Strange problem displaying external files (css includes)

Hope somebody can help me with this. First of all, I'm running mac os x 10.4.11 using dreamweaver 8.0.2.
Just recently i've been unable to display any external files (namingly my css; attached as includes) when I open a local document. Tried to delete my "site cache" as well as re-creating the site prefs and made sure "Display External Files" is checked under COMMANDS. Still nothing. Anyone have a idea it just all of a sudden stopped displaying all external fles???

Peter,
I tried testing the RSS feed using a FeedReader, and it works with that. But, when I try feed the same URL ( http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss ) as the XML source in the Omniportlet, I get the following error message:
Error
Failed to open specified URL. Check the following: is the URL is active; is there a valid proxy setting or, if HTTP authentication is required, check user name and password. [http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss]
Here is how the proxy is defined in the Provider.xml file:
<proxyInfo class="oracle.portal.provider.v2.ProxyInformation">
<httpProxyHost>www-proxy.us.oracle.com</httpProxyHost>
<httpProxyPort>80</httpProxyPort>
<proxyUser>my Oracle Single-SignOn username</proxyUser>
<proxyPassword>my Oracle Single-signOn pwd</proxyPassword>
</proxyInfo>
I am on the Oracle Intranet. So, please let me know how I could reach you offline, if you think that will make things easier to resolve this problem.
I appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Kalyan

  • Design View not displaying external files...HELP!

    This is my second attempt asking for anybody's help. I'm using Dreamweaver 8.0.2 (OS X 10.4.11) and when I open "any" of my local files In "Design View" NO external files loads. Here's what I've done so far to no avail:
    Delete "site cache"
    Delete all pref files
    Made sure "Display External Files" is check
    Made sure "Style Rendering --> Display Files" is check (using screen media type)
    Check that my firewall is disabled
    Renamed local root DIR of site file
    Searched the web, forums, etc...none of the answers worked
    Reinstalled DW 8.....TWICE!
    2 weeks ago I did updates to my website and everything was just fine. And now, nothing is working. All I can see is text and all of DIV blocks...but all external CSS and INC files fails to load. Been trying to fix this for 2 days now. Can anyone "please" give me some ideas to fix this problem.

    Hi - without seeing the actual page code, I'll take a stab that possibly you've lost the link to your stylesheets...?
    If you view the code, somewhere inside the "head" tags (generally right under the "Title", you should have a reference to any of your external stylesheets/images, etc.) Something like this:
    <link href="name_of_stylesheet.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    If no images are showing up as well, my guess is that you've moved the page (or the images and stylesheet) into a different folder/or subfolder without updating the links.  Any time you move a file, it should be done within dreamweaver (and it will always ask if you want to update links). If you move a file without using DW, it will definitely break all links, and no amount of re-installing, re-caching, etc. will fix it (sorry)...
    If this is the case, the best way to rectify would be to move the file back to where you had it... if this isn't the reason for the broken links, you'll need to manually re-update all of the links because something else has broken the linkage... (sorry again...)
    Hope that helps,
    Jesse

  • Problem writing external file to externally mounted disk in Windows

    Folks,
    I've got a puzzling problem with a simple OWB mapping where I'm dumping the contents of a table to an external file.
    Versions are OWB v 11.2.0.2 64-bits on Oracle RDBMS 11.2.0.2 Windows 2007 64-bits Enterprise Server.
    When the external files module is hooked up to a location that points to a local disk and directory on the OWB-server, everything works fine - files are created and written.
    When the external files module is hooked up to a location that points to a mounted disk on another Windows 2007 64-bits Enterprise Server, I get +"Invalid Path for target file, check if connector is deployed correctly".+
    The "File System Location Path" in OWB is set to "N:" (no slashes either way). "Test Connection" reports OK.
    I've given both the Oracle os-user and "Everyone" (for good measure) all rights on the mounted disk, and I can see that the generated package code is using the correct Directory, and the Directory Path is the correct one on the server. The mounted disk (N:) should appear as a local disk to Oracle as far as I can see. I'm able to create and delete files on the disk using command line on the OWB/DB-server.
    I'm scratching my head on this one....

    then mapped that share as a network drive (N:) on server A (the OWB/DB-server)I think that problem was with different accounts used for run Oracle database (usually database instance run under SYSTEM account) and which you used to map share (it was interactive session). Even when you made this map persistent (enable "Reconnect at logon" option during mapping) you don't grant access to this drive to other accounts (including SYSTEM ) - this drive will not be visible to other users.
    I think it is possible to create "persistent" network drive mapping for Oracle database context with specification non-SYSTEM account (domain or server local) for running Oracle database instance (and Oracle Listener service).
    Also it seems there is a workaround to access mapped network drive under SYSTEM account:

  • Strange problem when copying files to NAS

    Hello all. I have a strange problem when trying to copy files from my intel iMac to my Seagate NAS. I am copying files from my HD and when the file is nearly copyied i get an error message saying that the file can't be copied because it is already in use by another application. Well... it surely isn't. I try copying them by ftp (Filezilla) and everything works fine. I can then access them through my media server but !!!! NOT THROUGH MY iMac!!!! It is like the files are not there!!!! But they definetely are! I tried fixing the disk permissions, rebooting NAS, iMac etc but nothing seems to solve the problem. Is there any suggestion of what might be wrong? I am under Mavericks and i am pretty sure that the problem started after the update. When copying from my external USB hard drive to my iMac HD everything works fine. The problem is from my iMac to my NAS.

  • Very Strange Problem w/ external HDD - MP3 files missing on iTunes Library

    I'm using a late-2007 MacBook, iPhone 3gs and an HP "SimpleSave" external HDD (500GB) which is NTFS-formatted. Since I wanted my media files on my ext. HDD, some of which exceed 4GB, to be read/written on both Windows and Mac, I had no choice but to use such applications as Paragon NTFS or MacFUSE, and I'm currently using Paragon NTFS on my Mac.
    As mentioned, so.. I manage my media files - music, videos & photos - on my ext. HDD. I listen to a great deal of classical music, so managing my media files on my iTunes Library is so critical. I found iTunes suitable for managing classical music, because it provides diverse methods of managing, sorting and viewing my music list.
    Disappointingly, however, I lately found that some of my music files on my iTunes Library as well as on the hard drive's actual location of the files were missing, even though I didn't change or delete those files. Those files, literally, vanished for no reason, and this happens occasionally on my ext. HDD. Now I have to identify those missing files and do the ripping, converting & putting in the DB again, having absolutely no idea as to which files are going to be deleted by itself again or what on earth the reason is.
    It's unlikely that I accidentally deleted the files somehow, since I'm well aware of whereabouts of the files and I manage my iTunes Library 100% manually.
    I googled the issue, but the clear reason is yet to be found. I would be grateful if you can help me with this.
    Thank you.

  • Problems displaying PDF files in browser - Help requested

    The scenario is that I visit a website that has information available via a link that normally would open a PDF document in a browser window.  The sort of document, that once open, if I clicked 'File-save as' in the browser would immediately save as a PDF file.  In the current situation I click on the link and all I get that opens is a screen full of random characters from top to bottom.  I have tried right click 'file save as' on the link that would open the PDF in the browser, but all it wants to save is a .PNG file, i.e. http://echa.europa.eu/echa-styled-theme/images/doc_lang/en.png - which is what I get from right click 'properties' on that link which should open the PDF in the brawser - normally I would see a .PDF file described. I therefore can't even download the file to open as a PDF direct from a stored location on my own PC - all it seems to see is the graphics format - this probably why when the browser goes to open the PDF file I get the random characters, i.e. the application is doing its best to translate what it does see.  I would be grateful for some advice.  Pertinant information follows:
    1.  It happens across more websites than just one example that I've quoted.
    2.  It happens on my desktop only - I don't have the problem on 4 other portable computers, including ones running the same O/S
    3.  Desktop is running Windows Home Pro, all updates executed, running the latest version of Acrobat reader with all updates executed - I tried yet another uninstall, reboot, new download, reinstall, reboot etc. yesterday.  Desktop is HP Pavillion with 12GB RAM
    4.  I get the random character display when running IE9 on the desktop, I have also replicated the problem with other versions of IE installed instead.  If I try using Chrome as a browser it goes away and tries and just fails to open the link entirely and reverts to the original page.
    5.  I've already checked online for similar problems and can confirm that all the Adobe plugins are installed per what seems standard advice I have also checked the internet settings in Adobe Acrobat preferences and all seems fine.
    6.  Thing like the browsers and Adobe arobat are running as per their standard set-ups with nothing else done to these.
    7.  Any other PDF files stored on the hard drive of the desktop open in Acrobat reader without problems
    8.  Acrobat reader version is 11.0.06.70
    Any assistance to open the PDF files in the browser and get it working particularly with IE would be great, I am quite IT literate and can try most things.  Many thanks

    I have no idea how to edit the above message, but apparently it has been rejected.  I cannot understand why, I am a regular contributor in many forums and have never suffered the indignity of having had a message rejected before.  The message contains an excellent example of the problems I am having in the following link Vacancies
    How on earth can I demonstrate the problems I am having without being to post an example - that example has both sorts of links on one page, ones I can open and ones I can't - if anyone with technical knowledge is trying to help me then that is just the sort of page that would be useful to help solve the problem.  Rather than the link to the ECHA website in the above posting (which I note was approved).  I struggle with your logic in accepting one message and rejecting the other.  It is difficult enough as a user to describe a problem in words let alone have the best example of the problem rejected without explanation and no right of appeal on the email that I got telling me.  Not happy here!   All I am trying to do is to solve the problem I have

  • Problem displaying PDF file in new window.

    Using NetBeans 6.5, Internet Explorer 7.
    I am using the code example from BalusC at the site:
    http://balusc.blogspot.com/2006/05/pdf-handling.html
    I am having no problem reading and displaying the PDF file, but it displays it in the same window,
    not a new window and it overwrites the current page, so I can't use the back arrow to fetch the page that is overwritten.
    I am using a commandLink to fetch the file.
    Does anyone know why I am not getting a new window or tab for the display?
    The jsp portion for the link is:
    <h:commandLink action="#{MainPage.linkAction3_action}" id="linkAction3"
              style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-weight: bold; left: 280px; top: 0px; position: absolute"
              target="_blank" value="Insurance Document"/>The "MainPage.linkAction_action" method just makes a call to the display function:
        public String linkAction3_action() {

            dsb.setFilePath("C:/");
            dsb.setFileName("Insurance_Summary.pdf");

  • Looping Problem with External Files

    This is what I'm trying to build: A swf file (called main)
    that loads 4 external swf files (called intro, one, two, and
    three). At the start, main.swf loads the intro.swf, and it plays
    once. When intro is done, main loads and plays one.swf. This will
    loop until the user hits one of the buttons, and then two or three
    starts playing.
    What I have done already: Coded buttons. Code works.
    What I am having a problem: I want intro.swf to play just
    once, but it keeps looping. It's supposed to play once, and then
    one.swf is supposed to start looping. Is there anyway to tell intro
    to loop just once? (What I've tried already: a stop() function at
    the end of intro.swf clip, publishing intro.swf with 'no loops'
    setting.)
    (Talk slowly; I have almost no idea how to code in
    flash.)

    Edit: Really? No problem? Weird.. I find that all of the
    imported swf files loop infinitely, unless a stop() or
    unloadmovie() function is called, but then I need another button.
    Anyway, I found a workaround, that seems really obvious (in
    hindsight): I just copied the Introduction file into a new scene in
    the Main file. (Algorithm: Preloader, skip to Introduction scene,
    skip back to main scene. External swf files load, depending on what
    button the user clicks on.)
    Even though it's sorted already, I'd still hear what code you
    use. (It might be simplier than what I did.)

  • Strange Problem.. File to Idoc... RCVPOR is missing in control Records.

    Hi All,
    File to Idoc:
    Sender :
    Party : PT_ABC
    Business Service : BS_ABC
    Note : I provided the LS name(PARTABC) for BS_ABC Under Adapter Specific identifiers.
    Receiver :
    Business system (Without party) : BS_DEV_R/3
    In the IDOC receiver communication channel, I enabled the options
    -Apply COntrol records from Payload
    -Take sender from Payload
    -Take Receiver from Payload.
    Note : When i won't enable the above three options in IDoc RCV channel... Message is not processing and showing error as "Unable to convert the sender service BS_ABC to an ALE logical system..!"..
    File is picked and message processed and when i checked in SXMB_MONI,Idoc control records are showing clearly like below.
    - <EDI_DC40 SEGMENT="1">
      <TABNAM>EDI_DC40</TABNAM>
      <DIRECT>2</DIRECT>
      <IDOCTYP>ORDERS05</IDOCTYP>
      <CIMTYP>ORDERS05</CIMTYP>
      <MESTYP>ORDERS</MESTYP>
      <STDMES />
      <SNDPOR>SAPDPI</SNDPOR>
      <SNDPRT>LS</SNDPRT>
      <SNDPRN>PARTABC</SNDPRN>
      <RCVPOR>SAPDL1</RCVPOR>
      <RCVPRT>LS</RCVPRT>
      <RCVPRN>DEVSAP</RCVPRN>
      </EDI_DC40>
    But the Idoc is reached to R/3 with status '56' .And in the control records.. the receiver port (SAPDPI) is missing.
    I dunno what happened.When i cross checked, the remaining interfaces are working perfectly.
    Any idea whats going wrong?
    Regards
    Deepthi.

    As a matter of fact it is not strange at all:)
    It means you need to check the partner profile in the receiving r/3 system. This type of problem occurs because you need to define the partner profile PARTABC to the IDOC ORDERS05. If this association is missing you would always see the RCVPOR missing in the destination system.
    Also you have mentioned that "Note : When i won't enable the above three options in IDoc RCV channel... Message is not processing and showing error as "Unable to convert the sender service BS_ABC to an ALE logical system..!"..
    This is because for the BS_ABC sender service you must have a logical system associated; you can check the same by looking at the adapter specific identifiers. In your case I believe it is empty so the system can't find the logical system for it.
    Thanks

  • Strange problems with Zip Files in Captivate/SumTotal

    Ok, this is a weird one. If I publish a 1.2 SCORM course and select the zip folder option, our (horrible) SumTotal 7.6 system has no problems uploading the course. If I publish to a folder or to my desktop and place all the files in the folder and zip the file, it doesn't track as SCORM at all.
    I get the same results on the ADL Test Scorm tracker. When the zip folder is uploaded, it reads as SCORM compliant. When I publish to an upzipped folder and then zip it, I get a ton of XML file not well formed and other xml errors.
    The issue is that I need to make changes to the imsmanifest file to remove the SumTotal Navigation Player and resize the screen properly for the course.
    The zip program we are using is "ZipGenius".
    1.) Has anyone else run into this issue?
    2.) Any ideas on how to fix this so that I can make changes to the imsmanifest file and still upload the course as 1.2 SCORM compliant?
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Kevin,
    At first, I would have thought the LMS doesn't necessarily return the appropriate information for Captivate to send a score (there are several basic calls that are supposed to be sent by an LMS in SCORM to facilitate this).  So, I created a custom HTM file for the Captivate 4 template...  But in re-reading the thread - you are using SumTotal and I believe SumTotal does make these calls...
    For the purposes of anyone else that is using an LMS and not seeing a score in their LMS (and they are using this custom template) - here is a Captivate 4 template file that forces Captivate to send a score to a SCORM LMS (though not necessarily SCORM-compliant LMS - if these calls are ignored):  http://www.learningconsulting.com/Content/Macromedia/Captivate/SumTotal_Captivate4_SCORM_C ustom.zip
    Kevin - I do not necessarily believe this custom template will work for you.  I can send you an entire debug file I've built for helping to track down AICC/SCORM issues - but let's hold off on that, for now.  Can you edit the resulting HTM file of one of your published Captivate file built using the SCORM template I've provided earlier; modify the last line in the method sendTrackingDataToLMS; uncomment out the alert statement (remove the "//").  I'd like to know what is displayed when you close the content window from SumTotal.

    Andrew

  • Strange problem with TNSNAMES file

    We just rebaselined a new machine with Windows XP sp2, and installed SQL Plus Release 9.0.1.4.0. We configured the sqlnet.ora file and tnsnames.ora file and placed them in the <orahome>\network\admin\ directory.
    But when we try to connect to the 8i database, we get the following error message:
    ORA-112154: TNS:could not resolve service name.
    Now, I know that this usually means that there's something wrong with the tnsnames.ora file. So I double-checked it and it was fine. So I replaced it with tnsnames.ora files from three other working clients. But it still gave the same error message.
    Next, I replaced the sqlnet.ora file from working clients, but it still wouldn't work.
    Next I added a TNS_ADMIN environment variable pointing to the <orahome>\network\admin\ directory, but still no go.
    Next added an ORACLE_HOME environment variable, but no success.
    I had another pair of eyes look at this, and they couldn't find anything wrong.
    All the clients are on the same network, the database is up and running, and the other clients can connect without a problem. The client that is not working can ping the server where the 8i database resides.
    Help! What am I overlooking? Something in the registry? Can this error message appear for something wrong in the database even though the other 3 clients can connect?

    Mark,
    I don't think there's something wrong with your database.
    This seems more of a communication error between the client and the database, are the other clients the same version?
    From what I know 10g clients are not compatible with 8i databases.
    It's an SID issue I think, can';t remember now.
    will lookup and feed back.
    regards,
    Tony
    PS: Try creating the LOCAL entry in the registry and use the SID you are trying to connect, MIGHT help

  • Photoshop CS6  - problem displaying CMYK files in the project RGB

    Hello!
    I have a problem in 64 bit Photoshop CS6 - a new file (RGB, 72 dpi, no color profiles, mode 8-bit) images I put smart objects (images, CMYK, 300 dpi, 8-bit mode) wanting to build a small presentation for the web. These images in CMYK in some places have black spots pixelowe mainly in places where there is a gradient, or green. When you export a file to jpg's no black spots.
    In other applications, this problem does not exist. Restarted the program recording it again but the problem has not gone away. Photoshop settings are standard.
    I'm working on Win Pro 7, a very good computer.
    What do I do? Help me: (

    I am not entirely sure I understand you, but it sounds like it could be graphic card related... possibly at least. Could you post a screen-shot of how the problem looks?

  • Strange problem with RandomAcess FIle stream !!!!

    In our on going project we have a requirement of locking the files and do some processing on it.
    TO achieve this we used new features of JDK 1.4 and attained the locks. We are working on xml files and at present its size is around 390KB. After doing all activity when we try to write the file back to filesystem using 'RandomAccessFile' it does not write the full file. Next time it starts generating parsing errors.
    Due to this we are stuck up and donot know why this is happening. We tried doing the same with 'FileOutput'stream and it works fine. But our requirement is to do all the activity with RandomAccess only.
    Any help on the above will be highly appreciated.
    THanks in advance
    Arvind

    Below given is how I am reading the file
    raf = new RandomAccessFile("xfiles/lkups/analyser1.xml", "rws");
         if(raf!=null)
         channel = raf.getChannel();
         lock = channel.lock(); //Lock the file
         System.out.println("Got Lock !!");
    After doing the required processing on the file, the complete xml file resides in 'buffer' (stringBuffer). This is how I am writing it to the stream. (The same stuff works fine with FileOutputStream)
    raf.seek(0);
    ByteBuffer bBuff=ByteBuffer.wrap(buffer.toString().getBytes());
    channel.write(bBuff);
    channel.close();
    System.out.println(" read channel closed");
    raf.close();
    After lot of debugging this had been found that the problem is arising at the time of writing the file. The buffer contains the right parsable xml file.

  • Problem displaying tiff files using ADF

    Hi,
    I have some TIFF files in a table - IMAGE_TABLE
    ID NOT NULL NUMBER
    DESCRIPTION VARCHAR2(40)
    IMAGE ORDSYS.ORDIMAGE
    I am unable to display TIFF images in an ADF form. I can use processCopy to convert the TIFF images to jpeg, which them display correctly. All other JPEG or GIF display correctly, it's only the TIFF that don't. I've tried variours tiff files (different sources, converted gif and jpeg to tiff) but none display correctly (i.e. in IE you get the red 'x' - in firefox you get the broken picture symbol or nothing)?
    This appears to be an ADF issue as I 'can' dsiplay the TIFF files correctly in IE and firefox using the quicktime plugin but not from an ADF form using JDdevloper? (The code/application is Steve Muench's JSFOrdImageExample - http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/tips/muench/jsfordimage/JSFOrdImageExample.zip)
    Any ideas or suggestion would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    JDeveloper 10.1.3 build 10.1.3.0.4
    DB is 10gr2

    Hi,
    yes, I can view tiff's in browsers (IE and firefox) using the quicktime plugin. I've selected quicktime as the player in the af:objectmedia property settings and Autostart = true, but using the ADF form from JDeveloper will not display tiff images (jpg's, giff's etc. are fine) even though the browser will display tiff's on it's own?
    Thanks.

    I have some TIFF files in a table - IMAGE_TABLE
    ID NOT NULL NUMBER
    DESCRIPTION VARCHAR2(40)
    IMAGE ORDSYS.ORDIMAGE
    I am unable to display the TIFF images in an ADF form.
    Any ideas or suggestion would be appreciated.
    Is this an ADF issue?

    Thanks.
