Tab pages on different canvases

Dear All,
I have multiple canvases in a form like canvas a, canvas b, and canvas c in a single window a , i create a tab page on canvas a but this tab page displaying in all cavases.
Please tell me how i hide this tab page from other canvases.

Thanks for your reply, i have sucessfully done the same by programming, but i want to hide from form builder means if i am trying to work on any canvas i can se tab pages on each canvas for doing work on any canvas first i reducing the tab and then start work and redo that after completing work.

We are working on migration project from client/server to web
using 9ias. lot of our modules have tab pages, oracle docmentaion
says you should pay attention using them because all sheets get loaded including those hidding behind the tab. what is the workaround for this, can't we have tab pages, if so do we a limitation?

By default all your tab pages (and stacked canvases) will have the VISIBLE property set to TRUE. You can still have tab pages, just set the VISBLE property to FALSE in the builder and then add a little extra code:
SET_TAB_PAGE_PROPERTY('tab page name', VISIBLE, PROPERTY_TRUE[or FLASE] );
at the appropriate place.

Calling stacked canvases from tab pages

Hi,
I am creating custom forms from TEMPLATE.fmb in Forms Developer 6i. The main form has various tab pages on a tab canvas for different functionalities. Now, I have some very large stacked canvases which I want to be called by clicking on a tab. Most of the tab pages fit in the given dimensions for the tab canvas but the bigger ones are a problem. Please help me in trying to link those canvases with the tabs on the canvas.

How can i set different font for different tabs/pages

I want to set different fonts for different tabs/pages?
is it possible to do the same? If yes how?
I can change the fonts under tools>options>contents>advanced. but that changes global settings.
tried some add ons too- but that too changes the global settings.
some pages like tweetdeck do not display icons etc properly under custom fonts.
when i check "allow pages to select their own font" tweetdeck shows up fine but a number of other pages show fonts that are too big or some non standard fonts.
Is there a way where i can select site default fonts for some sites/tabs, and custom fonts for other sites/tabs?
otherwise i have to open different sites in different browsers- say i use my custom fonts- which apply globally, and open tweetdeck etc in Internet Explorer or Chrome etc. if i can have all tabs in one window/browser, that would be great.

It's not a built-in feature to override a page's styles on a tab-by-tab or site-by-site basis, but perhaps someone has created an add-on for this?
It also is possible to create style rules for particular sites and to apply them using either a userContent.css file or the Stylish extension. The Greasemonkey extension allows you to use JavaScript on a site-by-site basis, which provides further opportunity for customization. But these would take time and lots of testing to develop and perfect (and perfection might not be possible)...
Regarding size, does the zoom feature help solve that part? In case you aren't familiar with the keyboard and mouse shortcuts for quickly changing the zoom level on a page, this article might be useful: [[Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages]].

We check the properties of the tab page web item, but can't find we can bind the tab to some query.

will try to write as much detail steps as i can...
drag tab page web item in wad window
go to its properties
for e.g. u currently have only 1 tab page
than name tab page1 as p1
hit button with ..
this will let u add new heading to tab page 2
likewise save heading of 4 tab pages in properties of tab pages
now choose container web item
drag it in tab pages window
assign seperate analysis item in each container item
assign seperate queries in each analysis web item.
assign container1 to tab page1
assign container2 to tab page2
assign container3 to tab page3
assign container4 to tab page4
and their heading viceverssa
save it execute it
now u will have 4 queries in 4 container item and uc an see that in different tab pages.

Tab page + each tab menu will open a different page

Hi Guys
I have a small problem here
I want to add a menu tab at the top right corner of my page. This goes well
and i have my menu as follows
1.Add Client 2.Add project 3.Add employees
For each menu i want to open their creation page in the same page her want it to open below and having the menu as above.......
Also if data is committed to make the fields empty...
How can i do this.
Do I have to put the menu tabs on the different page that am calling

I Must have a horizontal menu which will be present.
Also for each menuitem in the menu should display the form to enter data into the application .
e.g the menu will consist of the differnet tab: Enter Employee ; Enter Project; Enter Client
For each menuItem I should display the creat for for example employee or project if selected and client if selected..

the width of my canvase is very large and i need horizontal scroll bar
form my canvase,but the horizontal scroll bar of window cannot use forn tab page canvase.

Here sdi3 means showDetailItem3. I've tried but one error is raised.
Error is : identifier sdi3 not found.
My java code is:

Can I open a tab with a different page (of my choice) than my homepage?

I dont think its possible but maybe someone can tell me Im wrong. I wanted to open a tab with a different page than I open a new Safari window. I would think this would be easy to do and I could just type in the URL I want, but Safari doesnt give me that option. If I go to Preferences/General to the open tab option , I only can do homepage/same page/book marks/ empty page/top sites. I wish Safari had the option for me to type in the URL I want - just like I can with a homepage.
So maybe someone wants to have the AppleStartPage as their homepage but wants their Gmail as their tab opening page. Or GoogleNews as the homepage and USAToday as the tab page....or iGoogle as the homepage and Apple Store as the tab page...Well you get the picture.
It seems like it would be such a simple t hing for Apple to do - a lot easier than creating Top Sites - but I dont see that option. I hope Apple will change that in a Safari Update. Why not give users more flexibility and choice in how they want to configure their computer experience?
If Im wrong, pls tell me how to set the tab for the URL that I want.

Can I open a tab with a different page than my homepage?

I wanted to find out if it's possible to open a tab with a different page than my homepage. It doesnt seem that I can do what I want because when I go to Safari Preferences/General, the only options for tab open is topsites/homepage/empty page/same page/bookmarks. I'm surprised it doesnt let you select your own choice of page - if that is different from your home page. It would seem t his would be so simple...Why cant I have a different webpage as my homepage when I open a new window and something else when I open a new tab. But apparently I cant.
Let me know if there's a way to do it.

Actually I did get it to work the way I wanted to; thanks. Its hard to explain but I had to set my homepage to what I wanted my tab to be , and then set my new window to the folder with just the one URL. So in this one example (although now I know I can customize it). I set my homepage to igoogle but then set my tab to open with my homepage (which really isnt my homepage) and a new window to open with a folder that just had "Google News" in it.
Seems confusing and a lot of steps to do something that could easily be accomplished by just letting the user type in the URL of what they wanted. Instead, I had to jump through hoops and basically set up a homepage that is not really a homepage because my new windows wont open with it as a homepage...so what makes it a homepage? If that logic makes sense. A homepage is not really a homepage then.
This is another example of where if Id ask Apple, theyd tell me it couldnt be done. Ive had the worst luck with Applecare and instore trainers. Most of the time when they tell me "I Dont know" or "This can't be done", I post something here and get the answers.

Scrollable stacked canvases on tab pages

I am in the design phase of a project and I have been building some 'mock-up'screens for the user to review. I have been trying to build a form which has a scrollable canvas stacked on a tab page.
This works fine, however there is a dynamic element to the page which is controlled by selection of a radio button, which displays another stacked canvas on top of the first one.
This all works well and good, until you try and scroll the first stacked canvas by its scroll bar. The content of the stacked canvas scrolls ok, but the second stacked canvas remains in situ and doesn't move.
I have trawled all the online documentation and both the Metalink and Technet fora, but can't find any guidance on this.
Am I trying to acheive something which Forms 6i can't do, or is there a bug, or am I missing something?
For your information here is what I'm running:
Forms: 6.0.8.8.0
WinNT: 4.0 SP5
RDBMS: 8.1.6.0

I suspect you're correct. I am going to have to something long-winded with 'set_item_property'. As you say, let's hope Forms 7 can cope with this.

I have two different Content Canvases in oracle form 6i and my requirement is such that i need to have these two
content canvases in tab canvas pages.
can Any one please tell me how i have to join these two content canvases in two tab pages.

HI , Your Logic is okay.
What you have to do is,
Open your existing from
In Canvas - Create New canvas with Type 'TAB'
And Create Two Tap Page - A & B.
select existing each items in existing canvas and select main canvas and TAP page -A or B
Once completed you can run your form as like before without any coding changes,
Regarding your question for TAB trigger code, generally you do not need any code as it is auto select.. by mouse.

I've 3 radio buttons(A,B,C) in the form and 3 tab canvases(tab1, tab2, tab3) with 3 tab pages each.. When user select radio button A, then tab1 canvas displays(with corresponding tab pages) and when user select B radio button then tab2(with corresponding tab pages) displays and so on.. one of the requirement is if there is no data then disable those tab pages. I was facing one issue when i was trying to disable the tab pages. if there is no data for all tabe pages for a particular tab canvas then it says -> FRM-41389: Cannot set ENABLED attribute of last enterable tab page. Is there anyway to achieve this? or any advise? or different solution pls? the requirement is to disable the tab pages if no data, i need to achieve this.

Presumably one page has to be enabled in each tab set. So make sure the topmost page is left enabled and disable the others. Alternatively you could disable the blocks/fields on the tab pages instead.

Exporting data from a screen's tab pages to an excel sheet

Is it possible to export data in different tab pages of a screen into a single .xls.
Suppose i am having 5 tab pages on my screen and having one export button, is it possible to export all tabs data in one go in a .xls by pressing the export button.

As I understand, through the standard Export button functionality you can only export the visible fields on the Page.

11g Forms Tab-Page Navigation

I am using Forms 11g on Solaris.
A main navigator form opens another form which has a content canvas, tab-page canvas and (3) stacked canvases.
The problem I am having is with tab-page navigation.     CTRL+TAB ( next ) and CTRL+SHIFT+TAB ( previous )
As long as I do not initiate navigation from an item on a stacked canvas, navigation is as expected ( between tab pages only ).
However, navigating from an item within a stacked canvas causes navigation to the parent form.
Repeating the tab navigation keys from the parent form returns to the called form.
Note that both key-combinations simply toggle back and forth.
I have found no documentation on tab-page navigation so any help / insight is greatly appreciated !

Changing block order in the called form does not affect the navigation between tab pages.
Note in my question that the resulting undesired navigation is to and from the calling form ( which only has one block ).
Navigation between items and blocks works as expected.
To reiterate -
     The only navigation that fails is when I attempt to CTRL+TAB or CTRL+SHIFT+TAB to another tab page from within an item on a stacked canvas.
     Attempting this navigation results in moving the cursor focus to the calling form.
     Repeating the attempt from the calling form moves back to the called form.
     None of your methods mention navigation between forms .
