Triggers not working in Oracle 9iAS

The form triggers are not working in oracle 9i AS.
My Application server has Linux operating system with oracle form/report server installed. I am able to upload the form
in the client machine (using Internet Explorer Win98 OS). Also i can feed in the data but none of my triggers are working (WHEN BUTTON PRESSED and other validation triggers).
Can anyone suggest what to do pls.

Well we've tested on Linux and the trigger do work - I remember two other postings on this forumn from prople with the same problem:

In one case the problem was not re-compiling using f90genm.sh, in the other it was something to do with the Machine setup but I don't know what the final resolution was.
The only other thing is to make sure that you are on a certified linux release for using with iAS e.g. Redhat Server 2.1 and Suse Enterprise server 7 and Untited Linux

why when-mouse move,up,enter,leave are not working in oracle forms 10gBecause every event is sent back to the application-server and processed there. As the mouse-movement-triggers fire extremly often, they would have heavy network traffic and would cause the form to behave "clumsy".
what i need to do to execute this triggers..There's nothing to do, they simply don't work anymore.
Possible workaround:
1. Re-think your requirement, if you really need these triggers
2. If so, you can write a java-bean which handles the events.

PS: TABLE_FORM_BLOCK is a built-in for internal use, usually auto generated by forms. For a moment I didn't get what that meant, need more coffee.

select * from tab is not working in oracle 10g. But at the same time,
select * from <<table>> is working.
Please advise me.

Runtime.exec() in Java not working in Oracle 10 Application Server

I am trying to call a .exe file which is in the Web Application folder .
I am Using Process p = Runtime.exec("path to .exe file ")
This code is working fine when used with JBOSS , but not working with Oracle Application server .
Please tell me whether i need to do any chnages to make it work

The only thing I wonder is DBUser DBPass DBHost, those are not the actual values, correct?, neither they are environment variables?...
In the server hosting your OAS, you should try running the whole CMD line from the start/run dialog ... make sure it works in that server ...

Unlike Oracle 7.x, versions 8 and above now internalize the trigger you are looking for within the database itself. So you can no longer have the kind of control over this process as you would have done previously, however the performance has increased according to Oracle.
It is possible to remove these triggers in an emergency as follows:

However this removes all of the triggers - which is not what you want to do in your situation.

Oracle Alert not working on Oracle e-Business Suite 11.5.10

Dear All,
Oracle Alert was working on Oracle e-Business Suite 11.5.10 with Postfix server. But now
we changed to MS exchange server instead of postfix server then onwards the alert is not working. I done the configuration according to MS Exchange server, inbound/outbound Server Name/reply-to-Address/added relay host.
Test Notification Mailer is working fine, but the alert is not working.

PreparedStatement not working with Oracle

I am using preparedStatement in my JDBC code to fetch/insert values from oracle9i database.
I am checking condition like if a given record does not exist then insert it else update it.
First time it works when there is no row in database, however for subsequent run it's not able to return me the result though that row exist in database and this resulting in DuplicateKeyException becuase it try to create the row in db again.
The code is working fine for MySQL DB2 and SQLServer but doesn't work in case oracle 9i

ps.setString(i++, itemid);My first guess, looking at the above snippets, would be that the item_id field is a number and not a string and so you should be calling ps.setInt instead of ps.setString when setting that parameter.
This is only a guess, however, since you have not posted what the actual error is, which will probably give a hint to what the actual error is.

Ctrl+Z fuctianlity is not working in oracle 10g Form

When i using CTRL+Z to undo things in editor it is not working but it works when i used Form6i.

Change Notification not working on Oracle 11.2.0.2.0 but ok with 11.2.0.1.0

Hello together,
we have an .Net application which implements the Change Notification using ODP.NET.
On the customer site all worked well on the development and test environment connected to an Oracle database version 11.2.0.1.0. After setup of the production environment (Oracle 11.2.0.2.0 on another server) the change notification didn't work anymore.
The notifications are registered properly, but the event handles don't receive the change events.
It was checked, if all ports are open, firewall etc. and no hint from this side was found, why it should not work.
Then we recompiled the .Net application with references set to the new version of ODP.NET (11.2.0.2.1) - also without success.
After all, a second database was installed in the production environment, but now version 11.2.0.1.0 (same version as in development and test environment), and if connected to this database the change notification worked as expected.
Can anybody give me a hint, what might be the reason for not receiving change notification events on Oracle 11.2.0.2.0 ?

This is a DB bug, not an ODP.NET bug. If it were documented anywhere, it would be in the DB README. This problem affects anyone using change notification on a DB on any platform. This is not a problem specific to ODP.NET.
I suspect this issue is not documented since it was diagnosed after 11.2.0.2 became available. If you wish to track a bug, you can log into My Oracle Support and view the bug log. I viewed the bug log myself and the problem has been resolved. It's just waiting for the 11.2.0.3 patchset to be released.
If your organization needs this fix sooner than the second half of this year, let me know. I'll ask Oracle Support if they can include this fix in a bundled patch or one-off.

Oracle 11g XE not working with oracle BI publisher 10g after enabling ACL

I previously work with oracle 10gXE and Oracle BI publisher 10g and it work fine. now i install oracle 11g XE and try to configure it with oracle Bi Publlisher, it show this error
"ORA-29273: HTTP request failed ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1324 ORA-12570: TNS:packet reader failure" after runing the ACL package to neable network service.

You'll need to add the apex engine owner to the ACL (Access Control List). Depending on your version of apex the user name varies. i.e. 4.0 is APEX_040000

OIM USR Triggers Not Working

HI OIM Experts,
we are using OIM 10g.
We are facing a issue in OIM like the task that is mapped to lookup.USR.triggers is not working.
Problem Description:
We have around 10 provisioning resources.Each resource has a task "Modify Status".
Whenever the USR_UDF_STATUS field is updated(ENABLED/DISABLED),we are triggering the "Modify Status" task.
I could see the task is getting triggered for 9 resources but for one resource the task is not getting triggeered.
Note:There is no mismatch in spelling or spacing issues.
What could be the possibilities?

Does this modify user process task is same as others?
Can you please verify if Disable manual Insert is unchecked?
Can you see anything from logs that this task is invoked?

Some RTF commands not working in Oracle XML Publisher Desktop 5.6.3

I am using Oracle XML Publisher Desktop 5.6.3 (Patch 5887917) and seems like some of the RTF command are not working. I am following Tim Dexter's blog (http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2007/10/here_are_my_terms_conditions.html ) and could not make the "new" commands from his blog, work in my template.
<?section:force-page-count;'end-on-even-layout'?> -- even with this on the template, I'm still getting output with odd total numpages
<?section:xdofo:blank-on;'even-skip-page-count'?> -- cannot suppress the NUMPAGES value of MS Word
Do I need to apply additional patch(es) on top of Patch 5887917 for the MS Word add-on? Could you please tell me what am I missing?
