When and where it is used?
How to create those fields involved?

Hi,
Exchange fault data will be used in Proxy senarios,When any error occured and Error need to be displayed in MONI then we use Fault message.
Fault message are predefined structure,just we have to create them and at Proxy side we have to genrate the Fault message and the structure will be imported at ECC side.
We have to call one FM and in that we have to pass the Fault message fields.
If any error occurs then we can see that error in MONI.

SIT Real-time data logging and passing data

Hello all,
I am pretty new to LabView real-time, so I just want to confirm a few things. I am also using the Simulation Interface Toolkit.
Let's take the Sinewave.vi from the SIT examples. I have modified it to use sinewave.dll, and run on PXI-8101. If my understanding is correct, when I click "Play", the entire Sinewave.vi is deloyed into PXI-8101, and therefore the entire VI is running at the same pace. The front panel I see on my desktop is slower snapshots of what is actually happening?
1) Let's pretend now that the sinewave model is time critical and must run every 10ms. How do I do that? I have noticed that within the "SIT_Indicator_Indices" loop, there is a Wait 50ms block. Is that accurate?
2) I have also added a time elapsed block that will change the Frequency and Amplitude inputs as a function of time. I made them update every 2ms. What clock are we running on? If my sinewave.mdl suddenly calculate integration (time dependent), can I use that elapsed time block as my timer to pass into the model?
3) How fast is the sinewave.vi running anyways?
4) Let's say I want a log of the sinewave output (a data point every 10ms). I don't need the log in real-time, I just want to do some analysis on it later. How do I do it?

Hi Bladhart,
When running the in the Development Environment (pressing the run button on the Real-Time vi) there will be an extra thread to handle the front panel you see. This thread will be handled just like any other thread in Real-Time and will take processor time, thus slowing down your entire application to a certain extent.
1. You would need to make sure everthing inside the loop can execute within 10ms and change the wait time to 10ms. Or you can use a timed loop set to run every 10ms and get rid of the wait time but again you would need to ensure everything in the loop can execute in under 10ms.
2. The elapsed time should be running off the Real-Time system clock.
3. The time that the Sinewave.vi is running is system dependent, there is no set speed.
4. You can log the data by saving to a *.tdms file. You can then use the data from the *.tdms file to do processing later.

GWIA Logs and IMAP data filling them up

GroupWise 8.0.2 HP2 agents on Windows 2008 servers
I have POP3 and IMAP enabled on my GWIA along with normal SMTP traffic. I think this is normal for most installations. I also wish to keep a running log of transactions and have properties of the GWIA set to Verbose logging, max 30 days, max 209715 KB total disk space. I've also tried it at Normal logging with similar results.
We also have the Novell Data Synchronizer as well as NotifyLink and a Blackberry Enterprise Server.
What happens is that the GWIA logs fill up with IMAP Fetch and OK entries to the point that each log file fills its 1MB size in about 2 minutes. So, what I end up with is 30 days of logs with each pretty much packed full of IMAP Fetch and OK entries. I find this to be overkill when this doesn't provide anything useful about the actual message traffic.
My question is....is there a way to exclude all of this superfluous IMAP info from filling up the GWIA logs?

PS. I take that back. I suppose I failed to wait for the log to cycle first. It appears that Normal mode logs are NOT full of IMAP results. Sorry for any confusion.

No, AFAIK that's all you can set (logging level, size)
I'd advise you make an enhancement request to Novell, clearly outlining
your reasoning and desired options.
FWIW, I can see the argument that all those "superfluous" fetch and ok
statements could be pretty important for many diagnostic purposes.

Logging of Remote Temperature and Humidity data

I am starting a project to gather data for humidity and temperature in
several labs in our building. The sensors will be networked and one
central computer needs to grab the data from them. I'll need to log and
store data 24/7 and create alarms and send pages when readings go out
of spec. I was looking for some general help and ideas form anyone.

My application is also Data logging 24X7, I am using Lakeshore 218 temperature monitor and taking data to PC by RS232 interface. I don't have problem to plot data on chart. But in my application i may have to look some time historical data.It is little bit SCADA type application but only data display. I tried to find some example but i couldn't understand , how to implement that. How it is possible to write/read same file at a time. My data logging is continous 24X7 and for example i want to see trend of temperature 1Hour back for 30 minute. How it is possible. because when i look at historical data same time datalogging is running.
Is there any example available for such application? or can you guide me how i can do this?

Exchange 2013 Performance Monitor Data Collector Sets

I've noticed that the Exchange 2013 install created two data collector sets within Performance Monitor:
ExchangeDiagnosticsDailyPerformanceLog
ExchangeDiagnosticsPerformanceLog
These sets are creating daily log files saved in C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Logging\Diagnostics\DailyPerformanceLogs that are about 500MB in size, which are filling up our system volume.
I've tried stopping them, but they get restarted automatically. I also tried deleting them, but they get recreated automatically. Is there a way to disable these? We have a 3rd party tool that we use for performance monitoring and would like to avoid having
to delete these log files on a regular basis to keep our system volume from filling up.
As a workaround, I've changed the path where the log files get saved to a non existent drive letter, but would still like to disable the Data Collector Sets completely.

Do note,
These performance counters only take up 1 week and not more so it will be about 3-5 GB if you can`t spare this on you c disk you have not implemented any best practise exchange design.
specialy with todays JBOD SATA design your c disk will be 1TB +. Review your designs to match MS advise.

Many of us are implementing exchange in a virtual environment, where disk is at a premium. Spending money on a 1 TB system drive is not a reasonable expectation. Even if that is best practice, there should be a way to manage the location and
size of these log files.
The inability to manage the location of log/performance data for centralization, or other reasons, is one more example of the disconnect between MS and their customer's use cases in regards to 2013.
These are the requirements for 2013 from MS:
At least 30 GB on the drive on which you install Exchange
An additional 500 MB of available disk space for each Unified Messaging (UM) language pack that you plan to install
200 MB of available disk space on the system drive
A hard disk that stores the message queue database on with at least 500 MB of free space.
So your statement is invalid as 30 GB is not even close to deal with the amount of log and performance data that we cannot modify in any way.

High data usage with Exchange email

We have encountered the following problem when using Exchange email.
Device used: iPhone 5
Exchange Server 2007 SP3
The exchange mailserver is limiting the size of an email to for example 10 MB
Now the users send an email with multiple high resolution pictures via email exceeding this 10 MB
The email stays in the outbox and retries over and over and over to send the email.
When connected to cellular network the data usage is increasing rapidly and the result is a very large bill.
What can be done to prevent the email from sending over and over again?
The user does not notice any problem as the email stays in the outbox.
Your thoughts are highly appreciated.

Currently on the phone with Apple. I do believe this is a technical issue.
The user sends out an email and it is not very clear to the user that there are problems sending the email.
I have seen instances were users used up to 3GB of cellurlar data usage because they send just on email that was too large.
Will post if I learn anything from Apple.
Did you know that there is some mechanism on the phone for to prevent sending to much content? Try to select like 20-30 pictures and use the arrow icon to assign the pictures to an application. You will notice that there is not much to select from. Now try to reduce the amount of pictures. More option will become available as you reduce the amount of pictures.
Unfortunately, if you attach anything from the mail app there does not seem to be a check on how much data you send.

Verizon is billing me for data I simply DID NOT USE - huge unexplainable usage every 6 hours - and no one can explain it

My wife and I both had iphone 4S' on verizon for years with no issues. My wife recently upgraded to an Iphone 5c and ever since her data usage has gone through the roof. After talking wtih Apple and Verizon countless times and getting no answers, im reaching out to the community.
The issue is very VERY obvious in that our detail usage breakdown shows my wife being charged for some data usage every 6 hours for stuff she never did. And, to make matters worse, my wife is home most of the time connected to wifi!   I don't know what it is, but something, somewhere, which on one can explain, is generating huge amounts of data usage on my wife's iphone 5c ( my phone is fine ). I will attach a sample picture below which shows just one or two days of this, but this happens every dingle day.
I want to upgrade my phone and actually get a third line, but im scared to hit this issue on two more phones. I dont know whats going on here and why no one can give me a straight answer. As far as im concerned verizon is scamming us by injecting this usage and hitting people with overages.
Some points:
     - random usage on a clear 6 hour cycle
     - some of the usage is clearly in the middle of the night when we're asleep
     - MOST of the usage is when the phone is home connected to wifi
     - we have turned off background refresh
     - we reset cell data usage in settings and viewed it the next day, it did NOT show the usage verizon is charging me for
I've seen other posts here and on apple discussion forums with other people having the same exact issue! I want ANSWERS or im going to have to cancel my contract and move to AT&T, which I would really hate to do because other than this verizon has been great! I've also seen some people mention that verizon polls for usage data every 6 hours, can there be some bug there that is making it use WAAAY more data than needed? ( perhaps an intentional revenue generating bug...??? )

I to have ridiculous charges...I went into verizon tonight and talked to a manager about my data usage which is **...I just got the iphone 5c on Saturday......I showed him how the phone says I used data while wifi and cellular data was TURNED OFF.....we reset my data to 0 and he watched me turn on cellular data and I went into my APPADVISOR app ....it is a clean app which uses minimal data compared to the internet...I was in the app 10 seconds and I got out quick and made sure the app was no longer running in the background.....we watched me get charged for 6mb of data in 10 seconds which was not only in my settings , but reflected real time in my verizon app that checks my data usage which is what my billing is based on
...I have unlimited talk, text with my 4gig of data sharing I have with my wife that we pay 70 bucks per phone a month........he then watched me text my brother on iMessage and get charged 16kb....I message should be free of data....we then went to ESPN for another counted 10 seconds and I got charged 4.8 MB.....the manager was dumbfounded by me showing this to him in real time......he stated the following which I hope is not a lie:
APPLE AND VERIZON ARE AWARE AND BEING FLOODED WITH DATA USAGE ISSUES WHICH SEEM TO BE REFLECTING SPIKED DATA CHARGES FOR THE IPHONE 5c and 5s ONLY.......APPLE IS COMING OUT WITH IOS 7.0.5 in the next week to fix these issues.....he gave me his card and he took my information and said if in this billing cycle I go over 4 gig of data, he will eat the overage fee.....we shall see what all transpires in the coming weeks but there is something jacked on apples or Verizon's end with the 5c and 5s phones...

Exporting and Importing Data of Application Log

Hello,
We do migrate an application from SAP System A to SAP System B.
Despite the application logic, we do need to migrate some data, too.
For this we do write an export report in System A that writes the data of some tables to files on the app server..
Another report in system B takes the files and fills the respecting tables.
So far so good:
One table (which reports certain actions) contains the handle to the application log, which was created for this action.
I do want to extract this application log and later import this log in the other system, but do not know how this can be done in the best way.
Do you have any suggestion ?

In my experience, it's an unrealistic expectation.
SAP doesn't provide a straight path to migrate logs the way you plan to do. It's kept in a combination of tables and index files on the system. So even if you were to successfully extract it, when you load the data into system B you will lose the date and time stamp. When you create a log entry, it picks up system date and time. That's what an auditor would look for.
An alternate solution would be to read the application log and store it in a new custom table in system B.
Any reporting should be done off that as of a specific date.

Data sync between exchange 2003 and exchange 2013

Need assistance on a general direction.
There is a 2003 domain with exchange 2003 currently in use. On this domain there is also a contact management application that is heavily integrated and cannot be update at this time. I would like to bring up a new 2013 exchange server.
Is there a method that I could have user data synchronized between the 2013 exchange data and the 2003 exchange? In this manner users could use the 2013 exchange as primary and the Contact manage application could use the sync copy of exchange 2003. For
now I am only concerned about he the calendar however I am sure the other information will need to be sync as well.

Hi There,
Once you install Exchange 2013 it will use the same data your Exchange 2003 is using \ seeing because both of them use Active directory for Directory information.
Exchange 2013 will see all the users that are 2003 without you needing to sync \ move data.
If you need to users to be on Exchange 2013 and keep Exchange 2003 all you need to do is move the mailboxes to Exchange 2013.

Block size in tt for writing data to transaction log and checkpoint files

what block size is TimesTen using when its writing data to transaction log and checkpoint files? Does it use some fixed block size during filesystem writes?

Although in theory logging can write 2 KB blocks in almost all circumstances it will write 4 KB or larger so yes a filesystem with a 4 KB block size is fine for both checkpointing and logging.

SAPDB : Archive the Log and Data files

I am running a SAP WAS JAVA on my laptop with SAPDB as the database. Its used for my local developments.
I have 3 log files and 3 data files of 1 GB each. I want to reduce this to 1 log file and 1 data file to free some space on my Laptop.
How can this be done.

Hi,
well, you should check the current filling level of your database instance to see how large your single data volume should become.
Then, I would recommend you put your db in admin state and make a full data backup.
Then, you would need to do do a recovery with initialization. This is most conveniently done using the newest available version of the Database Manager GUI.
During this process, you should be able to specify your desired new volume setup (please keep the filling level from your the beginning in mind). For the backup to recover, choose the one you just made.

Belle: No WLAN and Packet Data log.Filter options ...

In Nokia N8, with Symbian Anna, WLAN and Packet Data logging wasn't possible, even though there were options in the log filtering settings.

You'd have to think through this, but it seems like if you are using Outlook, and the items vanished from the Outlook client as well as the server,that you could re-populate Outlook using iTunes.
