Vertical alignment in cross-tab

Hi,
Anyone of you know how to align the measures Vertically Centered In Cross-tab report? As far as i know, there is option for Horizontal alignment; but no options for Vertical alignment. By default the text are docking on top aligned!!!
Help me out to solve this or any work-around to achieve this?
Thanks in Advance
Viswa

Hey Anindita,
I was not asking about the text orientation. I want to align the text in the cross tab report to be vertically aligned center.
I want the text in each cell should be aligned centered both horizontally as well as vertically. Horizontal alignment is available in cross tab formatting but not for the vertical alignment.
Thanks

  • Cross Tab export : Excel Data Only - Row headings are *bottom* aligned?

    Hi All,
Having a problem with Crystal 11 / BOXI.
I have a Cross Tab working fine that has four Row groupings (labels on the left).
In Preview mode, it looks as expected. Row #1 label appears on line 1. Row #1 label shows blank on line 2,3,4 etc until it is ready to change.
The organization of the Row group is further made clear by a nice box that spans multiple rows. The Row label appears at the TOP of this box as you might expect.
In Excel-Data Only format, there is a problem. (I saved, scheduled, and ran on BO XI Enterprise CMC console.) The Excel file shows the Row 1 labels without any box (that's OK as it is "data only") however the text is bottom aligned. So the first label does not appear until the final row of the grouping.
Same thing is happening with Row 2, 3 groupings, they are all bottom aligned.
It's confusing for the users who would expect the Row grouping labels to be all top-aligned.
I have searched the forums and support site and read all technotes. I also tried several things including:
Format Field for Row#1 Name, choosing Left/Right/Center horizontal alignment (where is the same for vertical??)
Within BO Enterprise, try combinations of options under Excel - Data Only : export formatting, maintain relative object position, maintain column alignment, use options saved with report, etc.
Any ideas? Is there a way to force a top-alignment programmatically, for Excel Data Only output?
    Help appreciated !

I found the answer to this question with help from SAP Support.
In the Cross-Tab Expert, Customize Style tab, click "Column Totals on Top".
Then, the Excel Data Only report will show the row titles Top-aligned for the row group.

  • Cross tab sub report with vertical page breaks

Hi have a report which contains 3 sub reports - different views of similar data. The sub report is wide enough to cover two landscape pages across and they run down over two pages
The first subreport on page one does expand across into the secon landscape page, but does not repeat the row labels, although the settings in both main & subreport cross tab are to repeat
The secon & third sub reports which print on the escon vertical page do not expand across to display any data, so I get no page four.
They all have exactly the same settings.
Is there any easy way to resolve this?

    hi Julie,
this is i believe the nature of cross-tabs inside of subreports...horizontal expansion within the subreports is not a supported feature.
you mentioned that the data is similar but just different views...is the query that each subreport runs off of bringing in the same record set? if so, is it possible to move the cross-tabs into the main report?
are you using crystal reports 2008? if so, does changing the page setup for the entire report to a huge size and then the pagination for each section to landscape help?

  • How to move vertically the fields without using the Cross tab layout

    Hi all,
I'm using Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Plus 10g (10.1.2.48.18).
With Administrator I created a custom folder and I have the following list of fields:
    Ticket id
    Creation date
    Actual Situation
    Gravity
    Owner
    Category
    Group
Inside my report I have as parameter the Ticket id, and then my intention is to create a page item for the ticket id, in order to change it directly from the report.
Now my question is very simple. Instead to show the data as usual:
I'd like to know if there's a way to show these fields exactly in this way:
I tried to create a Cross tab layout, starting from the Table layout, but it doesn't work because I don't have data points to show, and above all I don't need a Cross tab logic.
I need only to move vertically all the fields in order to show, for each ticket, all the ticket's details as shown above.
Is it possible to have this layout ?
    Thanks in advance
    Alex

Hi Rod, I'm sorry if I answered you only now.
My expression "in order to change it directly from the report" was just related to the Ticket Id, but right now the customer's requirements changed and I don't need to change it inside the report ; I just insert the Ticket Id at the beginning as parameter and then I see all its details.
So, I tried your second solution (row generators) following the article on the blog...and It worked perfectly.
    Summarizing I created:
    1. a folder called "Row Generator - 20 rows"
    2. a complex folder called "Fields names"
and then I created a join between the Tickets folder and the Fields names folder with the Dummy field
I also create a LOV (on the Administrator) based on a calculated field inside the Fields names folder (I followed the LOV example shown inside the Row Generators Blog Article).
    Now, created the first piece:
I'm trying to create others details blocks, always in "vertical style" (Customer’s Data, Further Information, etc) as below:
Do you know if this layout is feasible ?

  • Cross tab report vertical display?

Is it possible for a cross tab (or other RTF template report format) to accomplish this?
The one issue with our cross tab report is the data needs to be grouped by day. This is the format we would like to achieve:
    Employee-----Mon-----------Tues-------------Wed
    John------------08:15AM-----08:15AM------11:00AM
    ------------------12:15PM-----08:15AM------16:00PM
    ------------------01:15PM-----08:15AM------17:00PM
    ------------------17:30PM-----08:15AM------19:30PM
    Mary-----------10:00AM-----08:15AM------10:00AM
    ------------------14:15PM-----11:15AM------14:15PM
    ------------------15:15PM-----12:15AM------15:15PM
    ------------------19:30PM-----17:15AM------19:30PM
In this way, each employee (John and Mary) shows the time they started work and below that the time they went on their lunch break below that the time back from lunch break and below that the time they finished work.
With a cross tab report we are getting these results:
    Employee-----Mon-----------Tues-------------Wed-----------Thurs
    John------------08:15AM-----12:15PM------01:15PM------17:30PM
    Mary-----------10:00AM-----14:15PM------ 15:15PM-------19:30PM
The data is going across the row instead of down. John's 12:15PM time going to lunch should display directly below the 08:15AM time he started work as in the first example.
Any suggestions to get a cross tab report (or any other kind of format) to display data like that?
    Thank you very much! :)

  • Crystal Report 2008 - Cross tab in subreport doesn't expand horizontally

    Hello,
i'm migrating all my company's reports from crystal report X to crystal report 2008.
And i'm facing the following issue:
when a sub-report contains a cross-tab that is too large for one page, in crystal report X a second horizontal page is generated, but in Crystal report 2008 the second horizontal page is not visible.
Is it a known bug, is there a patch to install?

    Hi Abhilash,
thank you for your answer, but this workarround does not works in my case.
My main report is just a container for multiple subreports and some of them contains crosstab that can grow on several pages horizontally and vertically.
For example i have some crosstab that can span on more than 5 pages vertically and on 2 pages horizontally.
I tried to create an empty cross tab that span on 2 horizontal pages in the main report, and to mask it. That works for the first vertical page of the subreport but only for this one. Moreover if the first page of the crosstab contained in the subreport does not span horizontally, this solution create an unwanted empty page.

  • Display Data in Cross Tab Format...Per Quarter

    Hi Team,
I have following issue...which i am struggling to solve...
    My current report format is
    Material Technology -  Q1(Qty) Q2(QTY) Q3(QTY) Q4(QTY) - Q1(Pirce) Q2(Pirce) Q3(Pirce) Q4(Pirce) - Q1(Rate) Q2(Rate) Q3(Rate) Q4(Rate)
I have generated cross tab report...in which i am getting following display...
Material Technology Q1(Qty) Q1(Price) Q1(Rate)  and so on...
Is there any way i can get the required format...please assist..
    Q1 to Q4 - Quarter 1 to 4...
    regards
    nic

    Hi Nic,
The problem is you have 3 measure objects available: qty, price and rate.
If you put them in a vertical table then you will have 3 columns. As soon as you put in the quarter to create the crosstab BO will the for each quarter display the qty, price and rate.
To solve your problem is to not create a cross-tab, but a vertical table.
For each measure object you crreate 4 new variables (type measure) using the the formula:
E.g. for the quantity in the first quarter you create variable like: qty_q1
    =<qty> Where (<quarter> = 1)
The same you do for the quantities for the other quarters.
And you do the same for the price and rate.
Ending up with 12 new variables which you can put in a vertical table in any order you like.

    Harry

  • Unable to bold a cell verticle line in Cross-tab Format Grid Lines

    Hi
I am unable to bold a random Cell vertical line inside the cross-tab. My cross-tab is having access database which pulls every data correctly,
To elaborate , here is the images to make it clear.
First one is the current output of cross-tab & 2nd one is the desired output :
To make it more clear ,
I am giving the screenshot of Format grid lines option,  when I have selected Cell vertical lines , I can change Line options (Like style, width, color) from it. When I change it, it changes all three lines simultaneously. But, in that, I just want to bold only the last line of this grid.
The screenshot as follows (To denote the lines, I have put numbering under the vertical lines, where I want to bold only the third one) :
Please let me know, if  any solution to this. I m using CRVS_13.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
    try to do this way..
Right click on crosstab - > crosstab expert -> customize style -> select your particular column then goto Format Grid Lines -> select your particular one based view -> ok..
I hope this not yet possible because select 1 automatically 2,3 vertical lines are selected..
See how it works......Please update ASAP

  • Exporting Cross Tabs to Excel - Data Only

I have a report with three cross tabs embedded in three report footers (RFa, RFb, RFc).  The third cross tab in RFc, is actually in a subreport.  When I preview the report and then export to excel in Excel Data Only there is no problem.  Howeever, when I export the report (with the same export settings as before) without previewing it first, it truncates the data found in the first and third crosstabs.  Anybody have any ideas on what could be causing this?  I have played with the settings in the export options and have gotten it to export the first and second crosstabs without previewing but the third crosstab is still a problem.
I thought that Crystal reports would export exactly what is in the report and I do not know why previewing should matter or not?
    Thank you for your help!

    Athalia,
I tried to recreate the issue using the Xtreme sample database with 3 crosstabs in RFa,b,c with hours of the day as columns. First crosstab has rows for Region, second uses City, and third uses Country.
All 3 are summarizing Customer Credit ID and the 3rd has the sum of Last Years Sales and count of Address1.
When I export this I get the correct result whether the report is previewed or not. I am using the exporting options, Maintain Relative Object position, Maintain Column Alignment, and Simplify Page Header
    I would suggest;
    a) Ensure that the 3 crosstabs are left aligned and that the column widths of all 3 are the same
    b) If there are any other sections in the report that are visible try suppressing all but the 3 sections with the crosstabs in them, will it export now?
    c) Try recreating the 3rd crosstab adding just 1 summarized field at a time until it fails and then any formatting that you had done until it fails to try and narrow down what is causing the truncation
    d) Try creating a similar report using the Xtreme sample database to see if you can recreate the issue and if so then document the steps so that I can recreate it.

  • Show statistics of year against month in cross tab

    Dear All,
I want to create a report to show some statistics (measure), e.g. sales revenue of different year and month in cross tab format, i.e. year as the vertical axis and month as the horizontal axis. So that I can compare the revenue of specific among different years and show the tendency for analysis.
However, what I got the statistics is being grouped by the year (vertical axis) only and being the same across month ( horizontal axis).
should any coding be added to achieve such purpose? Please kindly advise.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Cherry

OK, let me explain in this way.
    I have a table:
    FiscalYr-Month(yyyymm)-Sales
    -2006-200601--
    1,000,000
    -2006-200602--
    1,000,100
    -2006-200603--
    1,000,200
    -2007-200701--
    1,001,000
    -2007-200702--
    1,001,100
    -2007-200703--
    1,001,200
and in the report, i want to compare the data in format of crosstab as follow:
    -FiscalYr\Month---01+02+03--
    +
    --2006----------1,000,000+---1,000,100+---1,000,200--
    +
    --2007----------1,001,000+---1,001,100+---1,001,200--
    +
    -Sum/Diff/Avg-.................
So that I can compare the trend of sales of same month against different years.
The original data saves month in format of yyyymm instead of the month number to ease some of calculations of another module. Still, there is a time dimension table which can convert yyyymm to month number. Therefore I thought it should be possible to display month in number in the report.
However, what I get now, the sales are being grouped by the Fiscal Yr like this:
    -FiscalYr\Month---01+02+03--
    +
    --2006----------3,000,300+---3,000,300+---3,000,300--
    +
    --2007----------3,003,300+---3,003,300+---3,003,300--
    +
    -Sum/Diff/Avg-.................
I am not sure if there is something wrong in my structure (now year and month and 2 dimensions) or I can make use of some formula/coding in the report (or universe?).
Please kindly give me some idea.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Vertical alignment in text form

Been trying set vertical alignment so that text will align with the top of the form box, and having a frustrating result. It will only align if the box is one line only.
A multi-line box will not expand vertically to accomodate long text; an expanded (vertically) box will result in text beginning below top alignment. Anyone working on a fix for this? It seems to be a new problem, as I have used this feature with in the past with old versions of Acrobat.

If I understand your issue correctly, you can achieve this by playing witht the Left and Right values under Layout tab of the object properties.
Let me know if this is not what youare looking for..

  • Vertical Alignment in the cell of a ALV webdynpro

    HI Experts,
As per my requirement i have created an ALV in webdynpro, which has several columns few of the columns have check boxes and few have input fields.
Now, if I look at my ALV output i observed in the cell which are input fields all the data is bottom aligned but in the other cells the check boxes are top aligned . ( The vertical alignment i am talking about is with respect to each cell ).
I didnot fins any property either in the ALV or as even in a ordinary table where i can play around with the vertical alignment in a cell.
Do you think we can change the alignment in cell of a ALV? if so how?

  • More than one summary column in cross tab reports

    Hi,
I have a cross tab report.  The summary column is SUM. I want to add another summary column next to SUM which will be AVG(Average) column.
    Any ideas?
    Please see the attached image.
    Thanks,

    hi Anurag,
my fault...i should have looked closer at your data.
here's the easy way of showing two sets of summaries at the end of a crosstab, without having duplicate columns.
    1) copy your existing cross-tab and paste it to the right of your current cross-tab.
    2) now go to the cross-tab expert of the new cross-tab and remove the fields from the Column dialogue
    3) change the summary to an Average
    4) exit the cross-tab expert and go to the Section Expert for the section where both cross-tabs are...ensure that you check Relative Positions
preview the report. now you'll have to move the 2nd cross-tab a bit so that it aligns properly with the first one.
as a sample, see the attached report. extract the contents and change the .txt extension to .rpt.

  • Date Formatting in Charts and Dynamic column resizing in Cross tabs

    Hi All,
I am new to Design Studio, so am in desperate need of your help on the following:
Is there a way we can change the date format in x axis in charts?
For ex: Am getting dates as mm/yyyyy from BW but requirement is to show in yy-Mon
Requirement is to display data in cross tab just below the charts. How can I make the column widths in the cross tab the same as x-axis divisions in the chart? Also, this will be dynamic as depending on filter selection x axis scaling in charts will vary.
In cross tab, can I hide the column header?
Would really appreciate any kind of help from you.
    Thanks & Regards
    Swasti

    HI Swasti,
To answer your first question, in Design Studio it's what you see is what you get! so it shows the Data Labels as it is in the BEx output, if you have to modify this you have to change it in the Background.
There might be CSS workarounds, but I am not sure if that will satisfy your requirements.
You can fix the Column width, but it would be constant, aligning that to your X-axis would require a lot of Effort.
You cannot hide the Column header directly, but one workaround would be to use a white BG text component to overlay on the Crosstab.
