  • Protecting the jar files from being web access

I have a jnlp file which is put under tomcat webapps folder, say (\webapps\TEST\launch.jnlp), with the jar and lib files put in the subfolder (\webapps\TEST\folder1\*.jar AND \webapps\TEST\folder1\lib\*.jar).
My question is how can i prevent user from direct access to the jar files via typing http://www.someip.com/TEST/folder1/main.jar ? I tried the following methods but it seemed not working:
    1. Change the folder permisson in \webapps\TEST\*.*, but when user type the above hyperlink they can still get the jar file
    2. put the jar and related files under \WEB-INF\, but now this time running the launch.jnlp, it returns an error saying that it can't access/find the WEB-INF.
Is there any method? Or should I say, when you published jnlp to web, the related jar files are forced to be accessed by everyone.

Sounds easy to me: encrypt your xml, then instead of just storing your key as plain bytes do some reversable operations on it (xor masks, reversions, whatever you like), just do them in many different points (and classes) of your code, have some parts done by methods that actually check application is running under JWS with proper codebase, scramble it all, and suddently the whole stealing operation won't be worth the effort. Obviously you should have many private (and package protected) methods, seal packages and so on. Maybe, somehow, you can even use reflection to identify calling classes (not sure, never looked for anything similar).
What else? write down some c++ code into your own dll/JNI library and make it do something too, so they'll even need to decompile the dll. If you know first execution is always online you can send another xor key and store it with persistence service or write it down to windows registry. You can keep making it harder as much as you like, even just with silly code like
Math.ceil((new GregorianCalendar.getField(Calendar.YEAR)%2000)/1000)*((int)('c'-'a'))just to retrieve the number 2. If you distribute such code through many lines and methods, once you scramble it, most people will give up.
    Bye.

  • Can't able to access the Jar files which is kept inside the folder.

    Hi,
I am using the eclipse IDE, my project folder contains the folders src, bin, .metadata, .settings
if i place the jar file in the same location of the above mentioned folder means i can able to use the Jar file in eclipse(in my project).
But i create one folder in the same location in the name of Jar or anything and all jar files are placed inside the folder, then i can't able to access the jar file in eclipse(in my project).
How i can solve this problem?

  • I have 3,500  photos on my MacBook that I would like to copy to my Windows 7 PC. The PC CAN "see" the MacBook on the wi-fi network but I can't find the picture files through that route on the MacBook.

I took 3500 pictures with an iPhone 5 and a Canon Ixus camera whil on holiday in China. I downloaded them onto my MacBook every day.
Now we're back home I want to back them up onto my Windows 7 PC as it has a 1 TB HDD.
My PC and MacBook can see each other over the wi-fi network (the PC has an Ethernet connection to the wifi router) and the MacBook can copy files from the PC but not vice versa although the PC can "see" the MacBook - just not copy or transfer any files.
Also when I look for the jpegs for my holiday pics I can't find them on the MacBook though they open happily in iPhoto. When I look in my iPhoto library it seems to have (among other things) an XML file as a database but no actual jpegs. There are some jpegs on the MacBook but these are from photos I transferred from the PC before I out the 1TB HDD in.
Where are the actual photos stored and how can I transfer them to the PC over the wifi network?

Selectthem in  iPhoto and export to a desktop folder - see the user tip on exporting for edtails on the options available - from there it has not involvement of iPhoto - what access you have andhow you access the Mac disk is a subject for a differnt forum
Direct access to the contents of the ihoto library - a SQLite database - is not supported

  • How can I include multiple limits in the sequence file documentation for custom step type?

    Hi,
I have a custom Step Type that contains Measurements property under Results. Its type is Array of NI_LimitMeasurement.
I would like to see the values in the sequence file documentation like NI_MultipleNumericLimitTest type.
Is there any trick to do that?
    Thanks,
    Andras

    Hi Andras,
I have made  a slight change to the sequencefile 'docgen_txt.seq'.
In the Sequence 'Step Doc' is a section which handles MultipleNumericLimit step type. There is a precondition check on the step 'Add Multiple Numeric Limits' if the step is of type 'NI_MultipleNumericLimit'. As your step type is based on the MultipleNumeric Limit type, I have just removed this precondition and just relied on the existence of Parameters.Step.Result.Measurement. Equally you could add a new section in this sequence to handle your Custom Step Type which is only called when the precodition match your type name.
Now when you run the DocGen tool it handles your custom step type.
Find attached my modified sequencefile 'docgen_txt.seq'.
Just copy the contents of '..\National Instruments\TestStand 3.5\Components\NI\Tools\DocGen' to the User folder. Then place the attached file in the User\Tools\DocGen overwritting the version that is in that folder.
Then launch TestStand and try it out on your sequence file.
If you are using the html version, then you will have to make the same change into Step Doc sequence of the docgen_html sequence file.
    Hope this helps

  • How to download the .jar files for ESB?

    Hi,
I'm connecting to a remote sandbox environment of CE 7.2. I'm running into the problem that some links point to URLs without a fully qualified host name. For example, in ESR (url .../rep) the link that points to the Enterprise Service Builder is http://server:port/rep/start/repository.jnlp instead of http://server.company.com:port/rep/start/repository.jnlp
As a result, clicking the link results in Page not found.
As a workaround, I can type the URL manually in the address field of my browser.
That way, I can launch Web Start. However, it does not solve my problem, because soon after, the download fails because some of the .jar files have the short URL.
I get the error message "Unable to load resource: http://host:port/rep/repository/com.sap.xpi.ibrep.client.jar
Now how can I download the .jar files so that I can start the ESB? Typing the URL into the browser doesn't seem to work, and I don't know what else I should download to launch ESB.
Is there a post-installation way to specify the URL for the components?
Edited by: Arto Pihlaja on Dec 4, 2010 11:37 PM

    Found it.
I had to change the value of the parameter com.sap.aii.connect.repository.name under CE - Administration - Properties Administration.

  • How to modify the jar files information for Script Assets??

    Hi,
I am using Open Script 9.2. We can add the external JAR files using Script->Script Properties--> Script Assets. I need to change the jar files when ever i am going to execute no of scripts. How can I modify them using JAVA Coding without manual handling. Is there any specific methods existed in OpenScript to serve the above scenario.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Siva Thota

    Hi,
When you say alter the jar file, do you mean alter the contents of the java code within the jar. If this is yes then the simple answer is no. As you are probably aware, a jar file contains pre-compiled java code, which you will not be able to alter. What is it you are trying to achieve?
A simple answer maybe to use a child script which you can include into your main script. You can then change the code in the child script, and when you play back, this 'new' code will be compiled, and included within the replay.

    Why is that so?

    Hi Sudipto,
I'm assuming that you used the <wsgen> Ant task (in your build.xml) to create this
    web service, right?
Are you sure the client.jar file isn't in the web-services.war? You can verify this
by extracting this file (web-services.war) from the .ear for your web service, and
viewing its contents with WinZip (or the jar.exe utility that comes with the JDK).
There is a way to create client code without having a client.jar (or a WSDL document),
but it takes a little more work :-) I have attached a "heavily commented" example
of this, at the bottom of this post.
