Which T400 models have LED backlit screen?

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a new Thinkpad T400, and because of the Inetrnational warrenty problems, I cant customize one on Lenovo.com. Hence I'm searching for a pre-configured model.
The problem is I cant seem to find one that has the LED backlight other than the 2767. Am I missing something?
I'm looking for a model with the LED backlight, 2.2-2.8 ghz processor, at least 160GB 7200 HD, and the dedicated graphics.
The only model I found which has these is the 2767 R9U which has loads of things I really dont want, like blu-ray, bluetooth, camera etc. These things raise the price to around 2,500$.
Is there a model I'm missing or is this really the only option other than customizing?
Thanks.

That model number is not listed as having an LED screen in tabook

Didn't know that, thanks for the tip! It is not what I had in mind specifically, but might be useful.

I've always found Lenovo light on crapware compared to the competition. It doesn't take long to zap. Have you seen any other vendors' systems recently?
Corporate users generally like to create their own custom image, and don't use the factory preload.
Few weeks back we had 12 Dell Vostro-something to install. Not Thinkpad X220 class, but they came with nothing preinstalled, except for simple backup/restore util.
Actually I appreciate tools like Access Connections, System Update, Toolbox and I'm not considering them as crapware.
What I don't like in X220 - there is a lot of things like NIS, Chome, Google Toolbar, some Office templates, etc. In my opinion, it could be better to give user a choice after startup, do install this stuff or to delete it and recover precious (SSD!) disk space.
I won't be using this X220 myself, at least not very often, but I'm about to order new T420 for my use, so possibly another experiences will be coming, only if I'll have some spare time.
    Cheers

  • Which lenovo models have BIOS option to choose discrete graphics

I am planning on buying a Lenovo with an Nvidia graphics card.
Apparently, only the expensive Lenovos have an option in the BIOS to choose 'discrete graphics' or the dedicated graphics card.
The cheaper Lenovos only have a choice between 'Switchable graphics' and 'UMA only'( which I guess is the integrated graphics).
Can someone tell me which is the least expensive Lenovo model that has an option to choose 'Discrete graphics' in the BIOS ?
    Thanks.

The W520, by Indian standards, is an expensive model.

  • Which 27" iMacs have a matte screen?

Hi, I have a late 07 macpro with the 30" screen, are there any 27" imac new or used with a matte screen? Best, bmacimage

All 13-inch MacBooks Pro have got a glossy display. If you want a non-glossy display, you can only get it with the 15-inch non-Retina MacBook Pro.
If you are going to use the MacBook Pro outside, you will need the non-glossy display because you won't be able to use the computer with a glossy display or it will be difficult

  • T400 vs T500 Screen Resolution (LED backlit)

It's nice to see that LED backlight is now available for both the ThinkPad T400 and T500.
However the T400/T500 Notebook Specifications indicate the following resolutions for the LED backlit screens:
    T400  WXGA+ 1680 x 1050 129 dpi 200+ nit
    T500  WXGA   1280 x 800     98 dpi 185+ nit
I'm wondering why the larger screen has the lower resolution, and also why illumination is not as good.
    Are these specs correct?

Yes, it's nice to see the LED backlight option available for the T500 model. I had hoped for higher resolution to match what I have on my  15" Macbook Pro at 1440x900 and it was a concern for me when I was trying to decide on which option for the screen to go with my T500.
I thought I might regret my choice but after receiving my T500 I'm extremely happy with the LED backlight option even it's resolution is a little lower.
If one decides to place the the higher resolution screen on the Macbook Pro beside the T500 you'll probably notice the slight difference in resolution with the text and windows. But in real life I don't think you'll spend time with your head inches away from the screen studying the pixel difference.
Even thought the LED WXGA  screen on the T500 is only 1280 x 800 I'm very happy with it.

  • My iphone 4s has a built in app called "voice Memos".  A colleague has an iPhone 4 unit which does not have this app. This has beem on my previous models.  Has it been discontinued? Is  it a carrier issue?

"1  Which iphone models have the built in VOICE MEMOS app?  My 4S model has this, and i have also had this on my previous model.  A colleague has an iphone 4, and it is not showing.
#2  Also, my 4S has a smart keyboard with the microphone icon to the left of the spacebar.  Which models have this?

    1) Either your friend has moved the icon into a folder or onto another screen, or they do not have a real iPhone (or their phone is jailbroken). It is present on all iPhones and can not be deleted.
    2) The 4S and higher have that. It requires Siri, which does not exist on the iPhone 4 and earlier.

  • T400 2764-CTO with led backlit. startup or back from sleep, the led backlit won't turn on itself

    I have a 4 month old T400 2764-CTO with led backlit.
sometime when I start up T400 or come back from sleep mode, the backlit won't just turn on itself. I can see what it shows on the LCD somehow if the environment is not too bright. Only if I log in and put the system to sleep again and wake it up, the backlit comes back mysteriously.
Is this a setup problem or some defect with led backlit?
I have tried with vista home basic and vista business and both of them have this problem.

Perhaps this might solve your problem (http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message?board.id=T400_series_ThinkPads&thread.id=9159). I run a T41 under XPPro so am not sure if this is applicable, however I too get a dimming when switching to battery.

my touch screen is broken and i need to back my files up but it wont let me connect to itunes because i have a passcode on my phone which i cant enter because my screen is broke

Bummer. Hope you've been backing up to iCloud so you can restore your information after you get the phone replaced.

  • I have broken my screen and cannot access my iphone. I have an icloud account which I have used to back up my phone previously but nothing is showing on the website. How can I backup my data?

I have broken my screen and cannot access my iphone. I have an icloud account which I have used to back up my phone previously but nothing is showing on the website in contacts etc. As I can enter my pin I cannot connect it to a laptop. Is there anyway of backinh up my data, pictures etc?

No there isn't. If you check iCloud, you are not showing any backups at all? Did you have the phone set to sync contacts in iCloud, or were you just backing up to iCloud? If you were just backing up, then you should be able to access the backup, but if you were not syncing, then you probably cannot see the contacts in iCloud. You would have to wait until you restore from the backup to see them. You will probably have to go onto the iCloud website to erase and remove the device from Find My iPhone if you want to clear it off.

  • Trying to find out if X220 with model number 42875TU have the IPS screens

Hi, I'm trying to find out if X220's with Model Part Numbers of 4287-5TU have the IPS screens? I cant find the model through the Lenovo model search. Thanks for the help.

    Hi
I can't explain why partslookup service by MTM doesn't show your laptop parts. Though support site contains its short specification.
Try to get parts list by laptop serial number if you know that one:
    http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/partslookup
You'll find the panel p/n and its description.

  • New iMac screens - LED backlit?

Just as title really, are they LED backlit or is that the realm of laptops only at the mo?

    They aren't LED backlit.
Steve spoke extensively about how the glass and aluminium can be recycled, pushing the "green" angle.
He didn't mention LED backlighting, and he certainly would have if these new iMacs had that.
Also, there is no mention of LED backlighting in the tech specs.
So it's still just the 15" Macbook Pro.

  • Which macbook pro models have ACO5 keys?

    Hello,
I spilled glue on my computer a couple weeks ago and I was able to take the keys out and clean everything. All the buttons work, but I need replacement keys because many broke when I took them out. I would like to buy a replacement keyboard but all the keyboards I have bought have had the wrong internal hinges I am looking for which keyboard models use the AC05 internal hinge. I tried buying keyboards that were the same models as my computer but the keyboards had different hinges for the keys.
    Please help, thank you!!

Hi, I have an iMac which I just booted up and have a white screen with a blue folder with a question mark blinking on and off. Any help would be appreciated. Tommy

That means your iMac could not find a system to use for startup.  That may mean the internal hard drive has become faulty, or the hard drive mechanism is fine, but the startup volume ("Macintosh HD" unless you renamed it) may have some type of data corruption that makes it unbootable.
First, you should try resetting PRAM
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
and if that does not help, use this procedure to reset SMC (power management).  If your iMac is from 2008, this is the procedure for Intel (not PowerPC) Macs.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
(This forum category is for "iMac (PPC)," so if this iMac is older (with a PowerPC processor), please post back.)
Disconnect all peripheral devices.  When you connect it back to power, if you have been using a power strip of some type, try connecting it directly to a wall outlet, by itself (at least initially).  Start up with nothing but the power cord connected, then add only standard mouse and keyboard.  If it works, run it that way for a while.
If PRAM and SMC reset have no effect, you should insert your Mac OS X installation disc (for the currently installed system) in the optical drive, and restart with the C key held down.  This should get you to the Installer screen, where you can run Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
In Disk Utility, does the internal hard drive appear in the sidebar?  If so, select Macintosh HD in the sidebar and go to the First Aid tab.  Use Repair Disk.  If an error is found, note if Disk Utility was able to fix it or not.
You can then quit Disk Utility and attempt to restart normally.
