1.1 Camera List???

Anyone know what new cameras 1.1 is supposed to support? I have an olympus e500 and I've been dying to use aperture, but alas it doesn't support my camera and I can't seem to find anywhere that lists what new ones it will support.

If You have Aperture installed You can try it with the new 10.4.6 OS. It supports the Nikon D200 now.

Would like to purchase PSE 12 to process Camera Raw files for the following cameras: Nikon D800, Nikon DF, Canon G9 and Pentax K-3 does the Raw Converter that comes with  PSE 12 when purchased recognize  the cameras listed in the question or do I need to download  the camera Raw Version 8.3 ?

While the G9 RAW files can be read by Adobe Camera RAW and Lightroom, these file are unsupported at this time. Here is a link to Adobe's latest list of cameras that are supported and this list came out yesterday http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html
I have not done a comparison between Lightroom and Canon's software but others have and say that Canon's software is clearly better. I am sure when Adobe updates their software again to include the G9 it will be a very good RAW converter as it is will most other cameras.

  • Compatible camera list

I am looking to buy a camera to use on some personal projects and build a demo reel. I've tried to locate a list of cameras compatible with FCP 5.0.4 but have so far been unable to do so.
Can someone give me the url for this? Or let me know if these cameras are compatible: Sony HDR-HC7; Canon HV20; and JVC GZHD1US. I am going consumer due to cost, the jvc has a lot of features I like but records to a hard drive and I am old school enough to still want tape, but if it works best with my software, I'll try it.
Thanks for any and all help,
    Doug
Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   FCP Studio

All of the cameras that you listed, the Sony HC7, the Canon HV20, and the JVC GZHD1US (JVC GR HD1US you meant?) are all HDV cameras and should not be a problem when using it with FCP. When working with Final Cut Pro, you are going to want to avoid the Hard Drive cameras using the AVC Codec, because you will not be able to edit that in Final Cut.
I personally have a Canon HV20 and a JVC HD-100 and they both work with Final Cut Pro. The only time that you will have fun with either of my cameras is when shooting in 24p mode. With the HV20, the camera actually records the 24p timeline on a 60i tape timeline and thus cinema tools is needed to do the advanced pulldown. I among others posted specific instructions on how to do this with the Canon HV20. It is a bit of work, however, the biproduct is awesome. The JVC HD100 is a different story since they use their own ProHD codec.
    Hope that this helps.

  • Photoshop CS5 camera list

How do I get the "latest" list of supported dslr cameras for Photoshop CS5 ?

You need to determine when Adobe released support for your new camera in Photoshop.  To do that, look at these two pages. You'll want to find out the version of Camera Raw that can support your camera, then what version of Photoshop can run that version of Camera Raw.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
    Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
If, per the above pages, your version of Photoshop CAN support your camera, then you'll want to download the LATEST applicable Camera Raw update for that version of Photoshop.  Usually you can do that by simply running Help - Updates from within Photoshop.
If your version of Photoshop cannot support your camera with the latest applicable Camera Raw update, you can download and install the latest version of the free Adobe DNG Converter, which can take your raw files as input and put out DNG format files, which your version of Photoshop can open.
Photoshop Help | Digital Negative (DNG)
The DNG converter DOES work, and you will be able to open the converted DNG files with your version of Photoshop, but if you want maximal quality from your raw files (not to mention the convenience and ease of use of directly opening your raw files) you'll want the latest version of Photoshop. Adobe has made substantial improvements in raw conversion quality in recent years.  Note the availability of the low cost Creative Cloud Photography bundle:

  • Digital cameras list?

Where can I find a list of the digital cameras that are supported by iPhoto in 10.5?
    Larry

Ian is right: Apple stopped providing a specific list, since essentially all cameras that connect via USB are supported. They still provide a list of camcorders supported by iLife '08 here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306171
... but that's because the newer breed of tapeless camcorders is really a sea change from the old FireWire-based ones. Digital cameras still work the same way the first ones did years ago.
So fear not: any camera you buy will work! You can concentrate instead on picking one with the best features.

  • Import from Camera - list of cameras doesn't go away

    Hi,
When I open import camera, the list of "cameras" doesn't go away, even when I close the individual SD card folders each time. Every time I open the Camera Import window it attempts to re-open all of them, even if I previously closed them.
Is there any way to tell FCPX to forget this list?
    Thanks

Have you tried trashing your preferences?
Unexplained faults like this can often be fixed by clearing out FCP X's preferences (for some reason, they get knotted up from time to time).
Download Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager (free, simple to use, and perfectly safe, both to download and use).
    http://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/
With Preference Manager, you can backup the Prefs when FCP X (or any of the Apple Professional Applications) are working normally. Then when either of the applications are acting strangely, Trash the Preferences, then Restore from your backups (just a mouse-click).
If you trash the prefs and don't restore them, you will need to manually restore all your FCP X settings again, so it's a great idea to backup Preferences from time to time when FCP X is working well, then your backups are up to date.
Doesn't fix every problem, but it fixes a lot.

  • No cameras listed in Playback window

When I go into playback there is only "MyCamera" listed several times in the Select Camera drop down.

I had explained everything in great detail when I first composed this post, but unfortunately when I hit "Post" I got an authentication error and lost it all =/ Oh well my fault for not copying it before I tried...
I'm using seven WVC54GCA cameras, and when go into Playback in the drop down list for "Select Camera" there is only "MyCamera" listed several times, instead of CAM1, CAM2, CAM3, etc. which is what they're named. Each "MyCamera" represents a different camera but its very difficult to figure out which is which when they're all named the same.

  • Qualified camera list for FCE

I am in the market to buy a camera. I was looking at the Sony HVR Z5U, but found out that you can't use FCE to edit the footage. Is there a list that names cameras that are compatible?

The information on that thread is grossly misleading.
The specification on this page clearly states that this camera records on tape

If the camera records on tape using HDV it can be captured in FCE. The thread is discussing a separate recording method. You can add accessories that allow recording on memory cards. That will not work with FCE. The camera itself as delivered with tape recording will work with FCE.

  • Updated Camera list for converting Raw files in PSE7

I am looking to instal an updated CameraRaw.8bi file to accomodate recent cameras.
Camera updated needed for Canon powershot G15.
    Regards Daz.

Photoshop Elements 7 supports Adobe Camera Raw from version 4.5 to 5.6 only.
Please refer following document for you reference:
    Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
Canon Powershot G15 starts supported from Adobe Camera Raw version 7.3.
Hereby, raw files from particular camera is not supported in Photoshop Elements 7.0.
However, you can use DNG converter to convert Raw files into DNG and import in CS4 aaplication.
The Digital Negative (DNG) format is Adobe’s proposed standard format for camera raw files. DNG files are useful for archiving camera raw images because they contain the raw camera sensor data and data specifying how the image should look. Camera raw image settings can be stored in DNG files instead of in sidecar XMP files or the camera raw database.
You can download the latest DNG convert from following place:

    Mac:

  • I can't download photos from my camera. instead of a camera listed under devices I have a new icon named wizard.  help?

I can't download photos from my camera.  My camera used to show up under 'devices' when I connected to my Mac.  Today it shows an icon called wizard instead.  When I turn on the camera to start the download, empty picture frames appear, but no photos to import.  Can anyone advise?  Thank you!

Try to import from your camera with Image Capture instead of iPhoto. Does that work?
Do you see your camera as a disk on the Desktop?
Can you open the image files from te Finder?
That wizzard-icon is puzzling. Have you used your camera with a PC and perhaps reformatted the SD Card from a different operating system? Then I'd try to import a different SD Card, that has been reformatted in the camera.

  • Nikon D800 Camera not listed in the Lens Correction Filter under camera models in Photoshop CC 2014

I do not see a Nikon D 800 Camera listed in the Lens Correction Filter under camera models. Is there any way to update this ?

The lens distortion corrections are encoded in such a way that they are independent of the body of camera that they were determined with--in other words they are in terms of millimeters not pixels.  The only issue is that lens profiles computed on a crop-frame body can't reliably be applied for the same lens on a full-frame body because the lens profile from a crop-frame body won't cover the entire full-frame lens image circle.
So as you're looking for a lens profile just make sure you're using a full-frame one if you have a full-frame or crop-frame camera, and don't try to use a crop-frame one on a full-frame camera.  I'd expect Adobe only computes crop-frame profiles for crop-frame lenses, and uses full-frame camera bodies on full frame lenses, so there shouldn't be a problem.

  • How do find the list of Supported Cameras raw files for Elements 12

Where can you find the list of cameras that are supported by photoshop Elements 12  raw processing?

    Hi R Kelly,
I tried to follow your directions for marking your answer as correct….. but I could not locate the “Correct” under the box where your answer appeared.  I tried clicking on the green icons to the right of the page but I could not get the “not answered” phrase to change to “Correct answer”.   I have not used this forum before and have no clue how it functions….  sorry

  • List of cameras gone???

I was trying to find a list of cameras supported by iPhoto. The list use to be here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/cameras.html
Where has it gone? Where can I find a FULL list of compatible cameras?

Although not the camera list but here's a list of RAW formats supported by 10.5: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1475?viewlocale=en_US.
If you're looking regarding a specific camera do a search for it in these forums and see what you find.
The primary concern regarding compatibility is RAW formats and any camera can be used with iPhoto as long as it has a removable memory card.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • How do I activate my Isight camera to take an image of my gift card?

How do I activate my Isight Camera to take an image of my Gift card so I can redeem it?
The camera sees the card OK, but I don't know how to make it take an image.
    Please help.
    Greg.

I don't think that you can do it with older MacBook's which have iSight cameras on them, the redeem by camera lists requirements as :
Mac with a FaceTime camera (an Apple Display with FaceTime works too)
I think that you will need to manually enter the card's code

  • Web Cam will not work

I recovered and reinstalled all software but the Webcam will not operate.
There is not Camera listed in the Imaging devices
but under sound, video and gaming there is the Cyberlink webcam virtual driver listed.
I did a hard reset by removing the battery and holding down the power button and had it check for new hardware but nothing was found.
The Cyberlink YouCam SW states that no webcam detected.

This sounds like the webcam is dead or now working anymore...install skype and test that will tell you if it detect the webcam or not.
