10.1.2.3.0 CP2 Viewer Issue with Managed Links

With this patch workbooks with managed links that were operational passing a blank (optional) parameter now pass 'NULL' as the value. This is bug 7422080. We are in the process of downloading CP5, which is suppose to resolve this issue. This will take time. Can anyone think of a possible workaround? The workaround explained in the bug does not work, which was to edit the parameter, add a default value, then edit it again, remove the default value and save the workbook. I have also tried ' ' as a default value but it just passes ' '. It would be nice to have a workaround until we can install, test and upgrade to CP5.

2. Then a new configuration parameter "passNullParameterAsNull" needs to be set in configuration.xml under <viewer section with default value as false and which is an optional one. Usage :

When passNullParameterAsNull="false" , that means, when null is passed as parameter from one sheet to another during drill to link, the value will be converted in between to the value which is set as "ShowNullValueAs" in second sheet. eg: if ShowNullValueAs = "" in second sheet. Null value passed from first sheet will reach as value "" in second sheet. If passNullParameterAsNull="true", then Null value will always be passed as Null to second sheet irrespective of the value of "ShowNullValueAs" in second sheet.

Issue with Report Links in OBIEE

I'm facing a issue with report links(modify,printer friendly,refresh etc) in obiee
The reports which are set as "Display Results-->Embedded in Section" for those reports if I put report links(modify,printer friendly,refresh etc),the links do not show up.In the palce of link I can see "-"(minus sign) appearing.
If I change the report to "Display Results--->Show as link in seperate window" the lniks show up fine.
Any idea why this is happening?
Your suggestions are welcome.

Issue with Dynamic Link with Premiere CC and After Effects

I'm having a strange and annoying issue with Dynamic linked clips in Premiere CC:
When I render or export my timeline the progress will stall when it hits a dynamic linked clip. It will stay stalled until I click the After Effects application and make it the active window. Once that happens the render/export resumes at normal speed.
This is annoying as I can't start a render and walk away or work on different windows, I have to babysit all the renders to make sure they go through.
Has anybody experienced this and know of any solutions?
I'm running the latest version of Premiere (7.2.1) and After Effects 12.2.0.52 on Mavericks 10.9.1 with a GTX 770 Video Card.

Does it still pause if AE is closed completely? I often experience slower AME renders from Premiere over dynamic link material when AE is open. Closing AE speeds things up. Go figure.

OBIEE 11g Map View - Issue with Label Translation

Hi All,
I have a strange translation issue with the Maps in 11g.
Created in English language to plot the Revenue for each of the Postal Codes.
I selected Postal Code and Revenue Amount in the Criteria and created a new Map View. It had the text 'Postal Code' in the Map Legend and then the scale for revenue amount.
Now I logged on with Chinese Language , it still appears as 'Postal Code' in English where in it was actually supposed to show it in Chinese.
We have a translation pack to get all the column names translated. If I try creating a new table view, it shows the translated text instead of 'Postal Code', but some how this doesn't work with Maps.
Has anyone faced similar issues ? Is there a workaround for this ?

I also encounter the same issue. When I view combined layout, I get the No Results message. But when I edit the table layout, I see that there are records returned. Does anyone had any luck in resolving this issue?

Viewing issues with Adobe Acrobat Professional 8

We have Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 installed, and we are having some issues when viewing pdf documents. Once a Word document is converted to a pdf document, some of the hyperlinks are appearing thicker (almost bold) than others, and some of the text appears lighter/darker than the rest of the text. There is no pattern to this, it is all very random.
When we print the pdf document, everything looks correct, so this only happening when we view the document on the computer.
Can anyone provide a suggestion on how to fix this issue?

I am attaching screen shots of 1) a page where the hyperlinks appear thicker and 2) the document properties pages showing the fonts.
We have tried creating it with both the Adobe PDF Maker and the MS PDF tool and it happens using both. I am thinking that this really is a viewing issue, because it prints out fine. Also, it looks the same no matter what the zoom setting is.
Please let me know if you have any other advice.

PDF document inline view Issue with Chrome

I am facing an issue with the below procedure which should fetch and display PDF document in the browser.
It displays properly on IE 9. But no luck in Chrome. Shows junk.
What am I missing? Meanwhile report BLOB column link inline download is working fine with Chrome. I use this proc to popup a new window and display PDF in it.
Any help is appreciated.

Viewing issue with Adobe Reader

Hi there,
I'm having an issue with Adobe reader, which appears to be not related to platform or version. To cut a long story short. I've created an A4 design in Photoshop. Part of this design includes some boxes, that have been given an outline (border) effect. Also bare in mind that the Photoshop files are being created at 350dpi.
When I put my design into Illustrator/ InDesign and then generate a PDF file. I then go and look at the pdf file and when the zoom is at 100%, the edges of the boxes are not straight, you'll get a slight offset half way along for example. However, when I zoom in to 400% the problem disapears and the lines (edges) look perfectly as they should.
Does anyone know about this issue? I'm worried that when I print from the PDF, this issue will be in the print-out - or will it be OK when I print it seeming as it dissapears at 400% zoom.
Any prompt answers or help would be appreciated.

Can you open Reader by itself? If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

Maintenance View issues with an ABAP program

I need to update a Maintenance view(V_JURIC) from a txt file. I created an ABAP module to do this and when I update the tables that compose the view(TABLE_A and TABLE_B), the view is not completely getting updated in the last field. Any suggestions? Here is sample of the code:

Hyperion Planning Smart View issue with Member Names & Aliases

Hi,
Im using Smart View "Essbase" Connection to a Hyperion Planning Application, ver 11.1.1.3, however with the essbase connection i am not able to select at the smart view options to see aliases, members or both. I change the setting ( Duplicate member names allowed =true) directly at the properties of the outline in EAS, and now i am able to see the aliases, however if time I refresh using web planning/workspace this setting is undone. Furthermore i dont thing i should use it with planning. Any comments?

First of all I hope you have not changed the properties of the outline in EAS for a planning application.
For more information on using aliases in smartview have a read of :- Smartview --- Display options --- to display alias names
Also you will only be able to view member name or aliases not both at the same time.

IPhoto/viewing issues with size on some, not all, photos.

HELP!
When creating an iPhoto slideshow, I have found certain photos appear too large when "played". The photo is seen as a part and cut short to the viewer. So far my unsuccessful attempts have been:
Cropped (slide is cut down but returns to original dimensions and becomes blurry).
Exported to apps. PhotoShop and Preview and "Resized". Remains in the original dimensions with a smaller version in the middle with a large border of white.
Imported as a different size.
Reduced printing size.
The problem is how do I reduce the size of the photo without loosing the quality and is viewed in its' entirety?Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Materialized view issue with spatial index and UNION all.

I have this error showing up:
ORA-12015: cannot create a fast refresh materialized view from a complex query
This is because the table EL_INTERNAL_CELL has a SDO_GEOMETRY column that has a spatial index, whose ddl is

When I remove the spatial index from EL_INTERNAL_CELL column GEOM, Oracle is very happy and creates the view.
Is there a mean however to keep the spatial index in the materialized view?

I've managed to drop the spatial index prior to create the materialized view and it is ok. After the materialized view creation, I've recreated the spatial index on the table and all ran smooth. Hope nothing will go bad in the future because of this trick on spatial index..

View issue with Form 9i Web

I am using Form 9i (Web) and have installed Jinitiator 1.3.1.26 with IE 8.0. on Windows 7.
I am getting a very strange issue, when I type any thing on the form, there is no display come, however when I tab to different screen and come back to the same I can see the word I have typed earlier. Do I need to use any other Jinitiator version?
Please help.

The only Forms Builder version certified for installation on Windows 7 is Oracle Fusion Middleware (FMw) 11g. Developer Suite 10g can be made to work on Windows 7 by following the installation instructions for installing on Windows Vista, but this is not supported by Oracle. The minimum Java version certified by Oracle, for IE 8, is Sun JRE 1.6.0_16. It is recommended, however, that you install the latest version (1.6.0_23).
Developer Suite 9i is definately not supported by Oracle for installation on Windows 7. You might be able to make it work by following the same installation steps for installing on Windows Vista (see My Oracle Support document: How to Install Developer Suite 10.1.2.3 on Windows Vista [ID:559067.1]).

Initial View issues with PDF portfolio

I am creating a pdf portfolio in Acrobat 10.1.1. The layout is Freeform, when I save it and email it to clients, it never opens to the same size, depending on their screen size or window size, it either stretches or squeezes the file folders and the become out of place (and cover up other things). Is there a way to set the properties of the pdf portfolio so that it always opens up to a certain size? there for no matter what size the monitor is my clients use, it will open to how its designed? I know you can set up pdfs to open up at 100%, 500%, fit to window, actual size, etc.. but I want to take those properties and apply it to the pdf portfolio..

For a FreeForm portfolio you can set the default size of the icons ("cards").
You may want to play around with the options to see what works best for you.
To change the size of the cards, do the following:
1. Open the portfolio.
2. Ensure you are in "Layout" mode. You can click the "Layout" button to do so.
3. Click the Edit button.
4. On the upper right menu, click Layout to bring up the Layout panel.
5. At the very bottom of the Layout panel is the "Portfolio Properties".
6. Change the "Card Size".
Your choices are Small, Medium, Large and Auto-Size.
7. Save the portfolio. Close the portfolio (don't close Acrobat).
Resize the Acrobat window. Open the portfolio (File > Open or from the recent files list) and see how it looks in different size windows.

Website viewing issue with Firefox 3.6 under Windows 7

I use java script to list current headlines on my website userfriendlypc.net under, "In The News". The website has always looked good under Firefox, IE, Safari, Opera and Google Chrome. Since migrating to Windows 7, Firefox, only Firefox makes the text link in this area look like crap after the first link. The text changes to a greenish color and the hovered link seems offset making it look really bad. This only occurs in Firefox and only under Windows 7. I have tested this under Windows 7 with a basic install of Firefox and under XP. No add-ins or anything else was added when it occurred on the test machine.

I thought the ClearType configuration would fix the problem as it seemed to clear it up once ClearType was disabled however doing this made other things look like crap. I tried every combination available and this did not fix the problem. I was able to fix the problem however by eliminating the fade function from the javascript on the web page. The "In The NEWS" section still functions properly, just without fading the article titles in and out. A compromise I can live with. Thanks all for your help and hopefully, we won't run into any further problems.

Email folder view issue with netbook laptop

Help! Cannot see my email folders listed when I use my Samsung netbook. Clicking on folders opens the folder list on the right side but there is nothing to click on on the left side.
The folder list is visible on the left side when I use a desktop with a large screen. Do I need to change settings? Verizon email is so frustrating... Thank you.
