10.1.3.0 web service won't deploy in 10.1.3.1

I have a web service war file containing a bottom-up web service that uses JSR 181 annotations to expose methods in a Java class as web service operations. I also use the SOAPMessage annotations to define a handler. This web service is assembled using the OC4J WS assembler and works well with 10.1.3.0. However when I tried today to deploy the same war file into a 10.1.3.1 instance I got this error.
[Loaded oracle.j2ee.ws.server.deployment.Handler from file:/C:/apps/oc4j10131/webservices/lib/wsserver.jar]
[Loaded sun.util.logging.resources.logging from c:\java\j2se5\jre\lib\rt.jar]
07/01/26 14:11:25 WARNING: Application.setConfig Application: myapp is in failed state as initialization failed.
java.lang.InstantiationException: Error loading web-app 'myapp-ws' at C:\apps\oc4j10131\j2ee\home\applications\myapp\myapp-ws:
Error processing webservices.xml : null^M
The [Loaded ...] messages are the result of Java's -verbose:class flag. I tried OC4J's debug flag "-verbosity 10" as described in the docs on
runtime debug flags but that does not produce any detailed messages. Are there some other flags to see why this won't deploy?
There's not much info in any of the app server log files. Environment is XP SP2, JDK 1.5, OC4J standlone 10.1.3.0. I tried re-assembling it using the WS assembler from 10.1.3.1 but that did not solve the problem.

O.K., figured this one out. In EA I had converted a panelPage element to a Page, but had not modified the backing bean code to set and get the new object type. EA didn't seem to mind, but 10.1.3 production picked it up. I'm guessing it has to do with the better integration among the various participants in a page that's part of the production release (and also makes the removal of page components much cleaner).
On to the next!

    Hi!
    I want to deploy a web service with the Deploy Tool (J2EE 1.4).

    Other question: when I create the WAR file, I have to add : my interface class, my implementation class, my others java classes, my WSDL file and my mapping.xml file.
    Should I add the .jar that is used by one of my class???? I think yes, but...

  • EJB 3.0 Web service fail to deploy when ws result is on a diff lib project

    I'm trying to develop a web service using EJB 3.0 with annotations. I'm using Netbeans 5.5 EE.
    The web service should returns an object declared on another Netbeans project.
    ( a library.jar).
    Netbeans compiles everything alright, although when I deploy the application into Glassfish it complains with an error saying that wsdl file for the web service wasn't found.
    If I move the returning object class into the same ejb project as the web service it works fine.
    So, can anybody explain what is happening ? Is it a bug of Netbeans, Glassfish, EJB 3.0, JAX-WS or newbie programmer ?

  • How to stop a web service inside a deployed EAR in Weblogic 10.3

    Hi,
    I want to stop a webservice from the weblogic UI console in Weblogic 10.3 but cannot find any link for the same kindly help me on the same.
    Scenario is as follows
    I can see my EAR deployed under Deployment tab, when I expand the same I can see the web service but there isn't any link available to explicitly stop only that particular web service.
    Can I do this at all in weblogic if yes? Please suggest.
    Thanks
    VR
    Edited by: sorry the page got stuck and refreshed filling details and re-submitting

    Hi VR
    From Weblogic Admin Console, Deployments, on right side click on the link named with your EAR Application. It opens detailed page with more tabs. Click on the tab named Targets. Here select your WebService module and click on Change Targets button. Uncheck the server where it is targetted (Deployed), click on Yes. And activate the changes.
    Thanks

  • PL/SQL  Web Service fails when deployed to WebLogic server

    I have a web service generated via JDeveloper from a PL/SQL package. It runs fine both when tested in JDeveloper and when the WAR file is manually deployed to the Integrated WebLogic Server. However, when the WAR file is deployed to our actual WebLogic server, it fails. Other existing web services that were not generated with the JDeveloper wizard work correctly. I am having trouble finding any references to this type of issue to solve it. Are there any ideas what might be causing the WSDL to fail?

  • Problem deploying web service with the deploy tool (J2EE)

    Hello,
    I am trying to deploy a sample Web Service on the Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8.1 2005Q1.
    I run into a deployment problem ("jaxrpc compilation exception") when I have one of the web methods declared (in the endpoint interface) to throw a service-specific exception. The problem disappears when I change the declaration to throw an Exception.
    Here is the exception class:

    private String message;
    public StockNotFoundException(String message) {
    super(message);
    this.message = message;
    public String getMessage() {

    the endpoint interface:
    public interface StockServiceIF extends Remote {
    // the service methods
    public boolean sellStocks(String ticker, int quantity)
    throws RemoteException, StockNotFoundException;
    and here are the error messages I am seeing:

  • EJB Web Services Packaging and Deployment

    I am new to Web Services on WebLogic as all my experience of Web Services have been on Apache Axis. My first question that I have an EJB that I would like to expose some of it's methods via a Web Service but the EJB is a part of an already deployed, or at least it's an external EJB of an existing app, how do I package and deploy my web service so that it interacts with the EJB properly but doesn't have to modify the existing application? Thanks, Jeremy

    Hello,
    Which version of EJB are you using? (EJB3 or 2.x)
    If you are using EJB3 you can directly expose your EJB as WS using annotations see the EJB3 page.
    The the binding coule be done with a simple java Proxy or a @WebServiceRef resource reference to a Java class.
    Are you using ADF ?
    If you are using ADF, the binding of the data source that could be an EJB or a Web Service is declarative using a data control

  • Failure to deploy Multiple Web Services per EAR deployment

    Hi,
    I am developing web services using EJB 3.0 beans using annotations. The deployment of EAR fails when I have more than ONE Web services in a single EAR file. The exception I get is as below. Can anybody tell me if it is not possible to package more than one service in a single EAR and each web service and its supporting classes have to go in separate EAR file.
    When I deploy One Service per EAR, the deployment works fine.

  • Example web service will not deploy in WebLogic Server 9.2

    This example:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs92/webserv/use_cases.html#wp210789
    fails to deploy the war with the following exception:
    BUILD FAILED
    D:\dev\user_projects\webServiceDomain\myExamples\hello_world\build.xml:52: weblogic.Deployer$DeployerException: weblogic.deploy.api.tools.de
    ployer.DeployerException: Task 0 failed: [Deployer:149026]deploy application helloWorldEar on AdminServer.
    Target state: deploy failed on Server AdminServer
    com.bea.xml.XmlException: failed to load java type corresponding to e=application@http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee
    Does anyone know of a workaround?

    This works with WLS 10.0. Make sure you use the same version of the domain wizard as your 'setenv' command $WLS_HOME env var references (eg, wls 10.0)

  • Web Service with SOAP deploys but Test client fails

    I created a simple application based on a WSDL, the classes where created ok, everything compiled ok but when testing it using BEA's Test client I get the error:
    Parse of wsdl (http://localhost:7001/AA/AA?WSDL) failed due to weblogic.testclient.WsdlParseFailedException: No elements for {http://www.omg.org/IDL-Mapped/}cgin.LoginName found..
    the WSDL was validated.
    Any ideas of where the error may be?

    From the naming alone, it would seem that the type the test client is complaining it cannot find is inside the imported wsdl.
    I have not come across this before, so I am not sure if that is a flaw in the test client or simply beyond what is supported. Support would probably have to answer that question.

  • Web service security using Jdev 10.1.2.0.2

    Hi
    I am currently developing our first web service. It is based on a pl/sql procedure. We are using App server 10.1.2.0.2 and Jdev 10.1.2.0.2.
    I found this document
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/1013/wssecure/10gwssecurity_howto.html
    However it is based on JDev 10.1.3. I managed to create the webservice and set security settings in Jdev 10.1.3 however I had problems when creating an app server connection. And the web service would not deploy to our 10.1.2.0.2 app server.
    Are there any security options available when creating web services in Jdev 10.1.2.0.2? Is it expected that Jdev 10.1.3 won't be able to deploy to our 10.1.2.0.2 app server?
    thanks

    Hi
    Thanks for your reply
    I downloaded OC4J 10.1.2.0.2 and ran it as as a standalone server.
    I read the blog you linked and made the changes to the web.xml for the webservice. All of which I was able to do using the property palette in jdev 10.1.2.1.0.
    I deployed my webservice to my oc4j standalone server and it appeared as a new application. I editied the orion-web.xml for the new application manually.
    When I point my browser at the webservice I get the test page which allows me to pass parameters to the webserive. I invoke the webservice (which does a HTTP GET according to the test page) and the webservice runs. No user and password is needed though.
    What is the expected behaviour? I was hoping that the webservice wouldn't run until I supplied the admin user name and password
