10.6 Server with DHCPv6 functions?

is it possible to use DHCPv6 with Snow Leopard Server?
There are two different ways of IPv6-addressdeployment. Stateless autoconfiguration (without DHCPv6) or stateful addressconfiguration. we are interested for the statefully option, because we also want to use dns-adresses with ipv6.
Any ideas?

Apple uses a modified version of bootpd for their DHCP server. The GUI (Server Admin) certainly does not support IPv6, and my searching seems to suggest even the standard bootpd (for Linux) also does not support IPv6.
Your only choice therefore would appear to be to download the source for an implementation of DHCPv6 and compile this and if needed fix any Mac OS X issues.
As an aside, while Mac OS X has itself fully supported IPv6 for some time, Mac OS X Server appears to have zero support for IPv6. I would suggest Apple should be addressing this for inclusion in Mac OS X 10.7 Server as its likely release would be along the same timeframe as when IPv4 is supposed to run out of available addresses. If Apple leave this to say Mac OS X 10.8 then it will arguably be too late.
(Update - actually I think the version of bind aka. named in Mac OS X Server used as the Domain Name Server, does support IPv6 but I don't believe Server Admin when configuring DNS zones does.)

We are using SAP BW 3.0B version.
I need to convert data in ODS to XML format and send this XML file to remote server which is not a SAP application server, it is just a Window Based file server with FTP function..
By writing some ABAP code I have converted ODS data into XML format (which gets saved in my local system)
(Is that I need to put this file in Application Server to send it to the other servers? )
Now the thing is how I can send this file to that Windows Based file server.

I dont think the above code support windows OS. Because I always execute this script via UNIX.
I think you can try this option, go to command prompt, goto the destination path where you have an XML file using cd....
ftp (destination servername), specify the username and password.
afterthat, use the command put and filename.
check whether the file had reached destination successfully or not.
For automation purpose, you can use the following script like
ftp: -s: test.txt (servername)
In test.txt,
UserName
Password
bin
cd /files
put file.xml
bye
Also, you can check in SM69, there will be some SAP external commands to automate the file transfer.

No, I am not running this solution at a corporate level; I'm just using this one for home use by maybe a dozen people. At any rate, I looked around for several and this one seemed to work best for me. Here's some others I checked into. I did use PFPFileNavigator before I found AjaXplorer. I went with AjaXplorer because I liked the interface better and it has LDAP support.

I hope this gives you some ideas. I spent about a week Googling, installing, and testing before settling on AjaXplorer. I tried PHPFileNavigator (but didn't have LDAP support, other than that I liked it), Rumpus (didn't like this as it is commercial, and, uses it's own built-in web server), Relay (not enough features), and Mollify (again, no LDAP support).

Not able to copying files/folders from one Document Library to another Document Library using Open with Browser functionality

We have SharePoint Production server 2013 where users are complaining that they are not able to copy or move files from one document library to another document library using “Open with Explorer” functionality.
We tried to activate publishing features on production server but it did not work. We users reported following errors:

In our UAT environment we are able to copy and move folders from using “Open with Explorer” though.
We have tried to simulate in the UAT environment but could not reproduce the production environment.

One the newly created web applications that we created few days back and navigated to document library, clicked on “Open with Explorer”, we get this error.
We're having a problem opening this location in file explorer. Add this website to your trusted and try again.
We added to the trusted site in Internet Explorer for this web application, cleared the cache and open the site with same document library but still get the same above error.
However, another existing web application (In same the Farm) that we are troubleshooting at the moment, we are able click on “Open with Explorer”, login in credentials opens and we entered the details we are able to open the document
library and tried to follow these steps:
From Windows Explorer (using with Open with Explorer), tried to copy or move a files to
source document library.
From Windows Explorer moved this file to another destination document library and we got this error.
What we have to achieve is users should be able to copy files and folders using
Open with Explorer functionality. We don’t know why Open with Explorer
functionality not work working for our environment.
Are we doing something wrong?

How can you run a command with elevated rights on a remote server with invoke-command ?

I am trying to run a script on a remote server with invoke-command. The script is starting and is running fine, but the problem is that it should be running with elevated rights on the remote server. On the server where I start the invoke-command, my account has the necessary rights.
The server were I launch the invoke-command is a W2K8 R2. The remote box is a W2K3 with powershell v2.0 installed.
When I launch the script on the remote-box from the command line, I don't get the access denied's.
Is there a way to do this ?

The script that I want to run is to install the windows updates. I get an access denied on the download of the updates.
When I execute the script on an W2K8 box, (not remotely) and I run it with non-elevated rights, I get the same error.
The script is running fine when it is launched on W2K3 box locally with a domain account that has local admin rights, or on a W2K8 R2 server with a domain account that has local admin rights, but with elevated rights.

How to get a DDE advise link working on a DDE server with more than one topic on the same service, and with an equal item name?

When I create a DDE server with serveral topics, all on the same service and with the same item name (different topic), it appears that an advise link does not function properly. It doesn't work at all, it update only when the advise link is terminated or only one of the topics can use an advise link.
eg.
On one DDE server I have 2 topics:
topic1:
servicename: DDEserver

itemnames : P(1), P(2), P(3)
topic2:
servicename: DDEserver
topicname : C(2)
itemnames : P(1), P(2), P(3)
Only the topicnames differ!
Now I can't get an advise link working on one of the items (sometimes on one, but not
on another).
Normal (non-advise) links are working fine however.
(In my case there is no other solution since this DDEserver should be compatible with an older one, created earlier.)

I really don't know DDE very well. It is usually recommended that you switch to using ActiveX. You may not be correctly configuring the netDDE server. There is an example in the reource library that shows how to do this. You may also want to look at the DDE advise examples that came with LabVIEW 5.1 and earlier.

Need a List of Files on Application Server WITH "Last Changed Date".

Experts:
I'm currently using FM 'SUBST_GET_FILE_LIST' but it does not return the date which I need because I'm working on something that needs to build an internal table of the files on the server with the oldest file on top (which means I need to sort by the date).
I've searched this forum and there's several existing posts with different function modules and I've tried several but they either display an ALV grid or they do return an itab but it doesn't have the date.

I never see SAP PI install on Data base server which has other Application sharing. I do not know what is best practice but I am sure sharing data base server with other non-sap application doesnu2019t look good means not clean architecture, so I need some SAP document for best practice to get it approve from management. You should not mix different apps into one database.
If you have a standard database license provided by SAP, then this is not allowed. See these sap notes for details:

RFC Server with TCP / IP destination "Start"

Hi all,
I have a great problem, I have tried to look in the forum for the solution but I have not succeeded there.
I repropose an user's very such to mine problems unfortunatelly without solution.
I would to install a RFC Server on the client. From an ABAP Program i would send some parameters to my RFC .NET Server (on the users's computer) by the command 'Calling function x Destination y' (There is no problem as long as I use a TCP-IP destination of type "Registration").
The information is processed by the RFC Server and afterwards used to start another client application.
Of course I do not want to maintain a RFC destination for every client to keep it unique. So it would be nice to have a RFC destination of type "Start".
But when I look at the samples I have no idea how to pass the parameters to my RFC Server if it is a "Start" destination.
Has anyone an idea? Any help would be really appreciated!

Hi Alok,
if you are sending message to tibco then tibco guys need to register on the SAP gateway and you need to do nothing, just give them the details of your system and verify via transaction <i>SMGW</i>, menu <i>goto->logged on clients</i> if tibco is registered.
if you are receiving message then you only need to create a user on SAP and give it to them so that they can authenticate on the system before sending.

I am trying to upload an excel file in the server, but i only can upload flat files, i can upload files in local with the function ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE, can i use this function reading an excel file in the server, or is there another possibility of uploadinging an excel file in the server with a background job ?

First read the file from the server to some temporary place at presentation layer and then open it. And if required, save it to the server afterwards. To read/write files to application server you can use:
1. Statements "OPEN DATASET/CLOSE DATASET".
2. There are some FMs for server file operations, like "C13Z_FILE_UPLOAD_BINARY" and "C13Z_FILE_DOWNLOAD_BINARY".

Integrating existing file server with EP6SP9

we are implementing EP6 SP9 portal for our SBU and we need to integrate our existing file server with portal in which we can upload documents and download existing documents.
do we need to use content management to access this file server using the file system repository manager or it can be done in some other way

yes, CM is the software to use for this. you could, in principle, go without CM and code the neccessary stuff on your own. But: The more funcionality you desire (think of: additional properties, search functionality, versioning ...), the more sense using CM makes. Plus you get all required user interfaces (like a repository browser) for free.

Replacing a windows server with a Mac server

Hi all,
So this is a big company with about 150 employees using PC's (win xp and 7), considering replacing the current Windows server with a Mac server.
Is it possible to give users profiles once they log in like Windows server does? So when the user logs in they get to their own personal stuff? Can Mac server do that?
Can the user also get to the default printer and send prints to it regardless where they log in from inside the company?
And can the home directory to each user NOT be copied anywhere on the local machine where they log in? Meaning that after they log out there will be no traces to their files on that local PC..

Regardless, please plan and test and plan some more, very carefully !
The picture for what you want to do once looked far better with 10.6 server but that had its limitations as well.
With 10.6 server, Apple was using Samba - they are no longer doing so,
but/and the version of Samba they were using only provided NT-Domain level support.
So that would not work with your Win 7 stations either. But could be made to work relatively well with XP workstations. You can no longer buy any new Mac that runs 10.6 server and 10.6 server would be hard to obtain.
Not a great route to go.
Bear in mind that the key problem with Apple's Samba was that Samba changed their licensing,
and there's not a thing in the world Apple could do to implement a current version of Samba without violating their own operating principles and the licensing requirements.
You'll be heading into heavily uncharted territory here. Odds are good that any desired domain-functionality is not going to work for you.
Honestly, Apple appears to have thrown in the towel on directory-level support for Windows,
and the best way to support Windows workstations in that regard is with Windows server and AD.
Basic filesharing works, with some caveats.

SQL Server with BIDS install

Which version of SQL Server with BIDS is recommended for a starter? I keep on running in various problems when installing and uninstalling.

Express edition does not have this. but SQL 2014 'Express with advanced services' edition has it. i do not think full functionality is available though.
if you only want BIDS, you can install SQL 2008R2 express with advanced services edition. google for the link
