11.1.3 workspace web context issues

Hi all,
I am running an apparently successfully configured version of 11.1.1.3. Everything was working fine, until I stopped all the services so that I could take a backup, and then restarted them manually in the order recommended by Oracle. Now the following things happen:
When I try to access workspace it won't let me login. When I close the page and launch it again, it lets me log in, but I get a 404 error.
I can't access the webcontext for any other applications such as say Planning. http://servername:19000/HyperionPlanning or http://servername:8300/HyperionPlanning or http://servername:8300/HyperionPlanning/logon.jsp or http://servername:8300/HyperionPlanning/appwizard.jsp - none of these work, "Page cannot be displayed".
What I can access funnilly is http://servername:8300/HyperionPlanning/AddDimension.jsp. I had worked with my dimensions intially right after configuration when things were working, and so this link happened to be in my address bar selection. Through this link, I am able to access planning, edit dimensions, data forms etc.
oh and the EPM Diagnostic says all the web contexts are available.

Error when opening workspace, web analysis and shared services

Hi All,
We installed hyperion 11.1.2, Essbase on a AIX server, with reports etc on a windows 2008 server. when logging onto workspace, web analysis and shared services i get the following error message:
Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.4.5 404 Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
If we re-start the server it sometimes work, but in the morining we have the same issue, can anyone help.

After this configuration error, everything is ok in the worskpace except Financial Reporting elements.
After this configuration error, every configuration fails, I'm obliged to uninstall all the components of this server (Workspace Web and Financial Reporting).
This issue comes from the configuration of Financial Reporting in Workspace Web : Financial reporting is available from worskpaces of servers B and C.

Check note 838560 for "RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE "

Could not start the hyperion workspace-web application Error 1067

Hi,
I have installed hyperion from scratch in a distributed environment...everything was working fine.......i.e. shared services, workspace, essbase, sql server, and hfm. I was able to logon and navigate different options in the hyperion products...but essbase stopped working when I re-started all four servers ....?
(1) When I restarted all four servers and stopped and restarted all hyperion services as per giving sequence then everything works fine but essbase EAS console and workspace web console...i was getting error message " could not connect to administration server" whenever i try to connect EAS console to essbase then I went to services there I saw workspace agent and workspace web application service is down.
(2) as soon as I started those both services then my shared services automatically stopped but I was able to logon in Essbase console and workspace console but my shared services are down...
(3) as soon as I start shared service they started but my workspace agent and workspace web application automatically stopped...and when I try to start again workspace web application then I get this error "[ Could not start the hyperion workspace-web application services on local computer. Error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly]"
I have been searching online and googling but have a hard luck to get some best solution for this...can some one help me or guide me to walk through with this issue...

I solved this issue...It was with Hyperion Services those were stop responding some how.....but I stopped each service and restarted then those started working again...

Command button doesnt appends web context while commandlink does

There is a strange problem. When I use commanbutton with image property set, the web context doesnt gett appended in the front. While the same happens for command link. Any solution for the same.

Log4j and Web context - how to configure?

Does anyone know of a way to manage log4j.properties in the Web context? Specifically, to configure it so that:
a) logs go to an appropriate directory (probably $CATALINA_BASE/logs)
b) the logfile is named for the context (e.g. /MyContext would go to mycontext.log)
log4j.properties allows for variables. However, these variables are either defined inside the log4j.properties, which is a catch-22 for this, or checked against java System properties, which are JVM-wide. I could put a context listener that sets a predetermined property, but then it affects everything in the JVM, i.e. all other contexts, making it useless. Here is what I see as my options:
1- hardcode a full path in the log4j.properties, making distribution of the WAR difficult
2- hardcode it per context, but use $CATALINA_BASE as a system var. This is not terrible, but then depends on Tomcat, as opposed to being able to switch to other containers. It also makes the log4j.properties less transportable across contexts (more effort)
3- Configure everything in a Listener. This would work, but then I lose my ability to configure declaratively (log4j.properties or log4j.xml), and my ability to do configureAndWatch().
Ideally, I would like to have one of the following:
a- a variable that log4j picks up that is unique to each context and declares its path, but portable across containers (unlikely)
b- second best, have my listener determine the real path to logs, set some variable that is only held in this context, then have log4j read the properties or xml file correctly resolving the variable
c- less so, I guess the listener can load up the properties or XML file, manipulate any instance of the variable manually, then load the properties into PropertyConfigurator for log4j. Not quite sure how to do this, though.

Does it matter if I have to access the OWA url using a trailing folder name? I access OWA like so, https://owa.example.com/owa, I know it's a bit redundant, but I don't know how to make mail aware of that, or even if it's a problem? If I leave off the URL I can connect but not authenticate, with the URL it's obviously an invalid hostname. Anyone familiar with this issue?

How to use parameter of one web context in another one???

I have a web context which is a servlet
The other web context is a jsp
I also have a login page
In the login page after clicking the submit button the
control is passed to the servlet.
The login page passes the username and password
to the servlet
i have used doGet() method.
I simply want to retrieve the parameter present in url of the servlet and use this in the jsp.
How is this possible??

Office Web Apps Issue - "Sorry, something went wrong" message when opening a document (any MS docx,ppt etc) in IE. With Chrome, it pops (Microsoft Office needs your permission) message and on RUN, it opens the document.

When opening any Microsoft documents ( docx, ppt etc) in SharePoint 2013,
Internet Explorer behavior : "Sorry, something went wrong" An unexpected error has occurred message and then nothing happens.
In Chrome : Pops (Microsoft Office needs your permission) message and on clicking RUN, it opens the document.
In Firefox : the documents opens, after asking which application do you want to use to open it.
The feature (Open Documents in Client Applications by Default) is not activate.

According to your post, my understanding is that you failed to open Microsoft documents in SharePoint 2013.
I recommend to Run the following PowerShell in OWA Server :

Or

In addition, you can allow OAuth via HTTP using the following commands:

Flex 1.5 and 2 application in same web context

Has anyone been able to deploy both a Flex 1.5 and Flex 2
application (using FDS2) in the same web context? Or is this not

Please remember that importing MPEG-2 video files has a hidden Gotcha included.
What might not need to be transcoded again in one project may well need to be retranscoded in another one, as it is going to depend on how full the project is.
To try & be more specific, imagine this situation:
Project 1:
Import a 90 minute MPEG-2 file encoded with a bitrate of 6Mb/sec.
This would not need to be re transcoded as long as the Audio is going to be Dolby Digital. If you want PCM, then it would have to be retranscoded.
Project 2:
Same Video file at the same bitrate.
Additional clip around 15 minutes long also.
The first clip will have to be retranscoded, as it's existing bitrate is too high to fit onto a single layer disc.
Do you see what I'm getting at?
If an MPEG file has to be retranscoded, you are getting a dreadful quality drop at this point, as you must recompress an already heavily compressed file.
Best solution is to use AVI wherever possible, and if you must use MPEG video, make very certain that the bitrate is correct, and will not need to be re transcoded.
Bottom Line:
The same files in the same projects with the same assets in both 1.x and 2.0 will be treated in the same way. If one does not need to be retranscoded, neither will the other one.
(Unless you have set a low limit on the default "maximum bitrate" preference. Setting a maximum of 7Mb/sec there, and importing an MPEG encoded at 7.5Mb/sec will naturally retranscode the file.)

Upgrade to ECC6 & Unicode: IE Web Browser Issues?

Has anyone experienced web browser issues at display time? We are on IE7. We are now using the internal ITS. Our carriage returns are totally being ignored by the browser. Thus, we have a dropdown box to pick one of the businesses multiple partners, and because the HTML is not formatted correctly in the browser, the dropdown doesn't work, and we get an "array not created" error messsage in IE7.
I know that there are options in the IE 7 browser under the menu item "view". I've tried changing these to some different Unicode settings, but without luck.
Has anybody some experience with this issue?

this might be problem with Support package, by default Sap neweaver 2004s application comes with SP6, u can upgrade to higher SP to solve these type of problems.patch your system up to SP12 or SP13 and try.

Web Query issues

Hi All,
I have created a web query and assigned it to a role. I have moved the role, web templete and the query from dev to QA was able run the query fine without issues.
The problem I am having is when I make changes to the query and transport it to QA...when I run the query from the role menu it still shows the old query instead of the changed query.
Can someone please explain what are the steps I need to take when I make changes to exsisting web query in dev and move to QA and be able to see the changes. What are all the objects I need to collect. Also would like to know if there are any settings on the role menu or web templete that need to be changed and also any buffers that I need to cleared??

PS2010 shows by default the workspaces you have permissions to. Unfortunately, there is no more filtering options available.
The only solutions are to write a custom webpart, or develop your own SSRS Report, which you can customize the way you want.

Guest Anchor - Web Passthrough - Apple device web redirect issue

Hi All,
I've setup a Guest Mobility Anchor at DMZ with 5508 WLC. I've setup the EoIP mobility tunnel and everything works so far.
Now, I was testing multiple clients to connect to the Guest SSID and observed that Apple devices are not redirecting url, resulting unsuccessful connection.
I looked Cisco docs and added the command "config network web-auth captive-bypass enable" on the Anchor as recommended.
Even after executing the command, I'm still facing web redirect issue with Apple Devices. I don't have any issues with other devices, except Apple.
My controller running code AirOS 7.6.130.0. I'm using DMZ controller as DHCP server for Guests and public DNS servers as 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
How to solve this web redirect issue? Will a Third-party generated CSR solves the problem?

Hi All,
The issue was with WISPr Protocol with iOS Clients. After upgrading the AirOS Code on the controller to 8.0.100.0; the issue with Web Redirect is resolved.

Web contexts and http session

Is there anyway to share a HTTP session between 2 web contexts?
Both web contexts are running on the same server.
I wanted to redirect a user from one web context to another and the share
session so that
i don't have ask the user to authenticate again and share the session
content from the
previous web context.

Look at the J2EE / Servlet specs for "single sign on" discussions. I've
never tried it specifically, and I know from others that various releases
either did it by default or didn't seem to support it at all. What WL
version are you using?

How to ge rid of 'Enhanced menu (web context menu) entry?

Hi all,
Though showing ALL needed web context menu items (main properties of web template) the 'Enhanced menu' entry is still showing.
Did someone ever try to take it off?

Hi Mark,
You need select "No Display"
1 Goto VIEW Main Menu
2 Select Properties
3 Select the Relevant Report Name in Properties Widnow
4 And goto WebItem TAB find out "Enhanced Menu" And give "NO Display"
