11.2.0.2 XDB Install - DBMS_RESCONFIG - Invalid

Good morning/afternoon/evening all,
I'm having an issue with the XML DB install in a Linux 64bit 11.2.0.2 environment. I'm using Oracle's recommended procedures for installing XDB:
For Example:
SQL> @?/rdbms/admin/catqm.sql XDB XDB TEMP YES
SQL>@utlrp.sql
However, when I complete the install package XDB.DBMS_RESCONFIG is invalid with the following:
Compilation errors for PACKAGE BODY XDB.DBMS_RESCONFIG
#13#10Error: PL/SQL: ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected REF got CHAR
Line: 69
#13#10Error: PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
Line: 67
#13#10Error: PL/SQL: ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected REF got CHAR
Line: 181
#13#10Error: PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
Line: 179
Anyone else ever run into this. I removed the XDB and re-installed it without any luck.
Thank you,

Not sure if I have ever encountered it.
Can you tell a bit more regarding your database environment. Was it installed from scratch? Did you use DBCA to create it?. Is it a database which was once upgraded? What is the output from DBA_REGISTRY (view)? How big is your SGA / MAX_TARGET?

    Hi hgratz,
Considering 'invalid serial number' error for Acrobat 9, I would suggest you to please refer the KB doc link mentioned below:

Let me know if that helps.

  • Acrobat 9.0 install key invalid on 9.2 installation

    Hello,
I have just updated my Install Point to install as Acrobat Pro 9.2 and the installation package is telling me that my installation key is invalid.  The same key works fine when I install a 9.0 package.  I am an Adobe CLP customer.  The installation only goes as far as the Enter Product Key screen and when I click Next it tells me that my key is invalid.
I first tried installation from a GPO and it failed.  I next tried installation from the command line with the transform file and that failed.  Next I just ran the installer and that is when I figured out why it was failing.
Anyone have any ideas of what is going on?  Is there a different key that is needed for the 9.2 version?
    Thanks,
    Matt

Well if your oganization gets a new computer and wants to install Acrobat then why do a 9.0 install then a 9.1 update then a 9.12 update only to be followed by a 9.2 update?  Why not just slipstream all of the updates into a Automated Instalation Point then install the product from that installation point?
Adobe has documented how to create this Automated Installation Point.  But I am havinf trouble with the installation after this.

  • Can't install Logic, invalid key code that I know works

I bought Logic Express last year and I tried to install it today on my new refurbished iMac. I lost the instruction manual with the code on it so I looked up the license information on my old mac and wrote down the code, but when I tried to use that code it said it was invalid. Then I tried copying the program onto my external hard drive and then copying it again onto my hard drive on the mac, but it needed the code again and then said it was invalid.
Is this because I still have it installed on my old Mac? I tried to use migration assistant because I assume it was made for this type of thing, but it doesn't work either. I can't get a connection between the computers.

It's unlikely that having LE still installed on your old computer prevents you from using the code for installing it on the new one. Check if you copied the licence key right and its format first. Also, if you had your LE registered with Apple, you can get in touch with them via Support and retrieve your licence key, I guess.

  • 10.4 Update won't install.. invalid signature.

I'm trying to install the 10.4 update. It downloads the whole thing and then aborts installation due to an "invalid signature". It then says to try installing manually with the 'Download only' menu option. It does the same thing doing this.

I'm having the same problem with Windows 7 and cannot download direct from the website.

I googled this error and tried some of those suggested fixes -- nuking/reinstalling Air, etc. No success.

The latest release should resolve your install issue. Uninstall the previous version and try re-installing with the new version.

What is the BSOD STOP code?
If its 0x0000007B, then you need to install SATA drivers during XP setup. Search this forum area for "SATA" and you will find the instructions you need. Alternatively, you can simply enable "SATA COMPATIBILITY" Mode in the BIOS. You can enter the BIOS by pressing F2 at the Toshiba Boot Logo.

  • XDB install

    Hi All,
I need to install XDB manually for Oracle 11gR2. Its database was destroyed completely so I created it from scratch in sqlplus. According to [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e10492/xdb02rep.htm#i1011095] I ran catqm to install XDB. I created tablespace and temp tablespace for it, called the script with xdb user password, the two tablespaces and YES, but the script didn't create the XDB user and had several problems like view creation, packega body compiling etc. Do I miss something important?
Thank you in advance, best regards: Balázs

Not sure if I have ever encountered it.
Can you tell a bit more regarding your database environment. Was it installed from scratch? Did you use DBCA to create it?. Is it a database which was once upgraded? What is the output from DBA_REGISTRY (view)? How big is your SGA / MAX_TARGET?

  • Backup Restore after Lion clean install sets invalid user

I was recylcling an iMac ready for a new staff member and at the same time upgrading it to 10.7 Lion.  So I erased the disk and did a clean install of Lion from the Apple USB drive and then did a partial restore from a Time Machine backup disk - partial because I did NOT RESTORE ALL USERS and happened to exclude the user that was previously set as the default login.
On completion of the restore the computer hangs with a blank screen but is running as it beeps if you type anything - had to force down and restart.
On restart it came up with the usual user list and I successfully loggged in as the admin user so I could create a new user.
Whilst setting the new user login options I noticed that the restore had set the login user to the user who was previously set as the default login but that user had NOT been restored an no longer existed so I assume it could not boot into that user after the restore and hence the hang.
The restore utlity needs to check before setting the l;ogin info not just blindly copy it.

File a bug report or enhancement request with Apple. Alternatively, turn off auto-login before restoring from TM.

  • Installing fonts - invalid?

I purchased a new computer, and have to re-install several fonts I bought a few years ago. I found them in my order history and have downloaded and attempted to install a couple (Windows 7), but get a message something like "Unable to install. This does not appear to be a valid font."
Do fonts change? Might I have to buy them again?? I need about 6, so that runs into a fair amount of money ...
    Thanks for your help,
    Eva

Yes, yes and yes. Fonts do change as do operating systems and font usage and their licensing. If for whatever technical reason your old fonts no longer work, buying updated versions  is your only option, if you don't want to use others.

  • Send To Handheld keeps trying to install an invalid file.

I made the mistake of trying to use Send To Handheld to install a .wmv file. It gave me an error message saying that I don't have an application that is compatible with this file on my Palm. OK. I can't install that file on my Palm. However, it keep trying to install this file every time I sync my Palm. I have deleted the file from my computer and Send To Handheld still keeps trying to install the file. Each time I get the same error message. So, how do I get Send To Handheld to stop trying to install that file?
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

Unfortunately, no, I have not found a solution to this problem other than to make sure that the SD memory card is not in the memory slot when I sync. The installer is trying to install to that. So, if it is not available, it skips the attempt to install the incompatible file an syncs everything else.
It is really annoying that I can't find some other solution. One would think that the people who wrote these programs would know that some idiot would try to install an incompatible file with them and write in protections against that and/or a way to take the incompatible file out of the installation list. Back when I had to take a computer programing class in college, that was one of the things that they emphasized, idiot proofing our programs. The lab tutors were specifically told to try to crash our programs and if they succeeded, then we had to back and fix it so that it would happen again. It seems as if the people who wrote this program did not learn this lesson, as attempting to install an incompatible file is a fairly obvious potential error that should have been addressed.
