11.2 GI install failed due to lan setting

Hi,
env:Oracle 11.2.0.1 RAC,OS (HP IA)
I have installed a 11.2.0.1 RAC enviromnent with 2 nodes(test6 and test7). while use lan3 as public NIC,lan4 as private NIC.
for some reason I want to bond lan4 and lan6 as lan901 for cluster_interconnect.and I do as the document(
How to Modify Private Network Interface in 11.2 Grid Infrastructure [ID 1073502.1]),but I failed to start crs.
and then I uninstall the rac enviromnent manual .
after uninstall the rac(both database and GI software),I install the GI again, during the install stage, there are 3 NIC appear,I select lan4 as the private lan,lan901 as not used.
but at the end when I execute sh root.sh at test6,it produce some error.the following is about the error:

my question is :
if clear lan901 information ,the install can never select it as the private NIC,but how to clear it?

I reboot the server, all is ok.

  • How do I recover files when the install fails due to a damaged HD

While updating to Mavericks for Mountain Lion, the install failed. It stated that the hard drive was damaged. I ran disk utilities and the option to repair is not avalible. Prior to the install there was not a problem. I unfortantly do not have a back up to restore from.  Do any of you fine Apple supporters have any suggestions?

Emergency recovery of your data on your internal drive/SSD.
Can you boot in normal or Safe Boot mode (Boot Command-R)?
If so do so and run a Time Machine backup.
If you can’t run Time Machine, proceed below.
You will need a blank disk or a disk that you are willing to erase (a lose the data on it).
If you do not have one it is time to purchase one larger than your internal drive/SSD.
At this point your goal is to recover as much data as you can onto an external disk.
First, disconnect all unneeded peripheral equipment, including external drives.
(Use an external wired keyboard and mouse if necessary.)
    A)          Try to boot in normal mode (just press the power key).
If that won't work try to boot in Safe Mode.
                        • Press the power button and as you hear the bong, then hold down the Shift key.
If it does not work either way jump to B.
If it booted, from the Finder > Go > Utilities > Disk Utility, jump to C
(formatting the emergency drive) and come back to here.
              Go > Computer.
Double click on the system disk and then on the Users folder.
Drag your named user folder to to the recovery disk.
If that does not work double click on the named user folder
and try dragging each folder individually to the recovery disk.
Repeat for other users if there are any (logging into their accounts or an admin account).
If this works you have recovered your personal data.
    B)          Boot the recovery partition.
              • Press the power button and as you hear the bong, then hold down the Command and R keys.
If that won't work jump to E.
Once booted, click on Disk Utility.
    C)          To format (and erase) the destination recovery disk:
Plug in the drive you are about to erase.
Select the volume that is NOT your system disk.
              Click on Partition.
Pull down under Partition Layout to 1 Partition.
              Click on Options…
              Select GUID Partition Table.
              Name: Emergency Backup
Format: Select Mac OS Extended (journaled)
              Click Apply.
              Click Partition.
    D)          Drag and drop the named system disk to Source:
Drag an drop Emergency Backup to Destination:
              (Do not reverse these.)
Click Restore (the lower Restore button).
    E)          Seek expert help to test/replace the internal disk.
If it is an SSD then trash it.  DiskWarrior recovery from damaged SSDs is futile.
Save the ailing disk.  You might be able to recover data on it
buy placing it in an external enclosure and mounting it from a healthy machine
then using the Finder and/or DiskWarrior.
              http://www.alsoft.com/diskwarrior/
    F) Once your system is healthy again be sure to maintain two reasonably current backups.

  • Project Server Cumulative Update August 2013 install failed due to login issue/interruption

    Hi all,
I was in the process of running the installer (exe) for the August 2013 Cumulative update "uber" hotfix for SharePoint 2013 and Project Server today (KB2817615) on three servers. I was connected to the servers via Remote Desktop, logged in as the
    Farm account.
On one of the servers, somewhere during the installation, my Remote Desktop session got "hijacked" by another user who was not aware of the ongoing process..so he was logged in as the Farm account for a few minutes.
I logged back in and found that the install dialog was gone...apparently the install stopped due to the interruption in logins. So I attempted to re-run the hotfix installer, but it now says "There are no products affected by this package installed
    on this system."
I've tried clearing the timer cache and running the installer using "PACKAGE.BYPASS.DETECTION.CHECK=1" but neither has worked.
Any ideas on how this can be fixed or re-run?
    Thank you for your assistance!
    Regards,
    Kevin Worthington

    Hi Kevin,
Were you able to resolve this issue. I didn't have any interruptions or login issue, the installation cancelled itself!
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • ITunes install fails due to Error Code

I'm trying to install iTunes and I get the message Service 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start. Verify you have sufficient privileges to start system services. I then have 3 options - Abort - Retry - Ignore which provide no success. If I ignore it the installation process completes however it states that the installation failed 'Error Code 7 (Windows error 126)' re-install iTunes. I've tried running the download as administrator with no success.

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

  • [Solved] LXDE Install Fails Due To Disabled Key

    When I run:
    # pacman -S lxde
    I get this error:
error: lxdm: key "Daniel Wallace <his email address>" is disabled
    Later I get this:
error: failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package)
I'm assuming the second error is due to the first.
I did some reading and the way I understand it is that I don't need to do anything for this specific key since all five of the master keys have signed it. Do I understand correctly?
I've already done an update and I tried "pacman-key --refresh-keys" which did not help. Hopefully that wasn't a terrible idea. Also, I removed lxde from the cache and tried again with continued failure.
*marked as solved and edited out an email address.

Can I somehow copy the key database from one Arch system to another?
    EDIT:
    Ok, forget it.
Finally the following command sequence worked but only after deleting/moving the directory /etc/pacman.d/gnupg as suggested by the wiki page of pacman-key:
    pacman-key --init
    pacman-key --populate
    pacman-key --refresh-keys

  • Install fails due to ORA-12899: value too large for column

    Hi,
Our WCS 11g installation on Tomcat 7 fails giving a "ORA-12899: value too large for column".
As per the solution ticket https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocumentDisplay?id=1539055.1 we have to set "-Dfile.encoding=UTF-8" in tomcat.
We have done this beforehand by setting the variable in catalina.bat in tomcat 7 bin as shown below
But still we get the same error while installation.
If anybody has faced this , let us know how you resolved it

We were unable to install WCS on Tomcat 7 but on Tomcat 6 by specifying "-Dfile.encoding=UTF-8" in java options using "Tomcat Configure" it was succesful.
An alternative we found was to increase the value of the column itself.
    Using command
    ALTER TABLE csuser.systemlocalestring
    MODIFY value varchar2 (4000)

  • Install failed due to hard drive issue -- now can't start Mac

I downloaded and installed Mountain Lion, but about 5 minutes into the install it said it couldn't do it because of a hard drive failure. It then told me to restart and try again, which I did. It failed again for the same reason. This time I quit the installer and restarted. Now my Mac won't start up -- it gets caught on that first screen with the spinning icon.
How can I get my Mac back up and running?

    Hi David,
I am so sorry I could not post this earlier. It's too bad you replaced your drive. I hope you have not lost important data through this ordeal!
I also went to the Apple Store yesterday (as I am covered under Apple Care) and had a consultation with a 'genius' who very quickly concluded that I either had a faulty hard drive (which I knew was not the case) or the ENTIRE contents of my primary hard drive were corrupted. According to him, my only choice would be to reformat and re-install from scratch. I was also chastised for not backing up my data before attempting to upgrade to Mountain Lion. He was also very persistent in asking (multiple times) if I "understood technology". I was dismissed with the excuse that there were other people waiting for him and he could not waste his time on me - he actually said that while walking away... The store manager offered to direct my to a couple of companies near-by that would be able (for a hefty fee) to restore my data.
Anyways, this was not necessary. Despite the "corrupted data" error messages and the fact that the drive would not initially mount, the solution to the problem proved to be simple and my visit to Apple Store completely pointless.
This is what worked for me:
-- Use/borrow/buy (from Apple Store and then return for a refund) an external hard drive with firewire connectivity. The drive should have a fresh partition that you can erase and format as Mac OS Extended (Journalled) in Disk Utility.
-- Connect your mac to the Internet, preferably over Ethernet.
-- Restart the computer while holding the option key, select the Recovery Partition and begin the installation (in my case of Lion) by selecting to install on the freshly-created partition of the external hard drive.
-- Once that is done, you can actual start OS from the fresh partition by again holding the Option key at startup. In my case, as the drive was indeed healthy, it mounted without issues and I was able to simply copy->paste ALL my data (which the 'genius' insisted was corrupted and forever lost) on a separate drive.
-- After you back everything up, start up Disk Utility, erase and reformat the primary partition on your Mac (where you want the OS to be ultimately installed on) and repeat the installation process once again.
    Regards,
    Lena

  • Mountain lion install failed due to hard drive failure. It said I needed to repair the disk and I was taken to the lion recovery menu.

Unfortunately, and quite idiotically, I never made a back up of my files and the lion operating system before trying to upgrade. My main concern now is just making sure none of my files were lost because of the install failure. I don't know what to do from here because I'm afraid to make a mistake and never be able to recover them again. What can I do to restore my computer back to normal? When I look under Macintosh HD in the Disk Utility option on lion recovery, it seems as if it recognizes that all of my files are still intact, because about 200 GB out of 319 GB are used up on it. This correlates to the amount of files on my disk. Pleaseeee tell me I didn't just lose all of my files. Any help will be greatlyy appreciated!
    Sincerely,
    Mathew Smith

You only need the powered exernal drive, OS X reinstall is free to install on the external drive.
Hold the option key and boot from the extenral drive.
When OS X upgrades or installs (without a disk wipe first), it doesn't touch Applications and User account folders (only Apple programs) so as long as the drive and file system works, (even if OS X doesn't boot on that drive) the files can be recovered via normal drag and drop methods.
If you can't access the files normally, only then you will have to install Data Rescue on the external drive (another $100) to read the 1's and 0's of the non-encrytped files directly, bypassing the file system structure. Thus is the price for not making adequate backups.
    Most commonly used backup methods
In some major cities where there is a lot of computer tech support competition, you might be better with a local PC/Mac data recovery and restore service, saving you some money. But with the extenral hard drive you can then later make that a TimeMachine or clone drive, which you need anyway regardless.

  • 9.0.4 install fails due to listener.....HELP !!!

    HI ALL
I am trying to install 9.0.4 AS on Sun OS 5.8 with 9.0.2.3 already installed in separate home. I receive error - shutdown listener in 9.0.2.3 home or use same listener for 9.0.4 install as well.
I don't want to use same listener for new install. Now how can i change the listener port for new install. Is there any config file like port.ini, which i can change during install.
    Thanks
    Amit

Sometimes this type of error is caused by a corrupt file if you are sure permissions are OK.
Try running a disk check to see if that fixes anything.
If it doesn't try deleting the problem file. If that doesn't work try renaming it.
If Windows will not even let you rename it, try renaming the containing folder.
After that, try installing again, the installer should not see the bad file and hopefully it will go through OK.

  • Reader 9.3 Install fails due to Old, Unused IE version

I just tried to install Adobe Reader 9.3 (after removing 7.0.1) on Win2K Pro SP4Upd1.
I have not used IE for years, but V 5.5 SP2 is still on the machine.
Installation unpacked, immediately posted the following message, and terminated:
This version of Internet Explorer is not supported. You should upgrade Internet Explorer to version 6.0.2600.0 and run setup again. Setup will now terminate.
I use Firefox and, occasionally, Opera or Amaya. I do not want any updated IE on the machine.
Can someone point me to a workaround that that does not in involve upgrading IE? Perhaps a CLI option to run the installation manually after extracting the five Reader 9.3\Setup Files files from the downloaded exe (which I have already done).

The assumption that everyone wants an IE BHO, or a Firefox plugin for that matter, for Reader is presumptuous.
We, for example, do not read PDF documents in a browser. Some earlier versions of Reader did not force BHO installation.
    So, we have three choices:
    Install a different PDF reader.
This option was considered when the same installation problem was encountered when Adobe Reader 8 was announced and queries through Adobe's official channels received no response. We remained on v7.1 instead.
Patch the installation to ignore the IE version and install an IE BHO that cannot be used by IE 5.5.
Patch the installation to eliminate the forced installation of IE BHO by asking if it is wanted.
Option 1 is most likely result since it does not require any effort on our part.
Perhaps I shall spend an hour or so one day to implement option 2. But I currently have a device driver completion date approaching..
Adobe should spend 30 minutes one day to implement option 3 as a CLI parameter.

  • App Server Install fails - due to incompatible Message Queue

I had JES 2005 q1 installed in one of the test machines...now I am trying to set up JES 2005q4 on that. I cud install a Web Server on that ut when I tried to set up the App Server it throws up a msg stating that there is an incompatible version of Message Queue installed and hence installation cannot go ahead.
I am not able to find any instance of Message Queu setup....how do I detect and uninstall old versions of Message Queue??
    thx

I assume you are talking about appserver install on Solaris. Message Queue on Solaris is a package based install. The easiest way to uninstall the old version of MQ is: "pkginfo -i | grep Message" ---> "pkgrm all MQ packages".
