240 Page Limit

Does the 240 page limit mean actual physical pages or 240 page layouts (half of a front-back combination, resulting in only 120 actual pages in the book)?
Thanks for the help!

The number 240 refers to pages and not to sheets of paper.
This number does not include the front cover and the back cover and their "backsides", on which you can't put contents anyways.
In the Lr Book Module / Multi-Page View there are numbers below each page, and you can go up to 240.
You asked:
" .. or 240 page layouts (half of a front-back combination, resulting in only 120 actual pages in the book)?"
I thought it would be common knowledge that each paper sheet in a book has two (2) pages. Or, are you a philosopy professor?

  • Item "Start/stop table":  Counts towards 100 item per page limit?

One of my form pages has many items and aligning them all just right is quite a chore.
I found myself using lots of those handy "start/stop table" items instead of fighting with the colspan, rowspan, New Line/New Field attributes.
Question: Do these "start/stop table" items count toward the 100 item per page limit?
[I hope the answer is No]
    Thanks

Vikas - The answer is no. It's only when the counter gets incremented, e.g., between p_t01 and p_t02, ... You can see that the stop-and-start (not star/stop) items do not generate html items with such a sequence component.

  • Page limit on Threads?

Is there a page limit to a thread?
The Enthusiast2 thread is currently at 15 pages, but I'm getting thread notifications by email about new messages that don't seem to be there. The three links below are what I got this morning, but they go to earlier pages in the thread.

Using the Abort button to stop your VI is like using a tree to stop your car. It works, but there may be consequences.

And it gets stranger everytime I look at it. (maybe I should stop, but I can't help it!!)
I received another new message notification for the Enthusiasts2 thread. Clicked on the link in the mail and it brought me to the wrong page again. http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=130&message.id=872#M872
I then manually went to page 15 and scrolled to the bottom, and there was the new message, but the three older messages listed in the orignal post above were not there. Again, doing the sort made them appear in their proper place.
I just don't get it. Maybe I need more coffee. I just hope it's there when I go looking for it.

  • Problems with max number of items on a page limit?

I have a page with 106 items which submits fine but when I add another item (a text field) a page 404 error displays when I click the submit button. I had a look at [m-2399990] which mentioned that the "items rendered per page" limit is 100. I'm not sure whether this limit is the problem or not. I would greatly appreciate any help you can give.
    Many thanks,

    Hi Christopher,
i had a same problem, the solution was to break the single forum into two tab pages.

  • Proto Page Limit?

Does Proto have a page limit as I am unable to duplicate or add a new page after 16 pages?

Correct. 16 pages is the current limit

  • IPhone's 9 page limit

Would anyone know how to overcome the '9 page limit' on the iPhone 3G for storing apps on the home screen pages.. is there a way to enable extra pages within some options or advanced settings (or hidden options)?
The current 9 pages only is really frustrating and although maybe adequate for some users, it's not enough for my needs and for some of my colleagues whom would also like to store more apps on their iPhone's too, therefore I (& colleagues) need to know of a way of enabling more pages... no doubt there are other 'heavy App users/buyers' out there suffering this very same problem, maybe someone has already found a way of storing more apps.. please advise
One would have thought that it would be up to the 'paying user/purchaser' to decide how many applications they would want to store on the iPhone 3G and therefore having the initial capacity of maybe 'triple' the 9 pages initially on offer, for storing their treasured apps. Indeed as mentioned most people may only use four or several main pages of applications, but like myself there are many heavy users of iPhone 3G Apps whom no doubt have spent a lot of money on purchasing many more Apps, BUT unless I am doing something wrong, at the moment I can't get more than 9 pages on the iPhone 3G and I don't know what I'm missing or doing wrong! My colleagues/friends and I can't appear to find any setting for this, surely other heavy App downloaders must be suffering the same problem?
I'm not keen on being forced to continually remove apps on the iPhone 3G (which I don't want to do) in order to make room for new ones and then having to re-sync it time after time in order to have what Apps I wish to have available on my iPhone at any one time.
I currently have the 16GB iPhone 3G with all 9 pages full with apps and no room allowed for any other apps even though I have 10GB (yes 10GB) of free unused space remaining on my iPhone, and although I love songs and therefore have some albums stored as well as pictures and other stuff, I do prefer downloading and storing Applications, but this 9 page limit problem I'm experiencing is very frustrating.
I'm hoping there is and someone knows of an option to unlock a setting for extra pages, such as having a row of an extra 9 pages 'vertically above' the standard row AND another row of an extra 9 pages 'vertically bellow' the standard and therefore middle row.. if this is so, then I'd be over the moon (and so would my colleagues, when I show them how) because I could finally store more apps and if the option is as mentioned above then there would be a tidy structure where you are not too far away from the main home page i.e. you would never be more than 8 or 9 pages away horizontally and 1 page vertically from the main home screen.. how good would that be!
I have recently minimized and almost stopped buying and downloading new apps for the iPhone 3G because I can't store any more on the iPhone 3G at the moment as all 9 pages are full and I DON'T want to remove my current choice of apps unless someone has a work-around.. also this can't be good for developers of apps because they may inevitably be losing additional sales if others are suffering the same problem.. It would be very hard to believe if there isn't an option at all to store more apps because I don't believe Apple would be that crazy as to limit the iPhone 3G's ability in that way for apps and yet not for songs/albums/photos/video's'/emails, etc. etc.
Lastly, just a small note:- Please (host) can you refrain from removing my perfectly genuine, legitimate and fully entitled post, it is a genuine post that has now been unfairly removed 5 times so far, despited having just recently done a search and seeing for the first time that there are actually a 'huge' number of posts within this forum that are discussing the exact same topic as with my post, so what's different with my post? They all refer to their own frustration of the iPhone 3G's '9 Page Limit' problem, just as with my post, yet their posts have continually remained in the forums, yet my post on this exact same subject has been repeatedly and consistently removed time after time and I don't understand for what prejudice reasons this maybe happening or if its personal for some reason. All other posts on the same topic and subject rightly-so remain on the forums as should be the case with mine, because it is legitimately expressing concern and asking for help over a real (and apparently known) issue and that this forum is precisely for that.. A large number of topics may genuinely conclude to be feature requests, however without discussing it with other forum members, then a missed opportunity maybe overlooked for some unique member to disclose a temporary work around until the problem is resolved, because with the post repeatedly removed, that unique forum user may never get to see it. Also if there is huge ever-growing postings on one particular topic and problem, then there is enough awareness and discussions and noise for this to eventually get back to Apple and then maybe make Apple stand up and note that there is something that is considered quite important for faithful Apple User's that maybe needs resolving and addressing. However with my post being previously removed 5 times, I am not getting the right to freely put forward my legitimate problem and discussion as a post, I am/was of the understanding this forum is free and without prejudice towards any user and not to have any issues being hushed-up and overlooked. I have put the following links to other posts on the same subject that have not been removed:-

J.K. ROFLing - you state "Why anyone needs or can use more than 140 different apps on the phone, I cannot fathom"
My answer; why would anyone need more than 140 different songs? or 140 different photos? Each song is a different and unique experience and each application is a different and unique experience. You may not realize this but your reply is actually of a ranting nature. By all means all replies and suggestions are most welcome, all I ask is that they are not vindictive, demeaning or biased but instead are valid comments to an actual 'very real' problem being experienced on the iphone. After all can you really and genuinely say that you would be completely happy if there was a '140 song limit' only? and if you wouldn't be happy with that then why is it so different for me to be unhappy with a 140 application limit. Am I to be prejudiced and ridiculed because my taste and preference lies with applications and not so much songs. Do we persecute someone for liking the theatre more than the cinema? no we shouldn't is the answer. Therefore please by all means give a genuine reply that has good intentions.
If after some time there really is no possible remote temporary work-around to the problem (that no one else maybe aware of), then I'll remove the post myself if that pleases the moderator.

  • Briefing Book Page Limit

    Hello all,
I am in the process of creating briefing books so that a SPM UI demo can be presented to the client. I was wondering if anyone knew if there is a page limit when adding reports and dashboards to the Briefing book. We anticipate the client will be interested in this information so if anyone has general knowledge in the area this would be quite helpful.
    Kind regards,
    Danielle

    Hi Danielle,
We dont have any hard limit on the number of pages in the briefing book. Having said that please be aware that all the pages of briefing book are loaded at the same time along with the data so more number of pages will effect performance and the briefing book might become unusable after a certain point.
We havent done any scalability test on this however we have added 10-15 pages in a briefing book and that did not cause any significant performance degradation.
    Thanks,
    Divyesh

  • PDF exceeding page limit at 100 pages??

I am trying to export a pdf and it is telling me it exceeds the page limit and it will resize accordingly. I have saved the same document several other times and have not received this message. It is only 100 pages, so it does exceed the limit. I need to save this and I dont have much time. HELP!!

Not good. Sounds like you've been bitten by the bug that loses track of geometric bounds. Make a copy of the file for backup, then delete the "empty" pages and replace them with new ones (you can add them at the end of the story thread if you don't have un-anchored images on your pages), then reflow the overset text and replace any images that got lost. Do a Save As to a new file name and hopefully the file will be OK.

  • 9 page limit?

I have 9 full pages of application I got from the app store and now when I try to install another application it doesn't show up. Is this because of a 9 page limit or something? Is there a way I can fix this?

    Hi,
Yes, the number of home pages is limited (I actually thought it was 8 though) and I think you have found it.
Wow! Over a hundred and thirty apps! And you want more?!?!!

  • Blurb Books ONLY ALLOW 240 Pages. Please Help

I use the Blurb software to create Yearbooks, but ALL of our Yearbooks that we create in Blurb are over 240 Pages. We sell Hundreds of yearbooks created by Blurb every Year and this year it will be over in the 1,000's of Yearbooks. I would LOVE to use the LR features to create the Yearbooks, but I need more than 240 Pages. We normally average about 320 pages per book, with well over 1,500 images. How can we do this in LR4?

You are correct, that is a Blurb limitation for all papers except for the Lustre. So I now see what the issue is. Adobe should allow the STANDARD Paper as an Option for Printing. I only use the Standard for large yearbooks and Standard Paper has up to 440 pages. I know on the LR Beta Adobe Video it was stated that Adobe customers would not want the Standard Paper, but that is not correct. Blurb is one of the few companies that allow such high page counts and this is with the Standard Paper.
This is a HUGE issue for us, as we had over $30,000 in Yearbook orders between this year and last year. And I would love to intergrate to creating the yearbook with LR4.

  • Unnecessary page limit for Blurb book in Lightroom Book module

I'm posting this per Julieanne Kost's request following an email exchange regarding this topic.  I am in the process of making a photobook using Lightroom and discovered when I reached page 240 that I couldn't add any additional pages, much to my surprise.  I was surprised because I knew from Blurb's website that the limit for standard paper is 440 pages and mistakenly assumed that this limit would also apply within Lightroom.  I did more research online and found many others being surprised by this limitation after spending hours and days on a photo book.  I will likely work around this by exporting from Lightroom to .jpg and uploading to Blurb, but that will take extra time and effort and reduces the appeal of using Lightroom to create a Blurb book.  I had also tried exporting from Lightroom to .pdf only to find that the .pdf format exported by Lightroom is not compatible with the requirements of Blurb.
My recommendation in the short term would be for Adobe to warn Lightroom Book Module users up front that Lightroom's page limits differ from those if going directly through the Blurb website.
My recommendation in the longer term would be for the Adobe engineers to make whatever changes are necessary in the Lightroom code to allow for 440 pages when standard paper is selected (and more specifically to make the page limits match the limits of Blurb's actual books).  If there is any way to impress upon Adobe management the importance of this, I believe it would be greatly appreciated by many Lightroom/Blurb users.

I agree with that (though a 330 page Blurb book would break the bank :-)
I would also like to see the LR book module allow at least all the same Cover Templates as Booksmart does - I feel really constrained with both of them but much more so with LR...At least let us Drop a Full bleed finished cover on to the front and back covers!
Lately, I do all the page making in PS, move to LR to manage the page numbering and then export to jpg and ingest to Blurb to make my books...pretty kludgy, isn't it?

  • Is there a page limit for a PDF?

I thought this would have been asked, but nothing came up in the search.
I'm trying to compile a font book and we have over 10,000 fonts, so if I have a display page per font, that's way many pages.
    thanks!

Distiller 8 seems to max out at around 1 million pages. I have seen PDFs with more than 1 million pages created by other tools.
The real limit is file size: 2 GB until a while ago (IIRC until Acrobat 7), close to 10 GB by now (due to the cross reference table not being able to use byte offsets larger than what fits into 10 digits).
So one may reach a limit not because of maximum number of pages but because of maximum file size (max. byte offset values in xref table). Though I bet you are not even close to a single GB with your font book...
