3d/Bevel effect in Scheduling gantt task bars

Hi,
We are using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.0.0 and WLS 10.3.5
We need to improve on the look and feel of our scheduling gantt application in adf.
Right now the taskbars do not have a 3d/bevel effect to them.
Could anyone suggest any docs/Links for this requirement.

The following link shows a Project Gantt with icons (as well as labels). You can select one of inner icon alignments (innerLeft, innerCenter, or innerRight) to place the icon inside the task bar. The Scheduling Gantt works exactly the same way, so you can look at this Project Gantt sample as an example.

If you always want the icon to be placed innerLeft, for example, you can set the attribute to "innerLeft" instead of pointing it to a backing bean method:

In our scheduling gantt application we need to create background bars for tasks.
Background bar shows the shift duration for a resource.,While the foreground bars show the task duration.We are able to create the foreground bars but need guidance regarding the BG bars.
Any suggestions are welcome.

An addendum to this issue. I notice that if I move the splitter divider at all, the scrollbars appear. So, as a workaround, does anybody know of an event handler that will allow me to move the splitter position programmatically?

Adf gantt chart: how to drag the task bar to another date

hi all,
how can I drag the task bar to another date in ADF Gantt Chart.
do I need coding(like handler DataChangeEvent in dataChangeListener),
or just set some properties.

We are unable to drag the gantt bars in our application. Initially this used to work fine and we used to get a call back for the action type TIME_CHANGED in the data change event. But now neither we are getting handle around the bars for expanding/collapsing them nor we are getting any callback for this event.
Looks like if the Edit feature is added in the featuresoff attribute of gantt then the gantt becomes un-interactive. Is there a way by which we can remove the Edit menu but still be able to drag/expand/collapse the task bars?

Menu commands for Scheduling Gantt

I'm trying to add my own custom commands to a Scheduling Gantt on my page. I have some questions/comments.
1. I can add items to the tablePopupMenu facet, and they show up fine and my listener gets executed. How can I find out what resource was selected when this event fires, and/or the IDs of all of the selected resources? The actionEvent has very little information in it and is just generic. Do I need to tell it somehow that it is a "resource" event?
2. I have added items to the chartPopupMenu facet, and they show up fine on the menu, but the listener is not called when I click the menu item. This seems like a bug but maybe I'm just doing something wrong.
3. I would have thought that whatever menu items I add to these popup menus would also be added to the "Resource" and "Task" menus on the menu bar, but they're not. How can I add my own menu commands there?
4. Is it possible for me to change the text that displays for the "Resource", "Task" and "View" menus? We have a legacy language translation system that I need to use to get the menu choices.
Any and all advice appreciated!

Can no longer open two Firefox tabs, have close using Task Bar/Processes. Some links won't activate on websites. As per support suggestion,have backed up profile, deleted existing profile, removed firefox and replaced thingsetc

Can no longer open two Firefox tabs at the same time. Will disappear from screen but won't close - have to go to Task Bar/ Processes to close it, some links won't activate on websites. As suggested in the support area I have gone through the process of backing up my profile, deleted existing profile, removed firefox from computer, reinstalled profile in fresh folder, reinstalled firefox 6. I have done this twice for no effect - may work as it used to for a while (30mins) then gets back to its old tricks.
It is a bit irritating.

Sure. There is at least one non-Apple program that does what you describe, but it modifies OS X and as such I am not willing to recommend it. If you want to do that anyway, search for a program called "Mail Unread Menu", but beware that software not obtained from the Mac App Store involves a degree of risk due that only you can decide to accept.

How to create scheduled GANTT with subresources?

Hi,
Jdev 11.1.1.2.0
I want to create a scheduled GANTT where the first column contains a group name and the second column the name of the resource.
I could found examples for project GANTT where the first column is a group which can be collapsed.
But not for scheduled GANTT.
I tried with subResources too but it seems I can only a display attributes from resource view in the list on the left side of the scheduled gantt chart.
Any ideas?

Windows will scale applications display or windows will not scale application display depending on how the application is coded. Photoshop is coded in a way that its display is not scaled by windows. Photoshop knows about your displays high pixel count not its resolution so it uses its pixels however it does not scale its UI to make it usable on your display. Other application let Windows scale their display output.   For example Microsoft default for is Surface Pro 3, 216 ppi display is to scale applications display up 150% so the surface pro 3 display which has 2160x1440 pixels a 216 ppi resolution look like at display with the user is using with 1440x960 pixels. The Application works like the display is 1440x960 and Windows scale those pixels to the displays using the displays 2160x1440 pixels the effectively changing it resolution to 144ppi rather than the actual 216ppi.
The reg update and external manifest file effectively tells photoshop its working on such a size display display some number of pixel wide and some number photoshop uses that as the display size in turn Windows scale those pixels to use the displays 2160x1440 pixels efector lowing its 216ppi resolution. Photoshop CC 2014 2X UI would be like using windows 200% option applications would be shown the are working on a display 1080x720 instead of the Surface Pro 3 2160x1440. Note that 1080x720 does not meet PS requirement of 1024x768. Photoshop UI would not fit on the Surface Pro 3 display..
Since you have a 4k display if you have CC 2014 you can use its 2x UI effectively Photoshop will be running on a 1920x1080 display and have half the resolution of you 4K display 3840x2160 pixels four native pixels are use as a single pixel.   1920x1080 pixels exceed PS requirement.

Scheduled Planner tasks and control validity

Use case is outlined below:
Local Control A is valid from 1/1/14 to 12/31/14. I'm trying to schedule a planner task with activity 'Test Control Effectiveness' for this local control. The task being scheduled is a recurring task starting from 1/1/15 to 1/1/17. As can be seen the planner task start date is post the 'Valid To' date of the control. So, essentially the control is not active during the duration for which the planner task is scheduled for. The system did not show an error message. Is this expected behavior? Also, even after I delete the scheduled planner task, I can no longer revise the 'Valid To' of the local control.
I'd appreciate any document that outlines the pre-requisites for selecting object(s) within different planner tasks.

I don't know what Control-M is, but if it can invoke a java task, then it can connect to OIM and start the scheduled task.
A scheduled task doesn't have to be run within OIM. The scheduler within OIM simply provides a way to invoke the java code that performs tasks or Recons within OIM. So long as your system can run java to connect to OIM and run some code, you can run it in whatever way you'd like.

I have been trying to figure out what causes this error to occur because from my first debugging results I am thinking it is due to some problems with the Data it is trying to render because for certain date range the gantt chart renders properly but for others this error occur. I have had a look at the data for the correctly rendered date range and I did not notice anything unexpected.
I would really appreciate if anyone as any suggestion on what maybe causing the error or if there are any samples of scheduling gantt based on a Business Component object. I have looked at the examples in the dvt demo but the chart are base on a Backingbean generated model.

Thanks for the help I carried on looking at the data rendered and find out what you said was correct so I am fixing the BC object to return the total duration of a task (spanning over various days instead of returning each daily task).

Java Task Bar always on Top

I need to be able to create my own task bar which is a Frame that will be positioned
always above the Windows task bar and will never be obscured by the windows of other
appications (Task Manager accepted).
I have seen many postings on tis group what explain how to have a frame always on top
but how can I state where on top with reference to the task bar?

I dont want to get rid of the task bar but to be able to create an own window which isn in effect
an own task bar that sits directly above the existing Task Bar if it is visable or if not, then it sits along
the bottom of the screen mimicing a task bar but with the controls that I want to provide fo rmy specific

Missing parts of task bars Part 2

Same problem again - is it just me ? Parts of the task bar seem to disappear yet the task finish date is showing correctly and the subsequent tasks are also correct ?

It would help if you let us know what view you have applied where you see the problem. The view you show looks vaguely like the Tracking Gantt view, but I really cannot tell. So, please let us know what view you are showing in the screenshot.
It would also help if you let us know the Task Type applied to the task in question. Is this task a Fixed Duration task, by chance? Please let us know about that as well.
Regardless, to piggyback on the excellent answer from Guillaume, double-click anywhere in the white part of your Gantt Chart pane to display the Bar Styles dialog. In the Bar Styles dialog, you should see one or more styles that include the word Split
in the style name. For example, in the regular Gantt Chart view, the second bar style is simply called Split, and there are bar styles called Rolled Up Split, Inactive Split, and Manual Split. In the Tracking Gantt view, there are bar styles called
Critical Split, Split, Manual Split, Baseline Split, Rolled Up Critical Split, and Rolled Up Split.
The purpose of these styles is to draw the split indicator (...) in the Gantt bars of tasks of that type. For example, if you have a task that is Fixed Duration, and the work finishes early, Microsoft Project 2013 draws a task split indicator at the
right end of the Gantt bar in the Gantt Chart view and the Tracking Gantt view. If you remove the bar styles that include the word Split, then you do not see the slit indicator and the Gantt bar is shorter than the Finish date indicates, which is your
situation exactly.
So, to follow up on the excellent advice from Guillaume, please look at the Bar Styles dialog for the view in question and let us know if you see the bar styles that have the word split in their name. Let us know what you find and we will try to help
you.

Task bar is gone

I lost my task bar. What is the correct resolution needed to get it back?

Did you try setting the DPI Scaling to 100% as explained in this adobe kb?
Menus missing | Elements Organizer | Windows
Decrease the DPI Scaling in Windows to the default setting of 96 dpi.
Windows 7
Close all applications.
Do one of the following
ChooseStart > Control Panel > Display.
Right-click the Desktop and choose Screen Resolution. Then, select Make Text And Other Items Larger Or Smaller.
Choose Smaller - 100% (Default).
Click Apply.
When you are prompted, click Log Off Now.
After you have been logged out of your Windows user account, log back in to your account. The changes take effect once you have logged back in to your account.

How do you uninstall the wireless service and lenovo battery indicator from the task bar.

Was wondering if there is a way to remove them from the taskbar. Initially I had just the battery indicator and then I downloaded all the lenovo updates (for bios, etc.) and got the wireless service indicator too. They seem kind of redundant to me, as windows 7 already has their own on the task bar and they're just taking up additional space.
I'd atleast like to get rid of the wireless service.
Will this effect anything? Are they that important?

Right click on the Lenovo battery gauge in the taskbar, click "Launch Power Manager", click Options, clear "Show Power Manager Gauge in taskbar" check box. If Options tab is not available, switch to Advanced mode (upper right corner of Power Manager).
Don't recall specifics for Lenovo network icon, but is probably just as simple. Would be better (IMHO) to get rid of Access Connections altogether.
Removing the icons will have no affect on anything, except your piece of mind from removing these ugly and redundant symbols of bloatware. They are NOT important.
