3d fx

hello illustrators
how about some 3d fx upto date in illustrator,i always try to make objects trying ot give them the right light source and shading, imagine a feature in
illustrator that can add like lights omni, spotlights etc etc and give various refelctions to an object, how cool would that be rather than importing each time
into any other 3d application.in general i feel very secure using illustrator and would like if adobe can enhance its 3d fx.
best regards.

Sounds to me like you're looking for Boris FX. Check out www.borisfx.com. They have a 3D effect that is unmatched. It allows you to rotate on each axis, called Spin, Tumble and Rotate. A combination of these is what you would use.
The only other thing I would suggest is Adobe After Effects for what you want to do, but After Effects is much more expesive than Boris FX for FCP. Also, the Boris FX takes place almost right inside FCP, and the learning curve isn't nearly as steep.
