3rd Party Apps - Shortcuts not working

While working in Illustrator and FreeHand, I used to be able to hold down the shift to select multiple items, or hold down the space bar to move around a page. That was when I had G4. Now on the MacBook, these features do not work.
Do I need to set up something in the settings to allow this to work again?

I have turn quite all ON since i don't plug any screen/keyboard/mouse on the slave machine since i control it from the main machine.
So:
-screen sharing: on
-files sharing: on
-remote session: on
-remote control: on
-Xgrid sharing: on
and all other: off
No firewall or so.
THAT'S THE PROBLEM.
Turn off all this stuff, you're using too much ethernet bandwidth. Node needs ALL the available bandwidth to work properly.

3rd Party Apps No Longer Work After Update

I just got my iPhone today and installed a few apps, Cube and GuitarChords. Both apps were working fine earlier. Later I connected the phone to my PC and it requested that I perform an update to v2.2, which I did. After the update, neither app would start. When I pressed the icon, it seemed to start for a few seconds then went back to the main screen. I reinstalled the apps and GuitarChords worked, but Cube still wouldn't start. I then did a hard reset (holding home and lock button) and now neither app will open again. All the apple apps start fine. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get the apps working again?
On a similar note, how would you guys rate the stability of the iPhone at this time. I mostly use my phone for business, so if it's still pretty buggy I'd like to return it and get back on my Win Mobile phone for now. Thanks in advance!

IT DID IT AGAIN!!!
I didn't change or update anything. I was using the Touch Term ssh client this morning and it was working fine. I tried using Win Admin later this afternoon and it wouldn't start, none of the 3rd party apps would. Again I tried the soft and hard resets. I even tried resetting the phone in the general menu. After looking around online, I see that this is an extremely common issue. I'm going to return the iPhone tomorrow and have my Tilt reactivated.
I don't know if Apple monitors these forums, but if so they should take note; if they intend to make a dent in the enterprise market, stability needs to be a top priority. Sure, Windows Mobile doesn't have a very pretty or friendly interface, but it's quite reliable. In the year that I had my Tilt, it crashed once, and that was the fault of buggy software I had installed. Honestly, this being the first Apple product I've personally owned leaves a poor impression of the brand. I know Apple can do better, I manage several Macs at work and I almost never get support calls from those users. I really like the iPhone, and hopefully Apple can get their priorities straight and work out the issues, as I would like to give it another go in the future.

I recently purchased a 4S. I now have 2 files in my iCloud both with my name. One from my 3gs and one from my 4S. The problem is the data history of all my games and 3rd party apps did not transfer over to my 4S. Is there a way to merge the two in icloud?

I backed up my 3gs to the iCloud and when I synced my 4S, it did not transfer my game histories or my 3rd party app histories. When I look at my iCloud storage, it shows both phones under the same name. Is there a way to merge them together in iCloud? I tried adding the account to my 4S but since they are both named the same, it says I already have that account added! Help!!

Assuming you have finished with your old backup.....
You can see what your iCloud storage is used for and delete any unwanted content at settings > iCloud > backup & storage > manage......

Third party apps are not working at all.

It's weird that all my installed apps were not working today. When i taped on an app, there was a suddent sparkling, nothing else happened and backed to the home screen. I could find the app I just open at the background. but every original app comes with the phone was working properly. I also went to a local apple store for solution since I didn't really want to restore the phone and reinstall any apps, but finally I had to to restore my phone. So disappointed that Apple has no other solution to fix this problem but need to restore the phone. When I asked what would cause this problem, they just told me this problem usually happened and suggested me to restore it in order to make it work.

Adobe Muse form with 3rd party host is not working

I have uploaded a form with Adobe Muse to a 3rd party host. Upon testing the link scripts/form_check.php, I see 3 green checkmarks. Upon testing the form, the form appears to submit successfully, however I never receive the email.
I checked with the hosting company and this is what they said:
...this form is using localhost smtp of webserver which was stopped due to spamming issues...actually, localhost doesn't have proper rDNS record and the return path for all mails is the server itself, so whenever a client uses its domain for spamming the server's mail queue gets choked and creates issues for others. So we generally do not open localhost smtp and recommend users to use proper SMTP Authentication so that each mail will be delivered and won't create issues for server even if someone does spamming because in that case all mails will bounce back to the mailbox. So, we recommend you to use smtp authentication in the form and use proper smtp details to send mail.
Please provide a recommendation on what I should do to resolve this? Is there a way to modify the form so that it uses proper SMTP Authentication instead of Localhost?

3rd party earbuds/phones not working with new Nano

So, I've got a new Nano ( a couple months old at this point ), and the earbuds that came with it got accidently trashed.
No worries, because I've got several other sets of earbuds / headphones kicking around.
The problem is that with all of them, the sound keeps cutting out / playback stops. I'm fairly certain that this is the iPod detecting "no headphones" and stopping playback.
It happens whenever the plug flexes; it's as if the jack briefly loses contact with the internal connectors.
Since I usually keep my iPod in my pocket, this happens quite often.
I don't know whether the new Apple earbuds (with volume control/mic) would react the same way; I won't buy them, because I can't have them at work (anything with a microphone is banned).
Anyone have thoughts / help?

Ok, more follow-up.
Roommate had a pair of iPod buds that he'd never used, and let me have them.
There are marked differences between the iPod 3.5 mm jack and a "standard" 3.5 mm jack.
The standard 3.5 mm jack has three sections, tip, middle, and call it 'core'.
The iPod jack has 4 sections, tip, middle, core 1 and core 2.
The seperator for each of the common sections (tip to middle/middle to core(core1)) are at the same place.
I suspect that the "core 2" is how the the iPod/iPad/iPhone uses the microphone.
No big deal, except I can't have a microphone, at all, period, at work. Absolutely forbidden (if I want to keep my job).
Breaking out the micrometer (yes, I own a micrometer), it looks as though the iPod jack is a lot closer to the 3.5mm tolerance, than the standard one, which may be the issue. That is, the core1/core2 sections are 3.5mm exactly, whereas the 3rd party jack is 3.46mm. I wouldn't think that would make enough of a difference, but apparently it does.
So, I'm back to my starting point:
Is there an "approved for iPod" set of headphones that doesn't have a microphone built in?

AU Manager Crashes, Standard 3rd party plug-ins not working

I recently had a huge crash, down to the point where I eventually replaced my system drive with a brand new one, and started fresh.
After rebuilding my entire world, plug-ins that used to work, don't anymore - and they're standards that everyone uses (Kontakt 2.1, etc). I can't even get the AU Manager to load.....Logic just sits there forever with "the beach ball of death" untill I force quit.
Nothing "new" has been introduced. I've simply replicated the system I had before down to the T.
Any thougts?
I'm on 7.1.1 in 10.4.4
G5 2x2, LAP 7.1.1, 10.4.2, 4.5 gigs

Try removing all 3rd party plugins and see if Logic works by itself.
Add the plugins back to the components folder one by one, testing to see if they behave.
Sorry to hear about your crash, I have had this happen to me and it was a week of pain.
It really made me wish all plug ins were authorized on dongles, so that something like carbon copy cloner would have saved the day.

3rd party email will not work

I have a 3rd party software that emails users on request. When we were using Office 2003 we did not have a problem. I am not sure that the issue is with the version of office, but I do know that there are many more security items in the newer versions. I
need to find out if there is something within outlook 2007/2010 that would prevent a 3rd party software from sending an unsecure email. This is all internal, the emails are not being sent out. We do have the correct information (mail server/port 25) in the
3rd party software setup. The error is:
The e-mail was not sent to the individual for the following reason:
A communication error occurred with the mail server.
Service not available, closing transmission channel. Ther server response was: 4.3.2 Service not available, closing transmission channel.
Any ideas?

Hi,
Please check your antivirus software settings and your firewall settings. Try to temporarily disable them and then test the issue again.
The error message would indicate that the mail server itself is rejecting the connection. If you are using an Exchange server, please try adding your server IP Address to the field "Receive mail from remote server that have this IP Address". You
can find the setting by going to: Server Configuration > Hub Transport > "Default SERVERNAME" > Network tab > "Receive mail from remote servers that have this IP Address".
In addition, you can contact the third-party software support to confirm that if you need to change any setting in newer version of Outlook.

Just purchased "Wild West Quest" at App Store. App does not respond to trackpad. Will not go full page. Force quit only by holding down on button. App Store lists developer website www.anarchyent.com but browser cannot find that url address. Have OS X ver 10.8.5

You can also contact the manufacturer on Facebook, Twitter & Tumblr. Did you try those places also? Did you check for a phone #? Search Google & Bing if you have to!

3rd party app will not install-Says to install AIR but it is already installed

I am trying to install two desktop apps using AIR. One is tweetdeck.com and the other is twirl.com When I click the icon to download I get:
Something went wrong trying to install this application. Please install the latest version of Adobe AIR. The thing is AIR is installed. I even reinstall AIR and try again, same thing. I am running Vista Pro 64 bit. I have the exact same setup at home and I am not having this problem it is only happening on my work machine. How can I check the see if air is installed properly?

That can happen if you have a copy of an ML installer for earlier version - 'Install OS X Mountain Lion' , also if
/System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist
is giving info to software update/app store which makes it seem that an update is needed.
If you've no copy of the Installer, see what that plist contains... Textedit can open them, usually; or Quicklook will show you what's inside.
Here, for 10.8.3, it contains:

[Solved] Xfce4.8: App shortcuts not working after update

Hello,
since pacman upgraded my Xfce to 4.8, my application shortcuts are no longer working. I especially need them to emulate a third button with Super_L and bind the netbook function keys for audio volume/muting to amixer calls. I already tried to rebind all shortcuts, but that didn't help. Any ideas?

Edit2: Solved it. Apparently I lost xfce4-settings-helper during the migration from 4.6. So I restarted it manually and then saved my session.

I am not bothering with windows 10 my friend, it is too much of an newbe baby at the moment and there are just too many bug fixes need doing in my opinion. I did manage to get my dolby home theatre to work again in windows 10, but it was an awful dulled down version with only half the features of the original that came with the version that was on my pc. My plan is to stick to windows 8.1 until it's death. When they withdrawl all the security patches for windows 8.1 and it becomes obsolete, then I will be forced to trash my pc again and go to windows 10, was not much fun mind spending 3.5 days putting everything back to its former state. Hope they do make windows 10 more stable and fix a lot of the bugs. I tried opening videos and pictures in windows 10.... result = missing element errors.... and error, error, error,,, So I think I will wait until 28 July 16 to when the last day of my free upgrade and reservation to windows 10 becomes mandatory. IMAC Partitioned Drive 3rd Party S/W Not Working

I partitioned my Hard Drive to load Yosemite (could not upgrade to it otherwise).
Now I find that I cannot use third party software such as Office as it appears in the other partition's Applications and not those on the dashboard. When I copied Word to the dashboard it claimed it was not properly installed and I would have to reinstall it. Perhaps this is a Yosemite problem but I believe that it is more likely to be a residue problem from the partitioning. Any ideas?

Checking to make sure she has the right verizon.net password is as easy as logging into verizon.net - If it works, that's the right password. If not, you may need to reset it via the "Forgot Password" link or contact tech support to have it reset.
Based on what I can find on Earthlink's website, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to use their outgoing servers though. Their outgoing server uses port 587 and should work, even on a Verizon connection.

Photo- Edit in option to edit in a third party app. is not working

In the Develop module, when I go to the Menu Option Photo -> Edit in, normally LR2 created a TIFF file and uploaded it in the third party application for further editing. However, since yesterday, I am getting an error window with the following text. Lightroom was unable to prepare the selected file at /Volumes/Media Disk/Pictures/2008/2008-11-09-Gstaad/Switzerland_7682.CR2 for editing. It will not be opened. I do not recollect changing any parameters.
Can someone help me sort this out.

It appears LR is not getting access to the Drive/Folder where the original file is located. (/volumes/Media Disk/Pictures....)? were the original files copied to a hard drive?

Airplay on Apple TV not working after upgrading to iOS 8 (3rd Party Apps)

I hope someone can help me with this issue.
After upgrading the iPhone 5 and iPad 2 to iOS 8.1, as well as upgrading the Apple TV to the latest version, I now end up with ** some ** videos as well as photos that can't be played over AirPlay on 3rd Party Apps. (Note: I have no issues with 'mirroring' from the iPad to the AppleTV though.)
1.   It can play .mp4 and .mov files;
2.   It could NOT play .mkv or .avi files - there's audio but NO video
3.   It can play the photos and videos from Apple's own apps (i.e. 'Videos' and 'Photos') however (i.e. with both audio and video)
4.   It could NOT display any photos from 3rd Party Apps
5.   This is happening to more than one 3rd Party Apps (i.e. no display of photos; and no video though there's audio)
Fyi, I've emailed to the respective Developers, but after reading some of the threads in this forum, I suspect that the root cause could be with iOS 8 (as well as the latest software update to AppleTV) as I didn't have this problem at all under iOS 7.
Anybody has any solution?
