4:3 Export Query from Premiere Cs4

Hi there.
Im looking for some advice on best export setting from premiere please.
Basically I am making some visuals for a 12x9 screen and the visuals have to fit exactly onto the screen as there is a certian degree of mapping going on. I am editing using the project settings DV PAL 48khz
I'm wondering is it better to export as
720x576 (D1/DV pal 1.0940)
or
768x576 (square pixels 1.0)
I am a bit confused as to which will fit exactly to a 12x9 screen
I will be playing the visuals Directly from my laptop via Vga cable.
Any advice is welcome thanks!

Sorry I dont understand. Do you mean the resolution of my source media?
It is all of varying sizes and resolutions but I am editing in a 720 x 576 sequence. All of the footage is being scaled up or down (depending on the size) to fit  exactly (hopefully) the 12x9 screen
I Have put in a 4:3 guide frame in the preview window to lay clips on. This leaves a small black border at either side as a I am not editing in a 4:3 sequence I suppose.

  • Cannot export media from Premiere Pro CS4

I am unable to export media from premiere pro cs4. The process I go through is as follows
select files/sequence I want to export
    select file menu
    scroll down to export
    select media
nothing happens, premiere pro "freezes", as though it was going to open up adobe media encoder but does nothing, premiere pro can be "unfrozen" simply by pressing esc.
I have tried doing all of this with media encoder open and still nothing happens. if anyone has any suggestions please throw them my way. thanks.

Buenos dias, komrads! Just a few days ago I found rather trivial trouble exporting video from Pemiere CS4. Here they are:

    >>Attention<< Here is the quesition: How can I get the quality of the first video (A. shvi531.mp4) but without borders. Than this video go straight to youtube.
    Sea God bless you, guys!
P.S. I searched up this forum, but didn`t find the troubleshoot.
With love from Dominican Republic, Ilya.

Maybe try starting project with the same exact dimensions etc of your source footage and then export the same settings ? It's kinda tricky sometimes due to frame ratios ( 4:3, 16:9 etc ) and specs for ntsc or pal etc.. but if you use desktop custom settings you might be able to do what you want ...for youtube...
I didnt look at the samples you posted cause of my security settings.
    good luck !

  • Exporting JPEGs from InDesign CS4

I've exported jpegs from InDesign CS4 for years and each time I get an Export JPEG dialog box that gives me the option to adjust the resolution. Suddenly, when I export to JPEG, I get no dialog box and it automatically creates a JPEG at 300 dpi. I've looked everywhere in Preferences to see if I inadvertently changed settings, but I find nothing. Help?

  • Exporting workflow from PP CS4 for intermediate files

    Hi there,
I have native footage from Sony EX1 (mp4 or MXF container with mpeg 2 long GOP codec) which I cut and slightly filter/modify in Premiere Pro CS4.1.
Most times I shoot in 1080/50i (yes, I need that format) and need both: FullHD for Blu-ray and PAL-SD for DVDs of the same footage.
Most of you will confirm, that simply downscaling with AME gives terrible results. So I use eg. Dan Isaacs great workflow with VDub and AviSynth to deinterlace and downscale and then encode with TMPGEnc Xpress for DVDs. This gives somehow good results but I am unsure, if I am doing right.
Here is the problem: CS4 does not allow debugmode frameserver anymore so I have to render an intermediate file for further use eg with AviSynth.
But how do I get fully valid intermediate video files out from CS4? Uncompressed AVI is pure horror, its slow rendering, even on an i7-PC, and giant in file size. I would like to export with HuffYuv or Lagarith codec, for example. But everybody says, EX1-footage is, as all HD footage, TopFieldFirst. When exporting "Microsoft AVI" with those codecs one has to choose BottomFieldFirst - all other tries result in black video. I assume only BFF is valid in Microsoft AVI, somehow.
I would like to use Cineform but converting footage with NeoScene is only possible from HDV/AVCHD-camcorders and when exporting with its codec as Microsoft AVI it has the same BFF-only-problem. And I cannot afford NeoHD which would do my job perfectly with EX1-footage.
How the heck do you export HD footage (with TopFieldFirst) for further use from PP CS4, please?
Any hint is appreciated, at the moment I am lost,
    thanks a lot in advance!

    Hi Ann,
I use MPEG2 as the codec.  When you set M and N frames to 1 in the export settings dialog, you get an I-frame-only MPEG file.  That's essentially an intra-frame compression as opposed to MPEG2 DVD encoding, which is a temporal, inter-frame compression (and very lossy).  When I set the bit rate for the I-frame-only MPEG2 file to 100 Mbps, it's visually lossless.  I set the Profile to 4:2:2 to preserve the color data and the Level to High to allow the very high bit rate.
Sources for my tests have been AVCHD footage from a Panasonic HMC-150 camera (not mine, unfortunately!) and some AVC and MPEG2 HD transport streams.  I've tested 1080i60, 1080p24, 1080p30, 720p60, 720p30 and 720p24.
I don't use MRQ to export the intermediate because no scaling or deinterlacing needs to be done to the HD footage.  The intermediate file gets exported at the same frame size and field order as the source.  All of the scaling and deinterlacing (if necessary) is done by the hd2sd script in AviSynth.  So my intermediate exports run just a bit faster than real time on my 8-core system.
(Big kudos again to Dan Isaacs not only for the hd2sd script, but for giving me the proper settings for the MPEG2 intermediate export.)

  • Why no bit-rate control when encoding from Premiere CS4?

Recently upgraded to CS4 from CS3 on my HP-9300 workstation. When encoding for DVD from the Premiere CS4 timeline I've noticed that there are no options for adjusting bit-rate. This functionality was available for the PC on CS3, why is it missing from CS4? Am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks.
    Spencer

    PC.
    Win 7.
When you export (File\Export\Multimedia Files) a window appear, and you click on Video (just under your encoding spec.).
A wider window appears and if you scroll down a bit you'll see your bitrate settings, of course you can modify them.

  • Problem when exporting audio from Premiere Pro v4.2.1 into wave 5.1 format

    Hello to Adobe experts!
After installing of last updates for Adobe Premiere Pro (v4.2.1) and for Media Encoder (v4.2.0.006) the was a problem:
Now I cannot to export audio from adobe sequence into uncompressed wave format with 5.1 channels settings. Source m2ts video files in sequence are with 5.1 audio.
    What I doing:
    1) in Premiere I execute "File\Export\Media"
    2) Export settings are:
    - format: Windows Waveform
    - audio codec: Ucompressed
    - basic audio settings: 44100Hz, Channels: 5.1, Sample Type 16bit
    3) After OK button it opens Adobe Media Encoder.
    4) After pressing Start Queue in Adobe Media Encoder there is a message "Error compiling movie. Unknown error"
In earlier versions it worked fine.
Can you help me with this problem?
    Alexander

Here are the options, from a sequence with 5.1 master track:
    and with Surcode:
Notice that first one does only give stereo as an option. Nothing more. With Surcode it gives you 5.1 sound.

  • When exporting video from Premiere Pro?

When exporting a video from Premiere Pro it makes a .m4v file instead of .mp4, even though it saids in the Premiere Pro that it will make a mp4 file - and I can't use them afterwards. It has been there after I have updated last time.

Also, make sure that you check the box marked "Export Audio" if you want a MP4 extension.

  • Some scenes displaced when dyn. linked from Premiere CS4

    Hi -
I've encountered an odd problem, and I was windering if anyone else has seen it.  My system:
    Win 7 64
    Prod Premium CS4
When dynamic linking a sequence from Pr to Encore, the rendered sequence has a few seconds where the image is moved about 1/3 of the frame to the right and down. 5a few seconds out of a 60 minute project) I only see it in the Encore monitor window and on a burned DVD. The sequence in Pr looks fine, and it also renders out fine from Premiere.  It's only when dynamically linked that this happens.
It has happened on two different projects, each time for about 5 to 10 seconds. The only way to solve the problem was to render out the problem bit from Premiere, then drop the new footage in the same position in the sequence.   Encore is clealy not reading something correctly.  The problem areas don't correspond to clips in the sequence, though, they go across clips.
What is odd is that one project was Cineform 1920x1080 25p, and the other project was HDV 50i.  The Encore project is PAL DVD in both cases.
I have tried to see what the two problem bits did have in common, and it is these things:
They are both nested sequences, nested more than once.
Both had the fast blur effect applied at a transition (but the problem remained when it was deactivated)
    Magic Bullet Looks was applied.
Please note that in the projects these same conditions didn't cause any problem at all 99% of the time.  Has anybody else seen this before?

By default, the Ram preiew resolution is adaptative and not full quality, as it's just to "preview". You can switch this behavior to full quality, and by default, when you render, it will always be "Full quality" before being compressed by your output module.
You can check the Ram preview doc and the rendering doc from the AE help.
    Hope that helps,
    Seb

  • Adobe soundbooth cs4 hangs when called from premiere cs4 in windows 7 64 bit

Whenever I try to edit a soundfile from within premiere cs4 Soundbooth starts and then hangs on my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit machine; works fine in XP pro.

I discovered the problem only occurs once I try to open an mp3 file in Soundbooth CS4 from within Premiere CS4 and Sounddbooth is not already running.
If I open Soundbooth before I try to open an mp3 or any sound file in Soundbooth CS4 from within Premiere CS4 then there are no problems.  So the workaround is easy: start Soundbooth before I try to edit soundfiles form within Premiere.
Question: are you using 64 bit Windows 7?

  • Question: Exporting .aaf from Premiere Pro CC v8

I want to export an aaf from Premiere to be color corrected in Davinci Resolve. My export fails because some of the clips in my timeline have effects (horizontal flip, gaussian blur, volume). I get a pop-up saying "Translation Issue". What am I doing wrong?

I mean a .aaf file. I've read that it is compatible with Davinci Resolve, and I can round trip my sequence from Premiere to Resolve using .aaf. I've tried exporting it a Final Cut Pro xml as well. Both times almost immediately the export stops and a warning pops up listing all of the issues:
    Translation issue:
Sequence <Feature_Color> at 00:02:38:07, video track 7: Effect <Horizontal Flip> on Clip <JT_20131128_INTSmallMnt03.MOV> not translated.
    Translation issue:
Sequence <Feature_Color> at 00:08:57:04, video track 6: Effect <Track Matte Key> on Clip <DG_06_06_2014_Radio_CU_06.MOV> not translated.
    Translation issue:
Sequence <Feature_9> at 00:00:00:00, audio track 8: Effect <Internal Channel Volume Stereo> on Clip <ATF soundtrack_2.aif> not translated.

  • Dynamic Link from Premiere CS4

When I export Premiere to AE, the composition icon in AE but nothing else.No associated video files, etc. I double-click it or drag it into the timeline area - nothing happens. However, I am able import a Premiere project frm within AE and I can do all those things - but Dynamic Link is not involved. Can I link the two after the fact?

I don't really get what you are saying. For DynamicLink, you do not export anything, you open the saved Premiere Pro project using the DynamicLink option in the import dialog. Upon doing so, you will be prompted with what sequence to use and that's all. If you are referring to creating a AE comp from Premiere using Replace with AE Composition, then that's a different thing. In either case, however, the AE project must be saved in the same location as the Premiere project for things to show up properly.

  • Export m4v from Premiere CS5 on mac

    Hi,
I am trying to output a .m4v (one single file that has video and audio together) from Premiere Pro CS5 on mac.
    Settings I have tired are:
    h.264
    h.264-bluray
    Apple TV
The file will be used on iphone and ipad devices; however, Premiere can only output the file in two tracks (audio and video seperately).
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++
    Method I also tried is:
    Export my video to .mov
Open .mov at Quick Time Pro
Use Quick Time Pro Save As - Apple TV format.
However, it only provide as large as 960x480 size.
I need a Setting to control my video dimension as well.

    Anyone can help?
    -thanks ahead,

MP4 is the correct container for a file that contains video and audio, yes.
I should clarify that the use of "MP4" vs "M4V" is nearly only a semantics issue.  I only brought it up to clarify your question.  You could just as easily substitute something nonsensical, like "ZZZ" and it wouldn't change the content of the file, though it might cause some applications trouble recognizing the file.
    > why is it that I can use Quicktime Pro (Save As > Apple TV format) to render my .mov to .m4v  that contain the audio?
See my comment above about semantics for the real reason.  However, the QuickTime application plays fast and loose with a lot of rules.  I would never hold it up as an example of what other video applications should or shouldn't do.
Here are Apple's specification pages for iPad, iPad 2, and some models of iPhones.  You can see here that H.264 video is accepted in M4V, MP4, and MOV containers.
