4 black pixels appear on the top left

If I work on my iMac for a while, 4 black pixels appear on the top left area of my desktop. If I move an application window over top of them, they are not visible. They are only visible on the wallpaper. If I change the wallpaper they disappear and if I go back to my old wallpaper, they aren't there any more either...
Has anyone an idea, what this might be? I guess a dead pixel, or a stuck one should be permanently visible, even if I move another window on top of it...

: D I have no clue, I've never done it before, i think it had something to do with taking out the batter and holding the power button or something-another

i think this is it.
Another problem may be an app you have running. It could be causing a conflict and making the pixels go gimpy. I dont think its a serious problem and it could be fixed software wise. If all else fails, reinstall OSX. : P

A white block with a face on it appears on the top left of the screen. What is that??

I notice that whenever firefox acts funny, a white block shaped character with a face on it appears on the top left of the screen, hiding behind my toolbox. What is it? Why is it there? What does it represent?

Show font does not appear on the top left of my preview window.

Firefox Icon does not appear in the top left corner of the Browser on a Mac Desktop

I have an Intel iMac with OSX version 10.6.7. I downloaded Firefox 4.0 and do not have the Firefox icon in the upper left hand corner of the browser. It appears on my Windows 7 machine but not my Mac.

You get the orange Firefox menu button if the menu bar is hidden.

Why does Signature with an email address appear on the top left hand corner of each template? Is there a way to remove this or is it standard? Thank you!

I'm not sure this is necessary or is it proof to the customer of where the proof/invoice is coming from for approval?

Hi Brandon,
By default, if you are not placing the signature field in document manually, a signature block ( having signature and email address ) is placed at the bottom left corner of document by default.
While sending the document from Send tab, just check "Preview, Position Signatures or add form fields" and hit Next. In Preview page, you can drag and drop Signature field along with other form fields at appropriate position in document.

A white block appears in the top left corner of my screen - how do I get rid of it without restarting Firefox every time?

This seems to happen after I've used Firefox for a long time, or I've had several tabs open. The block covers all windows, whatever application I choose, and can't be dragged. I have to close Firefox and reopen it to remove it.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

Okay so I had a fan error I took the laptop apart to clean the fan it worked "I think"A lock now appeared in the top left corner With another symbol next to it which looks like a computer but its so small I can't tell so is there anyway to get around this otherwise if there isn't my job is at stake and with this economy I think I just might jump off a bridge after talking with my psychiatrist of course I changed my mine... I would be so happy to know i won't have to spend money on this machine cuz i am in the negetives here just barely living... help me or im outta the picture for good as to be honest this laptop is my life and it has everything i need on it to succeed in the near future along with many expensive programs that could make or break me. jeez im hopeless right now this is it i've googled to the point i was gonna pick up this desktop at this library and smash it and walk out like nothing even happened.

Remove keyboard
block fan-propeller with a match or toothpick
blow compressed air through the fan ribs from outside into the notebook.
finally clean the fan gently with a vacuum cleaner while the fan still is blocked with the match/toothpick
If the fan error still comes up, you'll need a new fan/heat sink.

What's this number 2 in the top left of the screen...

Surprisignly a number "2" appeared on the top left of the screen and I was wondering what it could mean and how to remove it...

hey there... i'm not sure if you are referring to the "number" on the top left of the phone that keeps changing everytime you go to one folder to another folder...
(try this: scroll down to other application & see if this "number" keeps changing... if it is, I guess it is the mobile build-in program counter that allocates the place & number of folder (or application) you are trying to access... this is useful when you are trying to locate a folder (or application) and the user cannot read the folder (or application) name)...

Video problem, it's appearing at the top corner of other windows

Any time i watch a video say from youtube on the web, and then look at a differnet window, or even a different tab in firefox, the video starts to appear in the top left corner, with some tearing. It can't be clicked on, as whatever's clicked on will be what's in that corner of the program, but it blocks what i can see, even happens on the desktop.

When switching my iPhone on a message appears in black and white tiny writing on the top left hand corner. It displays the apple sign but won't let me do anything.

My MacBook Pro just turned itself off while installing Windows 7. It has now got a black screen with a white flashing bar in the top left corner...what can I do?

I was just installing windows 7 onto my MacBook Pro. I selected to have 200GB for Windows and the rest leave for Mac.
I clicked install and the bar filled up as it should do. However, once the install had completed, my MacBook turned itself off. I assumed this was normal. Now, my MacBook has a black screen with a white flashing underscore in the top left corner.

Hold down the Option key when starting up then on the sceen that comes up select Mac OS X to boot from.
The Win 7 install didn't go well and is hung in some way. You should use boot camp assistant to remove the win partition and start over.
Make sure you are using a Retail version of Win 7. A Branded OEM version, like ones from Dell and HP, will NOT work to install Windows 7 on your Mac.

It would be nice to have the possibility to attach a print screen or something to give you a better idea what is happening and how it looks like.
Anyway, what I described above is accurate:
- the address bar shows the link where I wish to go

Using Adblockplus and NoScript plug-ins had sadly no effect.
I've read somewere that the ploblem should be an f**** adware called "directCPV"., and that the solution is toremove an .exe file called Directcpv.exe or somewhat else, but in my pc I haven't found any of those linked to this adware.
I tried a full system scan with an antivirus (McAfee), with Malwarebytes, Ad-Aware, ATF cleaner, Spybot, Exterminate-it but NO RESULTS.
I tried to do this in safe mode too.
No way cleaning the cache, temp files, cookies etc.
finally I tried to uninstall Firefox (cleaning all registry entry too) and reinstall it, but the problem is still there.
The only cure seems to be formatting the HD, but it's very last chance.
If someone have an idea, please post it here.

Try starting your iMac with the original DVD that came with the machine then launch disk utility to repair your hard drive.
