[6.1] Serving an image with a + character

We recently migrated a 250+ page app from 6.0 to 6.1. Immediately
afterwards we notice that 6.1 does not serve up images that have a +
character in them. We have a spacer gif named "+space.gif" that now shows
up as a broken image link.
Is there a reason for this?

You would need to extend BasicProgressBarUI or MetalProgressBarUI (or...) and override the paintDeterminate method. And the solution would not be L&F independent.
After just a glance at the sources, I think it would probably be easier for you to initially call the super method and overlay custom painting on that, as done in the MetalProgressBarUI class code.

  • Generate image with CFIMAGE - but need to use img tag to serve the content

    I create a new image with cfimage, that already works without
    any problems.
    But instead of using the action="writetobrowser" I need to be
    able to use the script inside a img tag:
    Example: <img
    src="myscript.cfm?somedata=iwanttheimagetocreate>
    I found one webpage that deals with that problem (
    http://www.webdevelopernews.com/2007/09/14/serving-up-cfimages-via-image-tags/)
    but the image served to the browser, when using the code below, is
    of a very low quality and another point is that you can't serve
    .gif's to the browser.
    <cfcontent type="image/jpg"
    variable="#ImageGetBlob(backgroundimage)#">
    Any suggestions/solutions?
    Thanks,
    Phil

    In that entry Raymond mentions:
    "The WriteToBrowser action actually generates HTML that points
    to a ‘magic’ URL to serve the image.". ie <img
    src="/CFFileServlet/_cf_image/_cfimg-12345036853711072.PNG" alt=""
    />
    Perhaps you could create a function that captures the
    generated html by using <cfsavecontent>.
    <cfsavecontent variable="imageTagHTML">
    <cfimage action="writeToBrower" ..>
    </cfsavecontent>
    Then uses a regular expression to extract and return the url
    portion only. ie
    "/CFFileServlet/_cf_image/_cfimg-12345036853711072.PNG"
    <cfset ExtractedURLHere = SomeFunction(arguments...)>
    <cfoutput><img
    src="#ExtractedURLHere#"></cfoutput>
    Though you could also use the entire html string directly
    <cfoutput>#imageTagHTML#</cfoutput>

  • ISE admin server with 16 character hostname

    Our ISE admin servers were inadvertently built with 16 character hostnames. Active directory has a 15 character limit for hostnames. This causes the 16th character to be truncated. The secondary admin server fails to connect to AD because the hostname no longer looks unique. Is there a work around for this other than rebuilding the ISE servers?

    Hi Jeff,
    you need not rebuild your entire ISE nodes. You have to follow the below steps.
    Changing the Hostname or IP Address of a Standalone Cisco ISE Node
    You can change the hostname, IP address, or domain name of standalone Cisco ISE nodes. You cannot use “localhost” as the hostname for a node.
    Before You Begin
    If the Cisco ISE node is part of a distributed deployment, you must remove it from the deployment and ensure that it is a standalone node.
    Step 1 Change the hostname or IP address of the Cisco ISE node using the hostname , ip address, or ip domain-name command from the Cisco ISE CLI.
    Step 2 Restart the Cisco ISE application configuration using the application stop ise command from the Cisco ISE CLI to restart all the services.
    Step 3 Register the Cisco ISE node to the primary Administration node if it part of a distributed deployment.
    Note If you are using the hostname while registering the Cisco ISE node, the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the standalone node that you are going to register, for example, abc.xyz.com must be DNS-resolvable from the primary Administration node. Otherwise, node registration fails. You must enter the IP addresses and FQDNs of the Cisco ISE nodes that are part of your distributed deployment in the DNS server.
    After you register the Cisco ISE node as a secondary node, the primary Administration node replicates the change in the IP address, hostname, or domain name to the other Cisco ISE nodes in your deployment.
    Make sure that you also update the DNS record with new hostname and replace the certificate unless you are using wildcard cert.

  • Replacing the ul bullet with a character (no image)

    Can this be done? All the tutorials I've found via Google explain how to replace the bullet by an image. I'm looking to replace it with a character (like ★ or ♬)

    Yes. You could do this with the CSS before selector and HTML special characters.
    http://designshack.net/articles/css/the-lowdown-on-before-and-after-in-css/
    You need to use an utf-8-charset
    ul li {list-style:none}
    li:before {
    content:'\266b';  /**musical note**/
    padding-right: 12px;
    font-family: Times, serif;  /**for consistency**/

  • Error: Invalid dimension member with special character / in BPC NW 7.5 SP7

    Hi experts,
    We are encountering the following problem in our Financial Planning application.
    We are migrating our existing BPC solution from one server to another through backup and restore. The existing solution was on BPC NW 7.5 SP 5. The profit_centre dimension in the existing solutions has several member ids with special character '/' (forward slash). The dimension never threw an error when processed in the existing solution and there is planning transactional data against these member ids.
    While the entire configration , appset , files were successfully restored through UJBR on the new system (BPC 7.5 SP7) through UJBR (backup and restore), the masterdata could not be restored only for this Profit_centre (masterdata for other dimensions were processed successfullu). All the member ids with / are rejected for this dimension. The same error is thrown if processed through the admin client from the member sheet.
    Error: Dimension member PC_FF/WS/NT is an invalid member ID
              Error in Admin module
    Is there any setting which need to be made to allow / character in member ids? Any suggestion to get around this problem would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Abhiman

    Hi Abhiman,
    Yes, you need to maintain the transformation file to correct all dimension member IDs. Can you please refer to the following link with a similar issue:

  • In Lr 3.6 how can I search for filenames ending with a # character ?

    The text search seems to treat the # character in some mysterious way so as to not select the files that have it in their name. I cannot find any explanation for this in the documentation. Is there some other character(s) that I have to put beside the # to make it register as a normal character ?
    My specific problem is that I need to locate a bunch of files in my catalog that have names ending with a # character. I want to rename those files in a way that removes the trailing # but not other # characters that separate key parts of the file names. If I can't do that then I want to select that group of files and produce .xmp files for them (I don't normally use .xmp files) so that I can rename the files outside Lr and import them again complete with all previous tweaks and metadata.
    I dare say that I would not choose to name files this way if I started again but I've got far too many to change now.
    There are also too many for me to want to rename them individually in the Metadata panel if I can avoid it.
    I'm using Lr 3.6 on Mac OSX 10.6.8
    cheers,
    - Alan

    You guys beat me to the answer, which I discovered more by accident than good management.
    Firstly, I had used the # characters because they looked good in list views such as in Windows Explorer or the Mac Finder. That was from before I got into using Lr and I was trying and using several different programs to manage my photos. Then I found that trailing # characters prevented Lr from recognizing the number at the "end" of the file name and so I wanted to delete them.
    Secondly, I got into the Lr rename facility initially to replace what I did with Downloader Pro before switching from Windows to Mac and subsequently found that there is no way to delete a trailing character, but it helped establish in my mind that to Lr the "filename" was just the first part of the name before the full stop and the extension (e.g. .cr2 or .nef or .jpg). Try it - there is a "filename" token for setting up a naming structure that ignores the extension and its full stop.
    This was further reinforced in Library Grid View where the filename and the extension are separated and the extension is not displayed.
    So having used F2 (rename) before I got around to playing with the text search I was set up for failure. Looking for {filename ends with #} or {filename ends with #.} failed because it found nothing as none of my files had a # or #. after the filename extension, and looking for {filename contains #} also failed because it found all of my files instead of just those with the trailing #. I wrongly thought that Lr had trouble seeing a # in the text search.
    Now I have been able to find and select all files with a trailing # in the base part of the filename by looking for {filename contains #.} and generate current .xmp files for them. Then I went outside Lr and used a utility file renamer to get rid of the offending # for the image files and the .xmp files in bulk. Then I re-synchronized the folder(s) in Lr to import those renamed files back into Lr along with all of the metadata, and get rid of the old files from the catalog. Had those files been a part of a collection or stack then I suspect that membership of the collection or stack would have been lost but it kept the keywords, ratings, labels, and image tweaks. Then I got rid of the .xmp files again because I prefer to work without them (less clutter and less chance of other software separating them from the image files).
    So much easier than doing it the hard way
    Thanks for your help.

  • Read Document in FileUtilities  cannot search a file with french character in the file name

    Hi,
    I am trying to search a file with french character in the file name like 'captures écran.doc' in my unix server directory, and Write the file somewhere, say in a list of documents or, write on file system to another directory.
    I am using to Read Document in FileUtilities of Foundation, but it cannot read the file due to french character in its name. Although it can find any other file name without these french characters.
    Tried renaming but that also cannot find the file with french character name.
    Please provide any idea to solve it using LC operation.
    Regards,
    Rohan Raj.

    Hi Thomas,
    Thanks for the post, but I have already found a solution to it a month ago. Sorry for not posting the solution.
    You just have to set the '-Djava.property.file.encoding=ISO8859-1' into JVM argument of your server startup, and bounce the server back to pick the new JVM arg set. And now the service Read Document in FileUtilities of Foundation will read all french characters.
    ISO8859-1refers to "Latin alphabet no. 1," consisting of 191 characters from the Latin script. This character-encoding scheme is used throughout The Americas,Western Europe, Oceania, and much of Africa. It is also commonly used in most standard romanizations of East-Asian languages.
    regards,
    Rohan Raj.

  • Image with transparent background changes surrounding fill color when PMS...

    Hello.
    I have a .PSD image I'm using in InDesign CS3. It's a greyscale image with a transparent background. When I bring it into InDesign and set the background color of the image box to a Pantone and then print it, the PMS color within the area of the .PSD image size changes color compared to the rest of the page. But, when the same document is printed, but with "All Spot to Process" via the Ink Manager, the page prints fine. I get the same results on a number of different Canon and Xerox proofing printers. I have uploaded a PDF to my web server showing an example of the results I'm getting the PDF can be found here:
    http://theboyk.net/temp/PMSvsCMYK.pdf
    The first page is the document printed normally. You can see the color change in the green (Pantone Green). The second page is the same document printed with "All Spot to Process" via Ink Manager.
    Does anyone know why this happens when I leave it as printing a spot color?
    Any advice would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Kristin.

    I totally forgot to put that in my post.  Yes, I am putting logos with transparent backgrounds in front of colored rectangles.  That's how I noticed that this one logo is showing up with a white background.  The weird thing is that the other two logos are fine.  I did find a different version of this logo and this one works fine.  The one that works fine is a JPG and the one that shows up with a white background is a JPG.

  • URGENT Problem with Greek Character from an Oracle database

    Hello, I am having a serious and urgent problem with the character settings of an oracle database (8.1.7). The database is sitting in a solaris unix server and when we run the env command we have the following in the NLS_LANG parameter: AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1 (I do not know if this is helpful). When I retrieve data from oracle database (through a VB.NET 2005 program)to a dataset I use a special font in order to see the greek characters (HELLASARIAL). But when I am trying to save these data to a TXT file the greek characters are like Chinese to us. I tried several encodings (System.Text.Encoding.GetEncoding(869)) but without success. Can someone tell me how to convert the oracle greek characters during the selection or during the saving to the TXT file?
    Please respond as fast as you can.
    Thanks in advance

    Here is the answer of the microsoft:
    I have the information that you have a VB.Net 2005 application connected to an Oracle database 8.1.7.4 hosted on a UNIX server.
    This database has the CharacterSet WE8ISO8859P1.
    When retrieving Greek characters from this database in the application, you cannot see them.
    Could you please send me a screenshot of these characters in the .Net application?
    Are they displayed as gibberish, or as inverted questions marks (?)?
    I already had similar cases with Hebrew characters hosted on an Oracle database.
    These characters were displayed as questions marks on the client side.
    This is due to the fact that System.Data.OracleClient is using the Server CharacterSet to display the characters.
    If your Greek characters are not stored in the WE8ISO8859P1 characterset, then they won’t display correctly on the client-side.
    This is different from OLEDB where you could interact on client side by modifying the NLS_LANG parameter in the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\HOME0.
    The client NLS_LANG and the server CharacterSet had to match in order to correctly display the data, and avoid SQL*NET conversion.
    So there are two solutions to your case:
    - The first one is to create a new database using the P8 characterset. The Oracle .Net managed provider will so be able to use it and display the characters correctly.
    - The second one is to use the OLEDB.Net managed provider, and then use OLEDB for Oracle provider. OLEDB will take care of the client NLS_LANG registry parameter.
    Would it be possible to test your application against an Oracle database with WE8ISO8859P8 characterset?
    Would it be possible to test it with the OLEDB .Net managed provider, and after checking the NLS_LANG client registry parameter?

  • I can not update a Windows Server 2008 R2 with Software Update Group in SCCM2012

    Hi all,
    I got some problems with update deployments these days.
    I try to configure SCCM2012 to update 1 Windows Server 2008 R2 (with Hyper-V / This server is in a cluster)
    Actually i've 4 other Hyper-V servers and i would like to add one more in the cluster called Hyper-V5. To do that i need that all Hyper-V servers use the same Windows Updates.
    I created a collection for my Hyper-V servers and then a Software Update Group with all needed updates (checked the list of another HV-Server).
    I did a deployment on this collection using this new Software Update Group.
    I checked the Sofwtare Center's logs on the Hyper-V5 server and i saw that synchronization has a successfull state.
    But there is no updates installed or displayed in Sofwtare Center.
    Here is some screenshots : Oh no i can't post image because ... "Body text cannot contain images or links until we are able to verify your account." waiting to be verified since months.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
    Have you try to run Software Updates Scan Cycle and Software Updates Deployment Evaluation Cycle Actions on the client? Please check ScanAgent.log and PolicyAgent.log to see whether the client received the updates deployment policy.

  • Displaying server stored images in an air application

    Usually when I go about displaying server stored images in a regular flex application I go about it the following way:-
    - Create a mysql database table on a server which contains image names
    - Create a php file which generates all of the image namesfrom the table as xml and upload this file to the server
    - Create a new flex application/project
    - In the application make a http service which points to my php/xml file and turns this data into an array collection
    - Set the array collection to the dataprovider of a tilelist component so that all of the images will eventually be displayed within it when they are created
    - I set the itemrenderer of the tilelist to an image component which has it's source set to something like source="{'assets/images'+ data.imagename}" with imagename being the field containing the name of the image which is stored in the mysql database table.
    - Make a folder in the app/project called assets/images which will contain all of the images
    - Upload the app to the server and once it runs all the images will be displayed in the application
    - Then any images that are uploaded to the server can also be displayed as long as their names are added to the mysql database
    My question is though how do you get server stored images to display within an Air Application? My air app will be used on multiple machines but I want the images in it to be dynamic i.e. stored on a server and can be changed. How can this be done?

    I'm struggling to figure out how to access the image files when the assets/images folder will be on a server and the app itself will be on the user's desktop whereas usually in the case of a regular flex app this wouldn't mater as both the app and the image files would be on the server together. Is what I'm trying to do possible i.e. displaying images on a desktop air app straight from a server?

  • Bypass Adapter URI Endpoint with Escape Character for Web Service

    Dear All,
    I would like to apply by pass adapter URI Endpoint for XI webservice, the default format is
    http://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry&version=3.0&Sender.Service=<BusinessService>&Interface=<namespace>^<Outbound Interface name>
    If I am using format using with carat () character then there has no problem to the service, but consumer doesn't support carat () character. I instead the carat (^) with URL Escape Character (%5E)
    http://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry&version=3.0&Sender.Service=<BusinessService>&Interface=<namespace>%5E<Outbound Interface name>
    Then error occurred

    How to resolve this error...
    Thank you.
    Regards,

    Hi ,
    as per my knowledge.....................
    When you create a WSDL with the help of a wizard. In the Integration Directory, choose Tools -> Define Web Service to enter the wizard.
    On Propose URL button, as this genertated URL default Point to Entegration Engine.. SO already proformance wise Good.
    If You want to Point your URL to adapter engine , use below given URL this will point ur incoming soap  message to SOAPadapter sender channel
    http://<host>:<j2ee-port>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:<service>:<channel>.

  • Bare metal restore of full server backup fails with RPC error 0x800706BA (server 2012)

    With Windows Server 2012, after creating a successful windows server backup (full server), I am unable to do a bare metal restore of the system.
    EFI System Partition, C:, D: are the volumes on a single array (Raid 5).
    Loading WinRE and launching re-image, the full server restore stops after completing the C: restore just after beginning the D: drive restore (data volume) with the error with the message about RPC error 0x800706BA, unavailable.
    The system will not boot as a result of the failure.
    What may be causing this?
    [edit]
    I think I have two things working against me here... one, Volume Shadow Copy service wasn't running in WinPE and two.. the D: volume contains data deduplication.
    I think this is causing some of my problems.
    Is there an additional service that I need to start in WinPE to get a volume that was deduplicated restored perhaps using wbadmin?

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply Shaon.
    The hardware system is identical; however, I am increasing storage capacity from 12TB to 16TB.  Basically, the system is the same, just new hard drives (4x4TB versus 4x3TB).  Drives are all identical enterprise class drives and I am actually using
    the same system (backup, swap drives then restore).
    I tried both using the WinRE restore (re-image) with the backup set, and tried using wbadmin.  Both produce same RPC unavailable messages (although using the GUI based tool via WinRE provides the additional error code #).
    I do not have any idea what to look at to try to figure this one out.
    [edit]
    I was just informed of this posting:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/147efccc-e0e9-4458-852e-c3a44ae5cb64/the-system-image-restore-failed-error-details-he-rpc-server-is-unavailable-0x800706ba?forum=windowsbackup
    and in my case, this lab server does in fact act also as a DC as well as a file server...  do I need to spin up a secondary controller (perhaps in a VM on another machine) to do this restore?

  • Transport tablespaces between databases with different character sets

    Hi everyone:
    I have two 10R2 databases on the same hp-ux 64bit server, 1st one with NLS_CHARACTERSET=US7ASCII, 2nd one with
    NLS_CHARACTERSET=AL32UTF8.
    NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET on both databases is AL16UTF16.
    Can I transfer tablespaces from the 1st one to the 2nd. The data could be in English, French & Spanish.
    If not what are my options?
    Thanks in advance.

    First off, if you are storing French and Spanish data in database 1 where the character set is US7ASCII, you've got some serious problems. US7ASCII doesn't support non-English characters (accents, tildes, etc). If you're storing data this way, you've introduced data corruption that you'd have to resolve before copying the data data over to another machine.
    Second, technically, the source and target character set have to be identical. Since US7ASCII is a strict binary superset of AL32UTF8, you could theoretically transport a US7ASCII tablespace to an AL32UTF8 database. In your case, though, since the data is not really US7ASCII, you'd end up with corruption.
    Any of the Oracle built-in replication options is going to require that you resolve the corruption issue. Assuming that you can figure out what character set the source database really is, you could potentially dump the data to flat files (taking care not to allow character set conversion to take place) and SQL*Loader them into the destination system by identifying the proper character set in your control file. That's obviously going to be a rather laborious process, though.
