64 Bit Office Filters are Failing...

If anyone can shed any light on why I'm having issues with 64-bit office filters that would be great...

Simple.doc(x) is a clean one line Word doc saved from Office 2007 as both a .doc and a .docx
Complex.doc(x) is a file that was attached to a client’s email that we are trying to index.  (.doc is the original format and I opened it in Office 2007 and saved it as a .docx)
I have no problem opening any format of either file on either the 32-bit or 64-bit OS.
So the main question is, how can I tell why the complex.doc is reporting as an invalid format (0x8004170C) – how can that be determined?  The error is obviously too generic.  If I open that doc and resave it as a new .doc then I can filter it just fine.  So it’s gotta be something with the way the file was generated originally…
And…  Why are the office 2007 64 bit filters failing altogether?  Is there a known issue here?
Thanks.

  • GPO WMI filters are failing

In Group Policy Manager when a WMI filter is created an error message is displayed:
Either the namespace entered is not a valid namespace on the local computer or you do not have access to this namespace on this computer.  It is possible this is a valid namespace on the remote computer)s).  If you wish to use this namespace, press
OK.  Press cancel to choose another namespace.
I am signed on as the domain administrator.  This domain is Server 2012 R2.
The namespace is the common root\cimv2.  When the browse button is pressed many namespaces are listed.  The error occurs no mater what namespace is selected.
Even if the error message is ignored and the wmi filter is created.  For windows 8 clients, wmi filters fail even though they should pass.
Select * from win32_operatingsystem where version like "6.%" will evaluate to false.
This is happening on two Server 2012 R2 domains.
Has anyone seen this?  Is there a fix?

    Hi dga_1,
Before going further, would you please let me confirm something?
Please run the PowerShell command (gwmi -namespace "root" -class "__Namespace" | Select Name) to check if the
    CIMV2 was listed.
Meanwhile, please go to Event Viewer and navigate to: Applications and Services Logs-> Microsoft-> Windows->
WMI-Activity. Then select Operational and check if you can find Event 5857 and 5858.
Based on current situation, please refer to the following article and troubleshoot.

By the way, I find you want to apply the WMI filter in Windows 8 client. Please use the
    WQL Query Statement:
    select * from Win32_OperatingSystem where Version like "6.2%" and ProductType = "1"
Then ignore this warning again. And use gpupdate /force to refresh group policy. Then run
gpresult command to collect report and check if this WMI filter still can’t be applied.
    Hope this helps.

  • Office 2013 Packager failed: Office (32-bit) not packaging because of Office (64-bit)

    Hello,
I used ODT to download Office 2013 Pro 32-bit and now I am trying to create a package from those files. I use the command line:
    Setup.exe /packager configuration.xml "E:\Office 2013 Pro App-v"
When I try to run this, I immidiatly get the following message:
"We found a problem! We're sorry, Office (32-bit) couldn't be installed because you have these 64-bit Office programs installed on your computer. Microsoft Office 2013. 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Office programs don't get along, so you can only have
one type installed at a time. Please try installing the 64-bit version of Office instead, or uninstall your other 64-bit Office programs and try this installation again."
I checked my installed programs on the server, but I don't have Office 2013 64-bit installed. I did in the past create packages for Office 2013 64-bit , but it's currently not in published/installed on the server. I checked with revo uninstaller to be sure.
Is there a registry setting, or something that is misleading App-V to believe I still have Office 2013 64-bit somewhere installed? I really need to stream MS Access 32-bit to users. But cannot solve this issue.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hello,
Thanks for replying. Your solution works, BUT I'm immidiatly running into a second problem. The .appv package that is created, cannot be published. The error I get is:

I think this has to do with issues in the september releases of Office 2013. I'm gonna try downloading a previous versin using ODT. Changing the configuration.xml file to:

  • Sharepoint 2013 explorer view error - problem opening this location in file explorer (HTTPS + Win7 Enterprise 64 bit + IE9 32 bit + Office 2007 32 bit)

    Hi,
We have a problem using Sharepoint 2013 explorer view. (Error - We're having a problem opening this location in file explorer. Add this web site to your trusted sites list and try again).
I'm using Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit, Office 2007 32 bit and IE9 32 bit. And the sharepoint site is a https site.
Some people in my organization are able to browse and some users getting the above error. (with the same client machine configuration)
If I clear my browser cache, closes the browser and open it then the explorer view is working. But after a minute if I try again I'm getting the above mentioned error. This 1 minute expiration happens is since the first time I have used explorer
view, not since I opened the browser.
I have tried the following on my machine:
    1. Modified the web client service to run automatically.
    2. Verified the sharepoint site is part of trusted sites (https://*.spsite.com/)
    3. Compatibility mode is turned on.
    4. Tried adding
AuthForwardServerList in the webclient registry settings under parameters. (restarted the web client)
    5. Verified the BasicAuthLevel set to 1 (since we are using SSL). Tried setting the BasicAuthLevel to 2 as well. (restarted the web client)
    6. Tried installing software update for web folders (KB907306).
Verified the below on the production server:
    1. The web application has the root site collection.
    2. It has WebDav Publishing disabled under IIS Web Server feature.
Could some one please help me in resolving this issue?
    Thanks.

    Hi  Deepak,
According to your post, my understanding is that you failed to use "Open with Explorer"  in a document library.
For your issue, please verify the following:
ActiveX controls must be enabled in IE.
As you are using Windows 7 Server as the client computer, you must install the Desktop Experience feature from Server Manager.
Make sure there is a working Root site collection.
Install this hotfix for windows 7 work with sharepoint 2013 :hotfixv4.microsoft.com/.../463266_intl_x64_zip.exe

  • Office 2013 updates fail on computers with Access 2013 installed

I have about 10 workstations with the combination of Windows 7 enterprise 32 bit, Access 2013 and Office 2007 installed.
SCCM offers up both Office 2007 and Office 2013 updates to these machines, but the Office 2013 updates, fail to install.
The same thing happens when I go to Microsoft updates and manually install the required Office 2013 updates.
I read that one of the updates required Office 2013 sp1.
But when I downloaded it, it won't install:  KB2817430 "The expected version of this product was not found on the system."
This is the second month I've had the failures. I removed KB2878316 and KB2889927 from my deployments and packages to stop repeated install attempts.
But this month I've got a new on failing, KB2899493.
Is there a way around this problem?

Thanks, I couldn't really find anything but it looks as though this could be just the way it is.
    from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2784668
When you start a version of Access on a computer that has multiple versions of Access installed, the Windows Installer may start, and
a message that states that the Windows Installer is preparing to install Access may be displayed before Access starts.
Every time that you start Access 2003, Access 2007, or Access 2010 after you use Access 2013, the Windows Installer repair operation registers
that version of Access. Similarly, the Windows Installer repair operation registers Access 2010 every time that you start it after you use an earlier version of Access. This does not occur when you start Access 2002, nor does it occur when you start the same
    version of Access again.
Is this likely to also apply even when running App-V?

  • Installing SAP GUI on 64-bit Windows 7 with 32-bit Office

Until about 6 months ago, 64-bit systems in my environment had 64-bit Office 2010 installed.  That caused some problems with other applications, so I made the decision that, going forward, ALL systems would have 32-bit Office 2010 installed.
Apparently, it's taken 6 months, but I finally have a need to Install SAP GUI 7.20 Patch 6 on a 64-bit Windows 7 system with 32-bit Office 2010.  It turns out, that doesn't work.
    I receive this:
Not all package prerequisits [sic] are fulfilled
Outlook Client extension for the synchronization of SAPoffice calendar with Outlook calendar... No compatible version of Microsoft Outlook found.
I am assuming that since this same installation works on my 32-bit systems, that it is upset about my architecturally-mismatched Office.
Am I correct about the source for this problem?  If so, is there anything I can do to make the GUI work in this environment?

    Hi John,
Actually, there is no mismatch in having 32-bit Office installed on 64-bit Windows.  In fact, this is probably the preferred environment.  SAPGUI in general is much happier with 32-bit Office, especially older patches (by the way, 7.20 is no longer in support -- you should upgrade to 7.30).
The errors you're receiving are most probably related to lingering 64-bit components of Office on your workstation.  We had the same situation in my office a while back, when we first started rolling out 64-bit Windows to a few users, and the PC techs mistakenly thought that meant they had to install 64-bit Office.  That caused lots of problems, since 64-bit Office is incompatible with many things, not just SAPGUI, as you found.  Correcting the error by simply reinstalling Office 32-bit resulting in workstations with some 64-bit and some 32-bit components, and that just made things worse.  Systems where 32-bit Office was installed from the beginning (on 64-bit OS) had no problems at all.
So, what you're probably going to need to do is to uninstall all Office components (including Outlook, Visio, anything like that, not just Word and Excel), and also uninstall your SAPGUI, then reinstall 32-bit Office (with Outlook) from scratch, then reinstall your SAPGUI.  This will probably clear up your problem.

  • New Media Encoder Error: video and/or audio filters are missing...

My colleague reported this error popup window while using Adobe Media Encoder CC (up-to-date):
"video and/or audio filters are missing and the rendered output may not match the original"
I've been seeing similar errors the past few days. I can't remember if the wording was the same in the errors I saw, but the circumstances were the same.
I've never seen this popup error before the most recent CC update.
    Some background info:
I queued up multiple Premiere Pro pproj files as usual from within Premiere
without rebooting or deleting any cache or temp files or anything, I start the queue
I have no special plugins installed in Premiere. Vanilla CC install.
    Windows 7, 64-bit
This error doesn't tell me what audio/video filter(s) are missing. The output files, once I dismiss this warning, are perfect.
The major problem: It stops the queue dead in it's tracks. Sure, it might seem handy to stop and give you a warning, but when it's a false report and there's nothing wrong, it's killing us, because we queue up multiple files for encoding overnight, and we're not here to get the popups.
What is likely causing this? Is it a bug that this is appearing so frequently? Has anyone else experienced this besides my colleague and I?
    Thanks!

Update for anyone experiencing this issue:
We are still investigating the cause of the issue and would really like your help tracking it down. If you run in to it I would be happy to jump on the phone with you and preferably do a screenshare as well. If you want to run some tests for me, this is what may help us track it down:
    0. Please make sure you are updated to the latest version of Premiere Pro and AME, which at this time are Premiere Pro 7.2.1 and AME 7.2.
    1. Simplify the project. Create a copy of the project and eliminate anything in the project that isn't related to the sequence(s) you are exporting. Then run the encode again. If it still occurs, move to the next step. If it doesn't occur any more, repeat step one and only remove half of the unused items (sorry, this is giong to be a manual process). Rinse, repeat.
    2. Open your sequence in Premiere and press Cmd/Ctrl + A to select all clips in your sequence. Right click and select Remove All Effects. Export again. No repro? Go to step 4. If it still repros, go to step 4.
    3. Make all the media offline. Export again. No repro? Go to step 4. Repro? Go to step 5.
    4. Send me a message with as much detail as possible. Even better would be if you could provide me a copy of your project file.
Your help in tracking this issue down is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Updating Acrobat X when Office-Apps are running

We want to update our clients, which already have installed an older version of Acrobat Professional 9.x with ADOBE Acrobat Professional X (10.1.0). This action must run silent with no user interaction.
I have written a script which kills all running processes using acrobat.exe and close all open PDF-files, also in IE. Then the Acrobat-MSI is started using a customized MST (including Serialnumber) with the parameter /qn. This script is mandatory launched by SCCM where the program-option “Allow users to interact with this program” is NOT set.
If a Office-application like PowerPoint or Word (with the Acrobat Plug-in) is running, the script fails (with 9.x of Acrobat the same worked fine and without any errors…).
Any ideas how to silent update an existing installation of Acrobat with Acrobat X when Office-Apps are open (won’t kill them)?

  • SSIS packages are failing after upgrade to SQL server 2014

    Hi,
I have some SSIS packages running on SQL server 2012 .
After I upgraded to SQL server to 2014 from 2012 , the SSIS jobs are failing on the SQL agent.
And i can see its related to Data source connectivity to the SQL agent. I hope it not able to identify the connection manager in SQL agent. And connection adapter is not upgraded.
I read some articles about this and they say it not able to connect to SQL server agent job.
And, I can see that the package is running if i run manually using SQL 2012 run time.
Why its not running on SQL 2014 ?
did i  miss anything while upgrading SQL server 2014 ?
Please give me some suggestions to solve this issue.
And is there any way i can change the SQL server agent 2014 to adapt this and run ?

I think you have typed this error message by yourself.
Anyway, as it says there should be more error preceeding to this. Do you have any other errors which describles the exact issue stating at what task it fails?
If not, then there are various reasons behind this issue. 3rd party connection manager such as Oracle Attunity or it may be 32/64 bit issue.
You may try executing package in 32 bit mode from SQL Agent Job.

    Dear All,
We are facing problems with maintenance plan jobs in SQL server 2012. All jobs are failing with Following error

Server details are: windows 2008 server with sql server 2012 ENT with core based licence. And SQL server , agent services are running with user 'SQLadmuser' (Nonadmin windows user). SQLadmuser is
having sysadmin server roleand in windows its nonadmin userid.
SQL Server maintenance jobs are running under sql server agent service account(by default) but jobs are failing. So After that i have created
credentials with proxy account and i have run those jobs with proxy account, all jobs are executing well with proxy.
or If iam changing SQL server, agent service accounts from SQLadmuser  to
local system the maintenance jobs are working perfect.
I have cross verified all permissions and assigned SQLadmuser previlizes to the folders, root folders and regisries but still jobs are failing .
Note: I have observed that some of SQL server related groups are not displaying in local groups and iam unable to find tose groups. one below are reflecting.
    1. Is there any relation with this sql groups to run the jobs?
    2. Why this jobs are not working with sql server agent service account?
    3. Does this create problems to whole SQL server instance in future?
    4. Running jobs with proxy account will be having any impact on server?
Could you please help me to trouble shoot the maintenance jobs, Also sharing screenshots for reference.
    Thanks in advance,
    Nagesh
    Nagesh

    Hi Nagesh,
For many of the maintenance plans which require access to file system you might have to give access for the SQL Server Agent account directly to those folders. Otherwise your SQL Agent wont have access to the file system. This is why your maintenance plan
    jobs like backups are failing.
Now the best way of dealing with this issue is what you have done. Using proxy accounts. By using proxy accounts you are not giving any additional privileges to your SQL Agent account. There is no issue for using proxy accounts for SSIS packages or Maintenance
plans where you need access outside of SQL. Infact proxy accounts are introduced for this purpose, so that Agent account can impersonate the credentials in the proxy and run the job in its security context.
The reason why the jobs are successfull when you change your SQL Agent account to local system is that Local System account has access to the local file system.

Half of the filters are missing on reinstall of CS4 64 bit. If I switch over to 32 bit the High Pass filter is missing.
    Vista Ultimate 64bit
Any help to revover these filters would be appreciated.

Before you go through all that try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776?tstart=0
You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.
A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.

  • Will 64-bit office fix out of memory error?

I've been troubleshooting an out of memory error in Excel 2010 for some time. I've read quite a few articles on forums and on MS sites (including here.) I find many hits but none seems to offer a solution that works. One idea that seems to show
up often is that 64-bit Office versions will have a LOT MORE memory to work with than 32-bit versions. I'm running a 64-bit version of Windows 7, so I'm considering giving Office 2010 64-bit a try. However, I also find a lot of caveats in those articles that
concern me. On the other hand most of those articles are 2 to 3 years old, so I'm wondering if most of those issues have been dealt with. For example, VBA issues; third-party add-ins that do not (did not) support 64-bit; ActiveX and COM issues.
Sorry to be overly verbose. My questions pretty much come down to this:
    1. Is 64-bit likely to solve my out of memory problem?
    2. What issues are still unresolved in 64-bit Excel with Windows 7?
    TIA,
    Phil

If you are an Excel power user working with huge amounts of data, then you would benefit from 64-bit Office being able to utilize more memory.
MS is recommending 32-bit Office as the default installation on both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows mainly due to compatibility with existing 32-bit controls, add-ins, and VBA.
This is really not an issue that can be resolved on Office side, it depends on whether you are using any 32-bits controls, add-ins and VBA. The question is those existing 32-bit controls, add-ins and vba need an update to adapter to the 64bit of Office.
If all your controls, add-ins and VBA is 64 bits, or designed to work with 64 bits of Office, then you are good.

  • Locate all 64 bit Office 2013 across AD

You can probably do this with the method Don007 mentions; otherwise, this may work for you as well. I think you will need the Pro version of PDQ Inventory to do so.
Create a scan profile to look for the registry key in relation to it being a 32-bit or 64-bit install. The registry entries I show below are for Office 2010, so you should just need to replace "14.0" with "15.0" I believe. You will need to run this scan profile against your devices. The bitness value will be displayed as either x86 or x64.Create a collection that equals x64 and another for x86.Additional information:https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee681792(office.14).aspxhttp://stackoverflow.com/questions/2203980/detect-whether-office-is-32bit-or-64bit-via-the-registry

We have a couple 64 Bit Office 2013 installs in the wild that I'm trying to track down.
I have PDQ Inventory, but am unable to get it to find 64 bit versions. I also tried running a .ps1 script I found but it doesn't seem to scan the network/AD.
    Can anyone offer any guidance?
    Thank you
