8.2 EPPM Application Server Java Heap Size

Hello I am reading the sizing guide is there a way to calculate the Java Heap Size required? The guide suggest 8GB was wondering if anyone has any experience and how much java heap size are you using?

JVM configuration is largely based on the load on the server. You can start with as little as 2GB and based on the load, you can increase it. Other factors that you need to consider is the number of CPU, RAM, Swap space etc.

  • How to increase Memory and Java Heap Size for Content Server

    Hi,
My content server is processing requests very slowly. Over performance is not good. I have 2 GB of RAM any idea what files I can modify to increase the Java Heap Size for the Content Server. If I increase the RAM to 4 or 6 GB where do I need to make changes for the Java Heap Size and what are the recommended values. I just have Content Server Running on the linux box. Or how do I assign more memory to the user that owns the content server install.
    Thanks

Looks like ur getting   heap size error while trying to fetch  records for ctparts complex table. From platform  point of view you have increased heap size. Next step is to analyze application settings for ctparts  complex table. As indicated by Steve from application point you need check the need for  amount of materials your trying to retrive , can you set filter for ctparts ,  does  ctparts  BAPI execute in SAP without any timeout error.
What is the version of Work Manager your using ?    With WM 6.1 you have options to  take advantage of data staging that is delievered as part of standard application.
    Thanks

  • How can I know the version of Application Server Java Virtual Machine

How can I know the version of Application Server Java Virtual Machine?
    Thanks a lot.

Thats easy. Your jdk/jre are located in the App Server home directory. Just run the java command under the jdk directory with the "-version" switch and it will provide you with detailed information about your VM.
For example if you're doing it at command prompt it will be something like
java -versionI hope this will be useful to you.

  • Installing Application Server JAVA on SQL 2005

We are looking to install a NW 7.0 system with Application Server Java only. We would like to install the SCS and the Central Instance on one host on a Windows 2008 64-bit server and the Database Instance on a seperate host. The DB host is a Windows 2008 32-bit server and has MSSQL 2005 installed on it.
We are new to MSSQL with SAP and have a couple questions:
    1) Is the scenario I described above possible? Looking at the PAM it looks like we need to have Windows 2008 on a 64-bit platform in order for SQL 2005 to work.
    2) For installing the database instance, do you have to use sapinst on the DB host and install the database instance? If so, how do you connect the SCS to the DB? Or can you use the sapinst where the SCS was installed and link to the DB host?
Thanks and any help would be great.
    Dale Dingmann

    Hi Dale
If you're installing this to work as a Clustered system, I think you want to have the 2 servers (DB & CI) the same.

  • Landscape component for ERP6 Application Server Java

    Hi All,
I have installed the server using the option as below:
    SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4 Ready - SR1 >> Application Server Java
The server will be used for ESS/MSS and E-Recruiting usage.
    Question:
May I know how should I correctly classify it under the "Landscape Components"?
I have tried categorizing it under "SAP ERP" and marked ECC Server and EP core as relevant. Is that correct?
I'm a bit confused on the assignment for the Application Server Java.
    Thanks for your advice.
    Thanks,

Did you register the system in SLD?
Cause it should automatically choose the right component.

  • Java heap size settings - Cant find the path in Registry.

    Hello All,
I am trying to check Java Heap size for my planning. I was asked to check the Java heap size setting in the below path
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/HYPERION SOLUTIONS/HYPERION PLANNING/HYPERION S9PLANNING/JVM OPTIONS.
but when I checked, I dont see that options in my registry, I have the below mentioned path.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/HYPERION SOLUTIONS/HYPERION PLANNING/OFFLINE
and it doesnt show any jvm options.
Please advice where can i check for Java heap sizes.
    Thanks,

It can depend on version, an example is - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_install_11121/ch07s01s01.html
    Cheers

  • How do we monitor Java heap size

How do we monitor Java heap size? Is there any way to check whether we are exceeding the heap size or not?

You should run your JAVA AS with the recommended settings described in the note
"Java VM settings for J2EE 6.30/6.40/7.0"
    SAP Note Number: 723909.
If you do so, you can find the garbage collector log messages in your dev_server* or your std_server*.out file.
You can also use the option -Xloggc:<file> to log to a seperate file.
You can visualize the GC log file with a tool like GCViewer.
    See
    http://www.javaperformancetuning.com/tools/gcviewer/index.shtml
for an overview of this tool.

  • CRM Application Server Java and Portal components on same Java stack

    Hi Team,
We are currently performing solution design and want some information on CRM install.
Want to know if there is any restriction  for installing CRM Application Server Java and Portal components on same Java stack(With same SID). Also want to know if SAP WEB UIF 7.0 can work similar to that of Portal for CRM applications?
Any information around this would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Do You have any servlets or filters defined using annotations? Maybe one of these servlets/filters catches the '/login' request first. I have very similar solution and it works fine. Also, how do You check that the servlet under '/login' url pattern isn't invoked?
