802.1x Enterprise Connection Issues

Hello-
I'm trying to access the wireless network at school which utilizes 802.1x . However, each time I try to login I keep getting an association failed message.
The general details of the network are as follows:
SSID (aka, Network Name):
psu    *note that the SSID is case sensitive and must be all lower case
Network Type:
  Infrastructure
Security:
  WPA2-Enterprise (not WPA2-PSK)
Encryption:
  AES
Authentication Type:
  EAP-TTLS
Authentication Protocol:
  PAP
Certificate Authority:
  Thawte Premium Server CA
Authentication Server:
  radius1.aset.psu.edu
I tried to take the simple route and install the certificates and just authenticate with my username and password but it fails each time. I don't know if there is anything i'm missing.
Post relates to: HP TouchPad (WiFi)

I am having the exactly same problem as ecko04. I also tried to intall the certificate provided by my university but it failed. Could somebody help us out? Thanks

  • PowerBook and iMac 802.11 G connectivity issues

I have a Linksys WCG200 (Cable modem/ 4 port wired /802.11G wireless router) that I use to share internet with two notebook PCs (work) and my Powerbook G4 and iMac G5. This set-up has worked flawlessly for 6 months.
Recently, I have run into the issue of not being able to connect wirelessly with my Macs. If I take the PowerBook to within a few feet fo the router, it will sometimes "see" it, but then when attempting to connect, it will indicate "there was an error connecting to the network". The PC notebooks see the router OK and my MACs see all the neighbors SSID's, but not mine. My SSID is not hidden, and I can still wire the MACs to the router and connect OK.
The firmware on the Linksys is not user upgradeable and I have not changed it.
All software updates on the MACs are current.
    Any ideas?

Cheers for the quick replies, but I'm feeling particularly stupid today. I'm going to the recommended website on the BT help page to do it - http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/32376/kw/802.11n/c/346,502,504 - but it's just now showing up. "Problem loading page" and all that.
Ah well, I just checked the streaming video problem using another device, and it works fine, so I'm guessing the problem is nothing to do with my network and something to do with the 360.

  • Airport Express 802.11g Airplay Connection Issues

My dad has had an AirPort Express 802.11g hooked up to his stereo for a couple of years now. Uses it only to stream music. Our WiFi network is run by an older AirPort Extreme 802.11n (2nd Generation). Express firmware is at 6.3, as high as it can go for the g models.
2 months ago, I got my dad an iPhone 5 running iOS 6, and upgraded his MacBook to run OS X 10.7 Lion so he could sync and use iCloud and all that stuff. From that moment forward, connections to the AirPort Express are awful or nonexistent for most devices. Many times after you tell iTunes or the Music app to connect to it, when you hit play nothing will happen. Sometimes the progress bar will move, but no sound will play. Other times the sound will start, go for ~5 seconds, and then cut out. No issues with staying on the WiFi network.
Devices AirPlay DOES NOT work properly with:
    - Dad's MacBook (final-gen plastic model) running OS X 10.7
    - Dad's iPhone 5 (iOS 6)
    - My iPhone 4S (iOS 6)
    Devices AirPlay DOES work with:
    - Dad's older iMac running OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard
    - My MacBook Air running OS X 10.8.4 Mountain Lion
None of his music is on the iMac, and the concept of doing a VNC to make it work would be far out of his level of understanding.
Is this a case of me just needing to get him a new AirPort Express for full compatibility, or is there another workaround? Eventually I'm going to get him off of his MacBook and up to something more currently, like my Air in September when I upgrade.
This is practically the only thing my dad uses his computer for, so any help I can receive to get this working would be MUCH appreciated.

    Hello niclake,
I found an article for you that would be a good place to start troubleshooting Airplay on the AppleTV.
    Troubleshooting AirPlay and AirPlay Mirroring
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4215
Troubleshooting performance issues with AirPlay or AirPlay Mirroring
If you are experiencing intermittent playback or significant network lag with AirPlay or AirPlay Mirroring, it could be due to a weak Wi-Fi connection, interference, or the distance between the Wi-Fi router and your iOS device, Apple TV or AirPort Express. Try the following suggestions:
Ensure that other devices are not trying to stream to the same Apple TV at the same time.
Turn off Bluetooth on your iOS device by tapping Settings > General > Bluetooth.
Ensure that your Wi-Fi router is set up with the recommended settings for the best performance.
Certain external devices, such as microwave ovens and baby monitors, may interfere with a Wi-Fi network. Try moving or disabling these devices.
If possible, try to locate your Wi-Fi router in the same room as your Apple TV and iPhone/iPad.
If your wireless and wired networks are the same, try connecting your Apple TV to the router via Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi.
If the Wi-Fi router has an external antenna, check to see that is it connected properly and in good condition.
Use the Wi-Fi network troubleshooting guide to resolve interference and other issues.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • HT3546 802.11ac bridge connectivity Issues

I have been unsuccessful in connecting any 802.11ac bridge, regardless of brand. This is a new airport extreme and should accept any ac compatible bridge. Manual setup also does not work. No luck connecting in a secured or unsecured network. Suggestions?

You might want to review the System Requirements for the "ac" product, as it sounds like you are trying to set up the "ac" product using an older 5.x.x version of AirPort Utility. Don't think that will work well at all.
    From the Product Specifications:    http://www.apple.com/airport-extreme/specs/
    Setup and Administration
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later and AirPort Utility 1.3
Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and AirPort Utility 6.3
The Apple 802.11ac products will "bridge" together just fine, whether you are using Ethernet or wireless to connect the devices togerther.
Setup is virtually automatic using AirPort Utility 6.3 on a Mac, or the utility on an iOS device.
An Ethernet "bridge" would probably work with another brand, but I doubt that wireless would work, as Apple uses proprietary settings to "extend a wireless network". Chances are very slim that you will be able to get Apple to work with another brand of router using wireless.

  • Wireless Connectivity Issue with 802.11n.

We have a 5508 Controller and sixteen 1142 APs.
Several of our laptops were experiencing connectivity issues over Wireless.  Older laptops that do not support 11n are not having any problems.
I disabled 802.11n for both 'a' and 'b/g' in the Controller.  Now the newer laptops connect with no issues.
They would in fact connect to the APs while 11n was available, just no Internet Access - (cannot ping DG, etc).  Disabling/Enabling the laptop WL adapter would allow brief access (sometimes), but they'd quickly lose Internet Access once again.
Our WLANs are configured for WPA2/AES.
This looks like a 802.11n configuration issue at either the Controller or the Laptops (or both).  Both are using the Default settings for 801.11n.
Any recommendations for correcting this?  Are there best practice guidelines for configuring 802.11n?
    Thanks.

  • Authentication error when creating EPM Add-in connection with SAP BO Enterprise connection type

    Hello, Experts,
I have a problem with creation of EPM Add-in connection when SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise connection type is selected.
An error message is "Error while communicating with the server. Framework message: Authorization failed."
Here are the steps that were implemented and how this issue was reproduced:
SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation 10.0 SP12 for Microsoft was installed and configured.
Integration between SAP BPC and SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.1 SP02 was implemented. SAP BO users can successfully connect to SAP BPC system.
EPM connector was successfully installed and deployed in SAP BusinessObjects BI server.
BPC ODBO 2.0 SP04 64BIT was installed in SAP BusinessObjects server.
EPM connection was successfully created in SAP BusinessObjects CMC.
EPM Add-in and BPC ODBO 2.0 SP04 32BIT was installed in another computer (let's call it CLIENT) which has MS Office 2007 32BIT installed.
From CLIENT computer we have launched Excel manually and successfully created BPC connection with Connection Type - Local.
Then we have logged into BI Launch Pad and launched New / EPM document (Excel). Excel has started.
In EPM Add-in we have pressed Logon.
In connection window selected SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise connection type.
An error "Error while communicating with the server. Framework message: Authorization failed." appears.
Before this error appears we are not getting any window where we could select EPM connection (created in CMC) nor the possibility to enter username or password.
Looking forward you valuable comments and suggestions.
    Thank you in advance.
    Donatas Budrys

    Dear, Roberto,
Our user has Full Access to all BPC tasks and it is administrator in BI system.
Also we can successfully connect with the same user using Connection type "Local".
We had done some investigation and in the BPC SQL Server trace log we can catch the following message when an error occurs:
    ==============[System Error Tracing]==============
[System  Name] : BPCXMLAService [Message Type] : ErrorMessage [Job Name]    : ValidateUser [DateTime]    : 04/23/2014 10:58:06 [UserId]      : [Exception]    DetailMsg  : {System.Exception: Invalid user    at SAP.BPC.Services.Webservice.XMLAService.XMLAService.ValidateUser()} ==============[System Error Tracing  End ]==============
It is very interesting that after the EPM workbook is launched via BI Launch Pad till an error occurs we are NOT provided with possibility to enter any username and password. So the EPM add-in should use the same user which was logged into BI Launch Pad - in our case the user with administrative rights both in BI Launch Pad and BPC systems. Am I missing anything?
    Looking forward your feedback.
    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards,
    Donatas

  • IPad2, Verizon 3G, VPN Connectivity Issues

Greetings all. I am the systems administrator for my corporation and have seen an issue that I wish to present to the community for discussion.
For those enterprise users that have an iPad2 with Verizons 3G, are you experiencing connectivity issues while trying to connect to your VPNs from the 3G network? If so, have you found any work around to allow connectivity or does it work fine for you?
Here's a summary of my issues:
We have a VPN server built on Debian Linux that has been in operation for over four years. It handles remote VPN connections from Windows, Linux,  Android, OS X, iOS, and from many different devices including multiple flavors of Apple products (iMacs, Minis, MacBooks, iPads, etc.). To date, it has performed flawlessly with assorted devices connecting to it through broadband and assorted 3G networks.
Recently I purchased an iPad2 with Verizon 3G. I was able to set up the VPN connection using PPTP and connect using a Wi-Fi connection. When I turned off the Wi-Fi and attempted the same connection via Verizon 3G, it fails. I then took an associates iPad1 using AT&T 3G, set up the same connection, and was able to connect. I don't have access to an iPad2 on AT&T 3G so, I can't speak for that.
Here's the logs from the VPN server while connecting from my iPad2:
    Wi-Fi
    Jul 27 05:20:43 localhost pppd[31694]: Plugin /usr/lib/pptpd/pptpd-logwtmp.so loaded.
    Jul 27 05:20:43 localhost pppd[31694]: pptpd-logwtmp: $Version$
    Jul 27 05:20:43 localhost pppd[31694]: pppd 2.4.4 started by root, uid 0
    Jul 27 05:20:43 localhost pppd[31694]: Using interface ppp2
    Jul 27 05:20:43 localhost pppd[31694]: Connect: ppp2 <--> /dev/pts/4
    Jul 27 05:20:46 localhost pppd[31694]: Unsupported protocol 'IPv6 Control Protocol' (0x8057) received
Jul 27 05:20:46 localhost pppd[31694]: found interface eth1 for proxy arp
    Jul 27 05:20:46 localhost pppd[31694]: local  IP address 192.168.1.69
    Jul 27 05:20:46 localhost pppd[31694]: remote IP address 192.168.1.82
    Jul 27 05:20:46 localhost pppd[31694]: pptpd-logwtmp.so ip-up ppp2 scott XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX (removed external IP for security reasons)
Quick connect, able to utilize VPN connection normally. No issues.
    Verizon 3G
    Jul 27 05:20:29 localhost pppd[31682]: Plugin /usr/lib/pptpd/pptpd-logwtmp.so loaded.
    Jul 27 05:20:29 localhost pppd[31682]: pptpd-logwtmp: $Version$
    Jul 27 05:20:29 localhost pppd[31682]: pppd 2.4.4 started by root, uid 0
    Jul 27 05:20:29 localhost pppd[31682]: Using interface ppp2
    Jul 27 05:20:29 localhost pppd[31682]: Connect: ppp2 <--> /dev/pts/4
Jul 27 05:20:32 localhost pppd[31682]: peer refused to authenticate: terminating link
    Jul 27 05:20:33 localhost pppd[31682]: Connection terminated.
    Jul 27 05:20:33 localhost pppd[31682]: Exit.
As you can see, the peer refuses to authenticate causing the link to be terminated while attempting to connect using Verizons network. This is with the same VPN connection settings on the iPad2 that just worked with WiFi connection from the same device.
Here's what I can verify with regards to 3G networks:
Older (<4) iPhones and iPad1 using AT&T can connect
Windows and OS X based laptops using Sprint 3G can connect
Android based smart phones using Sprint 3G can connect
I have not called Verizon or Apple Support yet but, that's next when I have the time. My initial conclusion is that there is something with Verizons 3G services that is causing the issue. It may be that Verizon is using some sort of data compression process that is problematic with VPN transmission. While the log shows an unsupported IPv6 protocol when connecting via Wi-Fi, it still negotiates a successful connection and I don't think that's the root cause for the disconnect. Thoughts?

    Hi Alexander,
I am running in to the exact same issue (although not with Linux).  Did you ever find a fix for this?  I have some support tickets open with my VAR's, but found your post and thought I would check.  If I find anything I will post.
    Thanks

  • 802.11n 5ghz Connection Problem with OS X 10.4.11 Tiger

I've searched the communities for answer to this vexing issue to no avail, so I am trying a post.
    Situation:
I have a dual-band 1TB TC at home set up with three networks: 802.11g/b/a, 802.11n ((5ghz), and Guest Network (g/b).  There are four Macs accessing it: (2) mid-2009 15" MacBook Pros, 2009 MacBook Air, mid-2006 24" iMac.  All are running Snow Leopard 10.6.7 except the 24" iMac (Core 2 Duo) running 10.4.11.
All Macs can connect to to all networks EXCEPT the iMac which has a problem with the 802.11n (5ghz) connection ONLY.  The iMac has the n-enabler installed (can see it registered when looking at Network Utility).  In fact, the iMac will connect but any attempt to access to the Internet or TC disk stalls the system.  Switch back to 802.11g and everything is fine.
I've looked at the Console for guidance but cannot find anything problematic (to my eyes, anyway).  I booted this iMac to Snow Leopard from an external disk and the problem cannot be duplicated, so I am assuming this is not a hardware issue with the iMac.  I also, did a fresh install of Tiger and updated it to 10.4.11 plus all Airport updates and n-ebabler on an external drive, booted from this drive and have the same issue with the 5 ghz n-connection.
By the way, when connected to 802.11n (5ghz) network with the iMac, I have full bars on the menubar fan, but then one bar drops after a minute or so.  When this happens, I cannot access the Internet nor the TC disk.
I've tried various tweaks as described in the many, many discussion threads here: resets, establish new locations, clear/repair the keychain, and many others.
I did not have this problem in the past with this iMac, so don't know what has changed with the system configuration.  The g-connection is rock-solid, so Internet access is fine, but file transfer speeds ober the network are obviously much slower now than with the 5ghz n-connection.
Anyone have any ideas?  Without suggesting an upgrade to 10.6...clearly that should do the trick.  I have other reasons for running Tiger on the iMac.
    Thanks.

I wonder if all the activity was too much for the hard drive and it failed....you might contact Apple about this repair extension program to see if you qualify...

  • Oracle Connectivity Issue

    Hi,
We have installed Oracle 11g in our system. We were able to connect to the database instance, sql plus and all. Suddenly yesterday onwards we were not able to connect to the instance. It is throwing error such as
"An error was encountered performing the requested operation:
The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
    Vendor code 20"
I have found many solutions for the same in the net such as
    1) Run the listener service again (Already it is running in windows services. Even if I restarted it, no use)
2)Adding the user_dedicated_server=ON in sqlnet.ora for the server which is mentioned as SERVER = DEDICATED in tnsnames.ora file
3)Not able to open sql plus or start the listener from command prompt. (its throwing error Message 1070 not found; No message file for product=NETWORK, facility=TNSTNS-12557: Message 12557 not found; No message file for product=NETWORK, facility=TNS
TNS-12560: Message 12560 not found; No message file for product=NETWORK, facility=TNS
TNS-00527: Message 527 not found; No message file for product=NETWORK, facility=TNS)
4)In oracle enterprise manager, its showing the error for the agent connection such as
    Status          Failed
Details          ORA-12541: TNS:no listener (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach)
Please let us know what to do???
    Thanks In Advance....

Is this behavior specific to using Oracle Providers for ASP.NET? Are you able to connect via sqlplus from the same client machine? If this is a basic client connectivity issue unrelated to the ASPNET providers, you'll probably want to post in a different forum. What behavior do you get if you try to connect from SQLPlus?

  • JCaps 5.1.2 HL7 Connectivity issues

Using the HL7Inbound and HL7Outbound projects, we are experiencing several major HL7 eway connectivity issues:
    Inbound:
    1. The Enterprise Manager does not report the external connection state.
We need to deternime the real- time external connection state.
    2. Alerts are not reported in the Enterprise Manager for external disconnects.
    3. When the external disconnects, the eway accepts the re-connect, but does not recieve the data. the external reports a timeout.
In order to receive new data, we have to disable and enable the project.
    4. When an external connects, netstat reports an additional LISTEN as well as the ESTABLISHED connection. There are also stale CLOSE_WAIT states for past connections. See netstat below:
    testican.mgh.harvard.edu.8888 devican.mgh.harvard.edu.60314 49640 0 49640 0 CLOSE_WAIT

    testican.mgh.harvard.edu.8888 devican.mgh.harvard.edu.63206 49640 136 49640 0 ESTABLISHED
    Outbound:
    1. the outbound HL7 eway does not connect unless there is data to send.
We need to auto connect to the external as soon as the project is deployed.
    2. The same external state connection reporting issue as the Inbound exists for the outbound as well.
No reports for realtime external connection status, or alerts.
We have been using datagate and egate/SRE for 15 years and have not experienced these type of major issues with HL7 eways.
If anyone has experienced any of these issues, and can provide feedback or possible recommendations, we would appreciate it.
As is stands now, JCaps for HL7 is unuseable.
    Thanks for any feedback

  • Intune Company Portal iOS app - Connection Issue: Unexpected connection issue occured

    Greetings,
I am in the process of enrolling an iOS device and I have installed the Intune Company Portal App.  When I attempt to sign in, it starts to redirect me "We are taking you to your company sin-in page" then the app says "Connection Issue,
    an unexpected connection issue occurred.
However if I attempt to enroll via the web site, "manage.microsoft.com" I am redirected to our companies sing-signon portal which is expected. When I login there it attempt to connect what I think is "manage.microsoft.com" but the
    page never loads.
Earlier I was able to get to our Companies Portal but there was no option to "Install a Profile" onto the device.
The Intune Service Dashboard is reporting issues so I am wondering if this is part of the cause.  However when I was able to connect I still did not have any options to install a profile onto the device.
We are utilizing Intune with Configuration Manager 2012 R2.
Thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

    Hi Jörgen,
Thank you for the response.  I am able to bring up my company portal page now via the iOS browser which looks like the area to install the managed profile, however their is no option on the screen to "Install".
When I look at my Intune admin portal, the Enterprise Mobility Suite selection boxes are greyed out and it does not appear from the console I have any options to enable this for my user account.  I am thinking this is the reason
I am not getting any options to install the manage profiles.  We are integrated with SCCM 2012R2, and I have configured the Intune subscription inside of SCCM and have added the site system roles to the server as well.
I think part of the issue is we recently enrolled in the Enterprise Mobility Suite and we had a trial of Intune which has expired.  I do have the option in the portal to enable "Microsoft Intune" for my account
but that service is expired and should have been replaced with the Enterprise Mobility Suite but those options are currently greyed out.
I don't know if this is going to prompt a call to MS Support to see what is going on with our account.
    Thank You

  • Universe Node connectivity issues in predictive workbench

    Hi all,
I have a problem and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this.
I am using the business objects plugin within predictive workbench(PW), I am using the enterprise login to access the Business Object server from within PW. When I add a universe node to the stream and start to work with the node I intermittently get errors stating that there is a problem with the 'createDocument.API', 'cannot initialise report engine server' amongst others.
The only way to solve this connection issue and be able to use the universe node again is to restart the BOBJ service via the SIA.
When these errors occur I am able to use Webi to carry out reports within BOBJ, this points me to the universe node.
Predictive workbench is accessing data via a Business Objects Universe Node.
Has anyone else had similar problems and if so do you have any advice?
    Many thanks
    Dave

We had not been provided with all the licenses, after much investigation added the next license and this solved the issue

  • Troubleshooting for RPC over https (Outlook Anywhere) connection issue

RPC over https (ROH), well known as Outlook Anywhere, is more frequently used. Even in Exchange 2013, Outlook no longer connects CAS server via MAPI.
In this thread, we will discuss about the troubleshoot checklist about the RPC over https (Outlook Anywhere) connection issue. In order to make it more logical, I’d like to divide the whole troubleshooting to the following processes:
    1. Client side to CAS side
    2. CAS side to MBX side
[Issues between Client side to CAS side]
In Exchange 2013, Outlook Anywhere is enabled by default. Different from this, Outlook Anywhere in Exchange 2007 and 2010 need to be manually enabled. Thus, please firstly check if the RPC over HTTP component has been installed:
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
    Double-click Programs and Features.
In the left pane of Server Manager, click Features.
In the right pane, click Add Features.
Check if the RPC over HTTP component has been selected.
If the ROH connectivity issue only happens on certain users, the property MAPIBlockOutlookRpcHTTP can be checked:
    Get-CASMailbox  name | fl MAPIBlockOutlookRpcHttp
    2. Confirm if Exchange server is blocked. Ping the Exchange server FQDN on client machine and confirm if it can return the proper IP address.
    3. Check if the RPC Proxy server is responding correctly:
     rpcping -t ncacn_http -s ExchServer -o RpcProxy=RPCProxyServer -P "user,domain,*" -I "user,domain,*" -H 2 -u 10 -a connect -F 3 -v 3 -E -R none
If 200 code returns, the test is successful.
    4. Check if Outlook Anywhere host names are added in the certificate:
To get host names, the following command can be used: get-outlookanywhere |fl *hostname
    5. To use the Shell to test Outlook Anywhere connectivity, use the
    Test-OutlookConnectivity cmdlet.
[Issues between CAS side to Mailbox side][RZ1]
    A. Check if it can connect to store’s port:
    RpcPing –t ncacn_http –s ExchangeMBXServer -o RpcProxy=RpcProxyServer -P "user,domain,password" -I "user,domain,password" -H 1 –F 3 –a connect –u 10 –v 3 –e 6001
If it returns as following: Completed 1 calls in 60 ms  16 T/S or 60.000 ms/T, it means the RPC Ping Utility test succeeds.
    B. Check if it can Connect to DsProxy Service:
    RpcPing –t ncacn_http –s ExchangeMBXServer -o RpcProxy=RpcProxyServer -P "user,domain,password" -I "user,domain,password" -H 2 –F 2 –a connect –u 10 –v 3 –e 6004
If it returns as following: Completed 1 calls in 60 ms  16 T/S or 60.000 ms/T, it means the RPC Ping Utility test succeeds.
    C. Check the following registries:
    [Disable the auto update]
    1).Open Regedit and navigate to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeServiceHost\RpcHttpConfigurator\RpcHttpConfigurator
2).Set the PeriodicPollingMinutes value to 0.
    [Check the RpcProxy ValidPorts]
1).On the RPC proxy server, start Registry Editor (Regedit).
2). In the console tree, locate the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Rpc\RpcProxy
3). In the details pane, right-click the ValidPorts subkey, and then click Modify.
4). In Edit String, in the Value data box, type the following information:
    ExchangeServer :6001-6002; ExchangeServerFQDN :6001-6002; ExchangeServer :6004; ExchangeServerFQDN :6004
    Note:
ExchangeServer is the NetBIOS name of your Exchange server. ExchangeServerFQDN is the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of your Exchange server. If the FQDN that is used to access the server from the Internet differs from the internal FQDN, you must use
    the internal FQDN.
[Check the 6004 port settings in registry]
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeSA\Parameters
    Value name: HTTP Port
    Value type: REG_DWORD
    Value data: 0x1772 (Decimal 6002)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeSA\Parameters
    Value name: Rpc/HTTP NSPI Port
    Value type: REG_DWORD
    Value data: 0x1774 (Decimal 6004)
    D. Check if the RPC ports are used by other applications instead of Exchange by using : netstat –o
Then it will return all active TCP connections and the process ID (PID) for each connection.
After that, please check the application based on the PID on the Processes tab in Windows Task Manager and confirm if it’s Exchange server.
Additionally, ExRCA is a perfect tool to test the whole connection between client side and Mailbox side:
    https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/
    1. On the ExRCA website, under Microsoft Office Outlook Connectivity Tests, select Outlook connectivity, and then select Next at the bottom of the page.
    2. Enter the required information on the next screen, including email address, domain and user name, and password.
    3. Choose whether to use Autodiscover to detect server settings or to manually specify server settings.
    4. Accept the disclaimer, enter the verification code, and then select Verify.
    5. Select Perform Test.

I've just restored the M11 to Windows XP with the disks provided and Outlook Anywhere connected without issue. As strange as it sounds, this looks to be isolated to this particular model of laptop and Windows 7.
I've used the same Enterprise copy of Windows 7 and Office on a variety of laptops and pc's and none have come across this problem. The only commonality I can see is the hardware and OS.
Aftery trying to troubleshoot this unsuccessfully with Microsoft tech support for a few hours, they eluded to the fact that this +could+ be a hardware related problem. (driver, adapter properties, etc)

  • Crystal Reports for Enterprise connection error to BI 4.0 Platform

    Hi All
We are trying to connect Crystal Reports for Enterprise to our BI 4.0 Platform, however we are getting the following error: "Failed to establish a connection. The cause was: Cannot connect to SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise at this time. Please try again later".
    System Information:
    - SAP BI Platform 4.0 SP02 patch 6
    - Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit
    - Tomcat 6.0.24
We have also installed the following client software:
    - SAP BI Platform Client Tools 4.0 SP02
    - SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise 4.0 SP02
    - SAP BI Platform Client Tools 4.0 SP02 Patch 6
    - SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise 4.0 SP02 Patch 6
Our deployment of the BI Platform is a distributed system where
    - Server 1 hosts the BI Platform Services and
    - Server 2 hosts the web application server
We have reviewed the following OSS Notes below from SAP first to determine if there is a technical issue :
    - 1598906 - Crystal Reports for Enterprise gives Cannot Connect to SAP Business Objects Enterprise at this time. Please try again later.
We have adjusted the "dsws.properties" as mentioned in the OSS note 1598906 above to contain the correct CMS and CMS port number (for Server 1).
    - 1602024 - Error - Failed to establish a connection. The cause was - Cannot Connect to SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise at this time.
We have entered the server context as "/dswsbobje" mentioned in the OSS note 1602024 above in the connection details for CR for Enterprise connections
    - 1636862 - Login for Crystal Reports fail on BO Server Cannot Connect to SAP Business Objects Enterprise at this time.
We have checked the proxy settings of Internet Explorer and adjusted it to have the following exceptions defined:
    - Server 1.<domain_name>
    - Server 2.<domain.name>
In the CMC, we also checked in the applications section for the web service option's access URL andchanged it from http://localhost:8080/dswsbobje to http://server2:8080/dswsbobje
We restarted the tomcat service and tried to access the CR for Enterprise from the BI Launch Pad as well as starting it directly from Windows, howevere we still get the same error.

    Hi Anna-Marie
I apologise for only responding now back.
I have managed to logon successfully from Crystal Reports for Enterprise 2011 to the BI 4.0 Platform now, where we can create a report and save the report back to the BI Platform.
As we have a distributed system, where the BI Platform is on one server (Server1) and the WebAs on another server (Server2). We had to adjust thefollowing settings on the WebAs system.
    1. On the WebAs server (Server 2), in the directory <install drive>:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\webapps\dswsbobje\WEB-INF we changed the file: web.xml by entering the default CMS.
        <context-param>
            <param-name>cms.default</param-name>
            <param-value>Server2:6400</param-value>
        </context-param>
2.Then also in the directory <install drive>:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\webapps\dswsbobje\WEB-INF\classes we changed the file: dsws.properties where the section for domain=Server2 to domain=Server1 (example below from the file)
#default host for CMS and will be replaced during installationdomain=Server1:6400
    3. In internet explorer's proxy exceptions, we set the following:
    server1.<domain>*
    server2.<domain>*
    4. In the local Intranet setting, we also set the site as:
    http://*.<domain>
Now for my laptop the connection works with no issues, but another developer's does not work - so we are busy investigating what is different between my laptop and his laptop.
    Update:
We found that a setting inside the Crystal Reports for Enterprise 2011 in the network settings had to also be adjusted.
    5. Use the menu path: Edit > Preferences > Network settings
    6. Switch from "use system proxy configuration (if available)" to "Manual proxy configuration"
Enter the HTTP proxy address: proxy_server
    Enter the Port: 80 (example)
Enter the list of servers to bypass: Server1;Server2
Check the checkbox "Enable proxy authentication"
    Enter a username
    Enter a password
    Click on the OK button.
    7. Afterward change the setting from "Manual proxy configuration" to  "use system proxy configuration (if available)"
Then Crystal Reports for Enterprise 2011 works correctly.
What we found was that Crystal Reports for Enterprise 2011 must authenticate against the proxy server first otherwise one has issues.
    Regards
    Derek
