One thing is baffling me, why does BlackBerry not make their sync program compatible with Mac?
With a larger market share then ever, and rapidly growing, thanks to Vista. You would think that they would want to cater to those people who are making the switch from P.C. to Mac that are currently BlackBerry users. Instead, they continue to seemingly be set in their ways and only put out software that is windows compatible. Making someone like me wonder is BlackBerry is right for them.
I am now thinking about making the switch to the iPhone. The only downfall with this is that I have been a Verizon customer for going on 9 years now and am very happy with their service and coverage, and have used At&t/Cingular in the past and was not that happy with the coverage. So now I am stuck with the dilemma..Do I continue with the service and coverage of Verizon and deal with BlackBerry's inability to change with the times, or do I migrate over to the iPhone and a service that is less then lustrous.
Now, there are work-arounds for the BlackBerry. But it involves installing VMware Fusion, running Windows XP as a parallel OS. I then have to export all my contacts as a vCard from my Mac Address book and importing it into the windows and then finally using the BlackBerry. And that only resolves the issue of the contacts, not the calendar, the to-do list or the notes.
The wife makes a good point...........is BlackBerry getting a kick back from Microsoft? It sure is the only excuse that makes sense to me.
So tell me, do I stay with BlackBerry and hope that they wise up, or that MissingSync resolves their issues and supports the new MacBook compatibility issues? Or do I make the switch to the iPhone?

Depending on how many posts you have, it may be best to copy and paste them into Wordpress. I don't know for sure, but I dought if there is any process that will do that automatically for you. I would have your iWeb blog (edit Mode) window open and then Create a new blog in Wordpress. Copy the iWeb title/paste into Wordpress - Copy the iWeb blog text/paste into Wordpress. It should go fast once you get the first one done because you'll do the same for all. Hope that helps.

Blog post Publish vs Update

This question was asked in February here and answered, but it clearly was never addressed.
When a blog post is saved as a draft, the PUBLISH button becomes the UPDATE button and there is no longer any clear indication to the client of whether their post is public or not.
This includes the post list which does not show the status of a blog post. Is a fix coming?

It's a 2-step process. 'Creating pages' does exactly what it says. It's like publishing to a local folder, but with .Mac functionality included. Actual uploading to .Mac only commences when page creation is complete. That's when the progress indicator(s) appear, and it's only then that you regain control of the application.
As to your concern that the process takes a long time when you add 'just a new photo page', you go on yourself to explain why doing this necessitates re-creation of every page in the site — it's precisely because of 'the name of the new page being added to the list of available photo pages in the list at the top of each page'. Once you add a page and include this on the navigation bar, every page which displays the navigation bar has to be updated.

I have a question to raise here (Din't find any better place to put).
can any of SAP mentor tell me about copyright of blogs posted here in SDN? Because i have seen same blogs copied in some other sites with some other author name. Can we do anything on this regard?
For example, one of my weblog is posted in some other site, with the name of some other person.

2nd Blog posting not publishing?

Hello,
I just realized that the most recent BLOG post for my website is not loading/displaying. I have tried re-publishing to a folder and re-uploading it (via godaddy) using FETCH, but the BLOG still isn't correct. The first post is fine, just the second. Any reason(s) this would happen?

Does anyone know if there's a way to create a blog?
Why would you think that you need to publish to .Mac to have a blog?
Blog Comments/Searching will be missing if you use another server, but you can use Haloscan for comments.

Why won't blog post go through?

I am a school teacher running a blog for my class via the blog feature of iWeb. Problem is an error message telling respondents that their post cannot be submitted at this time consistently appears. If I republish the page, it appears to clear up the problems for about 5 minutes but then we are back to the "new" status quo!
Is anyone else experiencing this "inconvenience" and have they found a fix? I would greatly appreciate any assistance. Thanks!

I think I solved my own problem by reading other forums! If a viewer accesses your blog using web.mac instead of the new web.me designation than bad things happen!!! Everything seems to now be strictly web.me based!

Edge Animate file working on main blog page but not on the individual blog post in BC

I recently uploaded an edge animate file to my blog which is host on Business Catalyst (BC). The edge file works on the main blog page but not on the individual blog post. How can I solve this problem?
I did the following steps:
I added the required Adobe Edge scripts on my main blog template.
Create folder on the server called "edge_includes" and uploaded the 'edge.5.0.0.min' file.
Create folder on the server called "js" and uploaded the 'jquery-1.7.1.min' file.
Copy and pasted the div to the part of the blog post I wanted the file to appear (<div id="Stage" class="EDGE-13973370"></div>).
Uploaded the name of the js file to the root called 'World of Code_edge.'
Uploaded the images to the existing folder called 'images.'

I'm still unable to figure out the problem.

Also, I get mixed results on the main blog page. Sometimes the image (Edge Animate file) on the main page shows and other times it does not. However, the image never shows on the individual blog post.

Having some issues tweaking the Blog Post List Layout to output to adobe Muse

So basically, I have watched the videos on BC Gurus and have posed the question on modifying the blog module in muse to get output I want. when I use module {module_blogsitepost} it does not show all the information I want, but when I click a url to a blog post, it jumps to another page that shows the "BLOG TITLE", "BLOG DESCRIPTION", "RECENT POST", TAGS, and "ARCHIVE" which I think would be helpful on the main {module_blogsitepost} module.
So, i took the tags from the "OVERALL BLOG LIST MODULE" which does have that information and pasted into the module {module_blogsitepost} which in BC under modules is Blog Post List Layout. However the output just turns to the image below:
I really do not know what I am doing wrong, if anything at all. Is this a limit of the cooperation between adobe MUSE and BC? Should not make a difference if I am copying all the HTML and passing it into the HTML view of the Module I want. Why is there not a bracket { } module for "OVERALL BLOG LIST MODULE" on the http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/134/bc_1345.html ?
It is strange that there are modules in BC that do not show code strings to generate the output shown on this list? Is it because this capability is limited? It is strange. One other question.. And maybe this is a Muse question, I try to add text or objects to the side of the blog entry but they are pushed to the bottom? Not sure if I need to add this into an object with the Module and mark it up in html with a table to make that work? I ask because I am trying to monitize the blog and add banners to the side or top.

Blog Post does not create URL

We have a user who is trying to create a blog post, but on multiple occassions, when they copy and paste the title in, it does not auto-create a URL for the post. If they type in a title, that doesn't work either. They are using Chrome on Windows 7. The issue is intermittent, works sometimes but not others.
Any ideas? They are on a limited internet connection -- would that be the issue? Is it pinging the server before auto-creating the URL?

I woiuld first check to make sure there are no plugins / extensions running in chrome and javascript is enabled.
The URL field should mirror the typing. That's Javascript (clientside). The data would be submitted on POST.

Rss feed won't publish all my blog posts, help please!

I posted my blog in iWeb using the rss feed widget. I have about 10 blog posts on my blog, but only about 5 show up in the feed. I have changed the size of the page, and the amount of articles in the feed inspector to 20. Is this a problem with the cache? If it is I will delete it. Please help!

You are running 10.6.2 according to your profile. Download and install the v10.6.3 Combo Update
Then repair disk permissions.
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

Hi Udo,
No, it is not OK or allowed. Both of these sites appear to me to be "content farms" that post as much content as possible with the goal of moving up in search rankings and making money off of ads. They are using your content in violation of your copyright.
In the case of the blogspot.com blog (a Google property), I believe you can report the unauthorized use of your work here: http://www.google.com/support/bin/request.py?contact_type=lr_dmca&product=blogger
There are some legal ramifications to making these sorts of claims, at least in the US. These issues are outlined in the form. So, you might decide against making the claim. It's up to you.

IWeb Stops Midway Through Blog Posts

I've tried using iWeb 09 a couple of times. I have a large number of blog posts, and it gives an error message that it is unable to create a page when it reaches this page: http://web.mac.com/tehart/JurassicRants/Blog/Entries/2007/9/15_A_ForbiddenPleasure.html. It then quits publishing.
The site publishes fine with iWeb 08, but I've been unable to use '09 for anything.

The Facebook issue could be cookies.
From your Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the Security tab. Click: Show Cookies
Delete all Facebook related cookies, click Done.
*Relaunch Safari* and try uploading images to FB. If that doesn't help, you may need to uninstall the FBplugin then reinstall new.
