A few glitches hoping to find answers for...
Hey just got myself a Nokia N9 -16, although i am a nokia fan and have had several nokia phones, this would be my first Nseries... been using the phone for a few days now, and i came across a couple of small problems which are not very important but at the same time very irritating...hope to find answers or solutions to them...
1. The auto dimmer is getting on my nerve now... is there some way to turn the damn thing off... the N9 has a beautiful screen i wish i could enjoy it without any interruptions
2.no left - right icons on the message screen while typing, and the message screen is so small that a single tap never gets you where you want
3.Anyway to restore a back up file from my previous phone to the N9 from the computer? (really need to transfer my contacts, notes, and calender )
4.No Pc Suite connectivity ...i need to manage files from the computer in Data Storage mode coz i cant do it on the phone...
I really love the design and so much more ...i just hope they come up with a solution for these initial problems soon...

1. After having an N8 and using the N9 for a few weeks now, I can't find the option in settings. With my N8, an app was released to disable this. I believe you can disable it using Terminal, but unfortunately I don't know how.
P.S The dimmer is used to help you at night so the display doesn't hurt your eyes.
2. If you hold down your finger in the text entry box, a magnifying bubble will appear and let you scroll left or right, up or down.
3. You can do a Sync using either the other phone or, if you have Nokia PC Suite (not Ovi Suite) installed you can do this via the PC.
NB: Ovi Suite doesn't work for N9 but the older PC Suite does
4. Again, use PC Suite and not OVI, or when you plug your N9 into the PC, use Mass Storage mode.
NB: You cannot have system file access, only access to the /Home/User folder

I’m seriously considering getting an iPhone in the next few days and after doing my homework I have a few questions I didn’t quite find the answers in the reviews I’ve read/watched. Could anyone comment on them? Some may sound silly
1- VNC – Has anyone used the version from NateTrue over EDGE? Is that usable? I basically want to use it to access a remote library reference app running on a PC (link: http://cre.ations.net/creation/webvnc---remote-desktop--vnc-on-your-iphone)
2 - PDF viewing – Can you view PDFs that are stored on websites or just attached to emails? Also, if the PDF has only the image of scanned text, can you still pan/zoom in?

4 - Alarm - How loud is the sound of the alarm? Any former Treo users (650) who can compare the two?
5 - MP3s - If you tap on a link to an mp3 file in the browser, will it play?
6- Podcasts – Does Safari play podcasts using any of those web-based players you see in site wuch as twit, applephoneshow, etc?
7 - Contacts – I use the Palm Desktop + Treo and have my contacts in there. I don’t use outlook or other apps. Can I just export my contacts in .csv format and get them into the iPhone? Any suggestions? How about exporting/importing calendar events?

No, all of these would rely on quicktime, which doesn't really work. The iPhone doesn't support streaming audio very well.

At least once a month - sometimes much more frequently - I get calls from users asking why the file extension they "need" to upload to SharePoint is blocked.
Most recently, it was a Microsoft Access database that the user was attempting to upload to a document library. Before that, it was a shortcut link (*.url). And so on.
Is there a reference document which goes over the reasons why specific file types are blocked?
Thanks!Each blocked file format has it's own reasons for not being allowed to be stored on a SharePoint library.
Some of them are blocked because they would be processed by SharePoint Servers during the upload/download sequences, thus, possibly corrupting the system ( like dll files ). Others would cause Crawl to break ( url files ).
The Access database files are blocked for two valid reasons. First, because saving "live" to those files using Windows explorer window ( WebDAV ) doesn't work. Second because SharePoint product managers want us to use SharePoint lists instead.
And it does makes sense.
If you're in the middle of a migration from file servers to a SharePoint solution, your people could use these situations to stop and think about it for a little:

I would suggest that you buy a visa or mastercard gift card and put a few dollars on it and use it to access the store. Just add money to it before you want to buy something from the store and it will act like a normal credit card for you.

I've had this iPad thing for a few months. It used to just ask me for my password, but now it is demanding I set up four questions and answers for
"added security". I don't want to do that, I just want to carry on as I was but the machine is preventing any app downloads etc.
Seems the stupid machine is in control.
How do I get it to listen when I threaten it with a good thrashing and a one way trip to the garbage unless it does what I say?

Its really absurd to even ask this in light of the information that you have been given already. The "old fashioned" way is gone. It's Apple's store, Apples's rules and IMO - its a wise decision on Apple's part.
You do not have to comply at all, but you will not be able to purchase from iTunes anymore, but nobody is going to force you to do something that you do not want to do. -

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.

Internet Recovery Can't Find Disk for Time Machine or Reinstalling Mavericks?
I have a MacBook Pro that's a little over a year old. It froze up today when I opened it up, so I held the power button down and restarted it. When it powered on again, there was just a flashing picture of a folder with a question mark on it. I restarted it again, but this time holding down command+r to put it into internet recovery mode.
Once it got to a menu, I decided to try and use time machine. It spent a few minutes trying to find a saved backup, but it seemed to just be spinning its wheels and getting nowhere. I'm only about 60% certain that I ever saved anything on time machine, but it still seems like it should have either given me my saved option or told me I hadn't saved anything, not just run seemingly endlessly.
After that, I went back and tried to just reinstall Mavericks, but it couldn't find a disk to reinstall it on.
Does anyone know what could be causing this problem, or how I could go about fixing it so my computer is at least usable again?This is from the Apple Knowledge Base (below). Note that it automatically reverts to Internet Recovery when the hard disk "isn't available." I can't say for sure but it sounds like your hard drive may have failed in a way that it doesn't "show up" when the computer looks for it. Hopefully you do have a backup.

There are a few things to try and the article below can walk you through them before trying to hunt down a Snow Leopard install disk. I will say that it may come down to reinstall Snow Leopard but also before any troubleshooting, make sure to have a safe copy of your data.

I just noticed that I can no longer select photos out of my finder that are located in my Aperture/Iphoto Library. I used to be able to attach photos to my gmail out of the aperture library in the finder and for some reason, no longer can.
I can't access these images except to go into the applications.
Also, I'd like to import my iphoto library into aperture, and move aperture library to an external drive. I tried the import first, but there wasn't enough space. Then I tried copying over the aperture library onto the external drive but it failed bc it said file was in use.
As it is, I only have 50gb left on my imac, and the aperture library is 150gb. Also, I have over 10k images in both libraries combined and there are tons of duplicates that need to be sorted, and hopefully not messed up because I've organized most of them.
So in short, I need to know how to do the following:
-select photos in finder in aperture/iphoto libraries
-move aperture library to live on external drive
-import iphoto library into aperture library
-eliminate dups but maintain organization
-moving forward i need a better workflow so that I import images from camera, and can organize right away into albums rather than creating projects by default and then creating albums so essentially the photos are in 2 different places, even tho they are referenced
-live happily ever after
Thanks in advance for any support you can offer!!If you're using apps like iPhoto or Aperture then they replace the Finder for managing your photos. The point is that you use the (many) options available via these apps for the things you want and need to do with the Photos.
So, simply, you don't select the photos in the Finder. I'll append the supported ways to do this - which are faster and will yield the current version of your Photos - to the end of this post.

Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit Aperture
2. Copy the Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching Aperture. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
Referenced - relocate your Masters first.
These issues are covered in the Manual and on this forum hundreds of times.

You can't. Every photo is in a Project. They’re the basic building blocks of the Library.
You might want to spend a little time with the manual or the video tutorials. I'm not sure you've grasped the app you've purchased.
The following is written for iPhoto, but about 97% works for Aperture too.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto/ APerture: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics. This is what you use to attach your shot to your GMail
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps. If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto/ Aperture.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto/ Aperture not running:
For users of 10.6 and later: You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.

I have an Audigy card (SB0230), and I can't find a driver for it. I tried few solutions, and here are what I done already:
- I tried to install the newest driver from creative.com for Audigy board, but installer don't recognized my card and stopped.
- I installed KX Audio driver. Everything went ok, installer recognized my card and I had sound, but I bought this card not only for music, but for games too, so lack of EAX led me to uninstall this driver.
- I tried from the other side with the official driver. I unpacked it with WinRAR, installed it from Device Manager. It told me that this driver is not compatible with my device, but I ignored it and after restart I heard sound Unfortunetly, as for now I don't have any control over the card. Even Realtek has a control panel, so I figured out, that I must run installer to do something with my card, than just set volume :P Am I right? Where can I find driver for it's

Mobile 3.1 can't find bundle for base name labels
Hi all.
I installed the Business Objects Mobile 3.1 few days ago on a dedicated server without using proxy server because the installation is in test mode with no external access. Both products (BO Enterprise XI3.1 & BO Mobile 3.1) are installed on separate Windows Server 2003 machines. The installation has the default database (Apache Derby) and both services (VAS & VMS) are working. The mobile device is a virtual device on my PC using Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system.
The client application has been installed on mobile device and users can succesfully log on to the CMS using Enterpise Authentication method. After this two folder icons are displayed on screen, first for Local Documents and second for Server Documents. Clicking the Server Documents the following error message is displayed on screen "Can't find bundle for base name labels, locale el_GR (0x15)"
I tried to resolve the problem changing the regional settings from Greek to US in servers, my PC and Virtual Device but the exact error still appears. Does anybody knows what to do or where to look for a solution?

To get TRTYP we need to pass the TCODE which we don't want.We wanted to avoid using TCODE since our code gets executed from several TCODEs and during the process for few TCODEs it actually looses the actual TCODE..
So the alternate solution is a check on the if AUFK-AENAM is INITIAL....this field will be empty only at the first instance(when the prod order gets created) and later you can't find this empty in the whole life cycle of this prod order as this will be filled by the value "Last Changed by"..
Hence this covers our requirement.
