A few sounds missing...

iChat sounds and trashcan sounds are missing. Also, a few other pings or dongs that alerted me. I checked the prefs and everything seems proper.

Open /Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup
Select Built-In Output
Set the Format to 44100Hz at 2ch-16bit
Close Audio MIDI Setup
or
Open and close GarageBand

After upgraded to version 5 few things missing..

Hi,
I am using blackberry curve 8520.. I have been using this for almost a year already. I noticed, there are few things missing and some problems occurred when I upgraded to version 5. Eg. Memopad, No column in option for alarm tones, my BB getting slower during browsing, everytime I try to connect to wi-fi, it will be intermittent or not connected.
For unable to connect to wifi, I suspected it is browser issue but then I set to default setting it is still the same.
Can somebody help me to rectify this please?

Memopad: 1. On your homescreen, press the Menu key > SHOW ALL, so that SHOW ALL is checked.
2. Look in EACH folder on your device... Applications, Instant Messengers, Downloads, etc.
If you still don't see it, look at Options > Advanced > Applications. Do you see it listed there?
If still can't be found, read this link.

i don't know about your WiFi issue, you would also need to elaborate your problem.
To prevent freezing or lagging/slow response on any BlackBerry, the most important practice you can adopt is to be sure to CLOSE applications when you are finished using them.
If you just hit the red "end call" key to go back to the home screen the application actually stays open and running in the background. If you do this repeatedly you will have lots of apps open and consequently your memory will get used up. Lack of memory is the biggest reason your BlackBerry slows to a crawl or locks up. If you get into the habit of actually using the menu key to close the applications this will at least slow down this memory-clogging process. You still may have to do a battery pull or use the "Quickpull" app once in a while when things get slow.
To check what applications are running on your device in the background, press the Menu key then choose Switch Applications. You will see the icons of each application there.
So now, check your applications running in the background. There are commonly four or five applications that will always be running (Messages, Call Logs/Phone, BlackBerry Messenger, Homescreen, and the Browser; there are other third party applications such as BeeJive, and BlackBerry Alerts which will also run in the background which you cannot close if you want them to operate). Make certain that the browser is NOT on an active webpage (open the browser and choose Menu > Close). Close any other applications that do not need to be running (the camera or a game you were playing or Google Maps).

First few seconds of sound missing with Bluetooth

I've been struggling with this issue for some time now, and haven't found any explanation. The issue is that if I am using turn-by-turn navigation software (that speaks directions) while my iPhone 4 is connected to a Bluetooth device, and the software hasn't given me directions for a minute or so, the connection seems to "go to sleep." When the next directions are issued, I miss the first part. For example, if the directions should have said "Get ready to turn left at Main Street," all I might hear is "at Main Street." Quite unhelpful!
Some details: I have tried two different navigation programs. I used MapQuest's free app for a while, and now am using the VZ Navigator app. Both had the same issue. I have also tried three different Bluetooth devices: a Plantronics Voyager headset, a Jabra headset and my car's Bluetooth speakerphone. All show the same behavior. Also, if I'm playing music through Bluetooth in my car, the problem goes away completely.
My conclusion is that the iPhone 4 is letting the connection with the Bluetooth device lapse when not in active use for some length of time, and it takes a few seconds to re-establish it. But that doesn't lead me to a solution. Anyone else experience this, and know of a fix for the problem? Is there any way to keep the connection alive without playing music, which I would obviously prefer not to do with a headset!

That's the way it works, & your conclusion is correct. There is no solution, unfortunately, other than not use Bluetooth for this.

Why do some of my songs have sound missing when on bluetooth?

It doesn't happen to every song, but when I use my iPhone in my car it seems to be missing certain instruments, most notably on tracks that go from left to right. Instead of having it in both channels it is eliminating one of the instruments, usually on the left channel. This does not happen if it is plugged into a pair on headphones, only on the Bluetooth. Everything was fine until I started using iTunes Match, it does it on matched songs that were redownloaded to the iPhone. It is crazy annoying because it sounds like a bad demo version, that is in some songs literally sounding like half of a song.
Facts:
iPhone 4s 64GB
2012 VW Passat
Yes iTunes match is used and the songs have been downloaded to the iPhone locally
Yes I have unpaired the Bluetooth and deleted it from the car and iPhone just in case

It looks like sound from the left channel isn't working on that headunit, the thread has a few ways you can avoid the problem.
You'll probably have to wait for an update to iOS or your VW's stereo.

Sound missing from half of One Step DVD

I have tried a couple times to make a one step DVD directly from my mini DV tape camera. I've done this plenty before and do not know why, but this time the sound is missing from the last half of the DVD. It is on the tape, but not the DVD.

1 Imported audio from iTunes.
• In iTunes copy out as an audio-CD .aiff
• Use this in Your movie project
2 Strange audio formats like .mp3, .avi etc.
• Change them to .aiff. Use an audio editor like Audacity (free)
3 Main audio is set to off in System Preferences - Does this by it self - Don’t know why

Had the same problem; some Googling around gave me a kludgy, but effective fix
Downgrade Perian from recent versions back to version 1.0.
That worked for me, and so far I haven't encountered any deficiencies—except it takes more advanced versions of Perian to enable QuickTime to handle subtitles in .srt format—that I have noticed.
Before burning the DVD.
• Do a DiskImage (File menu and down)
• Double click on the .img file
• Test it with Apple DVD-player
If it’s OK then make Your DVD.
Burn at x1 speed.... (or x4)
• In iDVD 08 - or - 09
• Burn from DiskImage with Apple Disk Util tool
• OR burn with Roxio Toast™ if You got it

Sony Cybershot T100 sound missing in iphoto

got my sony T100, when downloading a video into iphoto the sound track is missing. sony customerservice tells me that apple will supply me with a codex for mpg vx, apple has no idea how to solve the problem. can anyone help, please?

Javax.sound missing with Fedora Core 3 linux's java compiler?

I'm running Fedora core 3, and I did a complete install(selected all the packeges). I have the java compiler that FC3 installed. I can compile most things, but I seem to be missing the sound package/folder.
This leads to an error when I try to import the sound libraries.

results in the error "The import javax.sound cannot be resolved"
I am trying to run a code snippet from javaAlmanac, and of course it won't work. Today, a friend of mine had the exact same problem on a windows machine using JDK 1.5.
I'm going to test this code out on a windows machine also.
Are there issues with the FC3 java compiler?
Has anyone else run into and solved this issue?
I'm considering copying the sound folder from some other Java installation, anyone try this?

I'm pretty new at this myself. I've also installed Fedora Core 3 on an AMD 64. When I do the same uname - a I get:

Maybe you didn't install as 64 bit ?
I've also successfully installed Jave Runtime Environment. java -version gets me:

Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_08-b03, mixed mode)
I'd suggest installing 32 bit. I can't tell the difference when I run programmes that use 64 or 32 bits - it will be just as good.

Few data missing from CTX file, need source for CTX file

We are using ACH-CTX via Payment Medium Workbench (PMW) and not Via RFFOUS_T program.
The CTX file is generating and now the issue here is few data is missing for some ADDENDA records. But for some ADDENDA lines the data is perfect. Could anyone help me out where exactly the mapping is done for generating CTX File and where the data is coming for this CTX file. As per technical consultant the Event 30- FM: FI_PAYMEDIUM_ACH_30 is appending the ADDENDA record. But where exactly the values are coming from for these FM or for the CTX File. Please revert ASAP.

Some sounds missing in Windows 8.1

Hi...Some months ago, I downloaded an update for IDT High def codecs via Windows Update in Windows 8. . Soon thereafter, I noticed that some sounds in some games were missing. I rolled back the drivers and the sounds were working again. Now with Windows 8.1 these sounds are missing again because 8.1 comes standard with the updated drivers. I would like to install the previous drivers but don't know where to find them. Or, if there is a workaround, i would sure appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extension) like Adblock Plus or NoScript or Flash Block that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Sounds missing

The problem I ran into is that when I try to load an instrument (nothing particularly) Logic just can't find the sound files needed to open the instrument.It happened so with some Garageband songs as well which I wanted to open in Logic but some instruments where missing because of this issue.
Any ideas?

Sound Miss Match

Hi All,
Trying to work out a fix and a reason why the sound track somehow gets misaligned with the footage track, very frustrating when I have been working on a project for a few hours and then when I have clip of someone talking the sound is all out of whack..

Hi Steve, Sorry it has taken me a while to get back to you, I gave up on the project I was working on and have now started a new project and once again I have encountered the same problem.
It appears that the sound is out like your 1st point changing positions on the time line, the clip is a avi file. It played fine on my PC using Media player but on Premier Elements it is out by around a second..
Will it work when the project is burnt to disk..??

Lumia 925 Cyan: All alarm sounds missing

Hi,
has anyone else yet counter a problem with missing sounds? Case: Alarm clock didn't woke me this morning. When I checked the phone I noticed that there was no sound from alarm clock, notification or from any other. Adjusted the sound to maximum, no help.
Battery life was running almost out and when I plugged device to charger all sounds came back.
So, be noticed that if you have important meeting in the morning that the device is plugged into charger or it might not sound an alarm to you

Organ and keyboard sounds missing

I have just installed ogic pro on my imac. Everything works fine, but most organ - and some keyboard sounds are not there, it seems they have not been installed.
Shall I install everything again?

I'm not a MIDI expert but I've seen this and I have a fix. Perhaps somebody else can explain why it does this and maybe even a better fix.
I experience this problem often (and mostly with organs) when I import MIDI files. The problem seems to be related to the MIDI channel for the notes. You need to change the MIDI channel of the notes before you can hear them.
I change the MIDI channels often enough that I have added a keyboard shortcut to do this. Here is what you do:
Go to the menu at the top of your screen and select "Logic Pro->Preferences->Key Commands..." A floating "Key Commands" window will appear. Open the "Arrange and Various Editors" section. About 3/4 of the way down, you will find two items called "Event Channel +1" and "Event Channel -1". These are the commands needed to change the MIDI channel on the notes. We will assign
these commands to certain keys so they are readily available. I set "Event Channel +1" to Command-Option-UpArrow. I set "Event Channel -1" to Command-Option-DownArrow. To set these, select one and click on the "Learn by Key Position" button. Then, press the key combination. It should be learned. After you set both key combinations, close the "Key Commands" window.
Now, you can fix your sounds. Go select one (or all) of the notes that you cannot hear and change its event channel (usually you have to go down). Use the "Event Channel -1" key combination (Command-Option-DownArrow). After you go down a few steps, you will start to hear the note(s).
