A generic request to coders to indentify their error notifications

Question

This from an old non-coder, who used to jump into RedEdit with pleasure, and loed the total control it allowed to the user experience.
(Hmmm: judging by the fonts and default sizes available at this discussion site, it looks like the Windows putsch has taken over completely!

OK: I've just had a series of advisories on startup, which appeared to have no identification.
I did finally track down the app's icon, which *was shown in the advisories, but only in retrospect after it took me the long time (days) to identify the advisory source, which in turn was only done from nutting out the now_not_self_evident_code and working through (in this case) which app's were likely to be interrogating the net on wake-up. (Where to start?)
This weeks long waste of my time would have been deal-able within minutes if the coder had included, in an non-intrusive micro-font across the bottom of 'their' default advisory window(s), the name of this specific app, it's version, and the name of the company/ proprietary name that they sell or distribute under.

*You know what your stuff does, please don’t presume we ‘others’ do, and a lot of us don’t have constant ‘net access, or even a phone line to support -- think bushies, yachties, etc. Try to make your stuff free-standing in the real world, if possible, and if the real world isn’t cooperating, try to return sensible real-world ideas, as *well as *your real error message.
