This is really annoying me and I'd love a way to stop this happening, I've tried deleting and re-downloading the app and that hasn't worked

Your friend can get a new Apple Id for themselves, and create a different account on one of the laptops. Then put all their music in a separate iTunes library, and sync the phone to that particular library.
This will keep there music separate from your library and their brother's library.
Just make another User on your computer for your friend to store their music in.

Are you sure you have an iPod Shuffle and not an iPod Touch?

Is it illegal to let my friend use the software i purchased on my computer?

I'm paying my friend to do some video editing and she said she wanted to try and use final cut pro x for it. So i was thinking of buying the software and install it on my imac and let her use it. She doesn't own an imac or macbook so i'll just let her use mine. The thing is if you go through terms of usage, usually there is a line saying we can't lend the product to other people. So if i let my friend use it on my computer, does that count as lending that is illegal? Or does that count as ok?

Software EULA's do prohibit the lending of software, as in giving the installation file/disc to someone to "temporarily" or otherwise install it on another machine. I've never seen one that says anything about just whom may use the legally installed copy on any given machine. It is still one copy installed, on one machine, and under the control of the licensee, so unless FCPro has adopted some wholly unprecidented software license terms, I'd say you are fine.
Usually the license allows the purchaser to install one working copy on one machine - nothing limits who may use that machine and it's legally installed software. Unless you sell the machine with the software included, then you are effectively transfering ownership of the software to the new owner of the machine (and should thus include any installation media and documentation that came with your original license purchase).

I keep saying this over and over, in the hope that people who do a search will find it. Apple cannot possibly test for or be reponsible for the bazillion combinations of adapter, cables, and TV's out there. The only monitors that are 100% guaranteed to work with the MacBook Pro are the Cinema Displays and Thunderbolt Displays, because, they're made by Apple. They're expensive, but they work perfectly.
My guess is that you bought a cheap MDP to HDMI cable, or have a defective one. From my reading of these boards over the past few months, cheap cables have a high failure rate. And the regular priced ones have only a slightly less of one. Try a new one. Make sure you do not damage the Thunderbolt port.

I think I found the reason. On my iMac that is hosting the music library a song already was playing. This seems to block out me from selecting another song though my Apple TV.

You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first.

Hold down the option key while starting iTunes and make an new library. Will it open then? If so, you have a bad library. With the new library import the library.xml version of the file in your iTunes folder. This will make it 90% like before (some metadata are not identical, but I don't know which ones).
