A/R Invoice Data Transfer

Hi Experts,
I am importing A/R Invoice Transactions from Legacy System (SQL Server) to B1.It got an error while importing one of the invoices .
"Set either the installment percentage or installment total" ; though no clue was found  in this regard.
I tried to enter the same invoice from frontend but no such error was observed there and record was successfully saved.
Here Iam not getting what could be the problem in data transfer where the same transaction gets saved from frontend...
Plz guide me to resolve this issue with ur clues and help.

If only one invoice has problem to upload, you could DTW the others and manual input this one.
Thanks,
Gordon

  • Data Transfer Workbench Slow on Large Imports

I am using version 6.5.11 of the workbench, API version 6.50.53
I have a problem with the speed of imports where the file sizes become large. e.g. I am importing sales invoices using a header file and line items file. Both are tab-delimited text files. If I import 2000 invoices, it takes around 1.8 seconds per invoice. If I import 10000 invoices, it takes around 18 seconds per invoice (50 hours). I actually wanted to import around 30000 invoices, but that was taking a minute per invoice.
Another problem is that the first data line after the header line in every import file is ignored and not processed.
Does anyone know if these have been fixed or will be fixed soon?

To import a large amount of items or invoices with the Data Transfer Workbench, I always shrink the file into x files with 1000 records. That's the only to have a fast process.
Apparently this problem is correctedwith 2004 which is much faster. I haven't tested yet the DTW with 2004 as I just received it.
For the bug you have with the line, it occured to me one time too but not anymore and I can't work out why it did that. Maybe, it could be more efficient for you to create message on the marketplace.

  • Import GL opening balance,AR and AP aging with each open invoice data

We tried to use Data Transfer Workbench to import GL opening balance back to 2007 year end but got an error "can not post to Control Account".
In Admin>Sys Init> Opening Balances> GL opening, Businesss Partner, 1099 opening balance can import all opening balance with AR, AP. But, can not import for each open invoice amount, invoice number, invoice date information.
If we entered those GL, AR, AP opening balance those won't affect the GL F/S, right?
We will need to close year 2007 then import each period Trial Balance Debit and Credit amount for each account then close each period to have all 2008 each account period data until May 2009.
Would like to know which is the best way to do this?

    Hi,
Please, use oInvoice and oPurchaseInvoice templates (as service type and offset account is opening balance account) to import opening balance. This don't affect to inventory, P/L account.
    Hope this helps,
    Son.

  • Error importing Incoming Payments using the Data Transfer Workbench

Every time I try to import Incoming Payments using the Data Transfer Workbench I get an error that the Update Failed - Can not find this object in B1Application-defined or object-defined error65171. I'm using the 3 templates for Payments, Payments_Checks and Payments_Invoices. I've filled them out as I've seen in other postings in this forum. Based on the error message, I really can't tell what I'm doing wrong. Could someone please take a look at my files and let me know what might be causing the error?
I'm using SBO 2007A PL41. Here's what I have entered in my templates for my test file.

    Thank you.

    Hi Suda,
As far as I can tell from the threads you forwarded (and other searches I've done on here), my files are correct. I tried filling out the templates exactly as explained in the first link (see my data below) but it still isn't working. It just gives me the same generic error.
    Payments
    Record Key....CardCode.....DocDate
    1...................1033985.......20081217
    Payments_Checks
    RecordKey....CheckAccount........CheckNumber....CheckSum

    Payments_Invoices
    RecordKey....DocEntry.....SumApplied
    1..................31791..........78.7
Is it correct that the Payments file should not contain anything in the DocEntry column? (I know that the DocEntry in my Invoices file is the DocEntry of the Invoice). I have a feeling that I'm making a stupid mistake somewhere but I just can't figure it out. Any ideas?
I really appreciate your help with this.

What should i do to resolve this error.
    Thanks and regards
    Rohan

    Hi Rohan,
Document number is usually not the same as your DocEntry.  Run a simple query to find it out:
    SELECT T0.DocEntry FROM OINV T0 WHERE T0.DOcNum = '[%0\]'
Also the Date format should be YYYYMMDD.
    Thanks,

  • Avoid users to upload especific document via data transfer DTW

    Dear Experts,
Anyone know how to avoid users uploading especific documents via DTW (Data Transfer WorkBench), for example giving them authorization to upload User Defined tables via DTW, but avoiding them to upload Purchase Invoices, due to an Approval template for Purchase Invoices.
Hope you'll be able to help me.
    Best Regards,

That would be too hard to do even if it is possible.
My suggest is:  if you give your user the power for DTW, train them fully.  Let them know what they can or can not do.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • How to enable delta without data transfer option for Collections - Extracts

    Hi All,
My question is basically related to FSCM - Collections related data sources and Init and Delta loads of the same.
Once the Init is completed, I wanted to do delta without data transfer and option is graded out - means can not really select the option for Collections Data Sources ..
For Example I have OCLM_INVOICE as my data source which has lot of data to extract - and in the Init stage itself, its either giving errors or keeps running for longer time (Records to be extracted is ONLY 400000) and finally shows in the monitor as 400000 of 0 Records..
And also Is there any place where I can find that all of Collection data sources are TIME STAMP based or other options.
I appreciate your quick an ddetails reply and points will be awarded for sure.
    Thanks
    AK.

As far as I remember there some datasources which wont support init w/o data transfer. I guess COPA is one of them. I havent worked on datasource 0CLM_INVOICE but it is possible that even this could be same case. When I seached on help.sap.com for this datasource, I found this info -
(I am pasting content because strangely the webpage doesnt give html link for this search result window)
    DataSource Transactional Data: 0CLM_INVOICE
This DataSource is used to extract the transaction data of an invoice from Accounts Receivable Accounting (FI-AR). The system determines the key figures from the amounts of the line items belonging to the invoice. The date fields each contain the respective date of an action that refers to a line item. The extractor provides the data in optimized form for SAP Collections Management.
    Technical Data
    Application Components Collections Management (0FSCM-CLM)
Available as of Release mySAP ERP Value Pack 2005.1
    Shipment SAP NetWeaver 2004s BI Content Add-On 3 SP02
Content Versions There are no content versions.
    RemoteCube-Capable No
    Delta-Capable Yes
    Extraction from Archives No
    Verifiable Yes
    Data Modeling
    Delta Update
The DataSource permits delta update with generic delta processing using the time stamp. The system determines the invoice reference for a document in Business Transaction Event (BTE) 5010 and saves it with a time stamp. In the case of a delta upload, it determines the amounts of the line items based on these document numbers.
    Extractor Logic
    Verification of Key Figures
If necessary, you can check the key figures of the individual customers as follows:
In the source system, from the SAP Easy Access screen, choose the following function: Accounting  u2192 Financial Supply Chain Management u2192 Collections Management u2192 Integration with Accounts Receivable Accounting  u2192 Process Receivables (Old).
    Enter the required customer.
The Customer Account - Process Receivables screen appears. Here you see a list of all invoices for which there are open receivables.
Using this list, you can compare the following key figures:
Original Amount of Invoice or Credit Memo (INVOICE_AMOUNT)
    Amount Paid (PAID_AMOUNT)
    Open Amount (OPEN_AMOUNT)
Total of All Credit Memos for Selected Invoice (CREDITED_AMOUNT)
    Amount Arranged for Payment (PAYMENT_ARRANGED)
Unsychronized Backup Recovery in BW System
If you import backup copies asynchronously, you have to initialize the delta procedure for the DataSource again.

  • Data transfer legacy

    dear all
Can eny one tell me about data transfer legacy?
How are modules interagted and what are means of data transfer for intra module.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
You would use LSMW to upload master data and either BDC/BAPI for uploading transaction data.
    Visit the following link:
    Re: sap general
Where you would find more information about BDC and LSMW.
For information regarding LSMW steps visit the following link:
    /people/hema.rao/blog/2006/09/14/lsmw--step-by-step
    http://help.sap.com/bp_blv1500/BL_US/html/dataconv_lsmw.htm
The SAP System consists of a number of components that are completely integrated with one another. This integration allows the various departments and units of an enterprise to share and maintain the same information.
Purchasing is a component of Materials Management (MM). The Materials Management (MM) module is fully integrated with the other modules of the SAP System. It supports all the phases of materials management: materials planning and control, purchasing, goods receiving, inventory management, and invoice verification.
The tasks of the MM Purchasing component are as follows:
External procurement of materials and services
Determination of possible sources of supply for a requirement identified by the materials planning and control system or arising directly within a user department
Monitoring of deliveries from and payments to vendors
Good communication between all participants in the procurement process is necessary for Purchasing to function smoothly.
    <b>Integration</b>
Purchasing communicates with other modules in the SAP System to ensure a constant flow of information. For example, it works side by side with the following modules:
        Controlling (CO)
The interface to the cost accounting system (Controlling) can be seen above all in the case of purchase orders for materials intended for direct consumption and for services, since these can be directly assigned to a cost center or a production order.
        Financial Accounting (FI)
Purchasing maintains data on the vendors that are defined in the system jointly with Financial Accounting. Information on each vendor is stored in a vendor master record, which contains both accounting and procurement information. The vendor master record represents the creditor account in financial accounting.
Through PO account assignment, Purchasing can also specify which G/L accounts are to be charged in the financial accounting system.
        Sales and Distribution (SD)
Within the framework of materials planning and control, a requirement that has arisen in the Sales area can be passed on to Purchasing. In addition, when a requisition is created, it can be directly assigned to a sales order.
