A sample web service to return SOAP fault message for application error

I need to test behavior of XI, in case of application error (using <detail> tag in soap:fault) from web service in nosoap mode.
If any one is aware of a free web service, which can raise application soap fault message, Kindly provide the details.

What is the URL to which you are posting the SOAP message?
Is it?
http://<host>:<j2ee-port>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet? channel=<party>:<service>:<channel>
If yes, then like mentioned the QOS is picked from the Sender SOAP adapter.
But, if the URL is ,
http://<server>:<ABAP-port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry&version=3.0&Sender.Service=<YourService>&Interface=<YourNamespace>%5E<YourInterface>
Then you need to give the QOS as <b>,&QualityOfService=ExactlyOnce</b> appended to the above URL.

Can anyone help me regarding the feasibility of using PDF forms for my following case?
I would like to create a Dynamic pdf form. User only have the Acrobat reader. they can enter some information. Then have a submit button. when user click the submit button, it can call the web service with data. then Web service returns a Static PDF document based on data and the user can print it out. (and maybe save as separate pdf file)

Srini: We have developed a Servlet to talk to Webservice. Based on the Webservice response, the Servlet, prepares the Byte stream and sends it to Webbrowser to display as a PDF. The PDF data was submitted to Servlet in XML format.
But if you do not want to use the above approach, then you have to use the Workbench Process.
Submit the PDF data to a Workbench process and the inside process, execute Webservice Service with the data. Once the response is received, prepare the data XML and render a PDF with it.
To do this, you need LiveCycle Server and Reader Extensions server component.
2. As I understand I need to have Live Cycle Designer to create a pdf and make it Reader Enabled. So user can user reader to call webservice? am I correct?
Srini: If you want to use the Servlet, you can Reader extend the PDF with Acrobat.. But if you want to submit the data directly to Webservice, then you need Reader Extensions server component.

SOAP Fault Problem for WAS 6.20 System

Hi,
We are exposing some RFC enabled ABAP function modules as web services in a WAS 6.20 system.
We are trying to have all consumers of our web services use the SOAP faults to handle errors.
It works great when we raise exceptions from the function module.
However, we are having an issue when an ABAP dump occurs. It sets the SOAP fault properly,
but the XML return has extra data at the end that is causing our .NET developers problems when
trying to handle the SOAP fault.

The HTML data at the end is causing the problems for our .NET guys.
We have a 6.40 system in development for roll out sometime next year and we don't have this
problem on that system. However, since we are exposing web services on our 6.20 system, we'd
like to get our standards in place now, so that our consumers won't have to change after
the upgrade.
Any information on how to turn off this extra data on a 6.20 system would be appreciated.

SOAP 1.2 is not supported, neither in WebAS 6.20 nor in 6.40 as far as I know support is not planed even for next magor release...
The only what I can propose you is to create an OSS and check what shall SAP answer you,
or to downport your applicaiton.

ABAP Web Services Exception Valorization in SOAP Fault Message

Hi,
I created a Custom Function Module in ABAP with a custom exception ( "Exception1) in exception list (including a short text description of the exception ("This is the first exception!!!")).
I exposed it as web services by means of 'Web service ABAP creation wizard".
I hard coded the raising of the exception in order to see the valorization of SOAP Fault Message.
The problem is that the field "Text" in SOAP fault message is empty instead of "This is the first exception!!!".
Can you help me?

Problem with web service that returns an object with a String that have som

I have a problem with a web service I am doing, I have made a web service that returns a collection of objects, the objects have a set of properties, there is one property that is a String,this property consists in a text fragment that could have some characters that are considered special in XML like &, <, >, " and that's why when I execute the service from a client an exception is thrown:

Hi,
BPEL and BPEL PM do not have a good support for SOAPENC-Array: it would be very difficult to create such an array in BPEL or to receive it and manipulate it.
The (unfortunately very intrusive) work around is to change the WSDL of the service to use a XML type defined using XML schema. This is all the more painful that JDev 9.0.4 does not have strong support for complex types.
In general though, I would highly recommend this best practice:
1) Start by define the WSDL contract first
2) Then generate the server side skeleton to implement it
3) Use BPEL as the client to this contract.
By starting with the contract first, you make sure that 1) your interfaces are clean and coarse grained.
2) things like java objects, sessions, etc to not leak through the interface (which would be the worst thing that could happen because it would closely link the client and the server.
Sorry for not being more helpful. This will get radically cleaner in Oracle AS 10.1.3.

No "advantage" as there are two very different tools.
UTL_HTTP is basically an Oracle PL/SQL web browser. It uses the HTTP application protocol. It is just like your ordinary browser (IE, Firefox, Opera), but as it is server-side and display-less, it comes without a rendering engine.
UTL_DBWS is to interact with web services using the SOAP application protocol.

BPEL build error when invoke an extrenal Web Service that returns an Array

I built with JDeveloper a web service that returns an Array of Java Bean classes and I try to invoke this web service from a BPEL process. The wsdl file is automatically generated by the JDev. When I built the BPEl project I obtained the following error:

SQL Server 2008 Reporting Project - Invoke/Consume Web Service and Return Dataset in C# Code-Behind

Hello,
I have a Visual Studio 2010 C# class with a method that invokes/consumes a web service and returns an XML dataset. I am traversing through the parent/child nodes and parsing out the data then inserting it into a SQL Server 2008 R2 table for a join within
another stored procedure.
Instead of using a 3rd party API to generate the PDF for this data, I am creating an SSRS report. The formatting will be easier and I can do a RenderFormat directly to PDF.
Can I expect to be able to transfer the code-behind method to this report and have it be able to work with the web service the same way? It is a SOAP-based web service returning parent nodes and two levels of nested child nodes.
I have also been researching the approach of calling the web service in the same stored procedure that is currently querying the physical tables (which is used to populate a gridview and PDF) but it looks like it may only be possible with a CLR stored procedure.
Is it possible to implement a CLR stored procedure within an SSRS report?
Hope this makes sense. Any help, suggestion or point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

SSRS supports web service data source, we can call the SOAP-based web service in SSRS report directly. Then, we can use custom code in SSRS to parse the XML data. However, we won’t be able to join another data in SQL Server database.

We cannot implement a CLR stored procedure within an SSRS report directly. In order to execute the CLR store procedure in a SSRS report, we have to execute it as text using the following code:

How configure a primavera web service to return data from the second database?

We have P6 with first WS deployed on a single server weblogic domain. The first WS return data from the first database instance.
Then deployed advanced second WS on a separate weblogic domain server with a different port. Configured second WS with <WS2_INSTALL_HOME>/bin/dbconfig.sh, creating a new branch of a configuration that specifies a different second instance of the database. However, this configuration is ignored and second web services return data from the first database.
We have one domain, which including next servers:

P6 / localhost / 0001 / P6(v8.3), p6ws1(v8.3)
p6ws2 / localhost / 0002 / p6ws2(v8.3)

OK, so I got this to work this morning with Username Token Profile (with little help from Oracle Support).
I followed your steps 1-4 but in step 2 I didn't add the -Ddatabase.instance=2 because I want to check to see if my code could swap between different instances.
It appears for Username Token Profile to use Database Instance, you need to set it in the soap header.
So my soap request looks like this:

Web Service posting via SOAP.request - Security settings prevent access...

I'm trying to call a web service via the SOAP.request object in javascript embedded into my Interactive Form. I've successfully done this with SAP NetWeaver 7.0 trial version however now I'm having this issue on a production setup. The PDF generates fine and I can fill out the form and everything. I checked the properties of both PDF documents (one that works from the trial and one that doesn't from the prod box) and they are the same, expect the one that works is PDF Version 1.6, and the one that doesn't is PDF Version 1.7.

PDF Version 1.6 means Adobe Reader 7.0.x family and PDF version 1.7 means Adobe Reader 8.0.x or 9.0.x if I am not wrong.
Also if you check LiveCycle Designer Help (Using LiveCycle Designer ES > Working with Data Sources > About data sources > Working with data connections) it clearly says that with LiveCycle Designer 8.0 secured web services are not supported and there are additional security settings for Reader 8.0 onwards, that may be causing the issue.

Web service response contains SOAP Headers with "mustUnderstand" true

I have a requirement where in I have to consume a web service as adaptive web service model, and while executing the service pass a mandatory parameter to the soap header. We are able to set the mandatory parameter to the soad header. We got the code snippet to do this from a wiki link

On executing the service now through web dynpro we are getting the below error
"Web service response contains SOAP Headers with "mustUnderstand" true which are not handled by the client runtime"
Any thoughts on how to handle this mustUnderstand attribute with some code snippet? Appreciate all help.

Web service connection problem via web service data control (SOAP/REST)

I developed a simple "hello word" web service that I deployed on Integrated WLS.
Web service works fine - I tested it from SoapUI.
I created another application to call "hello word" using "web service data control (SOAP/REST)" in JDeveloper.
When I test it via "Oracle ADF Model Tester" application works as I'm expecting, but when I create JSPX page,
drag and drop webservice method as ADF parameter form and run it receive notification (screenshot):

What I'm doing wrong?
Why I'm able to access web service from any other application but not from jdeveloper?

Hi,
I am not sure which JDev you are using, but looks like you have some policies setup for WSDC using GPA (global policy attachment) and your policy manager(wsm-pm) is not running. Can you check if the wsm-pm application is properly deployed in your Integrated WLS. You can see this from the list of deployed apps in WLS console.

Returning SOAP Faults

Hello Folks,
I have a few questions on SOAP Faults.
When would one return a SOAP fault ? ( Say when validation fails or when the data is determined to be incorrect )
Potentially, one could embed all this information in a response message too.
How have you normally implemented SOAP faults ?
And are returning SOAP fault and response mutually exclusive ? I would think so. But a confirmation will be appreciated!

Web service to return all employees

Hi I am new to PeopleSoft but have managed to get the OVM template up and running now in virtual box and have the web services working again CI_CI_PERSONAL_DATA. This returns data for a single employee. How would I go about creating a web service to return all employee data in one response so that we and sync firstname, lastname etc with an external system?
