  • Search script generator for all objects and data (!) from a user/schema ?

    Is there a way to create a script which (when run) creates all the existing
    TABLES; INDEXES, KEYS and DATA for a specified user/schema ?
    This (PL-)SQL script should contain all INSERTS for the currently existing rows of
    all the TABLEs.
    When I use e.g. export to Dumpfile I have at first find all TABLEs and components
    which I want to dump. This is rather uncomfortable.
    I just want to specify the user name similar to
    createscript user=karl@XE outfile=D:\mydata\myscript.sql
    Is this somehow possible ?

    So that I understand your requirements exactly, are you asking for your script to ...
    1/ export from database A the entire schema of a specified user
    2/ drop all objects owned by that user in database B
    3/ import the objects from database A into database B
    If so, it sounds to me that a shell script that does a schema level export as Nicholas suggested, and then drops the user from database B using the cascade keyword (e.g. drop user username cascade), recreates the user and then imports the export file into B should do the trick.
    I don't think searching for individual tables and creating the statements to recreate them is the best idea.
    Hope that helps

    Running a mix of Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) and Ubuntu 12.04 (32-bit). When a new user is created and logs in on either platform, I need that user to get a profile with a standard, predefined home page and set of bookmarks.

    Use a .cfg lock file and the Client Customisation Kit addon.

  • Alter user default tablespace and temporary tablespace

    Hi guru,
    target : to ensure that users don't have the SYSTEM tablespace as their TEMPORARY or DEFAULT tablespace
    scenario :
    user default tablespace temporary tablespace
    xxyym system system
    Question: How to alter user ?
    tq

    In a scenario, let's say you want to make USERS the default tablespace for existing users and TEMP the default temporary tablespace, you can also create the alter statements as below into one script based on the output and run it.
    select 'ALTER USER '||username||' DEFAULT TABLESPACE USERS;'  FROM DBA_USERS WHERE DEFAULT_TABLESPACE IN('SYSTEM')
    and username not in('SYS','SYSTEM');
    select 'ALTER USER '||username||' TEMPORARY TABLESPACE TEMP;'  FROM DBA_USERS WHERE TEMPORARY_TABLESPACE IN('SYSTEM');As magnus mentioned, don't forget to do this(if USERS and TEMP is what you want to go with) :
    ALTER DATABASE DEFAULT TABLESPACE USERS;
    ALTER DATABASE DEFAULT TEMPORARY TABLESPACE TEMP;

    Hi Ruben,
    I'm an Ora admin working under NT.
    Use oracle server manager to create datafiles & tablespaces.
    You can find the executable file name for oracle server manager
    (svrmgr??.exe for NT) under BIN irectory of ORACLE HOME.

  • Create User Stamp and Update User Stamp

    Hello
    Is there a way to track the User ID who creates a record and also track the last User ID to update the same record?  The only field type is USER STAMP so I do not see a way to track both users.  When I choose USER STAMP, the Writable Once options is grayed out and changed to No.
    Create User ID = 123.  This ID should coordinate with the CREAT STAMP data and time
    Last Update User ID = 789.  This ID should coordinate with the TIME STAMP data and time
    thanks
    Tammi

    Hi Tammi,
    Change Tracking is definitely a best solution to track the changes, no doubt about that. but the problem with chnage tracking is that it requires lot of memory and it hampers the performance of MDM server.
    So, if your requirement is only to know the user who created the record and the last user who changed the record; then there can be a workaround which will definitely solve your problem.
    Try these steps:
    1. First create two fields in the repository say Created By and Last Updated By. First field will be of type Text and second field will be of type User Stamp.
    2. Now in Data Manager, create an assignment which will assign the value of Last Updated By to Created By.
    3. Now create a workflow which will trigger, everytime new record gets added into repository and call this assignment in that workflow.
    4. So everytime you create a record, user Id of creator will gets stored in Created By field and next time when you update the same record that user ID will gets stored in Last Updated by field.
    This should work. Please let us know if problem still persists.

  • VB Script to accept PC names in text file and get registry key value out of those systems

    Hi All,
    My task: Create VB script to accept PC names from a text file, process each host name to get Registry key value of individual host name and finally export them to a text file or an excel sheet having registry key value against each pc.
    I want to pull key value of LSFORCEHOST located in HKCU/Environment of each PC and export this value against each pc in a text or Excel file.
    What I achieved: I am able to process against single pc name but failed to process 3000+ systems listed in a text file which I tried to process through VB script. I am not pro and learning the VBS and cant write complex code.
    My VBS code written so far(It failed many time with issue):
     Option Explicit
     Const HKEY_CURRENT_USER = &H80000001
     Dim oFSO, sFile, oFile, sText, strComputer,oReg, strKeyPath, strValueName, strValue, objFSO, objFile, strContents
     Set oFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
     sFile = "test.txt"
     If oFSO.FileExists(sFile) Then
      Set oFile = oFSO.OpenTextFile(sFile, 1)
       Do While Not oFile.AtEndOfStream
        sText = oFile.ReadLine
         If Trim(sText) <> "" Then
    strComputer = sText
    Set oReg=GetObject("winmgmts:{impersonationLevel=impersonate}!\\" & _
        strComputer & "\root\default:StdRegProv")
    strKeyPath = "Environment"
    strValueName = "LSFORCEHOST"
    oReg.GetStringValue HKEY_CURRENT_USER,strKeyPath,strValueName,strValue
    Const ForReading = 1
    Const ForWriting = 2
    Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
    Set objFile = objFSO.OpenTextFile("C:\destination.txt",1, ForReading)
    strContents = strValue
    Set objFile = objFSO.OpenTextFile("C:\destination.txt",2, ForWriting)
    objFile.Write strContents
    objFile.Close
    End If
    Loop
    oFile.Close
    End If
    I think when I tried to process each PC name from text file against registry key value, above code not working. As per my knowledge some issue in loop. Do I need to add FOR EACH feature?
    Please help to correct it. Thanks in advance.

    Your code contains numerous errors. Furthermore you make things difficult for yourself by giving similar names to the objects used for your input and output. If you are a systems administrator then your best bet is to make an effort to learn the language
    instead of grabbing a few code fragments from here and there and hoping that somehow they will work.
    Try the cleaned up code below for this particular project. Note the consistent code indentation. It helps you enormously when trying to understand the structure of the code. Remember also that you must fully qualify all file paths. Writing to "Destination.txt"
    will cause endless confusion because you never know for sure where this file will reside.
     Const HKEY_CURRENT_USER = &H80000001
     Set oFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
     sKeyPath = "Environment"
     sValueName = "LSFORCEHOST"
     sFile = "D:\Test.txt"
     If oFSO.FileExists(sFile) Then
       Set oInput = oFSO.OpenTextFile(sFile, 1)
       Do While Not oInput.AtEndOfStream
         sComputer = oInput.ReadLine
         If Trim(sComputer) <> "" Then
           Set oReg=GetObject("winmgmts:{impersonationLevel=impersonate}!\\" _

           Set oOutput = oFSO.OpenTextFile("D:\destination.txt",8, True)
           oOutput.WriteLine sValue

  • Scripts on tablespaces and good documents for tablespaces

    i required real time scripts for tablespaces and also knowledge sharing documents on tablespaces please provide them
    thanks

    Hello,
    i required real time scripts for tablespaces and also knowledge sharing documents on tablespaces please provide them It depends on the Oracle Release:
    http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/print_hit_summary?search_string=TABLESPACE
    Every Oracle Release has its news features. For instance LMT (Locally Managed Tablespace) was introduced in *8i*, ASSM (Automatic Segment Space Management) in *9i*, BIGFILE Tablespace in *10g*, ENCRYPTED and COMPRESSED Tablespace were respectively introduced in *11.1* and *11.2*,... and so on.
    The UNDO Tablespace appeared with Oracle *9.2* and the SYSAUX Tablespace with Oracle *10.1*.
    About the Scripts, the previous post give you many useful Notes from MOS.
    Else, you can also extract Report about Database Storage from Oracle SQL Developer which is a free tool:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/overview/index.html
    Hope this help.
    Best regards,

  • What are differences between the target tablespace and the source tablespac

    The IMPDP command create so manay errors. But the EXAMPLE tablespace is transported to the target database successfully. It seems that the transported tablespace is no difference with the source tablespace.

    Short of trying to then reverse-engineer the objects that are in the dump file (I believe Data Pump export files contain some XML representations of DDL in addition to various binary bits, making it potentially possible to try to scan the dump file for the object definitions), I would tend to assume that the export didn't include those type definitions.
    Since it looks like you're trying to set up the sample schemas, is there a reason that you wouldn't just run the sample schema setup scripts on the destination database? Why are you using Data Pump in the first place?

  • Temporary Tablespace and transactions

    Hi.
    I have a query regarding temp tablespace ,
    I am on 10gR2 version. with ONE TEMP tablespace and having one tempfiles.
    temp Tablespace TEMP1 = temp01.dbf (1 GB)
    + Let say I have executed a query-1 from Scott user , its runs for 30 min and let assume its consumed 900MB of tempspace during its completion .
    + And another query -2 from scott or another user fired ( let say Query 1 started earlier than Query 2 ) . and it needs around 500MB of tempspace
    == MY Question is
    Q .1 ) Will the Second Query waits until Query 1 completion ? As we have only one Temp file over here . IF both started executing both Queries will hit unable o extend temp space error .
    - Please provide your inputs and corrections.
    -Thanks.

    TEMP Tablespace size : 1GB NO AutoExtend
    First Query uses 900MB
    Second Query starts using space and will eventually need 500MB space
    Both queries will concurrently be allowed to use Temp Space
    If the first query completes before the second query usage hits 100MB, it will release all 900MB for usage by the second query.
    If the first query hasn't completed and is at 900MB, the second query will error out when it attempts to go beyond 100MB.
    If the first query needs more than 900MB and the second query has used 100MB -- i.e. both are growing in usage -- any one of the two queries wil fail.
    NOTE : If Resumable Space Allocation has been enabled either by setting RESUMABLE_TIMEOUT or by ALTER SESSION ENABLE RESUMABLE, the queries will not fail if the TEMP Tablespace is resized within the timeout period. Else, beyond the timeout, either of the queries will fail.

  • Importing data tables into data tablespace and indexes into tablespaces

    Hi
    I want to import data into new schema and i want to store tables into data tablespaces and index into index tablespace ...can anyone tell me how it will possible...

    I want to import data into new schema and i want to store tables into data tablespaces and index into index tablespace ...can anyone tell me how it will possible...
    imp userid=/user/passwd show=y indexfile=import.sql indexes=n full=y
    imp userid=/user/passwd show=y indexfile=import2.sql full=y
    Edit the import.sql and import2.sql to modify the tables' tablespace and indexes tablespace.
    execute import.sql the script in the database. this will create the tables in their respective tablespace.
    imp userid=/user/passwd full=y ignore=y indexes=n constraints=y - to import just the data since the tables have already been created.
    imp userid=/user/passwd full=y ignore=y rows=n  - to import just the indexes since the tables and data have already been imported.

    Best Regards,

    RMAN is the best utility to do the backup and recover activities. It take care copy and paste itself. Bellow given script is also usefull for hot backup
    spool hotbackup_PROD3.sql;
    set feedback off;
    set verify off;
    set pagesize 2500
    set linesize 132
    set serveroutput on size 50000;
    declare
    cursor tablespace is select tablespace_name from dba_tablespaces where tablespace_name
    in('RBS1',
    'STORAGE',
    'SYSADM_IDX2',
    'SYSADM_IDX3',
    'SYSADM_IDX4',
    'SYSTEM');
    cursor datafile(tsname varchar2 ) is select file_name from dba_data_files
    where tablespace_name = tsname;
    begin
    dbms_output.put_line('spool hotbackup_PRODc.log;');
    dbms_output.put_line('alter system switch logfile;');
    dbms_output.put_line('select ''log''||sequence#,sysdate from v$log where status = ''CURRENT'';
    for tsname in tablespace
    loop
    dbms_output.put_line('alter tablespace '||tsname.tablespace_name||' begin backup;');
    dbms_output.put_line('prompt Starting Backup for '||tsname.tablespace_name||' Tablespace')
    for dname in datafile(tsname.tablespace_name)
    loop
    dbms_output.put_line('prompt Copying File '||dname.file_name||'.....');
    dbms_output.put_line('!cp '||dname.file_name||' /backup2/hotbak'||dname.file_name);
    end loop;
    dbms_output.put_line('alter tablespace '||tsname.tablespace_name||' end backup;');
    dbms_output.put_line('prompt Finished backing up '||tsname.tablespace_name||' Tablespace')
    dbms_output.put_line('alter system switch logfile;');
    end loop;
    dbms_output.put_line('spool off;');
    dbms_output.put_line('!mailx -s "KL_PROD521_HOTBACKUP1" [email protected] < /prod1/HOTBKUP/hotbackup_PRODc.log');

  • HTTP 404 error after changed tablespace and password of schema FLOWS_FILES

    Hi I have a problem of having HTTP 404 not found error for file upload in my apex app by submiting a page. When it goes to http://xxx.xxx.xxx:8080/apex/wwv_flow.accept after unlocked , changed password and change tablespace for the account FLOWS_FILES.
    Is there anyone can help ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Scott,
    Yes, I have modified the bug tracker application to support file upload by using a file browser object and created a "file_upload" table under the workspace schema to keep the linkage with the table WWV_FLOW_FILE_OBJECTS$. The application works fine before but after I realize that the FLOWS_FILES schema can be unlocked and the free space in default tablespace SYSAUX has almost been used up more than 99%, so I first unlock the account FLOWS_FILES, then changed the password and move the table WWV_FLOW_FILE_OBJECTS$ to tablespace FLOW_1 and changed the default tablespace and then rebuilt the index. I have moved the table back to SYSAUX tablespace now and have rebuilt the index also. However, upload a file and then press 'apply change' in the 'create issue log details' page, it gets the error HTTP 404 but if I do not attach any file. It goes without an error. The only thing I changed is on the database side of the FLOWS_FILES schema, so I think the problem resides on it but I don't know why even I moved the table WWV_FLOW_FILE_OBJECTS$ back to SYSAUX, rebuilt the index but still it doesn't work.
    Is that good even explanation ?
    btw, I am using IIS and how can I see the webserver error ?
    Regards,
    Edward
