A simple query to show sales versus last year on daily basis/

Hi guys,
I want to build a simple query with day (1,2,3,4,5,6) on the rows and "sales current year" and "sales last year"
on the columns.
I have only 0CALDAY in my cube.
How can I have on the rows the day in stead of the full date?
I would like to see in the sames row sales current year and sales last year.
Thanks
Shlomi

HI Shlomi
Create a virtual characteristic in your infoprovider that can calculate the day from calendar Day. In ZXRSRZZZ while adding code for this virtual characteristic use the function module DATE_COMPUTE_DAY to compute the day for every calendar day.
For calculating Sales Current year, create a restricted ky figure with Sales as the key figure. Add 0CalDay to this RKF and create a variable for this infoobject(Eg: ZCURYEAR) that will receive input from the user for the range of dates eg: 08/16/2009 - 08/22/2009.
For Sales Prior year, create another restricted key figure with Sales. Add 0CalDay to this RKF and add a customer exit variable. In the Customer exit code use the ZCURYEAR variable and offset it to prior year in both the upper and lower limits. This should work.
I hope this helps.
Thanks.

  • How to get YTD sale for Last year In OBIEE 11g

    Hi All,
I have a fact table for Sale_Amt with doc_date wise details. It is connected to Simple time_dimension table based on Date_ID(Number) field. The time_DIm Hierarchy is set on Year, Quarter, Month fields of the time_dimension table.
One of my reporting requirement is to show show YTD sales and Last Years YTD sales.
e.g, If user select 23 Jul 2013 as the date parameter, I need to show 1-Apr-2013 till 23 Jul 2013 Sales in YTD column and 1-Apr-2012 till 23 Jul 2012 Sales in Year_Ago_YTD column. I am able to get YTD sales but unable to derive at Year_Ago_YTD sales figures.
Finacial Year Start from 1st April till 31 March.
Any Help on this will be appriciated.
    Thanks.
    Narendra Shetty.

    Narendra,
You can make use of the below two functions to get the year ago dates. You can replace current_date with a presentation variable that stores the date parameter that user selected.
    TimestampAdd(SQL_TSI_YEAR,-1,TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_MONTH, 3,TIMESTAMPADD( SQL_TSI_DAY , EXTRACT( DAY_OF_YEAR FROM CURRENT_DATE) * -(1) + 1, CURRENT_DATE))) - It will display previous year's first day of fiscal year (since I passed current_date, it gives you 1st april 2012)
    and
TimestampAdd(SQL_TSI_YEAR,-1,current_date) - Same Day Last year
    Pls mark correct/helpful.

  • Trying to create a query that shows Sales Order/Invoice Totals as well as Paid/Outstanding/Available Down Payments

Currently working on SAP B1 v8.82
I'm looking to generate a query that will give an overall report for a given customer that shows Sales Order No, Invoice No, Sales Order Total, Invoice Total, Amount Paid on Invoice, Amount Remaining on Invoice, Down Payments Available, Open on Sales Order.
I'm not sure what the best way to select the columns in bold above.  Invoice Total should be self-explanatory.  Amount Paid should be any down payments or applied payments on the invoice.  The balance due on the invoice (which seems to be T0.DocTotal if I'm not mistaken) should = 'Invoice Total' - 'Amount Paid on Invoice'. In the Down Payments Available column I want the total amount of money on the account or on down payments that aren't tied to a Sales Order.  If a client overpaid in the past for instance and there's a credit on their account, then it should contribute to this sum.  Open on Sales Order should be pretty easy.  I guess it's just the sum of everything that is still open on the Sales Order.  I'm just not sure what the best way to sum all the un-delivered freight, tax, and line items is.  Here's what my query looks like so far.
SELECT DISTINCT T4.[DocNum] [Sales Order No],
    T0.DocNum [Invoice No],
    T4.DocTotal [Sales Order Total]
    T0.DocTotal [Amount Outstanding],
    FROM OINV T0
    INNER JOIN INV1 T1 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.DocEntry
    INNER JOIN DLN1 T2 ON T1.BaseEntry = T2.DocEntry AND T1.BaseLine = T2.LineNum
    INNER JOIN RDR1 T3 ON T2.BaseEntry = T3.DocEntry AND T2.BaseLine = T3.LineNum
    INNER JOIN ORDR T4 ON T3.DocEntry = T4.DocEntry
    INNER JOIN OSLP T5 ON T4.SlpCode = T5.SlpCode
    WHERE T0.CardName Like '%%[%0]%%'
    GROUP BY T4.DocNum, T0.DocNum, T0.DocTotal, T4.DocTotal
I tried doing a little searching around for queries similar to what I need, but I could find exactly what I was looking for and I'm very unfamiliar with OJDT, JDT1, and ITR1 tables which I think might be important to finding unapplied payments...

Thanks.  There's a few problems though.
    1)  It seems that OINV DocTotal != Balance Due.  I'm seeing a number of invoices where there was a balance due, but we applied additional money (either we took another incoming payment and applied it or applied money from the account balance, etc.) and yet it still shows a total.
    2)  It's pulling incoming payments from different customers.  I think this is because the table was joined based on "RCT2 T4 on T4.[DocEntry]  =  T3.[DocNum] and T4.[InvoiceId] = T2.[LineNum]"  In one example I have 2 incoming payments 446 and 614.  Both have the DocEntry 542, but one relates to A/R Invoice 542 (for a different client) while the other relates to Down Payment Invoice 542.  *I was able to fix this by adding WHERE T5.CardCode = [%0]*
    3)  I'm going to work with this a little bit and see if I can alter it to make it work for me.  Basically this query falls a little short on the following:
    -  Doesn't include incoming payments that aren't linked to a down payment invoice.
    -  Does not give the Invoice Total (I'd like to know how much of the SO was invoiced.  DocTotal seems to give me Amount Invoiced - Down Payments.  I'm not sure the best way to get this number.  Maybe I could do the sum of each line * tax + freight)
    -  Does not give the outstanding amount on an invoice.  The ARtotal [DocTotal] column gives me how much was owed when the invoice was created, but it doesn't tell me what is currently owed.
    -  Lastly it may complicate the query too much and could be left off, but it would be nice to see if they have any money from credits or incoming payments that has not been applied.  Perhaps this would be easily accomplished by simply pulling in their account balance.

  • HUGE files this year versus last year to burn

Last year I made my husband a CD for Christmas and had 1.1 hours of music on it. This year the 1.1 hours of music from 2009 is a HUGE file and it won't burn. Why are this year's downloads so big and is there a way I can filter out extraneous info to just burn a CD of the music?? Thanks for any help!!

1.1 hours of music should burn to a normal audio CD without a problem, no matter what the sizes of the underlying files are. Pls explain what you are doing, and somebody here will try to help.

  • Function/Procedure help - just want to build simple query and show results

I'd like a simple "histogram" function - perhaps there is one built-in I'm not aware of. I just want to count discrete values of a column. So I'm constantly writing queries of the form:
    select column_name, count(*)
    from table_name
    group by column_name
    order by column_name;
and I'm trying to write a function that will allow me to just type:
    execute whatever(column_name, table_name)
    or select whatever(column_name, table_name) from ?
and get the equivalent results from the query above.
How do you, or can you, write a procedure to take column/table names as inputs, substitue them into a query, execute the query and just display the results of that query? As I'm trying to figure out how to do this via google search, I keep going down rabbit holes of creating temporary tables/data types/records/refcursors etc. and I can't get any of it to compile. I'm not a DBA or SQL expert, so I'm hoping there's a simple way to accomplish this (without having to store and then process the "results" one row at a time)

If I understand the requirement correctly, a simple pipelined function will do it:

Just to be clear - I'm not saying it's a great idea to do that, just that's a way of doing it technically. I'd just use the static way myself.

  • Sales of Last two days of each week in a given Posting Period ???

    Hi,
Here I would like to share one of my tech. requirement in Bex query, your inputs are much appreciated -
Scenario - In report I want to show "Sales for Last two days of week". I elaborate more like -
    (1) User inputs will be given for "Fiscal period" through Variable.
    (2) In Row all weeks lying in this period will be displayed.
    (3) In Column 1, Sale for each week will be shown.
    (4) In Column 2, Sale for Last two days of each week is to be displayed. (here we need to restrict Sales with last 2 Calendar days of each week.)
Point 4 is of my concern. Any suggestions will help a lot. Points must be assigned.
    Regards,
    Saurabh

    Hi,
I do not have a very good solution for you - see if this is of use.
Firstly, I am not sure if it is possible to show the query like you want, with the weekly sales and the "last 2 day/week" sales combined and intertwined in one query.
To create a query which will only show the sales of last 2 days of every week, what you can do is to create a variable on 0calday which will be 'multiple single values' type and will be calculated based on the user input of fiscal period (exit variable). This exit logic should assign the variable the last 2 days of each week falling within this period.
Now you can put 'week' in the in the rows and restrict the query filter using the 0calday variable; put the KF in the columns area. This would lead to one row being displayed for each week and sales for only the last 2 days showing in that row.
Creating a query for weekly sales is simple - maybe then you can put these two queries side by side in a workbook/web template.

  • How to compare this week with last years week sales ?

    Hi all,
I have a table called Sales with two columns  Date and UnitsSold
Date is of type smalldatetime   and will have the date of the sales
while UnitsSold is type int and will have the number of units sold
I need to write a stored procedure that will compare between a week's sales from last year with a week sales from this year and show the percent in sales difference
    Thanks

    DECLARE @thisYearThisWeekStart DATETIME = DATEADD(DAY,1-DATEPART(weekday,'2014-01-01'),DATEADD(WEEK,DATEPART(WEEK,GETDATE())-1,'2014-01-01'))
    DECLARE @thisYearThisWeekEnd DATETIME = DATEADD(DAY,0-DATEPART(weekday,'2014-01-01'),DATEADD(WEEK,DATEPART(WEEK,GETDATE()),'2014-01-01'))
    DECLARE @lastYearThisWeekStart DATETIME = DATEADD(DAY,1-DATEPART(weekday,'2013-01-01'),DATEADD(WEEK,DATEPART(WEEK,GETDATE())-1,'2013-01-01'))
    DECLARE @lastYearThisWeekEnd DATETIME = DATEADD(DAY,0-DATEPART(weekday,'2013-01-01'),DATEADD(WEEK,DATEPART(WEEK,GETDATE()),'2013-01-01'))
    DECLARE @thisYear INT, @lastYear Int
DECLARE @salesTable TABLE (date DATE, unitsSold INT)
    INSERT INTO @salesTable (date, unitsSold)
    VALUES
    ('2013-07-07',10),('2013-07-08',9),('2013-07-09',8),('2013-07-10',7),('2013-07-11',6),('2013-07-12',5),('2014-07-13',4),
    ('2014-07-06',12),('2014-07-07',13),('2014-07-08',14),('2014-07-09',15),('2014-07-10',16),('2014-07-11',17),('2014-07-12',18)
SET @thisYear = (SELECT SUM(unitsSold) AS tUnitsSold FROM @salesTable WHERE date BETWEEN @thisYearThisWeekStart AND @thisYearThisWeekEnd)
SET @lastYear = (SELECT SUM(unitsSold) AS tUnitsSold FROM @salesTable WHERE date BETWEEN @lastYearThisWeekStart AND @lastYearThisWeekEnd)
SELECT @thisYear AS thisYear, @lastYear AS lastYear, CONVERT(float,ROUND(((@thisYear+.0)/@lastYear)*100,2))
You should really use a calendar table.

  • Last Year Sales Report

I have a requirement where say user selects year and months by prompts eg. 2008 jan and 2008 feb. It should also give me sales for last year and should be arranged as rows.
    2008 Jan Sales
    2008 Feb Sales
    2007 Jan Sales
    2007 Feb Sales
    How to go about it?
    Thanks

You would need to expose another column (you can hide it, of course) that contains the month number (monthnum) equivalent (1 - 12) of the month name (Jan - Dec). Set primary sorting (1) to the year in descending order and secondary sorting (2) to the monthnum column in ascending order.
As for getting "last year's" data from the prompt, say you have a prompt called "Year." Then you would create two "year" filters, on the Year column, as follows:
    "column name".year = @{Year}
    OR
    "column name".year = @{Year}-1
This will pull both the "prompt year" and the year before.

  • To get last year Net Value by fiscal period

    Dear experts,
Since yesterday am trying to get solution where still unable to succeed. The report requirement is that they need Planned sales and actual sales qty of current fiscal year/period wise and in first column to get last year Actual sales for same period.(Ex:009.2006 to 011.2006 is input and in first coloumn 009.2005 to 011.2005)
    This is the situation:
I have kept restricted W2 for fiscal year varient in filter and have created quantity sales(for last year) RKF with variable as "From fiscal year/period-13 and To Fiscal year/period-1"(with offset) and have placed in Key Figure structure in column section.Above this Structure have kept Fiscal year/period info object with variable "From Fiscal Year/period to To Fiscal year/period.This is because i need period wise breakup.
I understand that above we have "From Fiscal year/period infoobject" and below that in key figure structure u have the above quoted key figure with quantity sales of previous year.I want period wise it has to show me last year(period wise) quantity with current year Planned aty and sales Qty
Have gone through all threads and now it feels that i should to for variable exit ?...Do i have any option apart from variable exit?...If so could anybody can provide code for the same...Kindly gimme solution.
    Maximum points will be awarded..
    Thanks and Rgds
    Chandru

    Hi,
I hope, you are entering  values 009.2006 to 011.2006 for the variable "From Fiscal Year/period to To Fiscal year/period". Am I right?
If so, Donot restrict the fiscal year period with "From Fiscal Year/period to To Fiscal year/period like as you mentioned:--
<i>Above this Structure have kept Fiscal year/period info object with variable "From Fiscal Year/period to To Fiscal year/period.This is because i need period wise breakup.</i>
To get the break up Priod wise, taking Fiscal year period characterstics above  the structure is sufficient with ou any restriction.
Under the characterstic fiscal year period take two KF (same kf called SALES QTY two times with different heading like " last year Actual sales" and "current year Actual sales ") . First KF will be restricted with customer exit varible on Fiscal year period characterstic. Second KF will be restricted with user entry varible on Fiscal year period characterstic.
In case if you enter the value 009.2006 to 011.2006 as the iput to user entry varible, the code should generate the value 009.2005 to 011.2005 to Customer exit varible.

  • ABAP Logic - This Month This Year to This Month Last Year problem

    Hi All,
I have a following requirement ... the report currently compares This Month This Year to This Month Last Year. But this is not a valid comparison for the user until the end of the month is reached as only then is it comparing 2 full months. We would like to use a formula replacement path variable to work out which proportion of data we have for this month. ie. if its day 15, we have 50% of data (if there are 30 days in the month - this just an example), therefore we should only show 50% of This Month Last Years column so that the comparison between the 2 is sensical.
So I'd like the formula variable to return a ratio or percentage which I can then use in a calculated key figure in the query to pro-rata the last year data.
The query currently displays data by Fiscal Period, so when working out the ratio I would need to check which Fiscal Period we're in and also consider that the data is loaded every night, so on the 1st day of a Fiscal Period we are comparing everything up until yesterday.
Can anyone see in problem with the logic of this, or better yet, has anyone done this before and maybe has some code for me? Is there another way I could be doing this?

  • How to show current year and last year sales in a WEBI Report

    Hi Guys
How can show current YEar Sales in one column and Last YEar Sales in the other column based on a user prompt for the Current YEar Column.
For Example is user enter 2010 for Year how can i show a Column for Sales-2010 and Sales 2009.
    Thanks

If you can modify your Universe add an object named New Object Last Year whose SQL is:( yourTableName.Year + 1)
Then in WebI create two distinct queries in your query Pane. In the first one you could do this:
    Query 1:
    objects: Year, Sales ... etc.
filters:   Year Equal to '1. Prompt Year'
    Query 2:
    objects: Year, Sales ... etc.
filters:    New Object Last Year Equal to '1.Prompt Year'
Then in your report you can drag each object on their respective columns.
If you don't want to use two distinct queries, use one like this:
    Query 1:
    objects: Year, Sales ... etc.
filters:        Year Equal to '1. Prompt Year'
                 Or
New Object Last Year Equal to '1.Prompt Year'

  • Creating Query to show items from open sales orders with a/p invoice

    Hi experts,
I am trying to create a query that will show what items/quantities are still in open sales orders that can now be filled by an incoming shipment of goods, processed through the a/p invoice.
This needs to be done using subqueries, which I have no experience with.  I am trying to do this using the ORDR and RDR1 tables to show the open items from the sales orders and the OPOR and POR1 tables to show items just received in to inventory.  I would like the query to show exactly the open item's, their quantities, the posting date from the sales order and the customer name that can now be filled from the new shipment through the a/p invoice.
    I appreciate the assistance,
    Hayden (on behalf of Todd)

    Hello,
    try this
    SELECT T0.[DocDate], T1.[ItemCode], T1.[Dscription],( T1.[Quantity] - T1.[DelivrdQty]) As "Open Qty" FROM ORDR T0  INNER JOIN RDR1 T1 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.DocEntry WHERE T0.[DocDueDate]  <= [%0]And ( T1.[Quantity] - T1.[DelivrdQty]) != 0
Try this query in query manager.

I have to create a Query with the below requirement.
I have to create a Query to show the values for the current month and the last 12 months data.
Can you please guide me how to achieve this ??
    thank you,

    Hema
explain the exact problem..? as you mentioned you want to create query to show values for current month and last 12 months.. so I think you want to show values for 12 months from current data.. you can achive this by multiple way..
you can have selection screen and field with date .. and restrict based on system current date and 12 months before or you can handle this at your target.. .. I mean there are multiple ways to restrict data by date range..
    for some more hints..

Did you create a software metering rule for each software title? if not then you need you do that first and it will take over a week before you see results.
Also keep in mind that your query will only find x86 software titles.
