A "success" dialog box keeps popping up during wifi connection

Since I've upgraded to Mavericks, an always-on-top dialog box displaying the text "Success!" keeps popping up about every few minutes... very annoying! At work, where I use my Macbook as well, a similar popup is shown, but the message is blocked by my company's proxy, so I get an "Access denied" message. How do I switch this off, and why is it there in the first place?
Using a Macbook Pro late 2011, running 10.9.

In system preferences, go to Network > Advanced > Proxies. At work, I have this set to a secure web proxy with some settings, but at home I switched it to Auto Proxy Discovery. This gets rid of the dialog (for me).
As of recently, I discovered I don't have to switch anymore at work, if I fill in the "bypass proxy settings blah" box, with some stuff the IT dept gave me.

FYI I am referring to my ISP email on the providor's website, although I have not tried opening other email accounts on the updated Firefox.

  • Network Access dialog box keeps popping up too quickly to click

Lately, Compressor (or maybe Batch Monitor) has been causing this problem:
While a batch is compressing, a dialog box pops up on the screen for a fraction of a second, way too quickly to read it or click on it. I see "Deny" and "Allow" buttons, so I am guessing it's a dialog box asking about network access.
I found that it pops up at the same time interval I set in Batch Monitor's prefs for updating.
I tried trashing Compressor's prefs and restarting it.
The frustrating thing about this problem is that it interrupts anything else I'm doing. It interrupts typing, or a mouse drag. The only workaround I've found, so far, is to not run Batch Monitor at all.
I'd reinstall, but that'll take days because I have to track down someone in the company who keeps the install media under lock and key. I'm hoping you know of a way to solve this... please? A search of this forum turned up nothing, so far, but I saw a user posted about this problem on another site... and the solution suggested there didn't work for me (not sure it worked for him, either).

I was having the same problem and noticed that while hovering over a menu item, the popping box stopped popping up. I of course couldn't keep my mouse hovering over a menu item forever and do anything else, but luckily I tried selecting "About Compressor" from the menu and that stopped the box from popping up as well and let me go on to other applications. As long as you don't click the About Compressor box off the screen, the popping box problem is solved, at least for me it is working...
    I hope this helps you...

  • Outlook 2010 Annoying login dialog box keeps popping up

I have a client on Exchange 2010. They're using Outlook 2010. ONE employee keeps getting a popup login screen for some reason. I don't know why but it appears to be tied to the HTTP settings 9n the Microsoft Exchange Proxy Settings section. I did not set
these on the client side but it keeps populating and the authentication is BASIC. This is a desktop computer (does not travel outside the LAN) so I don't need this setup. But when I uncheck the HTTP proxy settings option it keeps coming back.
Why is this happening and how can I turn this off for this user?
Note: it does not affect Outlook's ability to access email. He usually just closes the dialog box but it keeps coming back (and this is the business owner, of course...couldn't happen to a low level worker, you know.)

    Hi,
I have seen this problem on pretty much every SBS2011 deployment I have undertaken (and has only affected 1 or 2 users at each site which I have always thought strange)
Try this from an exchange shell
    [PS]> Get-OutlookAnywhere | Set-OutlookAnywhere -IISAuthenticationMethod NTLM -ClientAuthenticationMethod NTLM

  • How come the "save as" dialog box keeps popping up whenever I try to use alt codes?

I type with diacritical marks regularly but recently, when I press and hold Fn + Alt + the numerical code, it brings up the "save as" dialog box. This seems to be a Firefox-specific issue because this doesn't happen on Microsoft Word + other programs. I am wondering how to disable this "save as" dialog box shortcut, or how to just get the alt codes to work.

Hm, this is the list of add-ons that are currently enabled on my browser:
    <br><br>
Dictionnaire française moderne (it can't be this one because I just installed it today)<br>
    Java Console 6.0.18<br>
    Java Console 6.0.25<br>
    Java Console 6.0.20<br>
    Java Console 6.0.24<br>
pdfit (doesn't seem like it's this one either)<br><br>
Conclusion: might it be one of the Java Consoles?
    Thanks!

  • This Dialog Box keeps popping up in iTunes. Specifically when in the podcast section.  Has anyone seen it before?

Here is the screenshot of the message. Any input greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

Thanks...unfortunately the dialog box appears as soon as open up iTunes, I don't get a chance to check which podcast it is. Once I cancel the box, wheel appears and all is frozen spinning it's little heart out.
I've contacted the podcast owners to advise of the issue.   I'm just happy it's not just me.
Thanks for the feedback - still helpful.

  • Order PPV Box Keeps Popping Up During Purchased PPV

The past 3-4 times that I've ordered PPVs, a pop-up window randomly comes up during the event saying that it's already in progress & to press OK to order it. This window takes up the majority of the screen & stays up for about five minutes, blocking the event that I already paid $60+ to watch.
I called Fios "Customer Support" about this after a recent event & the Verizon "customer service" employee had zero interest in fixing this problem or even providing suggestions. I was told that he couldn't do anything since I didn't call immediately when it happened and if I wanted a refund I had to call someone else. My thought was that I'm already missing chunks of what I paid for, the last thing I want to do is wait on hold to be told that I should try unplugging my box & plugging it back in for the hundredth time.
Anyone else had this problem? Could it be an issue with my cable box?

for me it is very difficult to believe that this behavior occurs randomly, in fact I have 2 different disks (leopard) ... only the one on sata disks not working well. (i use stripped raid set)
the OP use a Power PC G5 and Tiger ... (or this are its profil info)
the apple suggestion about using different busses are good only for 8 Core... I have tryed that, but it does not seems to be helpful for Dual processors machine
I Just do this test recently on my G5...
I use 2X Maxtor IDE drives striped in raid locaded in the G5 ATA buss (usually this buss is connect to the super drive)
I have replaced the superdrive and with a super ATA cable I have modified my G5...
I Can mount 2 additional internal ATA133 HDs instead the Superdrive (that I have on External firewire box)
well.. I use that ATA buss as System 10.5.6 Disk
I don't have any POPs, DROPs and System overload... (obvious the only System overload happens only when a real heavy project run.... but I don't have randomly overloads)
if instead to use "Leopard on Maxtor drives" I start leopard fron 2 X samsung 500GB striped raid disk... (very fast for sustained speed) I got frequently drops with only 10/20 tracks and 3 VST instruments...
on my G5 the issue seems to be strictly related with HDs performances!
    Not randomly at all...
in my case one system works fine... the other one is crappy drops pops!!!
(this every day without any random condition)
OS X require super fast hard drive for Logic... if you use Logic on an empty hard drive it will works better (because the virtual memory is more faster!)
The same "pops, drops issue" happens in OS9.2 and Logic when system virtual Memory was active!

  • System overload box keeps popping up during playback. any answers?

I'm working on a project that only has 34 total tracks. They're not even playing all at once. I keep getting a window that pops up saying: "System Overload. The audio engine was not able to process all required data in time." I cleaned up the project and dumped the unused files but still have had no luck getting rid of the window that pops up and stops playback. Any answers would be greatly appreciated

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in <u>[[Safe mode]]</u>:
    * Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)
