ABAP and Java HTTP Port same - PI 7.1 EHP1

Hi,
I have installed PI 7.1 EHP1 system.
I realize that both ABAP and Java HTTP Ports are same.
Is there any official note reg this or any info from SAP on the change.
icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP,PORT=51500,TIMEOUT=60,PROCTIMEOUT=600
icm/HTTP/j2ee_0   = PREFIX=/,HOST=localhost,CONN=0-500,PORT=5$$00
Thanks,
Tanuj

Hi,
>>I realize that both ABAP and Java HTTP Ports are same.
the changed happened in 7.1 already as far as I remember
but I don't think it's documented anywhere except maybe the installation guide

  • ABAP and JAVA testdrive on same server

    Hi
In some threads I can read that it's possible to install an ABAP testdrive and a JAVA testdrive on same server and in other threads I can read that its not possible.
I have tried it myself without succes.
    Has anyone actually done this?
    Best regards
    Thomas

I haven't tried is myself, even though standard SAP should allow you to. I assume the versions ABAP exclusive and JAVA exclusive are created in a way you cannot combine them. That is a pitty.
ON THE OTHER HAND, though, there is a version available for LINUX that has ABAP and JAVA stacks available on the same installation.
    Check on <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloads">https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloads</a>
Good luck and let me know your findings.

  • Difference between the abap stack http port and the java http port

    Hello,
Is there a difference if a call a webservice in the SAP PI via the abap http port or the java http port?
    For abap it is:
    http://pi.host.de:8035/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
    For java:
    http://pi.host.de:53500/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?
    Is it technical the same?
Which is your prefered port and why?
    Thank you
    Best regards,
    Nils Kloth

    Hi,
    I found the blog
Using the SOAP inbound channel of the Integration Engine
    So the main differences are:
    Advantage
When you send SOAP messages directly to the Integration Server, you reduce the message load on the adapter engine. This can improve the performance.
    Restrictions
The SOAP inbound channel of the Integration Server does not support attachments. SOAP messages with content type "multipart" are rejected.

  • ADS in ABAP and JAVA on different servers

    Dear community,
I need to run ADS with  ABAP and JAVA on different servers but after read and apply every step on The ADS Configuration Guide, still getting doubts and problems. Those steps work succesfully on a server with ABAP+JAVA on same server. Those are the problems:
When I perform the report test FP_TEST_00 i get this error:
    ADS: com.adobe.ProcessingException: Problem accessing d(200101)
I haven't found a a detailed procedure to set on ABAP and JAVA on different servers...
Do you know any procedure to set this scenario??
As a result, I don't know which role i must assign to adsuser on Java UME because i did not found any SAP_ADSCALLER role as i have ridden on some forums or blogs...
I try to set ADS on ABAP+JAVA on different servers by this official guides:
    The ADS Configuration Guide:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/30a9630b-4f89-2a10-6fab-e311b3ffd9a6

    Thanks in advance
    Kind regards

    HI again,
ADS_AGENT now has sap_all but still same problem:
Creating or Changing the Destination Service, On Visual Administrator/Destinations/HTTP/ FP_ICF_DATA_<SID>
When I set the URL http://<hostname>:<HTTP_port> i am getting error Received HTTP response 502
    - If I paste the http://<hostname>:<HTTP_port>  +
    - Enter the appropriate client number of the system, where the service user ADS_AGENT exists into the client field. Keep the other fields System ID and Language empty +
    - Under Logon Data, choose BASIC in the Authentication field. +
    - Enter ADS_AGENT in the Username field and enter the same password as given for this service user in the SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP in the Password field
    - Choose Save and Test and  Received HTTP response 502 appears.
But if I paste on Explorer  http://<hostname>:<HTTP_port>/sap/bc/fp/form/layout/fp_test_00.xdp, request User (ADS_AGENT) +Pwd and work ok, so error only appears by Visual Administrator...
Anybody knows how can resolve this doubt?
    Thanks in advance

  • Level of Knowledge in ABAP and Java?

    Hi All,
I am seeking a career in SAP Netweaver Process Integration - XI and would like to know what level of knowledge would i need to have in ABAP and Java. If i should have any what are the area's that would be expected. Please Clarify.
Your advice will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You,
    Ajay C Indukuru.

    Hi Ajay
    in addition to chirag's comment
We use ABAP Proxies in case of we are dealing with the ABAP Based Applications
We use JAVA Proxies in case of we are dealing with the JAVA based application
in SAP XI We have  two ways of connectivity
    1) adapter
    2)proxy
in applications based on WAS 6.20 or above we can directly communicate to XI through Proxies
while application based on below WAS 6.20 you have to use adaptyer to communicate to XI
proxies seperate business application logic from the integration logic of integration logic
proxy generation converts non language specific interface description in WSDL into executable interface
Java proxy is generated from the WSDL description opf interface and this is generated as a JAR file in IR
while ABAP proxy is generated by transaction SPROXY
on Application server based on WSDL description of message interface
PROXIES have same mode and direction as Interfaces have
To learn Java you should know only basic concepts of java means you must have basic java programmin skill
Java proxy can be generated through wizard also this is an inbuild functionality of SAP XI
to lear java follow this link
    java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/
To learn ABAP you should know beginner level ABAP4GL
ABAP is very simple language and coding is like that you are writing simple english sentence so you would be feeling comfortable withABAP with a little practice
GO to T CODE se24 and start developing
    learn ABAP with this link
    http://www.itquestionbank.com/sams-teach-yourself-abap-4-in-21-days.html
for more advance version you may follow SDN
in my opinion nothing is so hard to learn
i hope this may assist you
    if helpful kindly reward points

  • Password inconsistencies on PI between ABAP and JAVA

    Hi,
I have having a problem with the passwords between the ABAP and Java Stack. I have read SAP Note 999962 and reset the password of service user PILDUSER with Tx SU01 and made sure the user Id is not locked.
I then attempted to call the Exchange Profile with http://<PI Host>:<port>/dir/start/index.jsp but the link returns the error:
    Internal Error
Internal error; contact your system administrator
Unable to read configuration data (ExchangeProfile/aii.properties)
SAP have aske me to use this liknk too:
    http://<PIhost>:<Port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcxiexprofui/XIProfileApp
and this returns with a  500   Internal Server Error
    Regards

    Hi ViJaYaNt JhA ,
I did not know about the 8 character limit on the password SAP note 999962 doe not list this.
I can change the password in ABAP to 8 characters, but I am still not able to connect to the Exchange profile to change the password.
    http://<PI Host>:<port>/dir/start/index.jsp or
    http://<PIhost>:<Port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcxiexprofui/XIProfileApp
    Is there another workaround?

    Hi,
Tha ABAP stack consists of the Integration Server which in turn contains your Integration Engine and Business Process Engine.
The J2EE stack contains the Adapter Engine and your IR and ID run on the J2EE engine.
Ever wondered how and where the XI pipeline gets executed? It happens in the ABAP stack.
All messsages picked by the Adapter Framework running on the J2EE engine are passed to the Integration Engine, which does the routing. The mapping program again gets executed on the Java stack and the rest of the pipeline servies are executed again on the ABAP stack and so  on.
Take a look at the XI overview doc to understand this better,

  • WebDispatcher on ABAP and JAVA on serperate Servers

    Hi all,
i read a lot of hours trough post concerning issues about web dispatcher, but i didn't find anything that suits my problem.
We have a MSCS-Cluster. One Node has the db which is for ABAP and JAVA (different schemas).
Than we have an SCS for ABAP and one for JAVA.
So the ABAP and JAVA-Instances are physically separated.
Now we want to use a web dispatcher to pass the requests to the right destination.
But i am not sure how to set it up. Do we need 2 dispatcher, or can one handle the requests. How does the dispatcher knows, where to redirect the requests ?
Is that done with the parameter icm/HTTP/redirect_<xx>  ?
in hope of any advise to this problem
    yours
    BjoernTrabes

So, i tested around a little bit.
i am not clear with the function of the dispatcher.
When i bind the ABAP Dispatcher, than all requests to /sap/ are handled by the ABAP-Stack an are working, but when i browse to an Adress like /irj/portal/ the dispatcher says that the Adress is noch reachable.
When i bind the dispatcher to the Java-Stack, than all Java-Adresses work, but the /sap/ not, which is the ABAP Stack.
so, i don't know exactly where my fault is.
How knows the Dispatcher, where the ABAP or JAVA-Stack is.
On an other Machine where the java is an add-in, it works quite well, but on this server the abap and Java Servers are physically separated.
    greets

  • ABAP aND Java Stack

Whats the use of an ABAP and Java Stacks in XI? What exactly they are doing for XI?
    Thanks.

  • Links for ABAP and JAVA Admin + Troubleshooting

    Hi Gurus,
Can anyone send me the useful links for Admin + Troubleshooting in SAP BASIS i.e. ABAP and JAVA ?
Also, which are the Routing Maintenance Tasks in SAP BASIS ?
Any / All help is most welcome and would be rewarded with suitable points.
    Many Thanks in Advance ,

    Hello Balaji,
Yes, you can connect the JAVA user adminsitration with the Single CUA.
Make use of the JAVA UME feature for this.

  • ABAP and Java Stack: Which to choose/supported standards and components?

    Hello,
I am trying to understand the role of the two stacks in NW. Maybe anyone has a few
hints where I can find answers to the following questions:
    - An overview of supported Standards (Java 5 since when?)
    - An overview of which component runs on which stack? Portal->Java, Integration Server->ABAP and so on.
    - Guidelines when to install both stacks and when to use just one stack? When do I use which one?
    - Has SAP an stategy towards an one Stack solution (possibly Java?)
Best regards and thanks for any pointers!
    Stefan

An overview of supported Standards (Java 5 since when?)
    Go to service.sap.com/pam
Product Availability Matrix will tell you about supported version and platforms.
An overview of which component runs on which stack? Portal->Java, Integration Server->ABAP and so on.
Usually the question goes the other direction: what stacks we need for implementation of a particular function?
More and more products require ABAP backend and Java frontend.
For example Employee Self Service has been transerred from ABAP only ITS based to ABAP backend and Java frontend.
    Same with SRM.
Guidelines when to install both stacks and when to use just one stack? When do I use which one?
Same as above, driven by business requirements, not technology.
Has SAP an stategy towards an one Stack solution (possibly Java?)
No. Core business functions are still being developed on ABAP and interface, GUI etc utilize JAVA.

  • Individual business system for ABAP and Java Stack

    Hi All,
I need to send message from a system to XI via ABAP proxy and Java proxy. The sender's ABAP and Java proxy use the same message interface to communicate with XI. Should I create one business system for the ABAP stack and one for Java stack of the sender system?
    Thanks + Best Regards
    Jerome

Are you sending same message type from ABAP proxy and Java Proxy to XI?
If you have ABAP proxy, why do you need Java Proxy? Actually you cannot create any Java proxies on ABAP bases systems. What kind of system sender is? Java proxies are created for pure Java based applications.
Let me know if I didnt understand your question correctly. If so, please explain in detail why you need both proxies and what is your sender application.

  • New Server for Preview SAP WAS ABAP and Java

    Hi
I wish to purchase a new PC or server to specifically house my ABAP and Java preview installations rather than have them running on an old PC and laptop.
Anyone out there got some recommended configurations?  Max spend will be £1500.
    Cheers
    Ian

    Ian,
Personally I wouldn't be happy running a server 24/7 at home but would want to just switch it on and the server start so would be looking to have some sort of script to run the relevant WAS instances automatically on startup.
160Gb hard drives would be ample. Could consider increasing the storage and then the system could double up as a backup device as well as a SAP server.
I've built systems in the past and that's the approach I'd take for this too. I don't mind buying pre-built systems but I
detest all the rubbish software they bundle with them. If you build it yourself you can install just Windows and it'll run like a dream.
    This bundle looks interesting:
    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-039-OK
The motherboard takes four memory modules so the 2Gb would consume two of these allowing for upgrades in the future if deemed necessary. Add in a couple of HD's, a DVD-RW, a cheap gfx card and a case and you'd easily get change from £800. Could spend a bit more to get more silent components too.
Now I've had a look around and priced them up I'm even more tempted!!!
    Cheers,
    JB

  • MDM with separated ABAP and Java Instance

We installed SAP ERP system with SRM server and Portal as Java instance.
We use Oracle and have 2 oracle schemas/instances: ABAP and Java.
After mounting of MDM server and DBMS configuraiton (to Java instance) we have the following oracle objects:
    Oracle Schema A2I_XCAT_DBS
2 oracle users: A2I_XCAT_DBS (owner of the schema) and MDMADMIN
2 tablespaces A2I_A2I_XCAT_DBS.DBF and A2I_A2I_XCAT_DBS_IX.DBF within the main dbs directory E:\oracle\<sid>\102\database
The used tablespace was set to PSAPTEMP
    Questions:
    1) How can the DBMS configuration will be removed, because the oralce path  E:\oracle\<sid>\102\database was wrong
Unfortunately we would like to avoid merge MDM and Portal data in one and the same tablespace PSAPTEMP
    2) Where can we find the oracle configuration for MDM with Java Schema, but using their own tablespace?

Are you basically trying to put a new User Interface (UI) on top of MDM because you do not want to use the standard MDM UI?  If so, then yes you could write a custom WebDynpro and use the MDM API.  We evaluated WebDynpro as an option, but instead we built a new Adobe Flex based UI that sits on top of the MDM Catalog and it totally awesome!  There is a sample on our website (www.simplifying-it.net), but we are making some changes to the look/feel... however, the sample demo on the website should give you an idea.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Mark
