ABAP QUERY HEADER from "selection criteria"
Dear Expert,
I would like to add coding for showing "billing date from - to" (selection criteria) to my ABAP QUERY Header. I used "SAP List Viewer" as my reports.
Can anyone sharing idea and how to code it?

1. Not possible to put validation for selection criteria windows.
2. In standard, I don't think it is possible to hide only one item group.
3. Alternatively don't give authorization to user for running sales reports. If still need create customized query and ask user run every month.

Performance tuning for ABAP Query (created from t-cd SQ01)
Hello all,
We created ABAP Query report from transaction SQ01.
But the generated report has an appropriate SQL statement which causes performance problem.
To solve this issue, I guess the easiest way is;
0. Give up to use it.
1. Copy it to another object in the customer namespace.
2. Ajust SQL statement.
But I'm wondering if there're appropriate ways to adjust SQL statement of Query.
Could anybody give me any better idea?

How to count no. of days from selection criteria in BEx
hi,
I need to do some calculations in query and one of requirements is to count number of days for which query was executed (day period is in query selection criteria)
I would like to use it for calculated KF definition.
Does somebody knows how to get this number?

Functional requirements
Introduction
The wish of the customer is a printable customer overview. All desired fields will be shown in a new query called ZZADDRSS_CO. Double entries are taken for granted because of the data taken from the sales area and because of multiple contact persons. The customer accepts this. It should be made possible that the user creates and saves its own variant.
A second overview is needed, another ABAP will be developed for this requirement. This ABAP will show all the customer data and this list will have the possibility to be printed.
Solution
New Query ZZADDRESS_CO
The desired fields of attachment 1 need to be shown in the query.
The selection criteria are shown in attachment 2.
The column names of the additional data have to changed in the query.
Customer Overview.
Functional specification.
On behalf of this customer overview a standard SAP transaction will be used (transaction VC/2).This transaction will be extended.
The fields are shown on screen with the described headers. Printing of the overview will be done via SAP script. The script makes use of a fixed layout of the data.
The selection criteria are specified in attachment 2.
The layout of the customer overview and the SAP Script are specified in attachment 3.
Specification.
The next steps need to be performed.
1. A routine per infoblock need to be created in Include RV77UNNN. In this routine the data is retrieved and written down to the screen and script,
Example LST1_901 . In include RV77SNNN you can find the standard infoblocks.
2. Adapt via transaction SE16 table TFRM.
3. Create a new view in the customizing (sales and distribution- Sales support-sales summary-Assign Reporting Views).Assign the new view to the infoblocks.(Example view 001 is assigned to block 901).
4. In customizing it is not possible to assign the correct window and element to the infoblock .so this is done via SE16 in table T182A.
5. Adapt script. Copy script SD-SALES-SUMMARY to a Z-SALES_SUMM.
Assign this new version to the new view in customizing. Create in the main window the element who writes the data on behalf of the print.

SQ01 query on LDB BRF with selection criteria on BSEG
Dear all,
we built an inofset on LDB BRF (BKPF - BSEG) and a query with selection criteria based on both BKPF and BSEG tables.
My proble : when the query select a posting fullfilling header data selection criteria but not line item criteria, it still displayed the header data in the layout.
We set up a filter on the account to hide results where account is blank but we loss the filter exporting the result on access. So if anyome has a better idea, we'll be very thankfull.

What Edan proposed will work as logical AND (both filters on dates will be checked simultaneously).
Here is a solution.
Youll have a user entry variable on 0CALDAY.
- Create a new variable on 0CALDAY, customer exit, mandatory, not ready for input. This variable should return the date entered in user entry variable.
- Create a structure in columns.
- New selection (lets name it chg). Put there your KF and your Change date char. Restrict it by the user entry var. Hide it.
- New selection (lets name it crt). Put there your KF and your Created on date char. Restrict it by the customer exit var. Hide it.
New formula (lets name it FilteredAmount):
( 'chg' <> 0 ) * 'chg' + ( 'crt' <> 0 ) * 'crt'
Create a condition:
FilteredAmount <> 0.

SQ01 - Include a check box on ABAP query Selection screen
Hi Experts,
For my Abap Query, on the selection screen i am planning to include a check box such that if i click on the check box then a field will be displayed in the resulting output . On the other hand if i do not check on i should not be able the field in the output.

I understand that SAP automatically generates an ABAP program for every ABAP Query wherein the selection fields are connected by an "AND" statement within the WHERE clause of the actual SELECT statement.
Is there a way to control this WHERE clause in such a way that we can use "OR" operators as well to connect some selection fields?

At selection-screen output (code section 13), set "1" to the field REQUIED by using MODIFY SCREEN code .
(You can get Dynpro number by F1 key or T-cd SE51 )

How make default values in the selection criteria of BEx query????

I have to create a brand new query, in the selection criteria(Prompts) I have two prompts. one prompt should show current budget year and second prompt should show next budget year, both prompts are mandatory and default.
Can any one please let me know how to obtain current and next budget year??? do I need to write any customer exit or do i need to create a offset???
Two prompts are using same infoobject 0fiscper which is mapped to ECC Table MBEW and field is LFGJA.

create a new selection in the structure, drag the KF and calyear restricted by current year variable . Copy the same selection and insert it as a new selection, go back to the calyear restriction, right clik on the variable. specify variable offset and enter + 1.

This program up / downloads from / to a local dataset
all the components of an ABAP - i.e TEXTS, the entire CUA
including statuses and menus, DYNPROS and source code.
Program documentation and variants are not handled.
INCLUDED programs are automatically handled both on upload
or download. INCLUDE selection can be excluded or generic
e.g only handle INCLUDES starting with ZIN*
INCLUDES within INCLUDES also handled.
The only restriction is on UPLOAD the INCLUDED programs must come
from the same directory as the main program.
On Download of course the ABAP must exist in the library.
Note for LINUX and BATCH users
This program was originally designed as a one off tool for
getting ABAPS etc from a SAP R2 (IBM MVS mainframe system) into
an R3 test system minimising the need for a large amount of
mainframe sysprogs (anybody remember what they were !!) time
and support to say nothing of access problems from TSO /JES2 /
SAP R2. At that time network connections were patchy and the
transport systems largely incompatable and not very reliable.
This program was originally designed as a one off tool for

This causes problems when storing to a local file.
a solution is to change the name to %CUST1%CUST2%ORDER i.e / will
be changed to %. On upload the % should be changed back to /
again. This change still needs to be implemented.
If you don't use the / in the abap name then this is not a problem.
If file to be uploaded is in rel 3 format then names are only 8
bytes long.
program uses 3 datasets per abap
1) abapname.eee source, dynpr logic, texts, CUA stuff
2) abapname.hhh dynpr header
3) abapname.fff dynpro fields.
because of varying lengths and contents 3 data sets are used. The
complexity of combining all these to 1 data set would make the
program far too complex.
NOTE: This version of the program can only be used on
release 4.0 or higher. Once an ABAP has been converted
to rel 4.0 it cannot be converted back to rel 3.0
on a release 3/3.1 system. Release 4 CUA tables
are different. Use release 3 version of this program
for releases 3.0 and 3.1. Available on SAPFANS website.
Note that data to be uploaded must have been previously downloaded
by this program (any version since rel 2.0) - except for Initial
Load -- see end of these comments.
Dynpros and CUA statuses have changed since rel 3.1
This program will handle rel 3.1 format on upload but will
download in rel 4.0 format. To upload 3.1 format specify an 'X'
in the rel3 parameter.
If you have downloaded components in rel 4.0 format and you
want to re-load to a 3.1 system you will have to load
the source via standard upload and re-create dynpros and the CUA
manually.
As names can now be longer than 8 characters you can only
use this program if the SAP front end (SAPGUI) supports
long file names (WIN 95/98 or WIN NT). Windows 3.x will not
work as the underlying DOS system cannot handle long file names.
UPLOAD function and DOS directory.
When an ABAP is selected for UPLOAD then the DOS
directory is read into a table. A file called ABAP.BAT is created,
and down loaded to the 'C' drive and executed.
This file executes a DOS DIR command and pipes the output
into a dataset which is then uploaded into an internal
table on SAP.
Note on running DOS commands from ABAP
The first time this procedure is executed you will see a DOS window
which you will have to close manually. To get round this
use windows explorer to select the file ABAP.BAT and then
right mouse click on the file name. Select the
properties window. From this click the CLOSE on EXIT box. This
will then automatically close the DOS function after it has
executed. (Windows restriction).
The DOS function has not been tested using Windows 2000 so
it might not work. OK on W95,W98,WME and Windows NT (No Thanks)
If INCLUDE programs are wanted on UPLOAD only the specified
directory is searched.
Instead of entering path name manually you can click on
the path parameter. Because of Windows restriction you will
have to select ANY file in the relevant directory.
The path will then be copied on to the selection screen.

How to look at a query string from Nav Bar Find Mode
I would like to view the resultant query string from the Navigavtion Bar's Find Mode. I am using a Master/Detail and am querying with the selection criteria from the detail only.
I am getting unexpected results, and would just like to SEE what the query string IS.

To turn on diagnostic, go to the IDE,
1. Select the project.
2. Do right mouse click and select "Project Settings..."
3. On the Settings dialog, select Configurations/Runner.
4. In the righthand side pane, you should see a textbox for "Java
Options". Please add the following JVM switch:
-Djbo.debugoutput=console
Then, rerun. The run command should include
-Djbo.debugoutput=console as in
"D:\JDev9i\jdk\bin\javaw.exe" -Djbo.debugoutput=console -classpath ...
You should now see a lot more output on the IDE's message window.
This should also include the findmode query that gets built after you hit the execute button from a findmode panel. -

i want an abap query in which select options should be the fields in the tables like:-
field,data element,data type,short desc.
database should be either logical or by joining tables
what i want as output is what ever field we enter the name of the table in that database containg that field should be displayed.
is it possible if yes can u explain how is it possible

BADI Impl. VB_BD_SELECTION to change selection criteria in batch det.
Hye,
I need to use the BADI VB_BD_SELECTION in order to change the selection criteria to be used during batch determination
For this purpose method RESTRICT_CONF_CHARS has been implemented.
But I didn't find any documentation explaining how to manage this one:
as result the characteristic record is deleted from the selection criteria instead of updating it with a new value specified in the structure CT_CONFIG-ATWRT.
For example:
in the strategy we have the value car1 = A.
If BADI is off than the system in production order uses right this criteria to determine the batches.
If BADI is on than we want to define new criteria to find batches with the characteristic car1 = B but the system deletes car1 from selection criteria.

Hi Experts,
I have a data source in which the extraction is using ABAP Query. From RSA2 I got the infoset name. I would like to know if the extraction logic is put inside this infoset. If so how to see the extractor ouput in R/3 and how to debugg the infoset. I can't put break point in infoset. I tried to debugg the extractor through rsa3 and it is not going to the infoset also.
Please help me as I don't have any experience in BI.

Infosets are similar to views created on different tables by linking them with one another. So instead of debugging one should look for how this tables have been linked in tcode SQ01.

Print Layout Designer (PLD) - Displaying Selection Criteria
Does anyone know how to display the selection criteria on a pld form. Specifically, I would like to display the selected 'Item Property' on the Inventory > Inventory Reports > Items List report.
I noticed on the Inventory > Inventory Reports > Inactive Items report that it displays the Date From selection criteria and the document types selected, but I can't figure out how it is doing this. They are Text fields and I don't see any dependencies.

The selection criteria are pre-build to be included on some of the reports and are not on others. If they are not available on the PLD template you could not add them.
