ABAP Webdynpro: Creating a table on webdynpro screen to enter new data.

Hello Experts,
Does anyone know, how to create a table on webdynpro screen that can be used to enter new data in database?
I have tried to create a Table UI element (with Standard Cell Editor as Input Field) but it is "Display only" if there is no data in the table. This means, while you can use it to modify the data if some data already exist, but you cannot use it to enter new data if no data already exist. What I am looking for is something similar to a Table Control (or Step-Loop) functionalty of a traditional (non webdynpro) SAP screen. How to achieve this in Webdynpro for ABAP?

Even if no data is not there, you can pass blank work areas to table, so now table will blank rows where you can enter the data even if previous data is not there.
below is the sample code to get blank rows in table in order to enter data.
DATA LO_ND_N_EDUCATION1 TYPE REF TO IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE.
DATA LO_EL_N_EDUCATION1 TYPE REF TO IF_WD_CONTEXT_ELEMENT.
DATA LS_N_EDUCATION1 TYPE WD_THIS->ELEMENT_N_EDUCATION1.
navigate from <CONTEXT> to <N_EDUCATION1> via lead selection
LO_ND_N_EDUCATION1 = WD_CONTEXT->GET_CHILD_NODE( NAME = WD_THIS->WDCTX_N_EDUCATION1 ).
DATA: ET_DATA TYPE WD_THIS->ELEMENTS_N_EDUCATION1,
EW_DATA TYPE WD_THIS->ELEMENT_N_EDUCATION1.
DO 10 TIMES.
APPEND EW_DATA TO ET_DATA.
ENDDO.
get element via lead selection
LO_EL_N_EDUCATION1 = LO_ND_N_EDUCATION1->GET_ELEMENT( ).
LO_ND_N_EDUCATION1->BIND_TABLE( NEW_ITEMS = ET_DATA SET_INITIAL_ELEMENTS = ABAP_FALSE ).
now table will have 10 rows, here node name is N_education1.

do you use NetWeaver 7.0, Enhancement Pack 2 (or higher)?
Then you can then define an own UI mode class and set it via SET_UI_MODE( ) in IF_FDT_WD_UI_EXECUTION before you call EXECUTE_CATALOG_BROWSER().

GC_PARAMETER_FAVORITES_VIEW). Please be aware of that the configuration is just available to adapt the UI, it does not fulfill the requirements to act as an authority concept. If you do not set the parameter GC_PARAMETER_HIDE_SETTING_DLG of the interface IF_FDT_WD_CONFIGURATION to false, the user is also able to change it via the configuration dialog in the BRF+ workbench.
With the current available BRF plus standard authority concept you can prevent that the user can see the content of objects like applications but you have no influence to prevent the user from seeing UI artifacts like the repository tree. Please consult the documentation to learn more about its capabilities.

Create a table with all the months between two dates

Hi all,
I have a purchase table recording individual purchases. One of the fields is my Date field (date of purchase).
I would like to create a table 'All_months' with two entries ('month_no' and 'month') which will be based on the first and last date in the purchase table. Assuming the first purchase recorded in my purchase table was on the 12th of January 2008, the table should have the following structure:
month_no month
1 12JAN2008
2 12FEB2008
3 12MAR2008
It should continue in this fashion up-to the month where the last purchase was recorded.
I have been struggling with creating the query that would do that for days now and can't find anything when asking Mr Google.

;Do you really need a table like this? Every time you change the data in the purchase table, you won't know if all_months is still accurate or not. You can derive all_months in a sub-query every time you need it, or make all_months a view instead of a table.

How to create a view to display Multiple lines of Text using ABAP WebDynpro

Hi,
I need to create a static view page in ABAP WebDynpro that displays Static text data in multiple paragraphs. I tried to use textview, formatted text, text edit controls by binding the textcontrol to a text object that is created in so10, but the output I am getting is only one line and the character count is limited to 60 to 65 characters.
I would like to know which control needs to be used in ABAP Webdynpro to get multiple lines displayed with text formatting like Paragraph, Indenting and Size.....

Whether Workflow Program Exit works in ABAP WebDynpro

Hi,
I have the custom workflow in which in each task i have given a program exit to update the status into my custom tables.
Now i'm in doing the change in workflow, that it should call the abap webdynpro screen, where the user decisions has to be made.
I'm getting the Workitem id from the UWL and then it lauches the Web Dynpro to choose either Approve, Reject or Change etc along with some other travel expense information.
Now once i complete the web dynpro by calling the method 'SAP_WAPI_WORKITEM_COMPLETE', the particular work item is completed.
I want to ask whether before this FM is called,whether the Program Exit which i have written in the Class method and which is called in the Workflow, whether it triggers or not?

ABAP Webdynpro reports in portal do not use portal theme for some elements

Hi,
I have an ABAP webdynpro screen which uses, amongst other things, a date navigator and drop down lists. All aspects of the portal theme seem to be picked up by the webdynpro except the date navigator and drop down lists. They don't even use the SAP standard ones. They display as plain text using TimesNewRoman font and not the ones specified in the theme. They also do not use any of the colours in the theme. All tables and fields etc are all themed ok. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Could there be a lockal cache issue?
Clear you browser cache via Tools > Internet Options > Delete History
Try again after clearing the cache, if that doesn't help then try downloading the Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar:

Travel management in ABAP-webdynpro(ECC-6.0)

Hi All,
I have a requirement in which the screens of travel management has to be designed in ABAP-webdynpro.
I know that screens are available in ESS-6.0 netweaver component but I want ABAP-webdynpro screens in ECC-6.0.
I was just curious to know if any standard ABAP webdynpro screens are available in ECC-6.0 for travel management.

new_col2 from old_table a;Also there is a pitfall - newly created table will accept column type and precision from the select statement, so further you can be needed to modify columns
if you want to have VARCHAR2 instead of CHAR for example:

How to create a table with editable column values.

Hi everyone,
I think this is very simple but i'm not able to find how to do this. This is my requirement. I need to create a table with n columns and 1 row initially. user should be able to enter data into this table and click of a button should insert data into the data base table. Also there should be a button at the bottom of the table to add 1 row to the table.
I know how to do the insert to database, but can anyone please let me know how to create a table that allows user to enter data and how to create a add 1 row button?

Go through the ToolBox tutorial Create Page & Advanced table section of OAF Guide.
Step 1 - You require to create EO & a VO based on this EO. This EO will be of DataBase table where you want to insert the data.
Step 2 - Create a Advanced table region. (Refer this Adavanced table section for more on this)
Step 3 - Attach this VO in the BC4J component of Adavanced Table region.

Setting only the TO field on the Created on Field in Selection screen to Current date

We have a requirement to Set only the To date in the Created on Field in Selection screen to the Current date, I have tried through Dynamic variable option to set the Date calculation but I am able to see Options to set the Current date to From or From and To Created on Date fields instead of setting the Current date only to To created on Field.
We are in 4.7 and are not supported with user defined variables, Appreciate your inputs on this.

what Text field you want to change.
Since you are working with Dynpros , you have to split the screen in two parts, and one for the Showing differenet fonts and other your normal Dynpro information.
you need to use the Method ADD_TEXT Did you check the program DD_STYLE_TABLE.

Create fragmented table data

5-drop Index.

7-insert another data
