I am doing an ABAP Webdynpro application. Everything is doing fine but not able to see the output. I think some initial setup is required to connect the server or to see the output. Can anybody tell me the setup details.

I have freshly installed BIJAVA 7.0 system and now i wanted to connect
with BW ABAP7.0 system which has been system copied from Qualtiy system.
While running the CTC template for BI Initial Setup for ABAP i am

" Validate Client : BW is already configured for different client. CTC

Please check what are the entry maintained in the table mentioned below.

Change the entry in the above table in SM30 in backend and also check the settings in the portal
System Administration -> System Landscape-> SAP_BW

How to create a view to display Multiple lines of Text using ABAP WebDynpro

Hi,
I need to create a static view page in ABAP WebDynpro that displays Static text data in multiple paragraphs. I tried to use textview, formatted text, text edit controls by binding the textcontrol to a text object that is created in so10, but the output I am getting is only one line and the character count is limited to 60 to 65 characters.
I would like to know which control needs to be used in ABAP Webdynpro to get multiple lines displayed with text formatting like Paragraph, Indenting and Size.....

ABAP Webdynpro as callable object to connect MDM Server

Hi All
if we want create MDM workflows in portal thru GP then we need to create the callable object initially which will integrate the MDM system thru MDM Apis
suppose if we choose the option of taking the ABAP webdynpro as callable object then what is the development efforts/Steps to involve for creating the callable objects.
i hope that we can use the ABAP wendynpro thru MDM ABAP APIs where we can integrate MDM data in ABAP webdynpro application.
can you please list out what is the Aims from enduser level and development level.
Please more details on this??

PI 7.1 initial setup problem

Hi,
While installing PI 7.1 I started the Netweaver initial setup. At step 338 i got an error message as follows:
"Error: ABAP technical system 'PI7 on nwpi71' not found"
Any idea how to I can solve this problem.

Just a quick question... Can you proceed past this step or does your install stop completely if this is not fulfilled?
The reason I ask is that this should either be done automatically by the install or if not then once the install is finished you have the oppotunity to create the technical and business systems as post config steps...

Hi,
To display the Table in the Adobe Form you must create a WebDynpro Context.
In WebDynpro Context, in the main node create another node like A1 with cardinality 0..n and in this node create attributes FIELD1 and FIELD2 and so on.
Now goto method and in that method using code wizard read the node A1.
And use the below code snippet sample in your program, i.e. code this under respective method of the webdynpro.

FIELD2 TYPE SOMETYPE,
END OF TY_TABLE.
*Define Internal Table and work area.

lr_node_info->bind_table( IT_TABLE ).
And now goto Layout and give the TemplateSource and after that it asks for the interface name fill on that and select the relevant context. Now the LiveCycle Designer opens. There goto DataView pallette, there you can see the context of the webdynpro, now you simply drag and drop that table, a table is being created in the Layout Designer.

there is a solution for displaying Smartform output in Java Webdynpro application in this forum. Since i want to start an project in ABAP Webdynpro i need a solution for this technology since i don't want to recreate all the paperwork again using Adobe. Is there any solution available?

this is the solution which i was able to implement using the hints given by Heidi and Thomas. Thank you for the support. With this solution it is possible to reuse oldstyle sapscripts and smartforms in todays environment. Here is the sample code which solves the problem:
In WDA you define for example a pushbutton to start the display of the PDF.

On the Interactive Form, u201CPage1u201D is a main page. u201CTableParentu201D is a SubForm, flowed layout, in accessibility tab set to u201CTableu201D, and is bound to u201C$record.SPFLIu201D.
u201CDATAu201D is a SubForm under "TableParent", Positioned layout, in accessibility tab set to u201CBody Rowu201D, and is bound to u201CDATA[*]u201D.
Carrid and Connid are both Text Fields bound to Carrid and Connid, under "DATA".
I also added the Insert/Remove/Reposition buttons, but deleted the two reposition buttons.
The idea was to be able to add 4-5 Carrid/Connid pairs.
When running this, as configured above, then none of the data entered in the form makes it through to the Elements. If the context is changed to make the Cardinality 1..n, then a single Element is added u2013 but not the remainder.
What needs to be done to get this to work?

None. For all other fields, they are bound to the context, so the transfer is automatic.
These repeating fields are also bound to the context, but it appears that an element needs to be created for every repeating form. How can this be done from the form?

Workflow to UWL to ABAP WebDynpro ( Binding not happening)

Hi All,
I have created Workflow which need to be executed from UWL.
The workitem in UWL will call a ABAP Web Dynpro application for approval Process.
I have registered the my Task in SWFVISU and Maintained the necessary settings (Even Re-registered the new task in UWL ).
When I click the workitem in UWL it successfully calls the ABAP webDynpro application.
But the Parameter WORKITEM id is not transfered from workflow to Web Dynpro Application.
I have created a parameter WORKITEMID in the Workflow and populating it at runtime. But the same is not being passed to WebDynpro Import Parameter.
I see that WORKITEMID is initial at runtime while debugging in WebDynpro Application.
Can you please help me to bind the WORKITEMID from Workflow to WeBsynpro or from UWL to WebDynpro??

Set color alv output cell abap webdynpro

i wanted to set the color of some cells in alv output to red in ABAP WebDynpro.
i am using the salv_wd_table.
any piece of code is appreciated.

If let's say you are build a ALV table to output 'SFLIGHT' table, and you want PLANETYPE '747-400' to be displayed in green, and PLANETYPE '146-200' displayed in red.
Also, let's just say, you already had a context node 'SFLIGHT_NODE' that is mapped to the external node 'DATA' of your ALV.
Now:
1. you need to modify the context node 'SFLIGHT_NODE' to add an attribute -- say 'CELL_COLOR' of type 'WDY_UIE_LIBRARY_ENUM_TYPE' -- to the SFLIGHT_NODE (note, you need to delete 'DICTIONARY structure' that is bind to the 'SFLIGHT_NODE' node, otherwise, you will not be able to create addition attributes)
After, you will have something like this for your context node .
CONTEXT
    --> SFLIGHT_NODE
> CARRID
> CONNID
> FLDATE
> PRICE
> PLANETYPE
> <and any other attributes you had pulled from SFLIGHT)
> CELL_COLOR (TYPE WDY_UIE_LIBRARY_ENUM_TYPE)
2. In your supply function to the 'SFLIGHT_NODE', you now need to supply the data to this newly added attribute:

      stru_sflight_node-cell_color = CL_WD_TABLE_COLUMN=>E_CELL_DESIGN-STANDARD .
    ENDIF.
    modify itab_sflight_node from stru_sflight_node.

** bind all the elements

3. Now, you need to obtain the configuration model of the ALV and config it before display. (say you have an method does this 'init_alv_table_settings', and it is called from your view's wddoinit() method)

Initial Setup Problem - Starting the SLD Registration process

Hi,
we are installing our PI development system. During initial configuration with "NWA --> Configuration Management --> Scenarios --> Configuration Wizard --> Netweaver initial setup" the wizard stands still at Step 68 (of 561) "Starting the SLD Registration process".
We have restarted the system but after starting again the wizard it stands still again.
Same problem on our PI quality assurance system.
PI 7.11 on Windows 2008 R2 with MSSQL 2008 R2.
Steps of installation:
1) Installation of PI 7.11
2) Postworks ABAP (License, TMS, Profiles, rz04, ...)
3) Kernelupdate to 106
4) Updates SPS7 ABAP
5) Updates SPS7 JAVA
6) Run NWA Initial Setup with J2EE_ADMIN

Then possibly the password was set wrong somewhere (since the "-" character is not blocked). Its advisable to check all service users passwords, to prevent other issues like this one to occur. Please check the OSS note "999962 - PI 7.10: Change passwords of PI service users" for more information on this.
