About download file

Question

I have a jsp file, which shows some links to pdf files. but the IE will fire the application to open the pdf files, not to give a savefile dialog. How could i realize that?

Actually you have to create script that changes default mime-type for that pdf (also you can change it globaly if it is not an issue).
If you do it from the program, there is a trick with IE - you have to change it to some mime-type which IE saves without checking document's content.
So you will have servlet like this -
response.setHeader("Content-Type", "application/x-msdownload");
response.addHeader("Content-disposition", "attachment;filename=some.pdf");
InputStream is = new FileInputStream("some.pdf");
OutputStream os = response.getOutputStream();
byte arr[] = new byte[4096];
int i = 0;
while ((i = is.read(arr)) != -1) {
os.write(arr, 0, i);
os.flush();
