About file download

hi, Can i show the link in the table?When i click it, i can down load the files.
Thanks very much!

Hi
You can show the link in your table by the following way
Assume that you have context binded to view container
1) in outline view
2) Right Click on "ROOT UI ELEMENT CONTAINER"
3) Apply Template
4) Select Table from the template list
5) select the required columns from the Context
6)* In the "Edit the properties of table colums" step
      In the "Editor" section Select "LinktoURL " option from the drop down list box (<b>But you can have only BOOLEAN variable to use this option</b> no other data type is allowed ie integer,string as linktoURL)
7) Finish

    Otherwise you can simply follow this code for file download
    Use the code like this.
    1) Create the button and bind the action for it.
    2)then write this code in the action.
    3) do not write any thing in the init method.
    try {
    final byte[] content = this.getByteArrayFromResourcePath("C:
    xyz.properties");
    final IWDCachedWebResource resource = WDWebResource.getWebResource(content, WDWebResourceType.UNKNOWN);
    try {
    final IWDWindow window = wdComponentAPI.getWindowManager().createExternalWindow(resource.getAbsoluteURL(), "WD_Filedownload", false);
    window.open();
    catch(Exception e)
    wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportException(new WDNonFatalException(e), false);
    5) writr the method getByteArrayFromResourcePath
    //@@begin others
    private byte[] getByteArrayFromResourcePath(String resourcePath)
    throws FileNotFoundException, IOException {
    FileInputStream in = new FileInputStream(new File(resourcePath));
    ByteArrayOutputStream out = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    int len;
    byte[] part = new byte[10 * 1024];
    while ((len = in.read(part)) != -1) {
    out.write(part, 0, len);
    in.close();
    return out.toByteArray();
    //end
    Similarly for file upload
    Similarly for upload in to server path also do the same
    IWDAttributeInfo attInfo =
    wdContext.getNodeInfo().getAttribute("upload");
    binaryType =
    (IWDModifiableBinaryType) attInfo.getModifiableSimpleType();
    uploadedName = binaryType.getFileName();
    File filename =new File("
    <server name>
    <folder name>
    "+uploadedName ); );
    try {
    FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(filename);
    out.write(b);
    out.close();
    } catch (FileNotFoundException e) {

  • About "File Download" pupup message.

    Hi Everyone,
    I face a symptom about file download popup message.
    1706024 - WebIntelligence Java Report Panel "save to my computer as/Excel" workflow has different behavior after FixPack3.6 or Service Pack 4 is installed
    In the KBA, it is noted that [An "Open, Save, Cancel" window will appear, similar to pre-Fixpack3.6/Service Pack 4 patches, however this window will be sent by the Java Report Panel and not the browser as it was previously.]
    I  kown in prior of  FP3.6, the popup message is send by browser, and after the version of FP4.3, the popup message is send by  java report panel.
    Is thereany method that can set the popup message display or not by borwser or cmc settings.
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    ZhouHong

    Hello,
    As per KBA 1706024 - WebIntelligence Java Report Panel "save to my computer
    as/Excel" workflow has different behavior after FixPack3.6 or Service Pack 4 is
    installed which reports that this new behavior is declared by product group as by design
    and introduced in later patches. You still be able to request for integrating the old behavior
    and even have a preference setting to switch between the two behaviors by logging an Enhancement
    request at idea place portal( See the KBA 1515837 - How To: Enhancement Request Process - "Idea Place" ).
    Thanks and Regards,

  • I am having problems downloading files from the web. After a number of files are downloaded, the system become sluggish, and then hangs. I traced the problem to the download history file: downloads.sqlite.

    After downloading a number of 1.0 MB files, the system became very sluggish, and I started to get lots of (Not Responding) messages when trying to download or just use Firefox for browsing. Using Performance Monitor, I observed that the Firefox executable was growing larger and larger - up to as large as 1.2 GB on a system with 2.0 GB memory. Page faults were off the chart.
    Looking for a similar problem, I found one that discussed the downloads.sqlite file becoming corrupted. I first noticed that this file was over 600 MB in size, so I deleted it. I then downloaded additional files, and observed that the new downloads.sqlite file would increase in size by about 150% of the size of each file that was downloaded. Once it would get up to 500 MB in size, the system started slowing down again.
    I don't know the purpose of this file, but it appears that it keeps a full copy of every file downloaded, which may be the function of a download history file, but it does not seem correct that the file should grow in size without limit, and thus impact the system.
    I would also appear that the Firefox executable is trying to read the entire contents of this file each time a new file is downloaded, which does not seem right.
    Temporary fix is to periodically delete the downloads.sqlite file when it gets too large and starts impacting performance.. Apparently it is smart enough to open a new file if the old one is not found. I am not sure what the correct behavior for this file should be. Apparently is does not re-initialize when a new Firefox session is initiated.
    Please feel free to contact me if more information is desired. I'm not sure what details you might need to troubleshoot this type of problem.

    Hi Katy, and a warm welcome to the forums!
    What is the exact name of the file?
    Is it aim.bin?
    Which requires either Stuffit Expander, or the Unarchiver to deflate.

  • Mulitple File Downloads in AIR

    ** EDIT **
    Just tested. I was throttling the downloads to 28kbps. Think
    there must be a timeout on the file functions, as when it was reset
    without throttling, the file downloaded 100%. Is there a way to
    reset/remove a timeout on a URLStream?
    Good morning all.
    I'm having trouble with a file download component I've
    written. It worked fine debugging, but when testing an installed
    version of the application, there seems to be a problem with the
    loop, and files not completely downloading.
    I have tested, and one file in the loop is writing to the
    directory (event.complete action) at about 45%.
    How can I check if the total bytes downloaded is the same as
    total available, and if not, force it to carry on the download for
    that particular item?
    The code for the page is below:
    public function Update():void {
    if(appModel.fileArrCol.length > 0) {
    var urlReq:URLRequest = new
    URLRequest(appModel.fileArrCol[0][1].toString());
    trace(urlReq.url);
    urlStream = new URLStream();
    urlStream.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR,
    onStreamError);
    urlStream.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS,
    progressHandler);
    urlStream.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,
    fileTransferHandler);
    urlStream.load(urlReq);
    private function fileTransferHandler(event:Event):void {
    urlStream.readBytes(fileData, 0, urlStream.bytesAvailable);
    var fileLoc:String = appModel.fileArrCol[0][2].toString() +
    appModel.fileArrCol[0][0].toString();
    var file:File =
    File.applicationStorageDirectory.resolvePath(fileLoc);
    var fileStream:FileStream = new FileStream();
    fileStream.addEventListener(Event.CLOSE, fileClosed);
    fileStream.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR,
    onStreamError);
    fileStream.openAsync(file, FileMode.WRITE);
    fileStream.writeBytes(fileData, 0, fileData.length);
    fileStream.close();
    trace("File " + appModel.fileArrCol.length + ": " +
    appModel.fileArrCol[0][0].toString());
    private function onStreamError(event:IOErrorEvent):void{
    //Alert.show("Invalid Username or Password!","Warning");
    this.showCloseButton =true;
    btnUpdate.visible = true;
    trace(event.text);
    private function progressHandler(event:ProgressEvent):void {
    /* bar.setProgress( Number(event.bytesLoaded /
    event.bytesTotal), 1 ); */
    bar.setProgress(event.bytesLoaded,event.bytesTotal);
    progLabel.text = "Downloading " +
    Math.round(event.bytesLoaded / 1024) + " kb of " +
    Math.round(event.bytesTotal / 1024) + " kb " +
    (appModel.fileArr.length - 1) + " files remaining";
    private function fileClosed(event:Event):void {
    // run a progress bar or sqlite table update here
    appModel.fileArrCol.removeItemAt(0);
    if (appModel.fileArrCol.length > 0){
    Update();
    } else {
    progLabel.text = "Uploads Complete";
    var thisServerVersion:String =
    appModel.fileDownloadServerVersion;
    var thisDescription:String =
    appModel.fileDownloadDescription;
    var thisDownloadDate:String = appModel.fileDownloadDate;
    // store the file download details within the database table
    if(appModel.checkFileDownloadHistory(thisServerVersion).valueOf()
    > 0) {
    // a record matches the version number in the xml. do
    nothing
    } else {
    appModel.storeFileDownloadHistory(thisServerVersion,thisDescription,thisDownloadDate);
    // close the box down
    PopUpManager.removePopUp(this)
    public function init():void{
    btnUpdate.visible = false;
    this.showCloseButton = true;
    if (appModel.urlAvailable){
    Update();
    }else{
    Alert.show("No Network Connection Detected","Message");
    this.showCloseButton =true;
    btnUpdate.visible = true;
    public function titleWindow_close(evt:CloseEvent):void {
    PopUpManager.removePopUp(this)
    The application reads the number of files from an xml file on
    the server. That works fine, but I think the loop is wrong. In
    debug, it traces the file names without a problem
    Please please please can someone help me? I need to get this
    sorted and resolved by this lunchtime.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Matt

    # Question
    It's not just Download Helper v4.8.3, it's also RealPlayer: the download display window shows .mp3 files downloading, but nothing shows in the folder when it is done downloading.
    Also in the '''Properties''' window of Windows Explorer I '''no longer have the Details tab''', so I can't update my mp3 files with Artist, Album, Genre, etc. But the details tab does show up when I access it thru Windows Explorer.
    I ran the AVG rescue disc an no viruses found. Now on '''FF3.6.15''' '''RealPlayer''' shows when I right click but then '''immediately disappears and an icon appears in the System Tray''', but as soon '''as I hover my mouse over it it disappears'''.
    Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
    How can I get this fixed? I have time-sensitive mp3s that I won't have access to anymore if I don't get this resolved in a hurry. (no pressure on you, I'm the one that's stressed about this) Can you help? Thanks so much for responding to this '''inquiry.''''''bold text'''

  • Peformance Turning for File Download / Upload with Enabled SharePoint Audit

    Greetings all, may I ask your help for Peformance Issues?
    Background:
    I tried to create a ASP.NET Web Page to download/upload/list SharePoint file and deployed to IIS website in same application server (will NOT use web part as some users are NOT allowed to direct access confidential workspace)
    Besides, for Audit Log record purpose, the page will impersonate (without password) the logged in user:
    SPUserToken userToken = web.AllUsers[user].UserToken;
    SPSite s = new SPSite(siteStr, userToken);
    For File Listing, the web service can provide fast response, and we are using service A/C for connection (as no auting for listing, but require audit for file download upload)
    Several implemeation options tested for File Downloiad / Upload, but issues occured and finding listed below:
    Issues
    1) SharePoint Object Model
    When I open Site (using new SPSite), it's too slow to respond. (under 1s for all operations, but require 10~50s for open SPSIte. e.g.
    using(SPSite s = new SPSite(siteStr) //50s
    How can I download/upload file without open SPSite object (using SharePoint object model, but user token should be kept to allow SHarePoint identifiy user actions. e.g. Updated by Tom, NOT system administrator)?
    2) SharePoint default web service
    For file download, I tried to use SharePoint Web Service for download file, it's quick but how can SharePoint record the audit log to downloaded user, and not service A/C? ( e.g. View by Tom, NOT system administrator)
    With Windows SSO solution, please note system should NOT prompt to ask user password for use impersonation
    3) HTTP Request API (for file download)
    As mentioned in point 2, if the system cannot get password from user, SharePoint also recorded service A/C in audit log... ><
    Thank you for your kine attention.

    Thank you for prompt response, please find my reply with Underline:
    Hi,
    Maybe I'm not quite clear about the architecture you have now.
    Is your asp.net application deployed in separate IIS site but in the same physical server as SharePoint?
    Yes
    "we are using service A/C for connection", can you please explain the 'A/C'?
    Domain User, Local Admin and also SharePoint Service Admin A/C
    Opening SPSite is relatively slower but shouldn't take 50 sec. However it depends on your server hardware configuration. You should meet the minimum hardware requirements for SharePoint.
    Assigned double resources based on minimum hardware requirements.
    For details, 50s is the load test result. But for other SharePoint operation, it takes around/under 3s reponse time.
    Are you using SharePoint Audit log? Exactly If so then why don't you just put the hyperlink to the documents in your asp.net page. User maybe have to login once in SharePoint site but
    it depends on your security architecture. For example if both of your sites in local intranet and you are using windows integrated authentication, SSO will work automatically  User is NOT allowed
    to access SharePoint site/server (not implemented for sepreate server yet, as performance issues occured for
    separate site in same server)  directly from Internet, the
    middle server with web interface created for user request.
    Whatever I understands gives me the feeling that you download the file using HTTPWebRequest C# class. However regarding security it depends on how authentication is setup in asp.net web site and in sharepoint. If both site uses windows integrated security
    and they are in the same server, you can use the following code snippet:
    using (WebClient webClient = new WebClient())
    webClient.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultNetworkCredentials;
    webClient.DownloadFile("file ur in sharepoint", "download directory");
    Thanks, will try and reply later
    But still, as I've mentioned, not quite clear about the whole architecture.
    A) Request Handling
    1) User use browser to request file listing and/or download file (hereafter called: File Download Request) from custom ASP.NET page (Let's say In Server 1, IIS 1)
    2) ASP.NET page  or File Handler ashx (Server 1, IIS 1) call custom web service, SharePoint deault/OOTB web service or using SharePoint Object Model to access SharePoint Document Library (in Server 1,
    IIS 2)
    3) Both SharePoint and IIS Web Site
    (Server 1, IIS 1 & IIS2) using the same service A/C
    4) The web service , File Handler return file obeject to IIS1
    5) IIS 1 reply File Download Request to user
    B) Application Architecture (In testing environment)
    1) no load balancing
    2) 1 DB server (Server 2)
    3) 1 Application Server (with IIS 1 - ASP.NET, IIS 2, SharePoint Web Site with default SharePoint Web Service, IIS 3 SharePoint Admin Site & IIS 4 Custom SharePoint Web Service)
    4) Sepreate AD Server (Server 3)

  • Jar files downloaded from SkyDrive are being renamed to jar.zip files

    I have cut and pasted the following series of exchanges from when I posted the problem onto SkyDrive's support forum. I hope that someone might be able to propose a better solution to the problem that I have. Thanks for your help.
    MDSms asked on
    Uploaded jar files convert to jar.zip files when downloaded from SkyDrive
    I have uploaded an executable jar file to SkyDrive. (I will call this FILE.jar). The file is intact and indicates that it is a jar file type when the file is viewed by Properties within Skydrive. However, when I download (or others download through a share link) the file, it is being saved onto the local computer's download file with .zip appended to the file name (FILE.jar.zip). The downloaded file can be renamed to remove the .zip appendage and subsequently run successfully. However the folder options for the folder where the downloaded file resides must be changed for disable "Hide known file extensions" prior to being able to remove the .zip appendage. While I have figured out the workaround for this problem, this manual renaming procedure is entirely too cumbersome as a solution for sharing this file with others. How can I prevent or disable the FILE.jar file from being renamed to FILE.jar.zip when it is downloaded from SkyDrive?

    The file was uploaded by first logging onto my SkyDrive account using Windows 7 Pro and Firefox browser, then a new folder in my account was created without sharing privileges, then the folder was opened and the FILE.jar was uploaded into the folder using the "Upload" option on skydrive account menu. Sharing privileges for FILE.jar were then created (view only), and the shortened url link was sent to the individuals that I was trying to share the file with. was then turned on. When these people use the link to download the file, it is being saved as FILE.jar.zip.
    When I try to download the file through the skydrive account download option, it is being saved onto my computer as FILE.jar.zip and this occurs when I try to download the file while signed into my skydrive account as well as when I am not signed into my skydrive account (using the shared file link).
    This PNG shows the information provided by clicking on the download icon (down arrow) within the Firefox browser; note that the file was downloaded as FILE.jar.zip and that the source was live.com. When I use Windows Explorer to look at the same file within the Download folder itself, examining the file's properties details also shows that it is being saved as FILE.jar.zip and is of the file type compressed zip folder.
    This PNG shows the information displayed to me from my skydrive account when I view the originally uploaded file's properties; note that the information shows that the file is a jar file type.
    When I utilize Internet Explorer 9 to access the file, FILE.jar is being downloaded onto my computer as a jar file type. This PNG shows the information provided by Tools/View Downloads within the IE9 browser. Note that in this instance, the information indicates that the file is being downloaded from yzudea.blu.livefilestore.com.
    It appears to me that the problem (the FILE.jar file being renamed to FILE.jar.zip) arises from the fact that a jar file downloaded from skydrive using firefox, is being sent from live.com whereas a jar file downloaded from skydrive using IE9 is being sent from yzudea.blu.livefilestore.com.
    I want to make sure that a person receiving a share link from me for FILE.jar is able to download it without modification to the file name regardless of which browser is being using to access the link. How can I make sure that this occurs?
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi MDSms,
    I appreciate you for providing as much information as you can about the issue, as well as for uploading screenshots on what you see from the downloaded file. About your initial concern wherein the file gets renamed with .zip after the original file extension, this is solely dependent on the browser that you are using since they have a different safety/security measure that needs to be implemented.
    Moreover, you may see the file servers live.com and yzudea.blu.livefilestore.com to be different with one another, but they actually are sent from the same SkyDrive server. This in turn, depends on the web browser where the file is being downloaded as well. The live.com file where it was downloaded from Firefox simply masks its original server yzudea.blu.livefilestore.com.
    As for your last query about your recipients downloading the file without the hassle of renaming it from a .zip file, you can simply tell them to download it through Internet Explorer.
    Should you have other queries or additional information that might help in our investigation, I highly encourage you to post them here.
    Regards,
    Michelle

    Michelle,
    Thanks for your reply. Yes, I could simply tell them to download the file through Internet Explorer, but is there another solution or workaround to the problem I have described here? Am I being punished with the curse of this problem simply because I (or the individuals with which I wish to share FILE.jar with) choose to use Firefox instead of IE? Will the use of any other browser instead of IE (Chrome, Safari, etc., etc.) still result in the same problem?
    You stated that it is "solely dependent on the browser that you are using since they have a different safety/security measure that needs to be implemented"........could the problem be overcome by designating one or both of the file server addresses as Trusted Sites within the browser options setting?
    I look forward to your response. Thanks in advance.

    Hi MDSms,
    We understand your concern. Since the issue does not occur in Internet Explorer, it has something to do with Firefox's security feature. You might want to verify this concern by contacting Firefox support.
    Hope this helps. Let us know if we can further assist you with SkyDrive.
    Thanks,
    Melanie Joy

    Try to delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions.

  • Jar Files download Slow in IE but not FireFox

    We have an application (PTC Windchill) that uses jar files within the application. These jar files contain our customizations and get downloaded to the users when they require certain functionality within the application. Each time we update our build (update the customizations) new jar files are required to be downloaded to the client. Recently, we have seen an increase in the number of clients that the downloads take an extremely long time. The jar files add up to about 70mb and on a machine that we consider to be working correctly, this takes less than a minute. On some machines, it takes as long as 20 minutes. We are unable to determine what the difference is between computers (both have the same version of JRE, OS, IE and updates etc.). What is interesting, is the files download quickly on FireFox, every time on every machine. We initially thought this was an IE issue, but we can't pin point it. Also, the files transfer fine through the OS so we don't believe it is network or NIC related. This started out as just a few computers but seems to be growing. We have found upgrading to Apache 2.x.x from 1.3.27 fixes the problem, but breaks something else in our application, therefor is not a solution. This would appear to be an IE and Apache compatibility issue, but why it works with some clients and not others, puzzles us. I was hoping someone out there may have some ideas of what the issue is. It is probably something simple, but not simple to find. Any help is much appreaciated.
    Thanks,

    It's probably an IE problem.
    The installed JREs on the client machines have no relationship with downloading via a browser.
    It works fine with firefox because this latter is an open source and frequently upgraded. There are lot of firefox plugins and extensions for downloading tasks: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=download&status=Array
    You can allocate more resources for your server and use a multi-thread donwload servlets but it will not resolve the problems of the client side IE browser.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Try deleting the problematic file (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
    You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.

  • Web Pages and file download corruption Cisco VPN

    We have a problem our users are having. Clients are having problems using Cisco 5.06 VPN along with Internet Explorer. Quite often web pages hang or load incorrectly or unformatted. Also links to documents or downloads are downloaded unusable (i.e. a PDF file that is corrupt). If you refresh the page or retry the download it will work eventually. None of these problems exist while they are directly on the corporate network. (Win7 32-bit OS)
    Our standard corporate VPN installation package uses Cisco VPN 5.0.06.0160 which installs version 3.22.4.17992 of DNE (Deterministic Network Enhancer), It also installs the DNE Update version 4.9.1.1837. This combination works correctly in our standard corporate build. The problem exists in two of non-standard builds on a couple different hardware models.
    If I uninstall the DNE update and the VPN client and just install the VPN client by itself without the DNE Update (which leaves the client at 3.22.4.17992 for DNE) the problem goes away and the web pages load correctly and the files download properly.
    I have tried the latest DNE, and updates to the NIC driver without success. Any suggestions or logic to why the newer versions of DNE will not work. The hardware we are using are high end HP and Dell Mobile workstations that are only about a year old. We have a problem our users are having. I would leave it alone for the next few days and do not keep restarting the Homehub. This will cause DLM (Dynamic Line Management) to kick in and lower your speeds because it will interpret the restarts as a fault. It is normal for the speeds to fluctuate during the training period. If things do not improve after the ten day training period post back for more advice.

  • Controling the 'name' of a file download

    function openPDFWordTwo(thisObj,pdfURL){

    formTitle = document.getElementById(formTitleId).value;

       return false;Here is my code that opens the popup window for my page to download a word document by JavaScript. Right now it downloads the correct file but names it servername.doc. I would like to change it to formTitle.doc. Is there a way I could do that through code or is it server style?
    I was looking at HTTP responses but I haven't figured out exactly how they work yet. Any good tutorials?
    Cheers

    I realize this, I googled read about it but all the examples I have found completely redo the process, html uploading the file etc. I have no idea what you're talking about. HTML is just a markup language. With regard to file uploading it only provides you a <form> and a <input type="file"> to represent a file chooser and with regard to file downloading it only provides you an <a> element to represent a download link or a <form> and <button> element to represent a download button. It has completely no capabilities to process a file upload or download. It is the server side code which does that, Java/JSP/Servlet for example.
    My question was if there is a way to keep my html keep the way the file is accessed and changing the name.My answer was under each: if you want to try this with JavaScript, please realize that JavaScript != Java. With other words, you're here at a Java forum at the wrong place. At any way, I don't see why you insist to do this in JavaScript. It's a client side scripting language.

  • File downloads not working most of the time

    [I originally included this problem in another post; I should know better. I'm posting it separately here in hopes of getting some feedback about this other issue I'm having.]
    When I click on a link on a Web page to download a file (maybe the latest version of Firefox), the Save dialog that appears almost always displays the file name without the extension. For example, I just tried downloading the Firefox installer. Instead of displaying the name as "Firefox Setup 13.0.1.exe", it displayed "Firefox Setup 13.0.1". The file type is listed as "binary file". Every once in a while (maybe one in ten tries), if I quit and relaunch Firefox, immediately return to the download page, and click the file link again, the file name and file type will appear correctly. Almost always, I have to resort to using some other browser to download the file.
    I've tried deleting the browser cache; resetting Firefox from the about:support page; installing a new copy by downloading the installer file from the Mozilla site. None of this has helped.
    The thing that mystifies me the most is the fact that, maybe 10% of the time, the file download succeeds. This (the file download succeeding) seems to happen only immediately after I launch the browser.
    Any ideas?
    --Larry

    Thanks for the suggestion. I followed the instructions and deleted the MimeTypes.rdf file, then relaunched Firefox. Unfortunately, nothing changed.
    I did notice something strange and possibly informative, however: When I tried to download the Firefox installer, the file once again failed to download. The Downloads window that pops up when I download a file gave the full file name, including the ".exe", and displayed "Canceled - mozilla.net". It appears that the file type isn't lost after all, but the download is canceled.
    Any idea what could cause this?
