About Human Task Test

I deployed a human task workflow at SOA suite 10.1.3.1.0 and test it by BPELConsole. But the human task was auto-completed by bpeladmin. I cannot test it by worklist application. Why? Is there a configuration for the bpel test?

If you look in the audit trail, what is the response from the human workflow task? There should also be a task outcome there. Possibly errored, then there should also be an error in the audit trail.

  • Error authentication user in WCS about Human Tasks

    Hi All,
    We developed a BPM workflow and 4 human task(HT) in ADF and using WCS for accessing the tasks of the human workflow.
    We are working using the virtual machine soabpm-vm 11.1.1.6 ps5, downloaded by the Oracle Web Site.
    I created a space in WCS, based on the BPM-Workspace templace present in the WCS.
    I was able to execute the process and the HT without any problem.
    I am adding security to all the 4 HT following the indication about ADF security, using the ADF wizard in jdeveloper.(see Oracle WebCenter 11g Handbook chapter 18, page 421)
    After implementing the following choices:
    1)ADF Authentication and Authorization
    2)HTTP Client Authentication
    3)No Automatict Grants
    4)Either for WebPAge, Either for taskflow i have enabled the view privileges for viewing the page or executing the task flow.
    5) I linked the valid-users with a groups in my realm(AdmiServer)
    I tested all the security implemented with BPM worspace application (https://hostname:7002/bpm/workspace)  and it is working correctly.
    If i test it within webCenterSpace the HT are not working. When i click on the HT i got the following error:
    Error 401  Unauthorized
    The request requires user authentication. The response MUST include a WWW-Authenticate header field (section 14.46) containing a challenge applicable to the requested resource. The client MAY repeat the request with a suitable Authorization header field (section 14.8). If the request already included Authorization credentials, then the 401 response indicates that authorization has been refused for those credentials. If the 401 response contains the same challenge as the prior response, and the user agent has already attempted authentication at least once, then the user SHOULD be presented the entity that was given in the response, since that entity MAY include relevant diagnostic information. HTTP access authentication is explained in section 11.
    This is what is happening:
    I  logged in into WebCenterSpace with the user credentials (Username pwd). I am correctly authorized and identified.
    I later click on the HT and the user is not propagate as the logs say that anonymous user try to access to the HT.
    Why there is this different behavior between WCS and BPM worspace application?
    Can i have same indication about what to do in order to get the HT working in the WCS?

    Hi Praveen,
    To fix this issue, you need to change the Identity of your website's Application Pool to use the
    NetworkService account (or the less secure LocalSystem account).  By default, IIS7 seems to set the Application Pools Identity to 'ApplicationPoolIdentity' instead of NetworkService or LocalSystem.
    Here's a step-by-step guide for determining your websites Application Pool, then changing its Process Model Idenitty in IIS7:
    1.Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manger.
    2.In the Connections sidebar, drill down into Default Web Site and click on your website.
    3.Now in the Actions sidebar (on right side), click on Advance Settings... In the popup box, under General you will see your Application Pool listed for your website (in my case the app pool is: ASP.NET V4.0).
    4.Click Cancel...  If you choose, you can change the Application Pool here, but for the sake of this example we just wanted to find out what the website's App Pool was.
    Then change the app pool's (Process Model) Identity to 'NetworkService', the steps are showed as below:
    1.Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manger.
    2.In the Connections sidebar, click on Application Pools.
    3.Now right-click on theApplication Pool that your website is using (in this case my site is using the ASP.NET v4.0 application pool), and select Advanced Settings... from the menu.
    4.In the Advanced Settings pop-up box, locate the Process Model -> Identity section and click on the Application Pool Identity.
    5.In the Application Pool Identity pop-up box, change the Built-in account to NetworkService (or if you want LocalSystem), then click OK, and click OK again to save your Advanced Settings changes.
    Hope this helps.

  • Query about Human task (Management Chain)

    hi'
    I am designing work flow in which Human task is there, where I need a group of users to approve
    one after the other based on there seniority.
    my question is:
    1.) How to determine the seniority, if this is in OID how to do this.
    2.) I mentioned 3 users in management chain "A", "B", "C" the request goes to them
    and then in the work list if I log in to any one of them it ask for "Claim" in stead of approve/ reject
    once I do claim for that user, then approve/reject comes in and and after selecting approve/ reject
    the request goes away from all 3 users.
    I am checking the developers guide for Oracle BPEL, it says some thng else but some thing else is happening.
    please advice

    Hi, please make sure that you select Users not Groups under the option 'Requires sequential approval of all partcipants below'. While designing the humantask, under 'Assignment and routing policy' --> type = Sequential List Of Approvers;
    Label=Your_Label
    Requires sequential approval of all participants below: This has two options:By Name, By expression.
    The option By Name has two options: Users, and Groups.
    Here make sure you select 'Users'.
    Then assign all the users in sequence you want them to approve. Then when you login the worklist application, you would see Approve/Reject.
    If the first/current approver approves, then only second/next approver in sequence can see/approve/reject.

  • Query about Human task (Sequential list of approvers)

    hi'
    I am designing work flow with Human task, with "Sequential list of approvers",
    where I have given "A", "B", "C" users for approval, it goes for approval in sequence
    i.e. 1st to "A" when "A" approves it goes to "B" when "B" approves it goes to "C"
    the issue is if "B" is rejecting it still goes to "C".
    According to to Develpers guide it should not go further.

  • Human Task & Notification Services

    Hi! i have a little question about Human Task and Notification Services.
    I have a Human Task with an outcome OK/CANCEL actions, reading the 10.1.3 Dev Guide chapter 15 about notification services, i found an excellent feature i want to use, in the task definition if i mark the "make email messages actionables" checkbox, the user assignee to the task will receive an email with the two outcoume options of the task, the OK/CANCEL already defined, i need to change the wf_config.xml to define <actionableEmailAccountName> tag to configure this functionality, but there is no documentation about how to configure this file, and checking the checkbox there is no changes on the mail message sent to the user, checking or not the option i always get the same email with two attachments, one with a link to the worklist and another one with the payload of the task.
    How can i configure the mail notification to enable the links to my outcome actions?
    any help, advice and guide is welcome!!!
    best regards and blesses!

  • BPEL Test waits forever to receive callback from human task service

    Hi,
    I've created a test (CreditCardInvalidTest.xml) to test a bpel process (testbpel.bpel) which contains a call to a human task service. The problem is when the test executes it waits forever to receive the response message from the human task service but clearly i've emulated it! Would appreciate help.
    I've attached both files and highlighted the relevant sections. Thanks.

    RaviKiran,
    I agree that the explanation oracle provided in the attach link, is a bit confusing. The main goal there is to describe the behavior of processes, when there is a need to combine, or split the transactions within those processes (or in some cases the processes themselves).
    The thing is - The default transaction for a synchronous process is requiresNew. That was until version 11.1.1.6. On this last version, you are asking to enter a Transaction parameter when creating a new synchronous bpel process. The default value being prompt is required and that's what causing the problem – You automatically accept the default.
    The assumption is, that developing bpel processes, should come with understanding of all those behaviors.
    The problem for my understanding is that some of those behaviors were not so cleared until now.

  • Test waits forever for a callback from a human task

    Hi,
    I've create a test to test a BPEL process. Now within the BPEL process there is a call to a human task service. I've emulated the task initiation message which is fine. I also tried to emulate the receive message from the human task service but during the test execution, the test waits forever to receive the callback from the human task service, even though i've specified the return message. Would appreciate help with this! I've posted my testbpel.bpel and the test case (CreditCardInvalidTest.xml) below. For both these files I've highlighted in bold the relevant bits of code that's giving me problems. Thanks

    Hi hi, on a hunch I previewed the page in the browser, and copy pasted the faces/untitled1 portion of the URL there and pasted on the http://<server_address>:8001/BasicAPPDemo_Root therefore ending with http://<server_address>:8001/BasicAPPDemo_Root/faces/untitled1 and lo and behold I saw the little text box saying "Hello World" ;D
    So with that i escalated, switched to the application where the page from BPM was located, deployed it and did the same trick.
    But it borked it gave this error:
    JBO-29115 Unable to construct the error message due to error java.lang.NullPointerException. Use the exception stack trace and error code to investigate the root cause of this exception. Root cause error code is JBO-.
    I figured that the Default generation could be faulty so i created a new page and only recycled the data controls, created everything in read mode, just to test and deployed, when i tested, i was optimistic as the 1st tab didn't had any error (also does not have anything related to the HumanTask, even the data controls) the problem was in the other tabs as I show here.
    Many thanks sirs, and sorry for wasting thy time.

  • In human task, dynamically assign group doesn't work

    Oracle SOA 11.1.1.4
    My bpel process invokes a human task.
    On the human task Assignment tab, I assigned 3 users (by name), 1 group (by expression).
    The group is configured in LDAP
    When I tested the bpel process, I entered the group and other data required.
    From the worklist app, I see the task listed. It is assigned to the 3 users, but not the dynamically passed-in group.
    From the Audit trail, I saw all data I entered (include the group). Everything seems correct, but I still can’t make the dynamically-pass-group work.
    If I assign the group by name in human task, it works fine.
    The problem is: dynamically assign group doesn't work.
    Please kindly advice.

    Yes, it is possible assign a group as participant of some human task, passing the group name as parameter.
    I have tested just now.
    It works pretty well in SOA 11.1.1.4 (BPEL or BPM).
    Make sure add a data parameter in your human task definition and pass a valid group name to it.
    At the Assignment tab, in the participants' list, add a group, data type by expression, and set the value to the right xpath expression to the corresponding parameter.
    For example: /task:task/task:payload/task:group
    If it is not working look the SOA log files, probably you'll find some information about the error there. Maybe there is some problem with your jazn.com configuration.
    You can also test if there is something wrong related to the group name, trying to transfer some task to the same group by the worklist.

  • Complete Task with Payload Problem  -- no Human Task Drop Handler

    I'm reading section 26.4.1 of Developer’s Guide for Oracle SOA Suite 11g Release 1 (11.1.1) E10224-01 where it refers to figure 26-5 Human Task Drop Handler for Creating the Task Display Form of section 26.4 Creating a Task Display Form.
    I've generated taskDetails1.jspx. I highlight Task as in the figure and right click in askDetails1.jspx (design tab) but I don't get a Create JSF page dialog as in the figure.
    I get a dialog with Insert Before Show Detail Spacer ... etc (no Create /Human Task/Complete Task with payload etc)
    Do I need to position within a particular element ? or is this a bug ? wrongly documented?

    Hi Diana, thanks for your reply.
    You're probably right about 2 different error messages.
    To the 1st one: I'm sure that status task is Assigned (to me). I received an email and I also reply on that email.
    To error log: I found out that error log appears when I enable email endpoint on Complete Task service. But I managed to solve this problem. I set wrong user. Now I have here the same user as is written in login-config.xml so log seems to be ok.
    So I created new task and tried to complete it via email. Now I receive email with another error:
    LiveCycle ES has tried to process your request and encountered the following error:
    com.adobe.idp.dsc.provider.service.email.impl.EmailProviderException: Error getting user context
    This response to your original email
    Subject:RE:Task Assignment - Process: WorkFlowClient/Test. Task 92 has been assigned to you.
    Date Sent:Thursday, October 27, 2011 3:05 PM
    Body:Complete
    DO-NOT-DELETE: MTIxMSExNjAzITIwMTE=!
    Attachments:
    And to the last point: email endpoint is set up with TestPOP3@mydomain and user receiving email has jpetrla@mydomain. I use Lotus Notes as email client, I tried another account with gmail, but the result was same.
    Now I really don't know to do...

  • 11g Human Task; problem with Auto-Generate Task Form

    Version: WebLogic Server 10.3.5.0 Fri Apr 1 20:20:06 PDT 2011 1398638
    Using book: Getting Started with Oracle SOA 11g R1, A Hands-On Tutorial
    Had success through Chapt 7. Now working through 8, Creating Human Tasks -- almost everything checks out.
    Deployed POProcessing success (with 1 warning: assignee not specified)
    Deployed ApproveTaskDetails (from Application menu) success
    -Run the test tool in Enterprise Manager 11g
    -Response looks according to book, using Launch Flow Trace button I see ManualPOApproval is in running state, as expected.
    -Run Oracl BPM Worklist, log in according to book (weblogic)
    -I can see the Approve Order line under the My Tasks tab
    When I select the Approve Order line item, according to book I should see Approve Order Contents in the lower pane.
    But the details never populate the pane and I see "Waiting for..." in Explorer status bar.
    The logs are filling up with the following statement repeated about 2/second (from D:\oracle\Middleware\home_11gR1\user_projects\domains\domain1\servers\soa_server1\logs\access.log) ...

  • Human Task output variables (I need help I'm in a dead end alley)

    Good evening to all. I have a human task, that receives this input in the input variable:
         <element name="ReadWriteHumanTaskProcessRequest">
              <complexType>
                   <sequence>
                        <element name="numero" type="string"/>
                        <element name="apellidos" type="string"/>
                        <element name="nombres" type="string"/>
                        <element name="direccion" type="string"/>
                   </sequence>
              </complexType>
         </element>
    I append this to the payload of the task :
    <bpelx:append>
    <bpelx:from variable="inputVariable" part="payload"
    query="/client:ReadWriteHumanTaskProcessRequest"/>
    <bpelx:to variable="initiateTaskInput" part="payload"
    query="/taskservice:initiateTask/task:task/task:payload"/>
    </bpelx:append>
    The JSP page shows fine, user modify the fiels, I can see in the Receive part of the Human task the fields that are modified:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <task xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/workflow/task">
    <title>Another One</title>
    - <payload xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/workflow/task">
    - <ns1:ReadWriteHumanTaskProcessRequest xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/ReadWriteHumanTask">
    <ns1:numero>1</ns1:numero>
    <ns1:apellidos>q</ns1:apellidos>
    <ns1:nombres>a</ns1:nombres>
    <ns1:direccion>z</ns1:direccion>
    </ns1:ReadWriteHumanTaskProcessRequest>
    </payload>
    I need to retrieve the value of the contet of the payload, I have tried this:
    <copy>
    <from variable="ReadWriteHT_1_globalVariable"
    part="payload"
    query="/task:task/task:payload"/>
    <to variable="inputVariable" part="payload"
    query="/client:ReadWriteHumanTaskProcessRequest"/>
    During deploymet I got a warning about incompatible types in from-spec to-spect but it works anyway.
    But the result is this:
    <inputVariable><part xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" name="payload"><ns1:ReadWriteHumanTaskProcessRequest xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/workflow/task" xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/ReadWriteHumanTask"><ns1:ReadWriteHumanTaskProcessRequest xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/ReadWriteHumanTask">
    <ns1:numero>1</ns1:numero>
    <ns1:apellidos>q</ns1:apellidos>
    <ns1:nombres>a</ns1:nombres>
    <ns1:direccion>z</ns1:direccion>
    </ns1:ReadWriteHumanTaskProcessRequest>
    </ns1:ReadWriteHumanTaskProcessRequest>
    </part></inputVariable>
    As you can see the payload is inside the input variable and I can't find a way in the copy to write anything but /task:task/task:payload.
    I've see the samples and tutorials, those work but mine no. There is a way to get the values from the element task:payload ?

    Hello to all. I´ve been trying to do something very similar to Ivan. I created a Human Task that has one Parameter called test which is a {http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema}string. I then genereted a Auto Task Form so that I can update the value of this parameter in the worklist. So for so good. Now I want to get this value that was inputed in this variable and copy to a global variable that I have created, that has the same type: {http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema}string
    I followed the instructions above but had no luck. here is the code:
    <assign name="CopyPayloadFromTask">
    <copy>
    <from variable="TesteFormulario_1_globalVariable"
    part="payload"
    query="/task:task/task:payload/client:TesteFormProcessRequest/client:test"/>
    <to variable="FormReturn"/>
    </copy>
    </assign>
    When I run the flow, it gives me this message:
    <selectionFailure xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2003/03/business-process/"><part name="summary"><summary>empty variable/expression result.
    xpath variable/expression expression "/task:task/task:payload/client:TesteFormularioProcessRequest/client:test" is empty at line 175, when attempting reading/copying it.
    Please make sure the variable/expression result "/task:task/task:payload/client:TesteFormularioProcessRequest/client:test" is not empty.
    </summary>
    </part></selectionFailure>
    I have noticed that this is a general message. I´ve tryed changing the parameter name, from test do glauco, for instance, which doesn´t exist, and the same message is returned. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks
    Glauco

  • Human task notification after due date/expiration date/...

    I would like to set a due date (or expiration date) to Human task, and set some notification before this time. Ok, it seemed very easy:
    - i set due date to 5 minutes in human task -> Deadlines
    - i set notifications in human task -> notification and in tab Advanced i set remind once 2 minutes before due date
    Nothing happens. Exactly same (nothing) happens when i do the same with expiration date.
    But what exactly is meaned under word "Reminder"?
    It's mail? (then where I have to set email adress? I tried to set a "to" field in human task -> notification -> tab Advanced -> notif. header attributes => nothing happened)
    It's worklist inbox message?
    Or what ist "reminder" and how it should remind me?

    Hi,
    I don’t know if you’ve managed to resolve this issue yet and you mention you have emails working from BPEL, but I'm not sure if you've got any notifications working for the Human Task, if not then I have done some work with the human task notifications and although I’ve not tried to do what you’re doing, this is what I have learned.
    Firstly to receive any notifications you need to configure the Messaging Driver and Workflow Notification Properties…
    In Enterprise Manager expand [farm] -> SOA -> soa-infra
    Right click soa-infra and choose SOA Administration -> Workflow Notification Properties
    Underneath the page title (Workflow Notification Properties) is a note telling you to configure the Messaging Service Driver. Click the "Go to the Messaging Driver page" link.
    In the associated drivers section you will have a single entry for soa_server1 (or what ever it's called for you). In the right hand column there is a button for configuring the driver, click this.
    In the driver specific configuration, scroll down to OutgoingMailServer and enter the hostname or IP address of your mail server, then click Apply at the top of the screen.
    Now go back to the Workflow Notification Properties screen and choose “Email” from the notification Mode and enter some sensible email addresses in the Notification Service section. It’s useful to have real email addresses in here at the moment because any failures will be returned to this address.
    You now need to restart Weblogic for these changes to take affect.
    After the restart you can test the notifications by doing the following
    Back in Enterprise Manager expand [farm] -> SOA -> soa-infra
    Right click soa-infra and choose Service Engines -> Human Workflow
    Click on the Notification Management tab.
    You can click the "Sent Test Notification" button to make sure everything is working ok. This screen also allows you to monitor notifications for failures.
    Now that the notifications have been set up you can configure who gets notified on which events against your human task in JDeveloper.
    The email addresses for the users are retrieved from your identify provider for the relevant user, by default this is the internal LDAP directory. I’m not using this, so I’m not sure exactly how this will work. There are options in the worklist application for individual users, but I’m not using this either.
    Now that this is set up you can configure the human task within JDeveloper. On the notification tab you can decide who gets notified when. By default when a task is assigned to a user, the assignees are notified, you can play about with these settings to see what works best for you. Have a look at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/integration.1111/e10224/bp_workflow.htm#BABBHDGF for more information.
    I’m not sure I’ve solved your problem, but I hope this at least helps.

  • FYI Assignees in Human Task

    Hello,
    I would like to allow a Human Task assignee to select and assign users as FYI assignees in a parallel stage within the same Human Task. Is this possible?
    Example: User_A is assigned and logged-into the Human Task under the Worklist Application. I would like to allow User_A to select and assign users as FYI assignees in the currently active task. I only require the FYI users to comment or they can ignore entirely and User_A can reject/approve at any time.
    Is it possible to add FYI assignees to a Human Task while it is running? If so, how is this done?
    My findings so far:
    IWorkflowServiceClient client = WorkflowServiceClientFactory.getWorkflowServiceClient();
    ITaskService service = client.getTaskService();
    What should I do from here?
    I would be open to other design ideas, as well.
    Thanks,
    Mark
