About JavaDOC view and search tool - JavaAPIHelper.

I like the tool very much.
Does anyone know the difference between register and unregister version?
Thanks.

I dont know a lot about google search but would it allow me
to create separate boxes with variables from a drop-down menu? I am
happy to spend a little time learning PHP etc and designing my own
search tools but need a little advise about how to go about
it.

    So I hear you can view .doc files but not save them or edit them, correct? I am thinking about using a itouch as a pda type thing. I have a huge word file that is a resource for me....it is like 100 pages long. Will I be able to have this file on the itouch and search it to find what I am looking for?? or any suggestions on how to make this work? thanks in advance

  • Embedding tags in files for viewing and searching in other software

    Hi,
    I'm a bit confused about how tags are associated with files.  I recently transferred all my photos to a new computer and lost some, but not all, the tags I had added to my photos within Elements Organiser.  I am in the process of archiving all my old family photos by scanning slides, negatives and prints. I'm working on a Windows computer.  Most are being saved as TIFFs but I also have JPEGs and RAW files.  I want future generations of my family to be able to search these photos by using first name tags for example.  They may not have Photoshop.  My daughter uses a Mac and different software.
    I see that under the File menu there is an option 'write keyword tags and property info to photo'.  Will this save this info so that it can be found and searched in other types of software?  If so, does this apply to all types of photo files?
    And another quick similar question - when I change the date of the photo under the thumbnail in Organiser is this saved to the file?
    Thnaks for any help you can give me.
    Stuart Logan

    I think you are confusing the value and purpose of JPGs vs TIFFs vs RAWs.
    You always (that's always) save your originals. These are either the photos straight out of the camera, or straight out of the scanner. You may choose to make other versions of these photos for other purposes.
    So ... keep your originals. Keep your edited versions. When you need to send photos to somewhere else, you can make JPGs of them, and send them (after which time you could delete the JPGs if you want). If space is a problem, the generally accepted wisdom is that hard disk space is cheap, that 1 terabyte hard drive are well under 100 dollars US; so the optimal strategy is to get extra hard disk space rather than delete the originals.
    Regarding the codecs that enable you to see the RAW photo thumbnails in Windows: these will NOT allow you to see the edits you make in ACR/PSE. Nor does it help to allow you to search for keywords in DNG files. You have hit upon a disadvantage to using DNG versus RAW; if you use RAW, the tags get written to a sidecar (text) file, and these are searchable using Windows. If you use DNG, the tags are embedded into the DNG file, and are not searchable using Windows (although somewhere in the back of my mind, I thought I had heard that you can configure Windows to search for tags in DNG files, but the details, if this is true, escape me).

  • NEED HELP about file handling and searching

    Hi guys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    A) I need a help from u i wrote this programme to read from the file and assign the lines for the string array.
    import java.io.*;
    public class ReadFile{
    public static void main(String[] args){
    int i;
    BufferedReader file;
    String line() = null;
    String fileName = "xx.txt";
              try {
                   file = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(fileName));
    for(i=1;i<=10;i++){
    line(i)= file.readLine();
    System.out.println(line(i));
    file.close();
              } catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
                   System.out.println("File: " + fileName + " not found.");
              } catch(IOException e) {
                   System.out.println("Error reading data from file: " + fileName);
    the thing is it is compiling but when interpritting it gives the error
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException in line(i)= file.readLine();
    plese help me on this and
    B) i want to know how to search the string array to find 4 letter words.
    i'm taking the each element which is line(i) one at a time and search it.
    Plese help me on these issues !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You try to create an array with line(i) (as far as i see) but you dont need to keep each line in memory. As far as i understand you just need to process lines sequentially.. (Null pointer exception is thrown because you did not create your array properly!)
    Look at this code:
    http://www.java-tips.org/java-se-tips/java.io/reading-text-from-a-file.html
    You just need to define process method in that code. (and of course try to understand). So as far as i see, you will check for 4-letter words inside process method!
    For detecting 4-character word, you need to extract the words in the line using StringTokenizer:
    http://www.java-tips.org/java-se-tips/java.util/how-to-use-stringtokenizer.html
    Then you can just just use length() method of String class:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/api/java/lang/String.html
    And if you need more advanced logic for processing the lines(currently seems to be the length of strings), you may try regular expressions:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/essential/regex/index.html
    http://www.java-tips.org/java-se-tips/java.util.regex/

  • Calendar list view and search go back only 1 year

    I have a new iPhone 4S (IOS5).  Calendar List view shows entries only back to a year ago, yet Day, Month and Week views show all my entries going back to Oct 2008.  Perhaps related:  the monthly views in Reminders also go back just one year.  A friend with an iPhone 4 and upgraded to IOS5 doesn't have this problem (with her Calendar;  I don't know about her Reminders).
    The problem also affects my global (Spotlight) searches as well, so I can't find entries earlier than Oct 2010.  Is there some setting I have that may be causing this?
    I should say that this problem existed for me on my 3G phone that I just replaced with the 4GS.  But all the other Calendar problems I had with the old phone and IOS4 appear to be fixed.  Only the one described above remains.
    One more thing:  My PC is Windows and I don't sync my Calendars with Outlook (or anything else, of course).  When I used to do that I would get duplicate entries and other problems.  (If I need to restore a lost Calendar entry, I'll use my iPhone backup, which runs every night when I sync my phone).
    Is this a known Calendar problem still existing with IOS5?

    FYI for those equally frustrated, I did place this in Feedback - not that it will result in an answer anytime soon. Why don't you do it too - get some momentum on this!

  • Adobe reader print current view and snapshot tool inoperable

    Print current view is inoperable in part of the document snapshot tool is inoperable in all of the document, why?
    I am trying to print a two page pdf in larger print and can't figure out how to do it.

    oooooooooooooooooooooooooooook.  I tried that, but Adobe reader froze so hard, I had to do a hard boot.  Don't ever start Adobe Reader then go to straight to "help". When I exited help,  I got a red screen which had "legal notices" and "credits".  Clicking on either of those worked.  When I tried to exit, I just got a beep.  When I tried to close with the task manager it said that the program was locked and could not be closed.  When I tried to soft re-boot my whole system froze.  Only a hard boot got me out of the frozen Adobe reader.
    Now back to the task at hand.  Fit does nothing.  To make the document readable, I have to zoom to 125%, but zoom does not influence type size except in "current view", To print a two page document, I have to do 26 "current views".  I NEED the snapshot tool, why is it inoperable?

  • Itunes 13 Composer view and search is corrupt

    When I search by composer and highlight a composer down the left hand side list, sometimes the listed tracks are correct, more often than not they are completely unrelated to the selected composer. The only way to get it to search is by typing the composer into the 'search music'  field in the top right hand corner. Then trying to edit a composer's name over a group of albums by selecting the composer then 'Command I' (get info), after adding the relevant text the edit will sometimes take and sometimes crash the programme.

  • How to create a Windows 8.1 Desktop icon from the Metro/Start and/or Search Tool?

    I'm a Desktop user, but often find myself needing to go to the Metro/Start and Search Tool to find programs and App(let)s in order to run them.  However, after doing this several times for many programs, I find myself wanting to create
    Desktop icons to run the programs more easily.  Is there a way to do this from the Metro/Start Icon and/or Search Tool results?
    If not, Microsoft, please consider adding the ability to do this.
    It would be very nice if this ability supported all of the icon types shown in the Metro/Start, Search Tool, and Control Panel interfaces, e.g.: Metro Apps, Desktop Programs, Charms, and Control Panel Applets.
    Currently, there is a way to pin the Metro/Start Icon to the Desktop, but the Taskbar will get very cluttered with even only a handful icons.
    It would be very nice if the desktop icon created by this also supported the context options that the program/app(let) now shows as Tasks when the icon is pinned to the Desktop Taskbar.
    Additionally, it would be nice if I could also simply drag a Pinned Taskbar icon onto the Desktop area, again, retaining it's Tasks as context menu options when the Desktop Taskbar icon is right clicked.
    This ability would be very helpful for people needing to get to programs and App(let)s, without having to resort the Metro/Start and Search Tool, because when there are a lot of Metro/Start icons, I have well over a hundred icons, it
    can be very hard to find one simply eye-balling lot.  The Search feature is much better, provided I know the name to look for and can remember it.
    Finally, this ability would be very helpful, because the kinds of desktop shortcut icons that I can create using the New Shortcut option, assuming that can I find the program/App(let)'s name and path information, do not support the context options
    that the icons could in Windows 7 when an icon is created while installing the program.

  • Give me details about differrent views in generic extraction give details

    give me details about differrent views in generic extraction give details  such as  database view, projection view, help view, etc please give detail

    Dear Deba,
    Projection view - Just retrieves some fields from a single table.
    Help View - This is used for search help.
    Database View - This is inner join view of one or more tables
    Maintenance View - Helps in creating maintaining data of the application object. The data can be distributed among several tables
    Data Base View:
    A database view is defined in the ABAP Dictionary and automatically created on the database during
    activation. Accesses to a database view are passed directly to the database from the database interface.
    The database software performs the data selection.
    If the definition of a database view is changed in the ABAP Dictionary, the view created on the database
    must be adjusted to this change. Since a view does not contain any data, this adjustment is made by
    deleting the old view definition and creating the view again in the ABAP Dictionary with its new definition.
    The maintenance status defines whether you can only read with the view or whether you can also write
    with it. If a database view was defined with more than one table, this view must be read only.
    The data read with a database view can be buffered. View data is buffered analogously to tables. The
    technical settings of a database view control whether the view data may be buffered and how this should
    be done. The same settings (buffering types) can be used here as for table buffering. The buffered view
    data is invalidated when the data in one of the base tables of the view changes.
    Maintainance View:
    Data that is distributed on more than one table often forms a logical unit, called an application object.
    You should be able to display, change and create the data of such an application object together. Users
    usually are not interested in the technical implementation of the application object, such as the distribution of the data on several tables.
    You can maintain complex application objects in a simple way using a maintenance view. The data is
    automatically distributed on the underlying database tables.
    All the tables used in a maintenance view must be linked with a foreign key. This means that the join
    conditions are always derived from the foreign key in the maintenance view. You cannot enter the join
    conditions directly as in a database view.
    A maintenance interface with which the data of the view can be displayed, changed and created must be
    generated from the definition of a maintenance view in the ABAP Dictionary.
    When the maintenance interface is created, function modules that distribute the data maintained with the
    view on the underlying tables are automatically generated.
    The maintenance interface is generated with the Transaction Generate Table View (Transaction SE54)
    or from the view maintenance screen with Environment -> Tab.maint.generator.
    Database views implement an inner join. You only get those records which have an entry in all the tables
    included in the view.
    Maintenance views implement an outer join.
    Help View:
    A help view is defined analogously to a maintenance view. Help views can only be used as selection
    methods in search helps. Since the R/3 System cannot pass the selection directly to the database using
    a help view, it must generate its own access routines. The database view should therefore be used as
    selection method in preference to the help view.

  • When we go for Views and Function Modules for Generic Extraction

    Hi Experts,
    Can you please explain when we go for extracting the data using Views and when we got using Function Modules using Generic Extraction from R/3 system to BW with examples. And also can you explain when we go for delta for the above both scenarios.
    Thanks for you help in advance

    Hi,
    Scenario for Extarction using FM
    Imagine the scenario where you need to extract data from
    tables having no common field between them and thereby preventing you from creating a view on top of those tables..
    Or simply consider tables that are highly unrelatd in terms of fields, but you have a requiremnt to extract data from them.

  • Creating a view and use the view in a model

    Hi All,
    I am new to OBIEE and i have a requirement that i have two fields to be added to a subject area. Since we can't add queries directly to a model, i have to create a view and then put the query in it and then use the view in that model.
    I couldn't understand this much, if anybody could help me explaining in detail about the views and adding a query in it?
    Thanks
    Gohan

    Hi,
    Please refer the screen short below link
    http://imgur.com/b9sXS
    Right click any of one physial table(RPD physical layer) -> Select Properties -> from the properties windows choose 'Select' as Table type ->
    Please enable feature 'CREATE_VIEW_SUPPORTED' view just go to 'Features' tab and from the available option select 'CREATE_VIEW_SUPPORTED' is checked or not. If it is not checked then check the option.
    can you explain your current model and scenario?
    for example to you can use to fetch two fields from Subqueries,all trypes of joins(inner,left outer,right outer etc..,) its upto you case
    e.x:fetching two tables columns mapping subquery:
    SELECT column1, column2 FROM table1 WHERE column1 IN (SELECT column1 FROM table1
    INTERSECT SELECT column1 FROM table2 )
    SELECT column1, column2 FROM table1,table2 WHERE table1.column1 = table2.column1
    Alternative there is feature call "mulitple subject area" method will work (Union,Union all etc..,)
    Thanks

  • Diff bt Help view and Maintanence view

    hi gem's
    i need the diff bt Help view and Maintanence view with example...............

    Hi
    The followings are different types of views:
    - Database View (SE11)
    Database views are implement an inner join, that is, only records of the primary table (selected via the join operation) for which the corresponding records of the secondary tables also exist are fetched. Inconsistencies between primary and secondary table could, therefore, lead to a reduced selection set.
    In database views, the join conditions can be formulated using equality relationships between any base fields. In the other types of view, they must be taken from existing foreign keys. That is, tables can only be collected in a maintenance or help view if they are linked to one another via foreign keys.
    - Help View ( SE54)
    Help views are used to output additional information when the online help system is called.
    When the F4 button is pressed for a screen field, a check is first made on whether a matchcode is defined for this field. If this is not the case, the help view is displayed in which the check table of the field is the primary table. Thus, for each table no more than one help view can be created, that is, a table can only be primary table in at most one help view.

    - Projection View
    Projection views are used to suppress or mask certain fields in a table (projection), thus minimizing the number of interfaces. This means that only the data that is actually required is exchanged when the database is accessed.
    A projection view can draw upon only one table. Selection conditions cannot be specified for projection views.
    - Maintenance View ( SE54 )
    Maintenance views enable a business-oriented approach to looking at data, while at the same time, making it possible to maintain the data involved. Data from several tables can be summarized in a maintenance view and maintained collectively via this view. That is, the data is entered via the view and then distributed to the underlying tables by the system.
