About MESSAGE build-in

hi,
I've noticed that when I use the MESSAGE build-in to display a message, sometimes message appears only at the message line and others like a messagebox where it demands a responce from the user (press OK). What I want is to have this messagebox-like message whenever I want.
I've read about ACKNOWLEDGE parameter but in order to get a messagebox-like message u have to display a second message after your actual message even if the second is like message('');..
Is there another way except to display a dummy message after your actual one to get desired result?

I want to make sure the message IS displayed in a messagebox for the user to see and press ok.. ;-)

Yeah, I know I could have a single alert with one OK button and set the message every time I want to display a message but I thought there would be an easier/faster way..
Thanks both, I think I'll stick to my little trick with the dummy message for the time as I have only one message that has to be displayed that way..

Hi Shankar,
XI uses Queue's to store messages, If you worked on message mapping you can see the how queue look like,
Every queue having context ,it separate the values,it store the messages in highrarchy manner.
Using Context Handling we resoleve context issues.
Using node functions we aceive Context Handling.
Search in SDN there is some good blogs abt Node Functions, if you understand nodefunction you wil understand the Queue concepts.

I want to make sure I understand:
- Clearly Builder 1.5 doesnt change for the version generated for IPAD (still the 1.4 version in fact) => so problems remain unresolved (folio charge still invisible, just tested, and probably many other)
- A solution was found for android which has the viewer in 1.5 witch is seen to work (testing yet in progress for us)
I understant better now the board or not to update production tools as Adobe Viewer is not validated and available on the app-store ..
If this is the case it's just a trick to give us a bone, and reduce the discontent on the forum ...

Depends on the type of Message.
SMS messages will send and receive with data off. and while you can guarantee you send using SMS you cannot guarantee that whoever replies to you does also. They may be replying thorugh iMessage if they are using iPhones.
However Android should be sending through SMS.
You can turn off iMessage if you want to, though people with limtied SMS text messaging in their plans may not appreciate it, and stop messaging you.

Question about Page Builder behavior - how to get a "please wait message" ?

Hi all together,
I got a question about Portal Framework / Page Buider handling iView Integration.
We are working with a lot of App Integrator iViews and often the pages includes with app integrator are loading longer than the rest of the portal. So there is the idea to put in a "please wait while loading message" for the enduser.
I analysed the html code, the page builder is generating and foud out 3 diffrent approaches how the page buider is rendering the IFRAME with the integrated application configured with an app integrator iView.
My question is how can I influence this behavior to put a "please wait while loading message"?
Different types of iView integration in the client I have seen:
a) direct loading of the content in the IFRAME (<iframe id="" ... scr="/mysource">)
b) Filling the iframe with 'about:blank' and loading the content later by filling a form with JS
( <iframe id="" .... scr="about:blank">and after the iframe <form id="" action="mysource" ...>
c) Filling the iframe with a html file from the portal layout and loading the content later by filling a form with JS (similar to b)
( <iframe id=""" ....scr="/irj/portalapps/com.sap.test.mylayout/html/blank.html>
I checked that variant b) is getting generated when loading a page with different components on the side (not only the app integrator iview) and variant c) is generated when just one app integrator iView is positioned (no portal page).
Goal: To get the "please wait picture" I want to know how to get variant c) in cases of different elements on one page
So I would be able to put this picture on the HTML-Page in the Portal layout (blank.html)
Hope, someone with a deep portal / page builder know-how can help me out!
Another way: Does anybody knows another way how to put a "please wait message" while app integrator application is not loaded yet?

Hi Jens,
there are several reasons why you don't get the loading animation:
Web Dynpro ABAP: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1432358 -> missing configuration
Wrong height size for iView: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1358494 -> alter configuration of the iFrame height (loading animation gets displayed, but is hidden)
FPN, BSP, BEx: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1290995 -> AI isn't showing the animation because of performance considerations. I guess that is your case. Depending on your portal version this is a simple service configuration or involves some customization.

Building Native Mobile App for Android: error message, build fail

Hi,
I'm trying RH10 on a Win 8 x64 system, trying to get the generate for mobile devices, Android to work. I've installed the Android SDK (part of the complete ADT) in a "Development" folder in the C drive, installed JDK for Win 64, added the PhoneGap and ANT unzipped folders to the "Development" folder and then in the RH10 dialog to generate the Android APK, I've pointed set the correct paths to these tools. (All installed tools are correct for my OS, Win 8 x64.)
No matter what I try, using a sample file (EmployeeCare, Salesbuilder), I get an error message at the very end of the build process. Please see the screenshot showing the error message and the relevant part of the log which looks like the ANT path is not working correctly. The build fails every time. I've tried to do some troubleshooting online and for example, came across setting the environment variables for the ANT folder, which I did, but with no success in fixing the problem. The Eclipse installation connects with the JDK and runs OK if I simply boot it up.
My path settings are in a second screenshot below.
(I've tried the ANT path with different values, for example "C:\Development\apache-ant-1.9.0-bin" etc. Doesn't prevent error message and build failure.)
I am not sure what else to do. Any help would be appreciated. At this point, I would be happy to simply be able to build one APK then test it on an Android device.

Not much on the forums yet about creating an app but I notice you are using Windows 8 which is not officially supported yet. Can you try on a Windows 7 machine to rule out the OS being the problem?

Switching Sides - A few questions about this build

Well, here I am... A Final Cut Pro user building a new box for Premier CS5. Would you believe it? I'm mostly working with AVCHD / H.264 hopefully natively depending on how the system performs. Mostly just editing in Premier and converting to MPEG, and H.264 for the web and blu ray.
Here is build that I have came up with. I love the case, it looks huge.

I have a few questions if you guys don't mind:
1) The RAM i listed is speed 6. But it's only 6gb. I could spend more and get 12GB but it would be much slower (speed 9). I'm really only using premier, encoder, and encore. Little if no AE, etc. Will the performance gain be worth it to invest in slower 12GB ram?
2) Any experience with the Matrox card? Everything I make gets exported to blu ray and some of it online (h.264). Seems like the $500 would be well spent.
3) What is the cheapest version of Windows 7 that has the features someone like me would need?
4) Is the PSU enough @ 650w? I plan on it powering 6+ HDDs.

When i log on to thunderbird, the in box has the message, 'building summary file', this then takes ages to do . how do I stop it doing this every time I log on?

Message build up

So I noticed the other day that when I go into my usage in settings the app that takes up the most space is messaging. It says it takes up 8.6g and even when I go to delete all my convos it doesn't drop. How do I fix this? I'd rather not jailbreak it either

Once you've deleted as much as you can, restart your iPhone.
Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.

Clarifications about Query Builder and Additional Default Layout in Reports 6i

1) Is Query Builder re-entrant in Reports 6i? If yes, what is the method. As when I tried to re-eter, it gave me message '..... Syntax Error'.
2) IN 'ADDITIONAL Default Layout', Reports 6i does not allow group field to be
included in 'the fields to be printed' list. It allows but in next tab it omits that group field.
As a result no repeating frame for the Group is generated in the 'ADDITIONAL Default Layout'.
What is wrong?

Not sure I fully understand the question but you seem to be saying that if you select a field in the ADL tool, it doesn't show up in the layout. This can only happen if you select a field in the "Fields" tab from a group you haven't selected in the "Groups" tab.
Ideally Reports shouldn't show these fields since you haven't selected the groups. Unfortunately it does and you need to ensure all the appropriate groups have been selected in the "Groups" tab.
At least it will tell you if you have selected a group but haven't selected any fields for the group or if you haven't selected enough groups for the type of layout you're trying to create.

Newbie question about message digests

I understand that a digest is a one-way process, that a message digest is a "fingerprint" of the original message but that there is no way to recover the original (I think Ronald Rivest's document says it is "conjectured to be computationally infeasible" to do so). So far so good.
But I also read this about digest algorithms: "it is virtually impossible to create a message with a predetermined digest." ( http://tinyurl.com/39thq )
What does this mean, given that a particular message will always hash to the same digest?

This sounds especially true now that I see the explanation. For example, I notice that even different case for the "same" string matters: "test" vs. "Test" comes out to different hash.
As for picking completely different strings that hash to the same digest, that seems almost inconceivable.
