Hello,
http://www.oracle.com/webapps/online-help/reports/10.1.2/topics/htmlhelp_rwbuild_hs/rwintro/migrate/mi_upgrd2_5.htm
Beginning with Oracle Reports Developer Release 2.5, there is no upgrade necessary: reports can be opened by any later Oracle Reports release.

    Here is the solution that I received from the chat line.
    When you update applications like Pages it usually keeps both versions on the computer. So what most likely happened is it didn’t put the new version on your dock. So to fix this, open a finder window. And go into applications which should be listed on the left. Scroll down and you will see Pages listed in here. And the icon should look different. You can drag that icon down onto your dock.Open that and you then can access your documents

  • Oracle report from 6i to 10g

    hi all,
    We try to move oracle report from 6i to 10g. however we found that the report's record ordering is different.
    The case is that, the record in report is ordered according to the attribute "break order".
    There is no "order by" in sql".
    It runs without problems in 6i, but in 10g , the ordering of the record has no ordering.
    Please help to solve the problems or give some advice. Thanks.

    Break order property only works for ordering in break groups. For other groups (like the lowest level group) you have to use order by in your SQL.
    That was also the case in 6i, so you may just have been lucky that it worked at all.
    This is from the Help:
    The Break Order property is the order in which to display the column's values. This property applies only to columns that identify distinct values of user-created groups (i.e., break groups ). The order of column values in a default group is determined by the ORDER BY clause of the query for SQL queries

  • Migrate reports from 6i to 10g

    Hello friends,
    I want to migrate reports created in oracle 6i report builder
    to
    oracle 10g.
    Please give me steps for that.
    Arvind2

    It happens on all machine. We use browser to launch the application and the report is called from forms (10.1.2). We didn't change any code in report and neither the fonts (Tahoma). In 6i, client server environment, windows can find the font. I guess in 10g web environment, the font is not as default. HP Laserjet 8000N is a network printer which I use to testing my report. everything is fine in 6i but not 10g. Here is my question.
    1. How to check printer setup? Should I use the default font from Linux instead of Tahoma?
    2. I found a note in metalink, Note:356221.1 which explains the procedures to deploy reports from windows to Linux. I am not sure my problem is related to the font or something else...
    Thanks for you reponse.

  • Urgent: Calling Reports from Oracle Forms 10g (10.1.2.0.2) fails

    Problem displaying a report from within Oracle 10g forms.
    After a lot of work, we are able to access and actually display a report directly from Internet explorer and view the report from the report server as well.
    The successful url was:
    http://york.vrc.virginia.gov:7778/reports/rwservlet
    ?report=/u01/app/oracle/produ ct/vrcmidtier/reports/vrc/pmw41051.rdf
    &userid=vrcpr/vrcpr@vrctest&destype=cache&desformat=HTML
    The form displays correctly back to the screen
    When executing from within the form, however, the report runs but does not display back to the screen.
    Forms Steps so far:
    created a report object called pmw41050
    static parameters are:
    file name: /u01/app/oracle/product/vrcmidtier/reports/vrc/pmw41051.rdfination format
    execution mode: batch
    communication mode: synchronous
    destination name; null
    destination format: HTML
    reportserver:: vrc_york_midtier
    Built a when button pressed trigger as follows:
    declare
    l_report_file varchar2(200);
    l_report_id REPORT_OBJECT;
    l_report_status varchar2(200);
    begin
    -- capture the report
    l_report_file := 'pmw41051';
    l_report_id := find_report_object(l_report_file);
    -- set the parameters for this output
    set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_EXECUTION_MODE, BATCH);
    set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_COMM_MODE, SYNCHRONOUS);
    set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_DESTYPE, CACHE);
    set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_DESFORMAT, 'PDF');
    set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_SERVER, 'rep_york_vrcmidtier');
    set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_OTHER, 'PARAMFORM=NO');
    set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_DESNAME, 'DESNAME');
    -- and run the report
    l_report_status := run_report_object(l_report_id);
    -- monitor progress
    while l_report_status in ('RUNNING', 'OPENING_REPORT', 'ENQUEUED') loop
    l_report_status := report_object_status(l_report_status);
    end loop;
    message('back from the report'); -- test message for return
    end;
    The report executes without error (as indicated by the message on the last line) but does NOT display back to the screen
    checking the rwservlet/showjobs verifies the report completed and the reportcan be displayed from there.
    So, bottom line: how to make a 10g form call report and display it on the screen?

    Thanks MIke for your feedback...
    Will this surfice?
    Procedure Test_Report Is
    repid REPORT_OBJECT;

    hi
    try something like this.
    DECLARE
    charWinHandle VARCHAR2(50);
    numWinHandle NUMBER;
    BEGIN Set_Application_Property(Cursor_Style,'BUSY');
    charWinHandle := Get_Item_Property('Control.Rep',Window_Handle);
    numWinHandle := To_Number(charWinHandle);
    :Item('Control.CrystalReport1').OCX.Crystal.Crysta lReport.WindowParentHandle
    := numWinHandle;
    :Item('Control.CrystalReport1').OCX.Crystal.Crysta lReport.WindowState := 2;
    :Item('CONTROL.CRYSTALREPORT1').OCX.Crystal.Crysta lReport.Connect
    := 'DSN=;UID=' || Get_Application_Property(UserName) ||
    ';pwd=' || Get_Application_Property(password) || ';dsq=;';
    Crystal_CrystalCtrl.ReportFileName( :Item('Control.CrystalReport1').interface,
    'C:\Sample_Rep.Rpt' );
    Set_Window_Property( Forms_Mdi_Window, Window_State,Maximize );
    Set_Window_Property( 'MAIN', Window_State, Maximize );
    :reptitle := 'Report Preview Window';
    numWinHandle := Crystal_CrystalCtrl.PrintReport( :Item('Control.CrystalReport1').interface );
    Set_Application_Property(Cursor_Style,'DEFAULT');
    END;NOTE: Change the report name and path according to your required file name and path in
    the "Crystal_CrystalCtrl.ReportFileName" method call. Also, the connection string shown
    assumes that you will use the current USER and PASSWORD for the Form.
    - To make the above Form generic so that you can run any Crystal report from it, then create
    a parameter for the report name and pass it to the Form using CALL_FORM from any other Form.
    Then just replace the file name with the passed parameter.
    -. Run the Form
    If its correct/helpful please mark it thanks.

  • Calling Crystal Reports from Oracle Forms 10G

    Hi everyone,
    I am trying to call a crystal report from Oracle Forms 10G.
    I have a button on my Form which when clicked calls a Crystal Report which the uaser then wants to save as a PDf file.
    Can someone please send me the code to do this and also the exact steps that are to be followed.
    Thanks
    Fm.

    Hi Andreas,
    I am trying to call the crystal report from an Oracle Form using a URL. No batch file is being used here.
    I am looking for a peice of code similar to run_product or run_report built in in Oracle which calls an Oracle report from an Oracle Form.
    Also I dont want to display the report on a screen or a window in Oracle Forms. I would like it to run just as we run an Oracle Report from an Oracle Form.
    Is that possible ? If yes please let me know the steps to do this.
    Thanks

  • Reports Graphics and OAS 10g

    I made a report with a pie char in developer 10g, it runs OK and i see the char in my desktop. When I execute the report (.rep) in OAS 10g (Forms a Reports Services) via the rwservlet, the resulting PDF file contains everything but the chart doesn't appears (white page). Is there any kind of configuration I need to adjust?

    Hi,
    This is strange. There is no additional configuration needed for charts. If your reports are running fine, it means you should be able to get charts in the output. Does the same problem reproduce if you change the output format from PDF to HTML or HTMLCSS?

  • Custom Reports Server Issue (upgrading 10g to Weblogic 11g)

    I am having an issue with "Anonymous' user showing up when I go into the console of the Weblogic server to see all the report requests. In 10g (which we are upgrading from), I have report requests that I do a Preview from within Oracle Forms. When I do the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT/SHOW.WEB_DOCUMENT, it captures the User account and put it in the console with that username. On 11.1.1.4, using same form/report, it doesn't capture the username. If I call the reports server from the database, it does work fine.
    Anyone have any ideas if there's something I have to do in Oracle Forms to put that username in or if it's a setting on the Custom Reports Server that i need to set so that it captures the name from the Oracle Forms session.

    Hi A. Drieux,
    Thanks for the reply. i have some questions on ODI.
    Now we are using hyperion 11.1.1.3 with ODI 10.1.3. We are upgrading hyperion version 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.2.
    Is it possible, to use the same ODI 10.1.3 version to upgrade version(hyperion 11.1.2.2) also?
    Reply would be appreciated.

  • Info about report to rebuild MVER table

    Dear guru ,
    Can you give me info about  report ZMVERBRP that rebuild historical consumptions ?
    Oss note 804011 describe that I can use note 791728.
    But this note doesnu2019t exist.
    Can you help me ?
    Thanks

    The implementation is free of charge from SAP's perspective as you apply the note. Please make sure that you actually read the code and adapt to your needs if needed.
    The note exists but only as a pilot release and and customers will be added only if they really want the reports. SAP does not officially support it. I know it from first hand, I'm the one who releases it to the customers

  • How to connect Forms 6i & Reports 6i with oracle 10g R2?

    Hey everybody,
    I need your help in connecting both Forms 6i & Reports 6i with Oracle 10g Release 2 db, MS Access(2003, 2007) and SQL database(Microsoft Visual Studio 2008). I am a newbie. I have installed all of them on my HP notebook, with Windows 7 Ultimate(32 bit OS) installed. I want to generate forms & reports by accessing data from above mentioned databases. Please provide me with the configuration steps.
    Thanks in advance...!

    Welcome to the forum ;-)
    Please be sure to review the following:
    http://blogs.oracle.com/shay/entry/10_commandments_for_the_otn_fo
    First, I think it would be a good idea if we can understand why you have chosen to use a nearly new operating system yet install Oracle products that are 10 years old (i.e. Forms/Reports 6i) on it. In general, this is not a good idea. Although running such an old version on Win7 can be made to work, the possibility of having problems is likely. If you are infact new to the product, using a configuration where you are likely to have problems may not be a good starting place. Also, you should be aware that Forms/Reports 6i was desupported several years ago. Documentation and other information is gradually being replaced by newer information, so resources for this old version are going away. The latest version of Forms/Reports is part of Fusion Middleware 11R2 (version 11.1.2.0) and requires WebLogic Server 10.3.5 (or 10.3.6) in order to be installed.
    Second, if you decide to stick with F/R 6i, are you planning to run the applications you create in a browser or as a client/server application? This information is important because how you connect to a database will slightly differ depending on which option you choose. Also, if you want to connect to non-Oracle data sources you can use ODBC for client/server or Oracle Transparent Gateway. However, if you plan to deploy the applications using a browser, Gateway is your only option for connecting to non-Oracle datasources. As for connecting to MS Access, I believe ODBC is your only option, so web deployment may not be an option.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/gateways.102/b14270/ch1.htm
    There are many other references available. Try a Google search.
    As for connecting to an Oracle database, this is generally easy. For the Builder(s) and client/server runtime to connect, add the db information to the tnsnames.ora found in the Oracle Home (installation directory) \network\admin. If you are unfamiliar with what goes in the file you can copy the entries created for your database. The db will have a similar file found in a similar place in its installation directory (Oracle Home). For example, you might find something like this:
    ORCL =
    (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = YOURSERVER.COM)(PORT = 1521))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVER = DEDICATED)
          (SERVICE_NAME = orcl)
    )Simply copy this information to the end of your tnsnames.ora found where Forms/Reports is installed then restart any running Forms or Builders.
