About the PIM(Personal Information Manager)

Hi
Hello friends
i will get very important information about the PIM(personal Information Manager)
that manages the personal database in Handheld devices such as PDA,Mobiles,Cells etc
also i heard that it (PIM) should be downloaded seperately i search many times on sun's product web but i don't get the PIM
please tell me where i can get downloaded it the PIM?

Well directly from the J2ME PIM website ( [http://developers.sun.com/mobility/apis/articles/pim/index.html|http://developers.sun.com/mobility/apis/articles/pim/index.html] ) is this statement:
"Personal information management (PIM) refers to the ability to manage in electronic form the kinds of personal data that broad classes of users want handy, such as appointment books, contact directories, and to-do lists."
We're talking about accessing the actual PIM applications on the device (i.e. the Calendar, Contact List, etc. native to the specific phone/pda/device).
the javax.microedition.pim package is an optional package, meaning it is not part of the core MIDP/CLDC APIs. So, yes, you have to download a separate package and place the library in your classpath in order to compile on your system.
Now the next problem you're going to run into is "does your target device support this optional package". There is a reference implementation for PocketPC OS from IBM that you can find here: [http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/library/j-pda-op|http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/library/j-pda-op] . However if you're trying to perform this on a cellphone (for example) the phone's J2ME implementation is going to have to have support for JSR 75 for this to work at all. I don't know where there is a definitive list of phones that support JSR 75, but I believe BlackBerry's with version 4.2 or newer (for example) do support this package. I believe some Motorla, Erickson, Nokia and other phones support this optional package.
I read somewhere that the following line of code should tell you whether a device supports JSR 75 or not:
System.getProperty("microedition.io.file.FileConnection.version"); If this returns null then the system does not. If it returns a non-null string, then it does at some level.

  • Good PIM personal information manager for managing contacts?

As a user of cellphones since the days of the Treo and organizers back in the days of Palm Pilot, I remember some of the better PIMs that were available. The built-in PIM to iTunes is definitely not on the level of the Blackberry PIM or the old Palm Desktop.
What is a good PIM that will let me manage iOS and non-iOS contacts?
I have spotty service when I'm overseas sometime, so iCloud is not going to do it. Something that can be installed on a PC and MAC (not just MAC) would be great.

  • Different Personal Information Manager

    Hello Community.
is it possible to push another personal information manger, than Microsoft Exchange/Outlook.
I want to manipulate the presence off the user, from a different company's presence indication.
    is this possible?
please tell me if more information regarding the setup or question is needed?
    Best regards Mike

By Default No, Lync Client on Desktop will not detect when you have an ongoing call on 20201234, so that it sets 20202345 as busy.
By default, If you have a company cellphone with nr:20201234, and Lync Desktop Client with nr. 20202345, you will be able to call from your client Desktop the mobile phone.
To get lync client detect mobile phone and working together, you will need to configure it from lync client by enable
    Simultaneously Ring

  • Can the CSOM appy Information Management Policies to Content Types?

I'm looking to use client side code to manage the Information Management Policies of Content Types. Can this be done?
Add a policy to a content type.
Copy a policy from one content type to another.
Copy a source policy to update a destination content type and then those changes propogate to the lists/libraries where they are used.
    Thanks,
    Doug

    Hi Doug,
Per my knowledge, we can only use Powershell and server side object model to achieve it.
Here is a simialr thread for you to take a look at:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ce04e573-24ab-4a94-ad4e-c9cecb2fc050/can-we-apply-information-management-policy-by-client-object-model-on-sharepoint-2013-online-document?forum=sharepointdevelopment
As a workaround, we can create a web service and use Server Object Model to achieve it.

  • HT4061 my iphone was stolen last night and i am worried about the next person accessing my personal information. How can i protect myself

i am worried some one will be able to see my photos, bank deatails and phone numbers to steal my identity.
i loged into find my iphone last night but the device was switched off straight away i saiod to block the phone and ease it but i am really concerned some one can access my personal information

Once the device is gone it is too late to protect yourself.
Hopefully your device was setup to auto-lock and had a passcode, otherwise all data is accessible to anyone that picks it up.
Frankly, the most likely scenario is that the device has already been restored as new and is or has been sold for quick cash.

  • Authorizing, but allowing the other person to manage the account?

I gave an iPod shuffle to my sister as a present, and I loaded it with songs bought from iTunes from my account. She would like to use the iPod on her own machine (a PC). Of course it is synced to my computer (Mac). She would like to keep all the songs that I bought, but also maintain her own iTunes song library.
I know I can give her information so that she can authorize her computer on my account. What would be method for keeping the original songs, plus her own?
Also, if I let he authorize her computer, this brings me to the limit of 5. Is there a way that she can set up her own account, so that she can preserve the songs that I bought, plus manage her own purchases from here on in? I want to have the option of authorizing another of my computers and it would be nice not to carry her computer as one of my authorized machines.
    Suggestions, anyone?

+Is there a way that she can set up her own account, so that she can preserve the songs that I bought, plus manage her own purchases from here on in?+
She can authorize her PC using 2 accounts: yours and hers. She'll have to go to the itunes store and sign out of the one account, then sign in with the 2nd.
+it would be nice not to carry her computer as one of my authorized machines.+
She'll need to keep her PC authorized with your account, or buy the songs again under her account, or burn an audio CD of them. Those are the 3 options.

    Hi, All -
What is the correct answer for the following question.
Specifically, what information does Oracle provide you with in the alert.log regarding initialization parameters?
    a. Values of all initialization parameters at startup
    b. Values of initialization parameters modified since last startup
    c. Values of initialization parameters with non-default values
    d. Only values of initialization parameters that cannot be modified dynamically.
I think the answer should be B, but I would like to confirm.

    The answer is C

The alert log is a special trace file. The alert log of a database is a chronological log of messages and errors, and includes the following items:
All internal errors (ORA-600), block corruption errors (ORA-1578), and deadlock errors (ORA-60) that occur
Administrative operations, such as CREATE, ALTER, and DROP statements and STARTUP, SHUTDOWN, and ARCHIVELOG statements

  • About the Native Vlan and Management Vlan.

I wanted to know that Management vlan and Native vlan can be different vlan id or  both should be same vlan id. Why should not be native vlan 1.

The use of a native VLAN is generally frowned upon now as there are some well known security exploits that leverage this untagged VLAN. Cisco often recommends setting the Native VLAN to an unused VLAN in your infrastructure in order to render it useless for attacks.
It is also recommended that you create a separate VLAN for your Management traffic and that this VLAN be tagged (therefore not a Native VLAN).
Native Vlan is the vlan which will be sent untagged even in Trunk links. Consider a Trunk link configured between two switches SWA and SWB, if a system in vlan1 of SWA is sending a frame via SWB, then this frame will be received as untagged by SWB, then switch B decides that the untagged frame is from native vlan 1 and handles accordingly. By default native vlan is 1, this can also be changed as per requirement.
Example: In the below figure if a IP phone and system are connected toa switch port as below, the the Phones will  send its frames tagged with vlan 10 where as the frames sent by system will be untagged. So here the the corresponding switch port should be configured as native vlan 20. So that it can recognise and handle the frames from system and IP phone properly.
    a
Management vlan is different, it means that this vlan will be used for management purposes like Logging into the switch for management, Monitoring the switch, collecting Syslog ans SNMP traps, etc will be done by management vlan IP. This also by default vlan 1 in cisco. So as Antony said the it is always a Best practice and security measure to not use the default vlan and use custom vlans.
    Hope this helps !

  • Can't see the ESS Additional Personal Data link within Personal Information

    Hi All,
For some reasons, I can not see the Additional Personal Data link within the ESS Personal Information iView. I have checked the Homepage framework and the existence of the iView in the PCD and everything appears to be fine.
Do I need to assign any additional infotype to my id or give myself specific authorisations to see this link?
I would really appreciate if you could provide an answer to my query.
    Thanks,
    Vibhu

    Hi,
I think mostly you have maintained the data in PA30 Transaction and had data in Info type 0105.
After this try to check with your EA-HR patch and SAP HR patch in the services. If  both are not maintained at the same patch levels such type of problems will occur.
    Regards,
    kishore.

  • Does the backup include information from safari?

I recently dropped my iPad and now it won't charge or sync and I can't find anywhere if the information that is backed up when you sync the device includes things like Safari bookmarks and reading lists, or notes from the note app that is installed by the factory.
I have several links that I don't want to lose because I need them for school and I want to be sure before making the decision about whether to get this iPad fixed or getting a new one.
I have read all the applicable help articles as well as the user guide and can't find an answer.
I don't know what the iOS is on my iPad, because I'd rather not turn it back on until I know that I need to, so as to save what power is left.

The answer is yes for itunes backup but no for icloud backup
WHAT IS CONTAINED IN A BACKUP
One active backup is contained in an iTunes backup and each time an new backup is created the previous backup is overwritten.  An iTunes backup contains the following information:
Contacts* and Contact Favorites (regularly sync contacts to a computer or cloud service such as iCloud to back them up).
App Store Application data including in-app purchases (except the Application itself, its tmp and Caches folder).
Application settings, preferences, and data, including documents.
    Autofill for webpages.
    CalDAV and subscribed calendar accounts.
    Calendar accounts.
    Calendar events.
    Call history.
Camera Roll (Photos, screenshots, images saved, and videos taken. Videos greater than 2 GB are backed up with iOS 4.0 and later.)
Note: For devices without a camera, Camera Roll is called Saved Photos.
    Game Center account.
    Home screen arrangement.
    In-app purchases.
Keychain (this includes email account passwords, Wi-Fi passwords, and passwords you enter into websites and some other applications. If you encrypt the backup with iOS 4 and later, you can transfer the keychain information to the new device. With an unencrypted backup, you can restore the keychain only to the same iOS device. If you are restoring to a new device with an unencrypted backup, you will need to enter these passwords again.)
List of External Sync Sources (MobileMe, Exchange ActiveSync).
Location service preferences for apps and websites you have allowed to use your location.
Mail accounts (mail messages are not backed up).
Installed Profiles. When restoring a backup to a different device, installed configuration profiles are not restored (such as accounts, restrictions, or anything which can be specified through an installed profile.) Any accounts or settings that are not associated with an installed profile will still be restored.
Map bookmarks, recent searches, and the current location displayed in Maps.
    Microsoft Exchange account configurations.
Network settings (saved Wi-Fi hotspots, VPN settings, network preferences).
Nike + iPod saved workouts and settings.
    Notes.
    Offline web application cache/database.
Paired Bluetooth devices (which can only be used if restored to the same phone that did the backup).
Safari bookmarks, cookies, history, offline data, and currently open pages.
Saved suggestion corrections (these are saved automatically as you reject suggested corrections).
Messages (iMessage and carrier SMS or MMS pictures and videos).
Trusted hosts that have certificates that cannot be verified.
    Voice memos.
Voicemail token. (This is not the voicemail password, but is used for validation when connecting. This is only restored to a phone with the same phone number on the SIM card).
    Wallpapers.
    Web clips.
    YouTube bookmarks and history.
    * Your contacts are part of the backup to preserve recent calls and favorites lists. Back up your contacts to a supported personal information manager (PIM), iCloud, or another cloud-based service to avoid any potential contact data loss.
There are three backups saved in iCloud and the following information is contained in an iCloud backup (see http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5347):
Purchased music, movies, TV shows, apps, and books
Photos and videos in your Camera Roll
    Device settings
    App data
    Home screen and app organization
    Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS)
    Ringtones
    Visual Voicemail
