About the proxy servlet!!!!!
Hi there,
I need to us the proxy servlet to redirect requests that cannot be served by
my weblogic server to another server. I'm using the following configuration
parameters in my weblogic.properties file:
weblogic.httpd.defaultServlet=proxy
weblogic.httpd.register.proxy=weblogic.t3.srvr.HttpProxyServlet
weblogic.httpd.initArgs.proxy=redirectURL=http://www.abc.com
The problem that I'm facing is that instead of redirecting requests that
cannot be satisfied by my server to www.abc.com, the proxy servlet is
redirecting all the requests to www.abc.com...
Any help would be appreciated..
Thanks
Gaurav
Gaurav:
The proxy servlet documentation is wrong.
If the HttpProxyServlet registration is made the default servlet then, all
request for servlet aliases that WebLogic cannot resolve it will proxy. This
does not include files.
I have filed an issue to:
1. fix the documentation
2. provide an enhancement to provide for the feature you desire.
The only workaround currently is to also register (or maybe instead) whatever
URI or mime-types you know you want proxied to the HttpProxyServlet.
Cheers
Mark G.

How does a proxy servlet work and how to set up
I'm a newbie to Weblogic, using 8.1SP3. I came across documentation about a Proxy Servlet that allow weblogic to proxy requests to another web server. This is the scenerio I'm trying to set up. I want to create a weblogic module that proxies to yahoo.com. The communications between weblogic and yahoo may not be SSL, but from weblogic back to my client is SSL. I created a yahoo directory under user-projects\domains\mydomain. I created a WEB-INF\web.xml with the following based on the documentation:
<!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC
"-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN"
"http://java.sun.com/j2ee/dtds/web-app_2_3.dtd">
<web-app>
<servlet>
<servlet-name>ProxyServlet</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>weblogic.servlet.proxy.HttpProxyServlet
</servlet-class>
<init-param>
<param-name>redirectURL</param-name>
<param-value>http://www.yahoo.com:80</param-value>
</init-param>
</servlet>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>ProxyServlet</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>ProxyServlet</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>ProxyServlet</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>*.htm</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>ProxyServlet</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>*.html</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
</web-app>
I deploy the yahoo directory from the admin console and when I go to https://localhost:7002/
I would expect to see the www.yahoo.com page. Am I missing something. Is this not what the proxy servlet is for, is the above possible? Any help and suggestions appreciated.
--SamHey Anders, it's working....
Believe it or not, all I did after adding the weblogic.xml was restart the bea server; even though I had redeployed the module.
So, thank you very much for your patience and suggestions.

Error in proxy servlet implementation
Hi all,
I have implemented a simple proxy servlet. My requirement is whenever a call is made to the servlet , the servlet must make a http call to the particular site, make a request for the content and then display the same in the browser.
At present i am able to fetch the html content, but i am facing problem in retrieving the sources such as .js,.css files and also the alignment of the site is totally wrong.
The code that i use in the servlet is as follows:
HttpResponse resp = makeCall(request, "www.google.co.in");
InputStream inReader = resp.getEntity().getContent();
InputStreamReader stmReader = new InputStreamReader(inReader);
BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(stmReader);
StringBuilder szResultBuilder = new StringBuilder(1000);
if (reader != null) {
String line = reader.readLine();
while (line != null) {
szResultBuilder.append(line);
line = reader.readLine();
ServletOutputStream out = response.getOutputStream();
out.write(szResultBuilder.toString().getBytes());
out.flush();
out.close();
public static HttpResponse makeCall(HttpServletRequest request, String szURL) throws Exception {
HttpResponse response = null;
if(request.getMethod().equals("POST")) {
HttpPost post = new HttpPost(szURL);
response = httpClient.execute(post);
} else if(request.getMethod().equals("GET")){
HttpGet get = new HttpGet(szURL);
response = httpClient.execute(get);
return response;
Kindly help me in retrieving the entire content of the site and in displaying it. How can i retrieve the entire content for all the sites the user requests.
Regards,

You will have to understand how html works. On first request, the entire html as text is sent to the browser. When the browser begins interpreting the html and comes across a js or css tag, it makes a new request to the browser for these resources (unless it is already cached on the browser).
The request for this js resource would point back to the server which served the html unless of course the resource url is absolute.
Knowing that, you see the problem now? Your js (and css and images) would all point back to the server that runs your proxy servlet. However the resources reside on the remote server from where you plucked the html. You have 3 options IMO
1. Rewrite the original urls in the proxy servlet to point to the proxy servlet which would then proxy these resources back from the remote server back to the browser.
2. Have absolute urls for all resource urls and expose the remote server to the web.
3. Take a look at Clipper technology (google for Web Clipper).

The problem about http proxy.
Dear all,
I am trying develop a java program by following the SAP NetWaver Library.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/c4/e1343e8c7f6329e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
But it always catches the IllegalArgumentException because XI server isn't allowed for the direct connect to the URL like "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema".
Please advise me how to establish the connect to the target URL by the proxy server using user authorization and apply to this development.
The developing code:
try {
DocumentBuilderFactory docBuilderFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
docBuilderFactory.setNamespaceAware(true);
docBuilderFactory.setValidating(true);
docBuilderFactory.setAttribute("http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaLanguage", "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema");
docBuilderFactory.setAttribute("http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaSource","Schemafile");
DocumentBuilder docBuilder = docBuilderFactory.newDocumentBuilder();
Document doc = docBuilder.parse("myXMLfile");
} catch(DOMException domException) {
domException.printStackTrace();
} catch(IllegalArgumentException illegalArgumentException){
illegalArgumentException.printStackTrace();
Thanks & Regards,
RedI think your xml and your xsd are not found on the server.

Has any one used a proxy servlet with reports to hide all the URL parms???
We are about to try this, so just wanted to see if any one has an comments or suggestions.Just in case you do not know the following
You can also use cgicmd.dat file for mapping key-value pairs and then use the key in url
The file is in $OH\reports\conf\cgicmd.dat
you can define key like
mykey1: report=test.rdf .....<other comd line args>
and
use key in url
http://machine/servlet/rwservlet?mykey1
More examples in that file itself

A problem about the policy of RMS which is added more than 500 principals
Hello specialists ,
I've a question about RMS , when I added more than about 500 principals (users & groups ) into a policy in the RMS , it will report an error for any operation about the policy , and I find the error message as followed (for theconvenience, I paste all of the logs in the weblogic).
We have tested all of our environments : Weblogic , JBoss , Websphere , each of them makes the same mistake . those operations include : try to open the documents protected by this kind of policies , to disable or enable the policies, to look the detail from the "adminui" . when decreasing the principals for this kind of policy to almost 450 (I am not sure the clearly number) with java code , the results will be ok .
So anyone can help me ? It's really very important for us , becuase our customer refused to pay the left money of this project till this problem is resolved . and I have reported this problem to the Enterprise Support in Indian (the case is :181916446), but , obviously , it seems they are burning my patience . At the same time , I think it's a problem of the product , I think the SQL is really very bad ,at least , not so good .
Any help will be very appreciated !

Problems with the Proxy Programme--Please help
Hi All,
I have written a simple proxy server in the form of a servlet. I changed the proxy config of my browser to connect to this servlet hosted on the default context(http://localhost:8080) of the Tomcat 5.0.25 . Well , this servlet internally connects to the proxy of the corporate LAN . The logic that I have applied is as follows. The servlet gets the request from the client (ie the browser in this case) , extracts the headers and contents from the request, sets them to a new request that it forms and finally send this new request to the proxy. When the proxy responds, the servlet collects the response headers and contents adn writes them in its response. To sum up , this servlet transparently carries the requests and responses between the client(browser) and the corporate LAN proxy. Now the problem is this. Let's say , now I am accessing http://www.google.com.The browser sends a request to my servlet with the following headers as they are extracted by my servlet.
ProxyServer:::>posting request
ProxyServer:::>headerValue::> headerName = accept : headerValue=*/*
ProxyServer:::>headerValue::> headerName = referer : headerValue=http://www.google.com/
ProxyServer:::>headerValue::> headerName = accept-language : headerValue=en-us
ProxyServer:::>headerValue::> headerName = proxy-connection : headerValue=Keep-Alive
ProxyServer:::>headerValue::> headerName = user-agent : headerValue=Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; UB1.4_IE6.0_SP1; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)
ProxyServer:::>headerValue::> headerName = host : headerValue=www.google.com
ProxyServer:::>headerValue::> headerName = cookie : headerValue=PREF=ID=1be27c0a74f198ca:TM=1082058853:LM=1082058853:S=bu6ORrygzm8AUkm8
ProxyServer:::>postRequest
I set these headers into a new connection opened to the proxy and post a fresh request to the proxy,which, in turn responds with the following headers.
ProxyServer:::>posted request successfully
ProxyServer:::>writing response
ProxyServer:::>writeResponse-->headerName = Proxy-Connection : headerValue = [close]
ProxyServer:::>writeResponse-->headerName = Content-Length : headerValue = [257]
ProxyServer:::>writeResponse-->headerName = Date : headerValue = [Tue, 13 Jul 2004 14:01:40 GMT]
ProxyServer:::>writeResponse-->headerName = Content-Type : headerValue = [text/html]
ProxyServer:::>writeResponse-->headerName = Server : headerValue = [NetCache appliance (NetApp/5.5R2)]
ProxyServer:::>writeResponse-->headerName = Proxy-Authenticate : headerValue = [Basic realm="Charlotte - napxyclt2"]
ProxyServer:::>writeResponse-->headerName = null : headerValue = [HTTP/1.1 407 Proxy Authentication Required]
ProxyServer:::>writeResponse exiting
ProxyServer:::>wrote response successfully
I write these headers back to the client. According to what I was thinking, the client ie the browser would open a new dialog box asking for username/password owing to the presence of the "Proxy-Authenticate " header. But it does not happen that way. Rather the browser stops responsding and displays a blank page. Does anyone know why it happens this way? I am pasting the server prog below for everybody's reference.

URLConnection objects go through two phases: first they are created, then they are connected.
After being created, and before being connected, various options can be specified
(e.g., doInput and UseCaches). After connecting, it is an error to try to set them.
Operations that depend on being connected, like getContentLength, will implicitly perform the connection,
if necessary.

Thanks for your reply. Well , I initially I thought of not pasting the code,as it was too long. But I could not help it,as I thought I must show in code what I exactly meant. That's why I followed a description of my problem with the code. You could probably have copied the code and pasted it in one of your favourite editors to take a look at it. Did you,by any chance, try to read it on the browser? And as regards reposting the same message, I can say that I did it as I felt the subject was not quite appropriate in the first posting and I was not sure as to how I could delete/alter the posting. I am not asking for a code-fix,but some suggestions from some one who might ever have come across such a thing.Anyway, lemme know if you have any idea on it. Thanks... -
Passing different values to the same servlet
Hi,
Is there a way to pass different values to the same servlet?
Background:
I have a database that I query to acquire a list of customers, then I show each customer as a link, that when clicked will show details of that customer. (The customer table is dynamic so I can't create a new page for each customer)
When using JSP what I do is
//Do query database
while (rst.next())
String cust = rst.getString ("cust");
out.write("<a href = \"cust2.jsp?cust=" + cust + " \" >" + cust + "</a> ");
}Then on the cust2.jsp. I will use
String str = request.getParameter ("cust");to acquire the customer to get details of.
Is there a way to do the same using servlets?
I could swap to JSP when creating this particular part of the project but it won't look good and it would help me learn a few things when there is another way.I want to know if there is a way to pass a variable from a webpage link like in my JSP example using servlets.
Here is what I wanted to do:
I have a webpage that contains customer names and each name has a link to the same servlet (let's say the link is famia/servb). I want servb to show detailed information about the customer my visitor clicked in the webpage.
The logic I was thinking is to pass a variable to this servlet, then I can use that variable to know which customer should I query in my database. So that I can show the details to my users.
Here lies my problem, I don't know how I can pass this variable, or even know which customer my visitor clicked. I can't use a new servlet for each client since the customer is in a database and if my customer base grows then I would need to create a lot more web page that does the same thing.
The JSP example I gave is how I will be coding it if I am using JSP, but now I am using servlets. So I was wodnering if there is a way to do this using servlet. Or should I stay with using JSP for this particular logic and just call servb after the JSP page acquired the variable.
I'm trying not to use "<original URL> + ? + <variable> = <value>" (eg: http://www.famia.net/customer?cust=famia) as the means for passing the variable. (or in the example as a means of passing variable cust with value famia) -

ChandanaMake sure that you are using non-xa datasources and in DBAdapter outbound connection pool configuration provide the data source JNDI in "dataSourceName" property instead of "xADataSourceName" property. Update the DBAdapter after changing configuration.

Question about the choice of containers of the J2EE application server
Hello,
I need to be clarified about the J2EE technology. After read some documentation about J2EE, I saw that it is possible to use different kind of containers in order to develop a J2EE application.
Actually I use an application server (JONAS) with tomcat embbeded so I develop my application that is composed by EJB and servlet. So when I build and deploy my application at the end I have got a .ear, and everything works well.
But my questions are:
1- If I installe a J2EE server where a web server (Tomcat or another) is already installed can I use this web server as my web container.
2- If it is possible how can I indicate to my J2EE server that I want to use this web server as a web container?
3- And for my application does the .ear will work or do I have to split my entire application in .jar for the EJB and .WAR for the servlet.
4- My last question, how my .war and .jar will know that they have to work together, in fact do I have to precise a link between them if yes how?
Thank you very much for any information1. Every J2EE server must have a web container, so one will always be installed. As long as you write a compliant .war that is deployed either stand-alone or as part of an .ear, you can be guaranteed it will deploy and run.
2. The fact that you are deploying a .war or an .ear that contains 1 or more .wars is enough for the J2EE product to know you need to run the web-application on the web container. Many people uses the terms
web server and web container interchangeably. Often people are more likely to use the term web server if it runs as a separate process. If it helps, you can think of the J2EE web container as being an implementation of a servlet and jsp container that runs on top of a regular HTTP engine, but J2EE vendors don't necessarily have to have separate products for each.
3. You can either deploy a standalone .war or embed 1 or more .wars within an .ear.
4. The fact that you have a .war and an ejb-jar within the same .ear tells the application
server that they're part of the same application. If you need to talk between your web application
and the ejb, there are number of ways to express that dependency. E.g., if you want to invoke on
an ejb through its Remote client view, you would define an ejb-ref in the environment of the web-application.

Know more detail about the Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One ?
SAP Business One 9.1 is about to release this year and we can see in the feature enhancements that a significant update is planned in the Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One, more commonly known as RSP. Let’s have a quick look what update is planned for RSP in version 9.1:
Enhancements planned in Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One 9.1
RSP is planned to support both SAP Business One on Microsoft SQL Server as well as SAP Business One on HANA Database
RSP Processes and Reports adapted to SAP HANA Database
With this plan RSP will help in the areas of Download, Installation, Go-Live Check, Monitoring, Upgrade and Support for SAP Business One both on SQL Server and HANA.
But like me (non-SAP B1 Consultant) many of you have the question what is RSP and how it helps in support? Here I have tried to gather all information.
What is Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One?
The remote support platform for SAP Business One is designed to protect a SAP Business One installation by providing automated and remote support in a high-volume business.
The platform monitors the entire SAP Business One environment. By significantly reducing the time between the appearance, identification, and resolution of issues, the remote support platform for SAP Business One minimizes the impact on customer databases and processes.
Some Key Features of Remote Support Platform:
Showing alerts to SAP B1 Admin about the events which require their attention, such as low disk space, database backups, etc.
Incident Reports against the issues identified which require attention of SAP Support
Company Database Backup and Restore options
Regular fixes of Company Database inconsistencies
Check, Download and Install regular updates in SAP Business One
Upload Logs and required files to SAP Support or to Partner Support on regular basis
Some details about RSP Backup Management
Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly backups
Perform differential and full database backups
Back up transaction logs

System Status Report through RSP
From June 1st 2013, it will be mandatory to install, configure and upload the System Status Report (SSR) from Remote Support Platform (RSP) for SAP Business One in order to receive support for messages of a technical nature (upgrades, performance & crashes, etc).
Database uploads only via RSP
From June 1st 2013 SAP Business One Support will only accept database uploads to SAP via remote support platform for SAP Business One. In certain exceptional circumstances STFP may be used but this will constitute a minority of cases.
Microsoft Windows PowerShell Scripting
In the remote support platform studio, you can create tasks using Microsoft Windows PowerShell scripting. PowerShell enables you to perform remote administrative tasks on customers’ Microsoft Windows operating systems, by providing full access to Component Object Model (COM) and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).Some Network Prerequisite for RSP
To achieve the internet connection test, you must allow port 80 for the RSP external communication
Disabling antivirus firewall or add the RSP to the trusted zone of the antivirus
Set the correct proxy
Disabling Windows firewall in the TP_link Wireless Configuration Utility
Want to now More about It Click Here : Remote Support Platform for SAP Business OneSAP Business One 9.1 is about to release this year and we can see in the feature enhancements that a significant update is planned in the Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One, more commonly known as RSP.
Back up files to shared folders on a network

I am receiving the above message for internal Outlook 2013 users when they open Outlook. Despite this message, Outlook is fully functional. External OA users do not see this message. We are using an SRV record for our autodiscover and pointing it to the
name on the single cert we have. I've also already changed the outlookprovider record in Exchange. Any ideas?
TIA!Hi Alceryes,
According to the error message, Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server (Error Code 10),
it seems an issue on the Certificate side.
FLAG_CERT_CN_INVALID 0x00000010
More details to see following KB:

Would you like to tell me the reason that why you are using SRV record for Autodiscover?
I find a FAQ on Autodisocover for your reference, hope it is helpful:

Hi all,
From time to time (at least once a day), the following message pops up on the user's screen:
"There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server . Error Code 80000000)."
If we click "OK" it goes away and everything continues to work although sometimes Outlook disconnects. It is quite annoying...
Any ideas?
Thank you in advanceHi,
For the security alert issue, I'd like to recommend you check the name in the alert windows, and confirm if the name is in your certificate.
Additionally, to narrow down the cause, when the Outlook client cannot connect again, I recommand you firstly check the connectivity by using Test E-mail AutoConfiguration. For more information, you can refe to the following article:
