About the server handle status:OCI_ATTR_SERVER_STATUS

Hi All
From time to time, my OCI application got ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel. I add one function to dectect if server connection is fine.
by
OCIAttrGet((dvoid *)svr, OCI_HTYPE_SERVER, (dvoid *)&serverStatus, (ub4 *)0, OCI_ATTR_SERVER_STATUS, err);
if serverStatus=OCI_SERVER_NORMAL, then connection is ok.
if serverStatus=OCI_SERVER_NOT_CONNECTED then connnecion is gone.
, will reconnect.
But i found seems it does not detect te case for "end-of-file on communication channel". serverStatus return is fine, then execute command, still got this error.
any comments?

Hi,
The rejection handler only comes into the picture when the input data is invalid as per the schema definition. i.e. you can reject invalid data so that it can be corrected and enqueued again. You can choose to set up your rejection handling mechanisms in bpel.xml.

i compiled my tag handler class and stored the Source and class files in the WEB-INF\classes directory.
i created a descriptor file and saved it in WEB-INF\jsp directory.
i placed my jsp file in the jsp-examples folder.
then i started the server and executed the jsp file.

How to send a mail about the test plan status

I have finished the development of ecatt automation test cases.
And I have integrated the ecatt automation test cases into the test plan of TWB.
I have scheduled a job in background to run the test plan.
After the job has finished, I need to send a email to related users to tell them the status of each test cases in the test plan.
Is there any way to implement it?

Basic questions about the CM handling of Photoshop

I have some basic questions how Potoshop handles colour management. Most probably this has been discussed many times before, but frankly, the manual is pretty poorly written on this subject. I do understand the principle of colour management pretty well, but am not sure whether I understand what Photoshop is doing. So could somebody please comment whether my reasoning is correct or not.
Let's assume my monitor is calibrated and its profile loaded in OSX's monitor preference panel. Let's further assume I'm working strictly in RGB.
Is the following correct:
• When I open a picture which has an embedded profile, then Photoshop first calculates the "true" values from the embedded profile (whatever this means) and from this point the screen representation based on the profile which I defined in the system pref pane. So the screen representation remains always the same, regardless of the embedded profile (besides some possible conversion artefacts, especially on the edges of the colour space).
• The same holds true in the opposite direction, so when I work on that picture on screen, then no matter which RGB space I pick as my working space, the result will always be exactly the same (except those aforementioned artefacts).
• Hence it doesn't matter which RGB colour space I choose as my working space, it could be sRGB, Adobe RGB, "my own wild profile", whatever, the results are always the same. Of course the RGB values will differ, but this will be compensated by the embedded profile.
• Yet the theoretically best working space is the colour space of my monitor, because this minimizes possible artefacts.
• When I "convert" the picture from one profile into an other, then not only that new profile is assigned and embedded, but also the RGB values are recalculated accordingly, so that the result will remain the same. For example, I could first "convert" a picture from the camera space to my monitor space, then work on it, and finally "convert" it to sRGB before uploading it to a web site.
• When I "assign" a new profile, then a new profile is simply assigned and embedded but the RGB values are not adjusted. So the RGB values remain the same, but because a different profile is embedded, the picture will actually be changed. Since Photoshop will recalculate the screen representation based on that new profile (and the monitor profile), I will see this change on the screen. (This action doesn't make much sense, except maybe to simulate the possible outcome on a system which misinterprets the profile, e.g. assumes sRGB.)
• And finally, when I leave the picture untouched but change the monitor profile in the system pref pane, then of course the picture will not change, but its screen representation will change, because Photoshop uses that profile to calculate the screen representation. (This action makes even less sense, of course.)
Have I understood? Then I have two final questions:
• When I open a RGB file without any profile in it, what does Photoshop assume? How does it calculate the screen display? What does it do if I "convert" such a picture or "assign" a profile?
• If I select in the colour settings as working color space the monitor space, then the colour managment rule for RGB changes to "Colour management off" and can't be changed to a different value. I don't understand this.

(Edit: Any one screen usually has to be considered incidental, changing and transient and is not the target-medium, so it makes little sense to work based on its specific limitations.)

If one opens an unprofiled file, Photoshop treats it as if it had the profile selected under RGB-Working-Space embedded and calculates display and conversion on that basis.
(Edit: And that’s the danger of unprofiled files – they would look different if someone edited them who used a different Working Space.)
Assigning such a file a profile is no different from assigning a profiled image a different profile – the RGB-values remain unchanged, the »key« for interpreting them changes and subsequently it will be displayed differently.

Connected Operations Manager - VMM, can see the server and status - cannot see Summary Data

I was able to connect OpMgr SP 1 and System Center R2 VMManager. I was able to discover my servers and SQL Servers. I am getting the Red X in the Database Summary on the OpMgr Dashboards (Free Space and Performance), I am able to see the Databases.
The error message is below, I have tried 5 things from the internet with no solution yet. Before I make a big mistake, I would like a second opinion. This is my first time installing OprManager. Thanks

The lotus mail about the Background Job status

Hi ,
I have a requirement where SAP users want the status of the background job in their lotus mail.The problem is job takes run for more than 15-20 hours and some times gets failed too.Whichever is the status , they want the update. The job is run daily in the night.So can not be done in the same program. Writng different program to check and send the mail can be an option.
But My question would be
1.Is there SAP standard funtionality /progarm to send the job log (not the spool) in the mail?

You can run another job in background which can monitor this original program. I would die and schedule itself in an hour for next status. the logic goes this way.
1) The original Z program call the Z job monitor prog with jobname.
2) The Z job monitor prog checks the status of job and will send a status mail on finished or cancelled.
3) if the job is still active, the z job monitor prog will schedule itself for after an hour to check the status again.
thus steps 2 & 3 would be in loop till the original z prog finishes or gets cancelled.

Oracle 9i , what starts the server process

I'm reading the documentation about the server process which communicates with the client process eg sqlplus. But I'm not sure about how the server process is started. Imagine a server where the instance is not running . I log in via sqlplus /nolog , connect as sysdba and execute the startup command. According to the documentation it is the server process which starts the instance , but what starts the server process. Perhaps it is the sqlplus process. And if i log in using sqlplus over the network , I communicate with the listner, in this case is it the listener which starts the server process. ?

DNS not resolving on the server - resolves fine on the LAN

Hello all - I just had an odd experience and I thought I'd share it, hopefully gathering some comments.
I performed a fresh install of Tiger Server on my PowerMac last night, with the intention of testing the installer's ability to set up services, particularly Open Directory.
I enabled DNS, AFP, and Open Directory in the installer (first boot after install). The server configured itself and when I logged into admin for the first time I went to Server Admin, where I found DNS, AFP, and Open Directory running. This suprised me as Open Directory was always a bear to get Kerberos running correctly, and here I found Kerberos was running even though there were no entries in DNS.
I went about configuring the rest of my services, DHCP, NAT, Firewall, and so on. When I finally open Workgroup Manager to add some OD users, I find I cannot create home folders. I head to Terminal where I find this:
server:/ admin$ host 10.1.1.1
Host 1.1.1.10.in-addr.arpa not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
server:/ admin$ host server.ishcabittle.private
Host server.ishcabittle.private not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
The server cannot see itself for some reason. I had set up a nameserver, server.ishcabittle.private residing on the router address of 10.1.1.1 in my local subnet. I made sure that the DNS server 10.1.1.1 was listed on my subnet's ethernet interface, Built-in Ethernet.
host -v 10.1.1.1 returns the same, only listing a Comcast server for some reason. My guess is that setting up DNS during install hard wired the comcast DNS server as the permanent nameserver. I've edited /etc/hosts to include 10.1.1.1 server.ishcabittle.private, I've edited hostconfig to include HOST=server.ishcabittle.private (although I've read that 10.4.6-7 doesn't need this entry, it was the only thing that got Kerberos running on my previous install). Not sure what else to do.
Is there a permanent DNS record established during install? If so, where can I find this config file? None of these contain what I'm looking for:
/private/etc/.hostconfig.swp
/private/etc/hostconfig
/private/etc/hostconfig.personal
/private/etc/hosts
/private/etc/hosts.equiv
/private/etc/hosts.lpd
I'm pretty much going to reinstall anyway, I'll most likey do so without the cable modem plugged in.

Thanks Leif. I managed to get most things working as you'd expect, except that I am uncertain about the setup when it comes to Open Directory. The DNS I setup on my server maps the WAN IP to the server name, so OD ends up on the WAN IP. Is this not a security concern?
I have DHCP working for the LAN side on the secondary ethernet port, which means all of my clients are on a different subnet from the OD. Also, my DNS is setup on the WAN IP and not the LAN IP, so there is no DNS to nicely set names to IPs for the LAN side. I did try setting up another zone for the LAN side, but then I received some sort of mis-match error (can't recall if it was from OD or changeip or what) - something about the machine handling two different IPs each with a unique name.
At one point I had shared folders working (broken now, ugh) and an account under Workgroup Manager showed this under Account Summary:
Location: WAN-IP/LDAPv3/127.0.0.1
Home: afp://LAN-IP/Users/username
Maybe this is nothing unusual, but I am new to this so apologies if this is obvious. I was under the impression DNS, DHCP, and OD should be running only on the LAN side, but I have not been able to do this because OD must run on the primary interface (which connects to the WAN). It just seems a bit odd to me that I would be running a DNS on a WAN IP when all I really need is a DNS for the LAN side ... is this just a limitation caused by the primary interface needing to be the WAN interface and the OD IP?
Would kindly appreciate a clarification on this.

Trying to setup an Exchange 2013 server, with the DC and Exchange on same machine. WHen I try to deliver for either of the 2 mailboxes I have setup, I get this error.
The server returned status code 451 - Error in processing. The server response was: 4.7.0 Temporary server error. Please try again later. PRX3
It doesn't seem to be a resource issue (I'm running an XL instance on Azure), and all other connectivity works fine (and fast). I just can't receive email there.
Looking in the event logs, I saw one issue related to the Front End HTTP proxy, but I wouldn't assume that's relevant here. (And connectivity via Outlook & OWA seem to be fine, with the exception
of some redirect issues on the latter).
I did end up installing Exchange on a secondary drive for space considerations, so the location is different... not sure if that would factor in either.
Any ideas? I don't even really know where to start debugging this. I'm trying to set this up to work on some event sync/forwarding code.

Ok, I think I solved my problem but figured I would update here for others who may be running into the same issue.
In my \Exchange\TransportRoles\Logs\FrontEnd\ProtocolLog\SmtpReceive\*.LOG, I found more detailed information on the issue.

Attempted failover to alternate host, but that did not succeed. Either there are no alternate hosts, or delivery failed to all alternate hosts. The last endpoint attempted was 10.10.10.1:2525"
I thought creating an endpoint for 25 would be sufficient, but once I created another endpoint for 2525 then my tests started working.

I just setup an exchange 2013 server with hosted with the same machine of Active Domain Controller.
I tested the connectivity of the server , i found that the mailbox can only send email to external mailbox however it cant receive any mail neither from external mail nor internal mail.
I ran a test from exchange connectivity analyzer for inbound mail and it failed with the following message.

I did a search on this forum and found the following thread

I am unable to sign in to iCloud because of a problem with the server, but I cant access other Apple services.

I have tried repeatedly to sign in to iCloud but receive a message about the server; however, I can sign in to iTunes and other Apple sites.
Has any one encoutered this problem?

I found the answer for my PC. The login does not work with IE which I noticed was the browser used as the default. But, I opened iCloud.com in FF and everything went smoothly.

I need to read the locale of the server in java program. how to read the locale of the server.
Kindly help me.

If your code is running on the server, then:
Locale default = Locale.getDefault();If it isn't, then you'll have to tell us about the protocol you have put in place whereby clients can request that information from the server.
You didn't do that? Then your clients can't get the default locale from the server.
Or you could tell us why you need to do that. Generally the client doesn't care about the server's locale. If you think it does, maybe that's a proposed solution to some other problem.
