Absolute url from h:form

I need to send form data to an absolute url which is a jsp page out of my application.
What should be in the attribute of CommandButton for this?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Dear Sir, I have read your articles in your blog. http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/03/post-redirect-get-pattern.html I have also posted a comment on this too. Frankly I am not an expert but I am learning jsf. I can still accomplish the task in jsp and html. But I want to learn JSF.
I have the following case. I want all the <h:form> input data passed to an external url which reads them via the parameters names.
I have created the following form in "process.jsp"
<h:form prependId="false" id="form2" >
          <h:outputText value="Applicant Name: "></h:outputText>
          <h:outputText value="#{appbean.applicantName}" id="name"></h:outputText><br>
          <h:outputText value="AAMC ID" />
          <h:outputText value="#{appbean.aamcId}" id= "aamcid"></h:outputText><br>
          <h:outputText value="Applicant EmailId" />
          <h:outputText value="#{appbean.email}" id="email"></h:outputText><br>
          <h:inputHidden value="3.2" id="Version"></h:inputHidden>
          <h:inputHidden value="238098" id="Identifier"></h:inputHidden>
          <h:inputHidden id="Order_Items" value="0"></h:inputHidden>
          <h:inputHidden id="Order_Price" value="60"></h:inputHidden>
          *<h:commandButton  action="??" value="Process Payment" type="submit"></h:commandButton> *
          </h:form>My appbean is as follows.
public class ChmAppBean {
     public ChmAppBean() {
     private String email;
     private String aamcId;
     private String applicantName;
                public String getEmail() {
          return email;
     public String getAamcId(){
          return aamcId;
     public String getApplicantName(){
          return applicantName;
     public void setEmail(String email){
          this.email = email;
     public void setAamcId(String aamcId){
          this.aamcId = aamcId;
     public void setApplicantName(String applicantName){
          this.applicantName = applicantName;
}what should be there in the action="??" following code *<h:commandButton action="??" value="Process Payment" type="submit"></h:commandButton> *
Your help is greatly appreciated in this regards. Kindly help..

  • Calling url from a form - err using ".value" method

    I'm trying to call url from a form, which seems to be the subject of many of these Posts.
    I have a form with a combo box/LOV and a button. The LOV will read a url into the combo box from a table of url's.
    I used the following code in the "OnClick" Java Script Event Handler section, which I pieced together from other posts in this and other forums. (i.e. I'm a pl/sql programmer trying to use Java Scripts for the first time).
    OnClick
    var X = FORM_DRWING.DEFAULT.A_DRILLDOWN_PATH.value;
    run_form(x);
    When I attempt to run this form from the "manage" window, I get a run time error "FORM_DRWING is undefined" upon clicking the button. FORM_DRWING "IS" the name of the form!
    The runform() function in the "before displying form" pl/sql code section is
    htp.p('<script language="JavaScript1.3">
    < !--
    function runForm(v_link)
    window.open(V_LINK);
    //-->
    </script>');
    This code was from yet another Post.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Larry

    Hi Larry,
    the problem could be that you need to preface your form with 'document.'.
    i.e.
    var X = document.FORM_DRWING.DEFAULT.A_DRILLDOWN_PATH.value;

    Hi Sri,
    You will need to have a Show item for the form as the users will need to be able to view the contents of the form.
    Darin's idea for the email is a good one. You should create a group for all the intended recipients of the email and then configure them to receive notification on updates to the directory that you specify your XML forms to point to.
    SAP library has the answers.

  • Get browser url from 11g form?

    Is there any function to get the current url of the browser that the 11g form applet is running in?
    Or at least the server:port part?
    Thanks

    In version 11 you can use javascript to extract the browser url. For example:
    Declare
         JS_in      varchar2(32767);
         rtn     varchar2(1024);
    Begin
         -- JS_in is the javascript funtion you want to call.
         JS_in := 'location.href';
         rtn := WEB.JAVASCRIPT_EVAL_FUNCTION (JS_in);
         -- "rtn" should contain the complete URL as seen in the browser address bar.
         -- Do something with rtn.
    End;

  • Calling 10g Report from 6i Form

    A 6i client-server form has a call to a 10g report in the form of a URL.
    The HOST command calls Internet Explorer and with the URL appended. This, however, keeps the form locked until IE is closed.
    Is there a way around this or a better way to call a URL from 6i Forms?
    Thank you.

    Found an example. It seems to work fine.
    I believe this is replaced in Forms 10g by web.show_document though.
    win_api_shell.winexec(vcCommand, WIN_API.SW_SHOWNORMAL, FALSE);

  • How do i pass a URL through a form ??

    Hi,
    I want to open Internet Explorer through my form , may be from a Button. How do I dothat i.e. how do we pass URL from a form..
    Is it possible through host command ??
    Any one any comments ???

    Use the web.show_document, check the online help for more details. It will open the default browser.
    Ex :
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('http://www.oracle.com');
    Even the HOST command works :
    Ex:
    host('C:\Program Files\Netscape\Communicator\Program\netscape.exe www.oracle.com');

  • Calling a url from forms

    Hi!
    i have created a website using ARCIMS - (if you are not familiar with ARCIMS it is software that is used to create maps) I now want to call URL (website) from a button on my form. I have tried to use web.show_docuement and I am getting errors such as 'register failk'.
    I was able to run this same URL succesfuly from my browser. any ideas please?!?

    Kayla.
    web.show_document() is the right buit-in to do this and it works the same as calling a URL from a Browser. if it says "register failed" (not sure if I am correctimng your error message the right way) then this does not look like a Forms error message but one coming from teh program you call. Please check teh URL that is composed before calling web.show_document(). Check for invisible characters added to it.

  • Broken URL in executing forms from Form Builder (10g)

    From Form Builder I'm trying to execute a form "opened".
    I push "Run Form" button and i can see Explorer opening with a wrong URL :
    "http://%%20http://127.0.0.1:3696/4gjkr8swXxZKBJppfymDMZmBSac7cACualcFLIa3Vgsk6hmm"
    Obviously, "http://%%20" are wrong characters. If I erase them, I can see my form correctly executed. But I can't understand where are wrong characters .. in registry ?? ... in a configuration file ??
    From Form Builder, i can only change the "Application Url" from Preferences/Runtime tab, but this is the "second" URL, and not the First startup Url.
    Any helps ?

  • Back url from form?

    Hello.
    I have: a link, a report, a form
    When I set the link on a column on the report, it calls the form. (I also have edited the link so that the primary key columns are passed as parameters to the form to provide UPDATE/DELETE.)
    What I want to do is: Once the user submits the form, the form should redirect to the page where the report was displayed, and pass the parameters that were on that previous page. (basically, go back to where the user came from--exact url, which shows the update on the report) Does anyone know how to do this?
    The best solution would be for the form to open on the same page, then the form automatically refreshes the same url. Any ideas?
    (I have been looking at it too long, need fresh eyes/thoughts.!)
    Thanks!

  • How to open an URL from Forms in blocking mode?

    Can anyone tell me if it is possible to open a website from within forms in blocking mode? The reason why I have to use blocking mode is that the user has to take some action in the website and has to end that session explicitly with a button on the website. After that, a file is written on the server that is needed for further action. Without that file the process can't go on.
    I use Forms (32-bits) versie 10.1.2.0.2.

    Thanks for your answer.
    Your suggestion is only possible with a timer-trigger (correct me if I'm wrong). And that's the point.... The time the user can act in the website is unlimited. So, how to set up a timer-trigger? Another work around is to make a process that works at some time and searches for the files on the server. But that's not what we want to do.
    Does anyone have another idea?

  • Navigate to external URL from secured APEX server

    NOTE I am using the internal Oracle APEX server to host my application, so it may be possible that you will have to be an Oracle employee with the same access, or using a similar setup, in order to respond. Even if you are not, if you feel inclined to "take a swing" at it, keep this in mind.
    Hi all,
    I am using the internal APEX server at oracle to host an application (Application Express 4.0.2.00.07). I have other, NON-APEX applications hosted on other servers within the Oracle firewall.
    On page 0 of the APEX application (which, as you may know, usually displays as the "header" section of every other page in the application) I have created a select list of the other projects and their associated URLs as well as a "Go" button, so users that want to navigate to the other applications can do so from this application. Since page 0 does not seem to allow the creation of standard branch items (please correct me otherwise), I have created a process on that page triggered by the "Go" button. The process currently contains the following code:
    begin
    apex_application.g_unrecoverable_error := true;
    htp.p('<script language="JavaScript">
    window.open (:P0_PRODUCT_PAGES); <!-- :P0_PRODUCT_PAGES being the URL of the selected non-APEX application -->
    </script>');
    end;
    That code currently replaces the existing page with a blank page and the associated URL is "https://apex.oraclecorp.com/pls/apex/wwv_flow.accept". I am assuming this means that APEX was looking for an application ID and/or page and did not get it so it "stopped" at this page.
    I am unaware if there are any settings on the APEX server, DB,or associated web server preventing me from navigating outside of APEX once I am running the hosted application.
    I would like to launch another properly-sized (default) browser window rather than replace the existing window pointing to the URL for the selected application.
    I have also tried using the owa.util code to try to generate the proper URL but was likewise unsuccessful.
    NOTE: I am not looking for different ways to do this by changing server parameters, settings, etc. since I do not have server rights to do this. Additionally, due to time constraints, I would prefer not to be drawn in to a discussion of the comparisons and/or benefits of owa.util or javascript over the other for navigating to an external URL from within APEX, etc. (I'm not trying to be a "punk", but I AM under the gun to resolve this with very limited time). In light of this, please indicate if you have a working option to do this under similar conditions that I can implement quickly. I have done much research within the forums and Googled extensively for information from outside sources but have not yet found something that will provide the proper results.
    If you are an oracle employee and wish to contact me directly, please email me at [email protected]
    Crossing my fingers and hoping someone has done this before.
    Many thanks in advance; your useful contribution will actually contribute to lessening the world's INSOMINA factor considerably (mostly mine). ;)

    Opening a URL in a new tab or window has to happen in the browser, without submitting the page. The server doesn't know about browser windows. Use:
    onchange="window.open(this.value);" in the HTML Form Element Attributes property of <tt>P0_PRODUCT_PAGES</tt> (making the "Go" button unnecessary), or, if the "Go" button is required to match the LAF:
    onclick="window.open($v('P0_PRODUCT_PAGES'));"in the button Attributes property, ensuring the button is a template button including the <tt>#BUTTON_ATTRIBUTES#</tt> substitution string, e.g.
    <input type="button" value="#LABEL#" #BUTTON_ATTRIBUTES# />Ensure that absolute URLs are used in the <tt>P0_PRODUCT_PAGES</tt> where necessary, specifying the correct scheme for the site, so that you are not trying to go to <tt>{noformat}https://apex.oraclecorp.com/pls/apex/www.google.com{noformat}</tt> for example:
    f?FOO:BAR:&APP_SESSION.    // other APEX app hosted on apex.oraclecorp.com sharing the same authentication scheme
    https://foo.oraclecorp.com // other secured internal site
    http://www.google.com      // unsecured external site

    Calling the web service using JDeveloper works fine but when I complie in Oracle Forms it returns wrong number of types of arguments in call SENDHELLO.

    My primary skill is PL/SQL but the only information I found on Oracle's site to call a web service from a 10g Form was creating a jar file and importing the java class. Since I don't want to ask our corporate IT to make changes on the UNIX box for the jar files I went a different route.
    I use UTL_HTTP.BEGIN_REQUEST to call a URL then load I load the data to a table as a CLOB since we have more than 4000 characters. Now I need to parse the XML and load it into a form. I have never done this so if there is a helpful site please let me know. I have looked at several sites but none do what I want.
    Thanks
