AC3d conversion from AutoCAD2008 - blank screen

It must be something simple. When I convert my dwg to pdf I do not see the model. It shows in the model tree, but I can not find it. Also shows in Toolkit, I have the layout page...the model is there ...somewhere. Is there a Zoom Extens command?
Also when I am converting my .dwg I do not get the Conversion Dialog. (I am doing a tutorial here from MCAD, btw any other sources of good star-up tutorials?)
Thanks

Hi Laszlo,
Right-click the uppermost part in the model tree and select "Zoom to Part" from the context menu. This should get the model into view for you. Then create a new default view.

  • Need to prevent phone from ever blanking screen..

    locking as duplicate of [/questions/971909]
We have set the screen saver to "never". After a phone call the screen blanks and requires a on.off button push and unlocking. After a call the screen is blank. This is undesirable behavior for us and I am seeking a way to prevent it. I am writing an ap for a mildly disabled person. They cannot operate the on.off button on the zte open. They also have problems with the unlock mechanism for the screen which requires swiping from bottom towards the top. All swiping is dificult. They can successfully click on icons and anything bigger than the standard 60X60 icons used by the os. I want them to simply be able to make a phone call with a preset number. Currently the application I have pushed to the device does the following. It displays a screen with three commonly called emergency numbers with large icons. The user chooses one of these icons and the dialer is brought up with number already dialed in. The user then simply touches the green dial button and the number is dialed. This works exactly once. After the first time the disabled user cannot restart the application since the screen blanks and requires an on.off push and unlock to get back to a previous state.
    Current problems.
    1. The screen blanks after a call and requires too many unachievable steps to recover the full app. Recovering the app requires normally a push on the on.off and the unlock procedure, then a reclick to start the application. This is unachievable by disabled user. Incoming calls always work. Both incomming and utgoing calls remove ability of disabled user to make an outgoing call without intervention from care-taker. If screen did not blank during a call, the application would work .
    2. Miscellaneous problems.
    a. typing keyboard is difficult for abled users and impossible for disabled user.
    b. application could be better if the dial step was removed. We understand the security problem.
    c. We would like option for oversized icons, oversized text which we would balance with fewer applications on a single page.
Any solutions would be helpful. I/we are knowledgable programmers but we would prefer to write the a first application as a simple ap and not have to change the operating system in any way. If the above is only achievable with a change and reflashing OS we would consider that approach but currently we have not dived into that code and would prefer to avoid that approach. Is there a simple solution to force the phone to not turn off the display during or after a call that does not require a change to the OS?

  • Tried installing Windows Vista, cancelled install and now it won't boot from the OEM Vista DVD, all i get is BOOTMGR is missing error... Ctrl Alt Del to restart and when i turn the computer on i get a blank screen and pressing C is not working to boot....

    Topic says it all...
My friend started a installation of Windows Vista, but pulled out after deleting all partitions...
So now i power it on, get a blank screen (seems a bit gray because of backlighting, should show the apple logo right?)...
Then after like 15-20sec it will throw out a:
    BOOTMGR is missing
    Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart
I have a OEM Windows Vista DVD in the drive, and i know... Windows 7 is better... but i'm not that fond of stealing software from Microsoft and i have 10 licenses for Vista...
I have tried pressing C while booting up but it doesn't work...
Does anyone here have a magic soloution for me, and no i will not install MacOS on it !!!

Deleting Boot Camp partitions the conventional way will not work . You must use the Boot Camp Assistant to remove a Boot Camp partition. Here is a link to the guide.
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/Boot_Camp_Install-Setup_10.6.pdf
The way to restart is to hold down the option/alt key during startup* and then selecting the Mac OS. If you have a valid Boot Camp install of Windows it would show up during this type of start up.
    * hold down immediately after pressing the power button and until the OS choice screen appears.
    To summarize.
1 Use the above method to boot into Mac OS.
2 Download the instructions and read them.
3 Use Boot Camp Assistant to remove the partition.
4 Pick your friends more carefully.

  • Blank screen with xorg from testing

I've been trying to get this going for a while now, but  I keep hitting a brick wall.  Maybe someone can see something that I'm missing.
The system is a dell inspiron 5100 laptop with an ati radeon m7.
When X is started I get a blank screen, no backlight or anything, but otherwise everything seems to be started.  Ps shows that the wm is running along with conky and pypanel and the other stuff I autostart.  I can ctrl+alt+f2 into another console and start xev or xrandr connected to the x display and get the expected output.  Ctrl+alt+backspace will kill of the x server.  I don't see anything that looks to be out of the ordinary in the logs either.  I get the same result whether I use my old xorg config, a newly generated one, or none and let the server try to figure it out.  The problem seems to be with ati 6.6.192.  If I use 6.6.3 from current with the rest of the testing packages everything is fine.  I've yet to find anyone else who's having a similar problem.  Below are my xorg.conf and a log from it "failing", hopefully someone can see something that I'm missing.  There are some odd options set from various things I've found to try regarding ati and blank screens, if it seems weird thats probably how it got in there.

  • 2012 Mac Mini blank screen on wake from sleep in Mavericks

I just upgraded from Mt Lion to Mavericks and now my Mac Mini does not awake properly from sleep when I press a key on the keyboard.  It stays dark but I can type in my password even when I can't see the input space and then hit the return and it then the screen functions normally.  I have reset my SMC, zapped PRAM, ran Disk Utilities and DiskWarrior so I think I am covered on these.  I have a Asus monitor connected by HDMI.  Not sure what else to try.  I see the problem surfaces occasionally for other versions of OS X and for a variety of Macs.  Thanks.  Doug

Okay so here is more info as I have been experimenting with this.
Actually my second post is incorrect.  It does stay blank if I put it to sleep but here are the observations:
My Asus 247 monitor upon sleep will go blank and then after a few seconds will show a window saying no HDMI input detected then be blank.  The screen light changes from blue to amber at this point.
Once it is amber and I try to wake the Mac Mini, the light will change back to blue and the monitor displays a message saying HDMI input detected.  Then it stays blank but I can see my cursor in the corner and it displays on the blank screen.  I can move it around normally.
If at this point I turn off the monitor and turn it back on, the screen comes back to normal and I can type in my password and go from there.
In another case if the screen is blank, I can type my password in and then when I hit enter, it is functioning correctly.
I did not have this problem at all in Mt. Lion and nothing else has changed.
Any help/insights would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

  • My iPhoto '08 (v 7.1.5) shows a blank screen (no photos). How do I rebuild it from my iPhoto library.  Thanks!

My iPhoto '08 (v 7.1.5) shows a blank screen (no photos). How do I rebuild it from my iPhoto library.  Thanks!

Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download <a href="http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/"><b><u>iPhoto Library Manager</b></u></a> and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

I had to erase my hard drive and then reinstall everything back from my passport external hard drive. Now my iPhoto edit is not working. I get a blank screen when I want to edit. The photos show up in the library but I cannot edit them. Help?

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
*1. Permissions in the Library* : Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
*2. Minor Database corruption*: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
*3. A Damaged Photo*: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
*4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
*5. A corrupted preference file*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    If none of these help:
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
    Regards
    TD

  • Blank Screen while navigating from one screen to another in a web applicati

Blank Screen while navigating from one screen to another in a web application.
While navigating through the screens of the web-based application, I get blank screen at times. The application menu bar is still visible and the header and footer jsps are also still available. The main processing frame alone goes blank. Once I get the blank screen, I am able to choose from the menu option and contine navigating through the screens.
The application has been deployed on WebSphere Application Server v6.0 and uses JDK 1.4.2. I have checked the application, server and systemerr logs. And there are no exceptions in any of the log files. There is no difference in the logs for a normal flow and the flow when the blank screen occurs.
The blank screen does not occur always. It occurs around 3 out of 10 times. If you consider a particular page, mostly it loads normally and very few times, the blank screen occurs.
Compression filter is being used and it gets invoked for every request. Size before and after compression also gets printed in the logs.
Could this be causing any issue in terms of memory handled or could any jsp timeout be happening, though there are no exceptions in the logs.

Well, since no one has any ideas, here is my two cents worth:
Can you turn off compression and see if the problem goes away? If not, I suggest creating a small separate project with the same functionality as that part of the program that causes problems and see if you can duplicate it. Use System.out.println() in the java code and out.write() in the JSP pages throughout the java and JSP code to write to the log file or console as each section is run to see what section is causing problems. You can also consider commenting out sections of code in your JSP page to see if you can isolate the problem.
I had a similar problem with the screen being blank and this is what I found:
My JSP page had an include tag in it that included another JSP page. The outer JSP page was drawn and waited for the included JSP page to be drawn. The logic took several minutes to run and something timed out. The inner JSP page was never drawn. No log entry occurred. It appears that it was not Apache or Tomcat that caused the problem, but some firewall or similiar such device. If you have a firewall or similar device, see if the person who maintains it can temporarily set its timeout to a very long time (15 minutes) to see if the problem goes away. Apache and Tomcat probably also have a timeout feature too. You will have to read up on their configuration settings on how to set them.
By the way, each of those devices probably has its own log file you can read to see if its reporting an error.

  • Phone works great but when on a call proximity sensor kicks in turns off the screen. When I pull the phone away from my head screen is still blank. The force hangup/lock is the only way to bring the screen back on

    hi,
phone works great but when on a call proximity sensor kicks in turns off the screen. When I pull the phone away from my head screen is still blank. The force hangup/lock is the only way to bring the screen back on.
I purchaged it before one month onl. So i wont understand how it comes. Please help me. I am waiting for you reply.

"Your face is so ugly, it broke your phone!" Ha ha. Get it? How I was joking there? About your iPhone not working correctly after... <sigh>
But seriously, you said the situation only happens when you have been on a long call, so maybe the iPhone is just autolockng?

  • Oracle Forms from 6i to 10g -only blank screen is displaying after deployme

I have converted oracle Forms from 6i to 10g (almost 10 forms). In the development environment all 10 forms are working fine without any problems. I have deployed the forms in the server. Now all the forms are working fine except one form. Only blank screen is displaying in this case. What could be the reason? How to resolve this issue? This form is also working fine in the development environment.
    Thanks for all your suggestions.

    some possibilities:
    1. check the java console of the plugin you use (Jinitiator, Sun-plugin) and see if there are any errors reported.
    2. Do a full recompile of the form (ctrl+Shift+K, at least in german version)
    3. Maybe a navigation problem (seems unlikely for it works in dev-environment, but give it a try):
Create a new block, put a navigable textitem in it and show that textitem on your canvas, but that block as first navigatin block in the form-properties.
    4. Check other Pre-triggers(Pre-block, pre-textitem) if they are executed and may fail.
    hope this helps

However, when I put the same link in Internet Explorer, the link works and the pdf file appears on my screen. This prevents me from efficiently using email. Here is an example of a link I recently received: "As noted in the [http://leg.mt.gov/content/committees/interim/2011-2012/water-policy/agenda/wpic09132011.pdf agenda pdf] agenda, the Committee will discuss a variety of water-related topics..."

How do I install the Firefox plugin it's talking about on that page?
I only see directions to install Adobe Reader.
I cannot install a different version of Adobe. As I mentioned above, I do not have Admin privileges on this computer.
This is the version of Adobe that my employer has decided we will be using, and I do not have a vote.
I can change internal settings, and I can install Firefox plugins, but I can't install programs themselves - I don't have the necessary Admin rights to do so.
Thanks anyway, but I don't have the Admin rights needed to install Adobe Reader in the manner mentioned in this article. (I have the full Adobe Acrobat XI version 11.0.09).

  • When I delete a iMessage from a conversation, does it get deleted from the recipients screen as well ?

When I delete a iMessage from a conversation, does it get deleted from the recipients screen as well ?

Please note this is an old thread.
I think that if they did this it could cause legal issues, such as offensive messages being deleted from the recipient before they have a chance to report the sender.
Yes, it's an old one, but I started to send texts to the wrong recipients recently, and the problem is still up to date !
Of course, I agree with you : there must be a legal justification.
But, just for the discussion, I mean, when someone insists and really wants you to know he hates you, you can mute him or even report him, make screen captures…
We are all responsible for what we say and do, but that doesn't mean we should have the ability to delete our mistakes. It's not like you can delete emails or phone calls or even physical mail.
Very often, and that's actually why I searched this thread, I send a message to someone else than the one I thought. That's life, I mean, this is not just about agressive people. I would appreciate to be able to recover my mistake, and to not bother the wrong recipient, cancel the message. Plus, it can be something confidential.
What is the meaning of a mistake if we don't have the chance to recover it ?
Even the law, includes this aspect : « Is it the first, second or third time he did this ? » — I don't know in the US, but in France it's the case (and we use same iPhones).
This is one of the radical aspects of Apple I dislike, and on this point particularly, I disagree with you, because, I think, a mistake should be recoverable.
If, for example, I send a very rude text to someone, and then realize it was too much, I want to be able to delete it, because I changed my mind.
But if I consider it normal (maybe I should not) then the recipient will still be able to report me.
That's my opinion, and just wanted to share it. A mistake should be recoverable.
Hope my english is not too bad,
    Best regards,
    Francois
