Access 2007 Web Query

Hello - is there a way to set up a connection in DAO/ADO, or use a DoCmd.TransferXXX to import data from a web/cgi-bin query directly into an Access 2007 table? I know I can code a two step process (i.e., download the web query to a csv file, then DoCmd.TransferText),
but I wonder if this can be done in a single step. The web query does return csv data. Thanks so much for any tips.

Hi pkboco,
As far as I know, Access doesn't provide something like the Web Query in Excel. But you can query the data from the web page using VBA code. We can automate IE in VBA, another efficient way is to utilize the built-in ActiveX WebBrowser control, to programmatically
download the csv file or parse the HTML content from the web page, then import to the Access table.

  • Ms access 2007 between query for date

    Dear All,
I am using the below query to fetch records from a table between two dates
select * from tablename where Format([VisitDate],"Short Date") >=Format(#01/10/2014#,"Short Date") and Format([VisitDate],"Short Date") <=Format(#31/10/2014#,"Short Date")
I want records between 1st Oct to 31st Oct only, but the above query shows Nov and December data also. Please let me know where I am going wrong.
    Regards,
    Noor
    Thanks & Regards, Noor Hussain

The Format function returns a string expression, so the comparison is on that basis not on the date value.  You do not need to worry about the format at all as the date/time data type in Access is implemented as a 64 bit floating point number.
You can see it in whatever date/time format you wish, but the underlying value is always the same.  When you include a date literal in an SQL statement or in VBA code it must be either in US short date format (mm/dd/yyyy), or in an internationally unambiguous
format.  The ISO standard format for date notation of YYYY-MM-DD is a good choice.  So you query would be:
    SELECT *
    FROM tablename
    WHERE VisitDate  >=  #2014-10-01#
    AND VisitDate < #2014-11-01#;
Note that the range is defined as on or after the start date and before the day following the end date.  This ensures that all relevant rows are returned.  As there is no such thing in Access as a 'date value', but only a 'date/time value' it is possible
that a 'date' of 31 October 2014 could have a non-zero time of day element unless you have taken steps in the table definition to specifically exclude values with a non-zero time of day.  Such date/time values would not fall within a range ending <=
#2014-10-31#, so would not be returned by the query.  Defining the end of the range with < #2014-11-01# ensures that such rows are returned.

  • Using Powershell Script Run simple query in MS Access 2007 and export the results of query to Excel

    Hi Experts,
I have a Access 2007 DB file and 2 Big tables inside that (bigger than the size that can be easily handled by MS Excel 2007).
My requirement is automate using powershell scripts the below things.
    1. Create a SQL query in Access DB and save that in access DB
    2. Run the saved query and export the result in excel sheet where I can create the charts and Pivots. Thanks in advance
    Prajesh

Do you have to use the Access query, couldn't you just recreate the query in Powershell?  Here's a link with good info that references an existing script for querying an Access database:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/heyscriptingguy/archive/2009/08/13/hey-scripting-guy-can-i-query-a-microsoft-access-database-with-a-windows-powershell-script.aspx
Once you have your dataset you can pipe it to
    Export-Csv -NoType c:\pathtofile\output.csv

  • Access from WebI/ Universe to SAP Query with user who has analysis authenti

    Hello together,
I try to run and build a WebI report which is build on a universe based on SAP BW query. The user has restricted access to the data provider on which the SAP query is build. This restriction is based on analysis authentification (SAP BI 7.0) if I start the SAP query in BW the user has only restricted access to the data in the data provider (on which the SAP query is build). If I start the WebI report the user has full access to the data. I checked the authentification and in my opinion there is no other authentification in SAP BW which extends the restrictions.
Has anyone an idea why the authentification doesn't work?
    Greetings Janine

    Hey here,
I m creaing my universe on top of Infocube or multiprovider.
    >> The recommendation path is to use BW queries with the necessary Authorization Variables leveraging your BI Authorizations.
    For eg:
    I have 2 users, User1 and User2.
Now if I want User1 should see data for CostCentre = UK,India.
User2 should see data for CostCentre = US, UK,India
    >> This is part of BI Authorizations in BW.
    Here are my queries:
    1) Will User1 and User2 be able to see the data level access in Webi Report based on the their Login?
    >> assuming you follow the 2 steps mentioned above (Query and authorization variables) - yes
If Data level access cannot be achieved in Webi via universe created on top of Infocube/Multiprovider then what is the approach to do so?
    >> Data level security is part of your BI authorizations in BW.
In a nutshell, BO alone can't do that, one has to set up at BI level.
    Hope clarified all your doubts.
    Gracias...!!

  • Safari compatibility with Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 Web Access

I'm trying to use Live Meeting 2007 Web Access, and the test page is saying that the software isn't supported by my platform. The troubleshooter states that system requirements are Safari 1.3 or 2.0, and my Safari is 3.2.1 Can anyone advise how to remedy this without scrapping my current version and adding the earlier one? It also says it needs Apple Java 1.4.2...I'm completely lost there. Thanks for your help!

    Hi,
Did the issue happen for all Live meeting or just for one Live meeting?
If the issue happen for all Live meeting, please update OCS client and then test again.
Try to reset IE and use other media player to test the issue.

  • Can't Edit Data in Access 2013 Web App

I have an Office 365 P1 account that I have been using to create apps in Access 2010. I tried Access 2013. But when I launch an app, it loads in my Office 365, but editing data is not enabled (the Add and Edit buttons are displayed, but not enabled).
I have tried creating a new custom web app with one simple table and a view, as well as creating one using a Microsoft pre-built template, and simply creating the app and launching it. In both cases, the app displays, but I cannot add or edit data.
Is there something with my Office 365 account that is limiting my ability to work with Access 2013 web apps?
    Thank you!

    Hi KrisMarshall7,
In regarding of the issue, please provide us more information to assist you better.
What the file format is your Access 2007 file? MDB or ACCDB?
Where do you want to add the columns? Table, form or query?
    As far as I know,
the limitation of columns in a table is 250. Thus, I suppose that the database had some hidden columns. Please try to check it. Steps:
Right-click any field title, then select Unhide Fields. A dialog box will appear. Click the check boxes of any fields you would like to be visible again, then click Close.
    Hope it's helpful.

  • Add extra Business Objects to model CRM 2007: Web Client Records

    Hello,
Could anyone tell me how I can add more Reference Objects in Case Management?
I copied the model CRM 2007: Web Client Records and added a new node (with for example Business Object Service Order) just like product and installations (which are visible under the reference objects)
I created a new element type under SCMG_SP_CASE_RECORD --> Z_CRM_SPS_CASE_RECORD and in the customizing we attached the model to the case type under Case Management --> Extended Customizing --> Process Actions --> Assign Action Profile to Case Type.
Still the new Business Object in the model isn't visible under Case Management in de WebUI.
Could anyone tell me if I'm missing something or is there a config guide available how to add more business objects?
    Looking forward to your replies.

  • Printing to PDF from MS Office Access 2007

I just upgraded to MS Office Access 2007 and am now noticing that horizontal lines are not always printing on the PDF output file.  There is a violation with the WYSIWYG rule now.  This problem did not exist with the MS Office 2003 version that I had before.  The strange thing is that some of the horizontal lines from my reports print... just not all of them.

    General Acrobat Problem Steps
If you are having problems creating a PDF, there are two steps you should do FIRST
Go to the appropriate vendor web site and apply all updates to the program you are using (several recent messages have concerned problems with MS Office conversion, with the response that different versions of Office have different BUGS that must be fixed by a download from Microsoft - and MS Office products are not the only ones which may, from time to time, need to be updated to work properly)
Apply all updates IN NUMBER ORDER
    Acrobat Update http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows
Also, for Office 2007, see if this Microsoft product will work for you

  • Server 2008 and MS Access 2007 Scheduled Task

I have a Server 2008 with MS Access 2007 installed.
I created a task that is designed to lanuch Access, open a designated database, and run a macro. The macro calls a function within the database that generates a series of reports in PDF format for use in a web app.  The task was created to
run a local user, with credentials stored.  This whole process has been running fine for many months.  A recent group policy change has caused this to now stop.
The GP now states that user credentials can no longer be stored.  I changed the task so that it is to run as SYSTEM but this is not working either.  It seems access is launching as SYSTEM, I can see this in the task manager, but it does not seem
to open my database since no .ldb is being created.  I also added logging code to my function and nothing ever gets in there.  I think the issue is that there is no profile for SYSTEM, so when access starts running it's looking to build a profile
    for that user.
Does anyone know how I can make this work?

    Hi Scott,
Based on my research, the functionality of storing password for some Group Policy Preferences is being removed because the password was stored insecurely.
Especially for Scheduled Tasks and Data Sources, we will be unable to achieve the same goals that were available through the non-secure functionality of Group Policy Preferences passwords.
As a workaround, scheduled tasks still can run in the context of the local service.
    More information for you:

  • Connecting Dreamweaver to Access 2007 database

Hi, I am relatively new to Dreamweaver CS3; I have built a
database in MS Access 2007; I'm looking to do either of the
    following;
    1. Put the database form on the web, so users can enter
information straight into the database or/
    2. Create a front end form in Dreamweaver and link it to my
    database
Ideally, I would like to do #1
This is an internet website, not an intranet website.
Any help would be appreciated as I am growing frustrated.

That makes ASP easy to install, but ease of installation does
    not
    necessarily mean ease of learning.

    book. The current books

There's a very good reason for that. Microsoft stopped
    developing ASP in
2000. Although ASP is widely supported, and will continue to
    be for the
foreseeable future, it's a technology that's going nowhere.
    Anyone just
starting out to learn how to build a database-driven website
    would be
better advised to learn one of the technologies that remain
    in active
development. That means ASP.NET - which has a steeper
    learning curve
than ASP - ColdFusion, or PHP.
Another important consideration is which database to use.
    Access is not
designed to be used on a website. It works fine for small
    websites that
don't get many visitors, but it creates bloated files, and
    locks up when
traffic increases. Although MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server
    are more
difficult to learn, they are a much better option for a
    website.
I'm biased in favour of PHP and MySQL because I write books
    about them,
but I would seriously advise Jedi7 to choose anything other
    than Access/ASP.

  • Access 2013 Web reporting seems to be missing

I have a simple request from a user to print out a list of the database in a nicely formatted form. Should take 10 minutes (or so I thought).  The version is Access 2013 web.
It appears that this simple request is not easily done.  There appears not to be a reporting function in the Web version of Access.  I spent a long time looking for it and decided that it just isn't there.
For my second choice I decided to deploy the desktop version and create the reports there, but can't get a connection to the SQL Server where the Access Web App stores my data in SharePoint.
I found a web link showing me how to hook up Excel to the SQL server supporting the web app database.  I have gone to the Web Access FILE\INFO screen and selected the Manage Connections section.  Followed the instructions
for enabling a read only connection and then copied and pasted the server, database name, username and password into Excel using the "From other sources" button, then selecting the "From Data Connection Wizard", Selected other/advanced
and then SQL Server Native Client 11.0.   It does not find the server when I test the connection.  I constantly get a time out.
I am using a 365 SharePoint server to host my access web site.  I called 365 Tech support and spent hours trying to work this out with people that didn't know anything about Access.  The SharePoint people didn't understand the problem of not
being able to connect and was eventually told that it wasn't a feature they offered.
As an aside, with 18 years experience in developing Access applications, I am looking at other products to replace Access.  I didn't jump into Access 2010 web because of the way SharePoint handled the database, but this is worse. Hate to walk away
from the experience I have, but seems I have been left little choice.

See if this blog post that our support team created helps you with the connection information. This can create the desktop Access application linked up to the Access 2013 web app tables you have.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/the_microsoft_access_support_team_blog/archive/2014/03/24/how-to-make-external-connections-to-an-access-web-app-new.aspx
Also, you might just try clicking the Create Reports button in the Access web app client interface and Access will create the reporting database for you with links to the web app tables. On the File menu (when using the Access web app in client) make sure
to click the option to Allow Any Location under the Manage button. After that, just click the Create Reports button on the File menu (right above the Manage button) and wait a few seconds. Access will create a new desktop database linked up to all of the Access
web app tables. You can then create as many reports or other desktop objects as you like.
